@OAM4J......you people are not getting us. Which comes first?...treatment or diagnosis? How can you treat .... chemotheraphy and whatever treatment plan ....if he is not diagnosed? If he is diagnosed we need to know...until then you guys are putting the cart before the horse. Thank you very much.
Bro, we have some test results already, though not fully conclusive on the exact problem yet, could be TB or cancer. The concluding tests we are told will be chest CT scan and Laparoscopy as explained in our last report. We are looking for the best place we can have these conclusive tests at the best price; reason why we checked Reddington, Paelon Memorial, Eko Hospital and AVLSC. And we reported our findings of these places already. Now some people are now suggesting we check Mecure also, and we are considering it.

LCC where he met the Oncologist recommends he continue with the current TB treatment and they also called for some tests which we are yet to carry out considering the cost and trying to avoid repetition of tests. They can refer us to a place for Laparoscopy if we commence the tests they called for with them but we are considering and comparing cost. The place we were 1st referred to by Life Specialist quoted around N300k for Laparoscopy. We think it is too high.

Some people suggested we forward the results we have so far to HCG in India and get their opinion. It costs us nothing to do that while we are still working to get a a conclusive diagnosis. So we mailed them and they replied us among other things; their treatment plan and cost of treatment base on the test results we have so far. Doctors working with us disagree with chemotherapy included in their treatment plan.

TB is currently being treated as it is one of the suspected problems and the cost of treatment is not much. Fortunately the relief Ahmed is having is due to that treatment.

Against all odds, we are praying and hoping Ahmed only has TB and not cancer, but Laparoscopy will be the conclusive test.

I hope this explanation is detailed now.

Now I have to talk.
Chemotherapy is outdated, toxic and kills patients faster than cancer, cheap hospitals use it to bleed patients dry.
There are better more effective cancer treatment especially at his stage because even without tests I can safely guess stage 2 or early 3, I am not a doctor but I have plenty personal cancer experience.
Let us gather what is left and send this guy to India. I know for a fact that with good treatment and management even stage 3 cancer can be painlessly treated. Before the prayer warriors and refectors gather and crucify me I know what am saying.

And besides why have they been hiding the news from the patient? What kind of crude medicine do we practice? Is the patient not supposed to be the first to know? Is it not his body! Should he not know and condition his heart and mind for what is to come?

I beg in the name of God dont let chemo poison this man
You people are still not getting us.

We contacted HCG in India, we sent them all the reports we had so far. They later sent us their bill and treatment plan which includes Chemotherapy.

The Doctors walking with us like you also disagree with the chemotherapy in their treatment plan, so we have to shelve their proposal for the time being.

The reality we have to adjust with is that salvation might not necessarily be in the name 'India Hospital', but in getting the right hospital with the best treatment plan anywhere it is.

mecure is at oshodi bus-stop . once you are coming from mile 2 to oshodi , its at the right hand side of the road with a big signpost before you get to oshodi oke but test are very expensive there 35000 , 45k ,55k , 70k etc
Me Cure House, Debo Industrial Compound, Apapa – Oshodi Expressway (near NAFDAC), Lagos – Nigeria

@OAM4J
Mecure address is as stated by earlier respondents. Its within CWAY compound. Sorry for the late response.
Lekki ph1 branch is close to the bustop by 1st gate, off Admiralty way. Its walking distance from the gate but I can't remember the street name.
Not all tests are expensive considering their expertise. It depends on what is required. Basic comprehensive test (all vitals plus mammo/prostrate etc) is about 60k. The one that includes cancer screening is higher but after looking at the bills incurred so far with little progress I think we should try this and refer to the teaching hospitals for advice.
Well done guys! Blessings shall flow your way ceaselessly.
Thank you very much.

Please try MECURE for proper diagnosis. It's an Indian diagnostic centre. Some OAU, UCH doctors send patients there for tests in complex cases. They are at Oshodi with branches at Lekki phase 1and Ibadan. They have modern equipment. You can run some comprehensive tests without direct doctors referral especially in this case where a second opinion is badly needed.

Meanwhile compliments of the season to you DJdola! May you be delivered from all these problems, may you arise and shine again by God's grace.
Thank you. Can you help us with the exact address at Oshodi or Lekki and if possible contact phone numbers.

Cheers.

