^I got your report. Dealt with. |
queenafric: I never at any point made it look like TeHN didn't want to help. I only stated that I didn't get a reply to my last three emails. No insult intended, but the only reply I got after I sent my contact details to d group's email was ur last post on dis thread b4 this. I also didn't get a reply when I sent another email this morning asking if all was well. I understand that d child's situation is not life threatening but at d same time, I think it is common courtesy for d group to have replied to my emails explaining the situation of things to me. Moreso, on Monday, u guys already told ur representative to hold on about making that trip wit me, but I told her we can still make d trip since I was already on my way to see her that same Monday. Please check your mailbox, we sent you a reply this morning and apologized for the delay. We sincerely understand and appreciate your passion over this case, it is not in our character not to respond to mails, we were caught up with some pressing issues and as you might have noticed a team manages TeHN, so every mail and issue has to be discussed and agreed upon by the team before we respond. By next week we will hopefully give maximum attention to the girl's case. Please we will be expecting your mails with the pictures and details of your findings so far. Well done and may God bless your efforts. TeHN Modification: I didnt see R231 post before posting this |

queenafric: @Mutter,thanks for ur interest in this child. I actually wanted to suggest about ways in which we all can help this child. I will suggest that 4 other willing nairalanders including myself, making 5 in all, should come together to form a caretaker team for funds to be raised on behalf of dis little girl. Despite showing some interest at some point, I am yet to get a reply to my last 3 emails from the Nairaland charity. Right now, myself and someone else is making effort to get a good home for d child. The grandma can visit whenever she want. The funds will be used to maintain d child in d home cos they receive payment per term. As for d child's mother, I was made to understand dat she hasn't bothered about her since she was 8months old. Also, I am working towards getting the consent of a good authority. Hopefully, everything will go fine as planned. Meanwhile, I am appealing to anyone who is honest and is willing to work with me in ways to raise some funds thru this medium for dis poor little girl. Pls whatever anyone decides to do, know u are doing it for God and d lord will bless u all continuously as u try to help. Thank u all.@queenafric Please don't make it look like TeHN (Nairaland Charity) gave up or careless about the case. While we appreciate the need to help and on time too, we also know the girl's case is not a matter of life and death, we only asked you to give us some time. It was only on Monday we sent one of us to follow you and verify the case. We have some issues we are sorting out and we also have a process we follow while taking up any case. One of the things we are also doing is looking for the many solutions available out there for the girl. In the meantime please email us the details concerning the homes you found (the requirements, costs etc.) and your suggestions/recommendations. But if you prefer your option above, it is also well and good. TeHN |
Good one from Senate. |
Senate slashes cost of number plates to N8, 400 For those who haven’t gotten the new vehicle number plate and driver’s licence, here is good news. The Senate Committee on Federal Character and Intergovernmental Affairs has recommended the reduction of the cost of the new plates from N15,000 to N8,400. The committee also recommended that the cost of driver’s licence should be reduced from N6,000 to N4,000. It directed the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) to recommence the issuance of the new number plates and licenses which was earlier suspended. The recommendations were contained in the committee’s report, following an investigation into the issue of new number plates. The committee also ordered that the cost of motorcycle number plates put at N3,000 should revert to the old price of N1,500; the licences are to remain at N750. It also directed the cessation of the collection of e-coding scheme and the collection of N2,000 per vehicle by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO). According to the report: “The FRSC should call for the replacement of Driver’s Licences only at the point of renewal upon expiration to avoid double payment.” The committee also observed that the August deadline for the change was no longer realistic, citing the exorbitant cost and the time lapse during the National Assembly’s intervention. It further recommended that the police should cease its Biometric Central Motor Registry (BCMR) which would also attract N3,500 from vehicle owners, to avoid duplication and additional burden on Nigerians. “The Police Force should synergise its idea of biometric data collection and collaborate with FRSC ,which has an existing data base,” the committee said. Other details of the recommendation showed that articulated vehicles will now pay N11, 200, instead of the N20,000 stipulated by the FRSC. Privileged, fancy or personalised numbers were left as recommended by the FRSC. However, dealer number plates which was cost N30,000 was slashed to N16,800, while government’s input at N15,000 was reduced to N10,000. The committee urged the FRSC to embark on a massive orientation and enlightenment of the people to highlight the advantages of the new plates. Although the production of the number plates cost N7,590, which is offered to the states at N7500, the states offer it to the public at N15,000. “The additional charge by the states on the cost of production of the two items is a tax levied on vehicle users to enable states raise revenue to render service in that regard, hence the disparity in the costs of license and plate number fees from state to state. “However, the committee found this unacceptable as it will create more hardship on the average Nigerian and vehicle users,” it added. http://www.thenationonlineng.net/2011/index.php/news/46208-senate-slashes-cost-of-number-plates-to-n8-400.html |

Suspension: NJC to reinstate Justice Salami today The National Judicial Council, NJC, will today formally reinstate the suspended President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Isa Ayo Salami, almost nine months after he was kicked out of office. This indication emerged yesterday, after a three member panel set up by the NJC and led by a justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Aloma Muhktar, submitted its report recommending the immediate reinstatement of Justice Salami.A competent source, who is also a member of the NJC, told National Mirror last night that the Justice Muhktar尀s recom-mendation is slated for adoption today.Justice Salami was suspended on Thursday August 18, 2011 following the recommendationmade by the Justice Ibrahim Ndahi Auta-led panel, which indicted him of insubordination. He was directed to proceed on compulsory sus-pension pending the time President Goodluck Jonathan approves the Coun-cils recommendation that he should be retired from the bench. The Council also directed Justice Salami to hand-over to the most senior justice of the Court of Appeal. Section 238 (4) (5) of the 1999 constitution which addresses such situation cre-ated by the NJC decision reads: If the Office of President of the Court of Appeal is vacant, or if the person holding the office is for any reason unable to per-form the functions of the office, then until a person has been appointed to and has assumed the functions of that office, or until the person holding the has resumed those functions, the President shall appoint the most senior justice of the Court of Appeal to perform those functions.唀 http://nationalmirroronline.net/news/39495.html |