Shout Out to Standd for shouting out to me cheesy
She has been my number one secret admirer but that's after Teeo. Where's that bobo sef? He was my closet admirer tongue

I have been an introvert all my life and I've carried that lifestyle into my online life. This has been a hindrance for me to really come out in all my glory and associate with people hereon. It didn't stop me from recognizing awesomeness when we cross paths though and as such, I'll have to shout out to them just so they can maintain their wonderful natures. To the very 5 people I follow, you are the best there is: OAM4J, Odumchi, Busybody2, r231 and Naijasinglegirl, you guys rock big time. There is a reason, a genuine reason why I follow you and you all never disappointed. I may not have related with you outside NL but it doesn't stop the fact that I salute your awesomeness always.

There are still wonderful NLnders who in no small way make me smile when I read their posts, yet some more make me lose focus momentarily and wish I could just slap them through my screen. Lol. Some more are so humane I also pray to have their kind of nature, you know, the kind of grace upon them, I salute you all.

To those, the very few I know off NL, you guys rock!

And to the very dumb French students, better relocate to Katsina and get proper education.

Once again, thank you Standd for bringing me here. Have a merry celebration.
Thanks. You are a wonderful person and I admire you too. Compliments of the season!

My opinion or the interpretation of the results you provided by two cancer specialists who specifically told you that growth should be biopsied?
If you folks are done with the case please declare it closed after all patient has been discharged.
Or you can keep shopping for the diagnosis of your choice

You can carry out every test in the world but until someone uses a surgical blade and cuts out that mass they found and a pathologist looks at it under the microscope ,no one will ever give you a definitive diagnosis.
a fluid cytology already tells you there is something fishy going on.
So Shop for who will go in and do what I described
Your test results already tell you such a mass exists
What are you waiting for?
For someone to tell you it doesn't exist?
Then repeat the CT scan at another facility and have another radiologist read the result
Ok all the above are noted. With your suggestion that we send all the reports to India and start preparing him for India.

We will seriously consider them ma in line with all other suggestions we have.

Thank you ma.

All we have done here is say the hospital should hasten up the diagnosis process and rule out cancer, which was one of the 4 diagnosis they gave, nothing else...We are aware of ethical reasons not to disclose diagnosis. I have shared same thing you have said up there about withholding info in a post I made 5 weeks ago. Our collective goal and wish is for a false positive result. Thanks.
Trust me, no one hears of cancer and go to bed and sleep soundly. We like all of you are eager to confirm or rule it out as soon as possible. What we need is the practical way to go about it with or without the current hospital treating him.

If the hospital is slow, as we think they are, what do we do? Compel them to hasten up? Yes! but we have to approach it with care, reason we kept asking for a doctor on ground to help us 'compel' them to hasten up.

Alternatively or in addition is to liaise with other doctors and seek their opinion and practical things we can do to get a confirmation as soon as we can, and Royver is helping us with that.

We are also still opened to other practical suggestions of what we can do to get a conclusion as soon as we can, preferably not a 'read in between the lines' suggestions.

babyosisi:
Look at that!
Then why ask my opinion if you won't do anything with it
Why did you have me waste my time?
Why ask mine or anyone's opinion in the first place
The test results were given to you by a doctor no be so
Why don't you ask the doctors treating your patient what the results he handed to you mean, are they spirits?
Why will a doctor send a patient for a test, you pick up the test them you come online to look for anonymous doctors and strangers to interpret them.
Don't annoy me now
Sorry you feel your time was wasted. You requested for those reports and we gave you because we think you are a concerned party and we can make use of your suggestions and opinions. We are happy we have yours and others' opinions, and we made use of them as much as we can in our iteration with the doctors treating him. But it was impractical for us to fully play Dr Osisi Vs The Doctors treating him. Ahmed's life was in between. We went about making use of your suggestions with care.

What we didn't know was that your suggestions and opinion should be consider as a final authority. Am sorry we were and still unable to do so. In the multitude of counsel there is safety says an holy book. We would rather consider all opinions and suggestions and take the best decision we can take in the best interest of Ahmed.

Everything any body ever wanted to know is included in my posts above
What I left out is the prognosis From the the analysis of the results.

The fluid has been analyzed by cytology and it is positive for malignant cells ( which by the way is not always positive even in malignancy but in this case is)
It doesn't get any clearer than that what we are dealing with and I am coming to this conclusion from their own lab results.
So what do we do?

Meet the doctors and tell them one anonymous doctor online called babyosisi think 'this' and 'this' should be the problem and they should do 'this' and 'this'?

Then they 'bamboos' us with all the medical jargon in the world why they don't agree with you (while feeling we think they are incompetent) and we keep shaking our heads like agama lizard not having a clear clue to what they are saying. Then we come back to relate to you what they say and you send us back to them making us like a ping pong ball with precious time wasted in between.

This is why we need a doctor on the ground who can fully grab your explanation and discuss with those treating him, he will not be 'bamboosed' like us and he can ask real questions, agree and disagree with them because he is not a medical novice.

But in the meantime, we are in discussion with Royver - A Nairalander who is also a medical doctor based in Nigeria (though not in Lagos). He is following this thread and might have read everyone's questions and concerns. He has seen all the tests results too and asked questions with answers provided and suggested we carry out few more (not so expensive) tests, after which he will be able to give us his conclusion and further advise us on what to do. If need be, we might invite him to Lagos, hoping he will be able to make it.

We are not interested in proving anyone right or wrong, or further analysis of concerns we already shared, we are interested in practical positive way forward for Ahmed. He is all that matters here.

Thank you.

Kai, Babyosisi I must commend you, you are very patient, even when there was temporary relief and people got excited throwing snide comments at you, you didnt fight back.
When the reality of what you have been saying is setting in now they are still making comments and making you out as satan because you are being realistic and seeing the real situation instead of what we would want it to be.

Now, as the test results are being awaited for a definate diagnosis we need to go back to square one that is raising funds to get him to travel if need be but we are not over 500k short and so we need to start raising funds again.

Lets try to listen and not get excited rejecting and rebuking, God works through doctors. Its because Babyosisi is a nairalander hence the "see finish" do you know how much we would have paid for this free consultancy she is giving? Even involving other doctors.
What realities ma? What should we have listened to and treat without proper tests?

All the diagnosis that were being thrown up on Nairaland before tests were conducted have been ruled out. At least now we know his kidneys and liver are ok which was the reason people were suggesting we fly him to India and look for donors in the 1st place.

If we had listened without conducting these tests we would have wasted more money. The tests carried out are not conclusive yet but fact is progress have been made and we are closer to getting to exact problem than all the guess diagnosis we had on Nairaland before now.

We are dealing with someone's life here, we cannot run with guess diagnosis ma.

Thanks for this response here
But please so I get something clear, how did this decision come about.
Who initiated it and what was the conversation?
Did they make him a follow up appointment( check up)
When and what for?
Is there a discharge plan and what is it?
Ahmed initiated it, though we initially opposed it, we later took it up with the doctors treating him yesterday and this morning and they have no objection to it as long as he will be taking his medications promptly and come for his check up regularly. Ahmed agreed to those conditions and he was discharged today with his drugs and an appointment for a check up in few days.

You are feeling better and okay does not mean you are now okay because so far so good the hospital is yet to get to the root of your sickness , I know u are tired but you should have exercise patience , going to the hospital from home shouldnt have being an option and I see no reason why tehn team allowed you. People are ready and are already footing the bills and by God grace will not stop till you get better

Have you for once considered the stress of coming from home regularly? Have you also considered the hold-up in lagos? Have you considered the stress of going round for further test? Have you considered the fact that once u are home people will surely come and visit and so deprive you of good sleep?

I have an elder brother that had almost thesame problem with u and despite the fact that the hospital (federal medical center) is just a stone throw to my house we still decided to leave him in the hospital , we spent lots of money , lots of test upon test was conducted and at the end he was fine and discharged , one of the result showed he had tb , drug was giving to him and the doctor ask him to use the drug for 6month , he did and by His grace he his totally okay now

We cannot know more than this doctors

Get well soon
Thank you for your well composed post. We totally agree with all you wrote and share same sentiments with you. But we decided to let him go home while paying close attention to him for the following reasons;

1. The doctors treating him have no objection to him being an out patient

2. In the light of many questions and suggestions here, we think it might be easier to have another doctor/consultant go through the test results we have and examine him for a second opinion. This we know they might not find easy to do if Ahmed is still on admission with the hospital treating him.

3. All in all, if we have any reason to send him back on admission we will do so promptly.

Thank you.

To my brothers Jarus, Oam4j, R231, jaybee3 and Mynd44 please there's no point in putting up defensive stances. We are all in this together so instead of standing on opposite sides, please let's stand on the same sides and face whatever is coming. Thanks and one love.
Thanks bro.

We are not even defending the hospital, we shared all the concerns raised and we did make effort to address them with the hospital. This is part of the reason we insisted on having copies of all the test results so we can share them with other medical experts and have other opinions(which was not easy considering the fact that Nigerian Doctors dont like sharing medical reports, as if the patient has no right to it)

But there is very little we can do to change the course of their approach since we are not medical experts. And you will agree with me that it will be silly of us to tell them some anonymous online medical experts think they are rip off and their approach is wrong.

So in the interest of Ahmed all issues have to be handled carefully. Reason why we shared these concerns some days ago on this thread and asked for suggestions.

All of the opnions we got so far are also not conclusive and many of them also suggested more tests to reach a definite conclusion.

What we need are practical suggestions and not dramas and shows. If any of the medical experts here will also volounteer to visit the consultants and ask real questions from one expert to another we will also appreciate.

Till we have a better alternative we have no choice than to accept their approach and judgement in the interest of Ahmed while we continue to ask questions we get from other opinions.

**DJ was admitted November 15th...According to the most recent update, the hospital said four potential diagnosis :- Cancer, Liver disease, Advanced Retroviral disease, Abdominal TB

**He ruled two (liver and retroviral) out in a matter of days. On Nov 27th, blood test reveals cancerous cells...today is Dec 17th/week 5 and update is still stating they are treating Tuberculosis after which they will now request further tests to detect primary source of cancerous cells, etc...

**Luth that he came from was already investigating Cancer in week 2.

**See DJ's last report stating what the Eruwa Doctor told Caracta below...

**And these people are still making it about them, their money, their sleepless nights, their numerous phone calls, blah, blah, blah...

I don't understand why this people are making it about them, the team, etc?? Was it not on this same thread that Olu4life who was Team leader for group A insulted and disrespected and publicly overlooked?? I wonder if they read what they post??
Ordinarily I would have ignored all these but for the benefit of those reading so you dont mislead readers who might took your words for facts. Even though you give the impression you possess some knowledge of medicine, you are yet to tell us that you are a specialists in cases like Ahmed's case or prove to us you know better than those specialists currently handling him. Medical doctors from this site mailed us to give us their opinions and suggestions. Osisi even even took all the test reports we have so far to other specialists in US and forwarded to us their opinions and suggestions, all which we are taking into consideration.

1. You seem to have more information on the tests carried out at LUTH than we and Ahmed have. Please forward them to us.

2. Which of the reports on Nov.27 reveals cancerous cells? We were only informed of cancerous cells about a week or two ago when one of the results of the tests came. Can you please give me a link to that Nov 27 report?

3. The hospital is not ignoring anything but waiting for the result of the Abdominal CT scan that only came today Dec.17th.

4. If TB was suspected and the cost of treating it is not much why should it be ignored? And whatever improvement Ahmed has now is due to that treatment.

5. And who are "these people" that are still making it about them, their money, their sleepless nights, their numerous phone calls? Where is TeHN making it all about them? Our focus remains Ahmed's health.

6. Again I repeat, We are concerned with the time taken to reach a definite diagnosis including the amount spent, and we did inform the hospital of our concerns but we were told Ahmed has to be systematical and thoroughly examined so they don't get it wrong. We have no choice but to respect their demand and process till we are presented with better alternatives. Also taking into consideration Mynd's explanation that test results in Nigeria don't come out in few hours, but most times take days.

7. The reality I have to accept is that Ahmed is being treated in Nigeria hospitals with a lot of inadequacies which is unlike UK hospitals you are familiar with or other part of the world, where the facilities are in place and results are gotten in hours.

8. We already requested for suggestions of better alternatives days ago on this thread and beside your complaints and raising issues we already raised and taken with the hospital, you are yet to suggest to us a better alternative. Do you have a better hospital in mind? Do you suggest we fly him out of the country without a definite diagnosis? Or what exactly do you want us to do that we have not done?

I responded to Jarus earlier somewhere. There is 4 possible causes a b,c,d.

Tests were carried out,b and c were ruled out, meaning he is healthy in this department, YET hospital sends patient to do further tests for b again. Whyhuh

These further tests tended to a, YET hospital starts treating for e which was never in the equation before. Whyhuh

Now further subsequent tests tends again to a, YET hospital starts treatment for d. Again whyhuh

Why is the hospital playing people round? Don't they have a conscience?
what are your a b c d ?

Nothing definite or conclusive was reach at the early weeks, may be our layman reporting got you confused.

BTW, Ahmed has been with the hospital for about 5 weeks not months.

Look through the report below again and tell us in specific terms where their procedure became questionable and we might take it up with them.

r231:
UPDATE!!!
As promised, we visited the hospital on Monday (15/12/2014) to express our growing concerns with respect to the perceived slow pace as far as getting a definitive diagnosis is concerned.
We were able to extract the following Information (Please see summary below) from his doctors:
‎Hammed was first brought in from Eruwa about a month ago, he presented with progressive weight loss, abdominal swelling and lower back pain.
Based on the combination of the swelling and lower back pain, there were four options which were considered
1. malignancy
2. Advanced retroviral disease
3. Liver Disease
4. Abdominal Tuberculosis
The first thing was to do a retroviral test which showed no viral disease.
The next step was a test of kidney and liver functions respectively which showed they were about average more or less and thus that was eliminated
In addition, other tests (both routine and sophisticated) have been held and so far were only indicative.
The next step was to refer Hamed to a gastroenterologist for the liver biopsy where it was decided he be drained first.
After draining and before the biopsy (which was not held), a surface lump was sighted via physical examination and scans.
The thought of the specialist was then to do a laparoscopy (a minimally invasive procedure) to remove the superficial lump.
However he was brought back to Life Specialist.
Based on the drained fluid, a cytology of the fluid was held.
In the meantime, a regimen to embattle abdominal tuberculosis was embarked upon Tuesday which has accounted for the improvement in his physical condition
The thinking here is that while the results of tests are awaited, this is a no risk step which will pay dividends if the diagnosis is abdominal TB and at least provide some healing if not.
The result of the cytology  showed a presence of cancerous cells but no idea of the primary source just yet
NEXT STEPS
A. the results of the CT scan on the abdominal area is awaited. he hopes to follow up with the lab and get this tomorrow
If this does not provide the primary source, there is need for additional scans so as to identify the source and then the stage
B. Once the primary source, the relevant course of treatment can be embarked upon

Immediate Challenges:
Hammed is now feeling stronger than ever and in turn wants to return home as he is growing bored of sitting about the hospital doing nothing. We do sympathise with him as well as happy that his condition has at least gotten better if compared to the way it was weeks back.

As much as we feel the best way to approach this is by him getting a definitive diagnosis and in turn proceed on an agreed treatment plan, we understand his growing frustrations and thus might have to reluctantly allow him to turn into a day patient. He has assured us that he will present himself as of when needed and we will continue to work with him to provide a lasting solution.

PS: We are impressed with the visual state of Hammed as he now looks much better. His face looks fresher and he is generally more optimistic for the future

OAM4J,

This Hospital is ripping people off. Read the last update r231 uploaded again nau haba...
Your concern is noted, we thought of the possibility too, but we are unable to reach the conclusion that it is a rip off. We also have no guarantee that taking him to another hospital apart from teaching hospitals will be less expensive. Private Specialists Hospitals in Nigeria are very expensive from our findings.

However, the way forward is to suggest alternatives. What are your suggestions?
HealthRe: RIP DJDOLA- We Will Miss You by OAM4J: 1:53pm On Dec 17, 2014
Busybody2:
1) Get over yourself, this is not about you. Tehn presented a bill showing an amount was charged for liver biopsy when the same TEHN provided 2 updates earlier stating a biopsy was not required. All this genuine query needs "professionally" is a simple clarification from Tehn's Accountant stating the true state of things not this back and forth parambulating from you, so carry your self-aggrandisement outta my face.

2) Again 3 out of the 4 underlying aetiology of the malignant ascites has been tested for and eliminated as far back as 3 weeks ago by this same hospital...four minus three =?? Is it benign?? What grade/stage is it??...So my input here about the mounting escalating cost, without a diagnosis that is as plain as the nose on your face, is justified...So Mr Jarus, is it a crime for me to ask, since the Hospital "knowingly" refuses to talk about this that they have known all these weekshuh
There is no need for all these Iyalode.

1. We report events as they are being carried out and we are mindful of every penny spent. The N120K deposited for biopsy is still with the hospital and we have not reached the stage of asking for refund since we are yet to reach a logical conclusion.

2. We are not aware of the tests carried out at Eruwon and how the doctor there reached his conclusions, as the attached is the only document that followed Ahmed out of Eruwon and you will agree with us no specialist can work with that.

3. We are concerned with the time taken to reach a definite diagnosis including the amount spent, and we did inform the hospital of our concerns but we were told Ahmed has to be systematical and thoroughly examined so they don't get it wrong. We guess this is their style.

4. We also contemplated taking him somewhere else, but the teaching hospitals' doctors are still on strike and taking him to another private hospital might mean starting all over again.

5. But we did inform the hospital we wish to get a definite result soon else we might have to consider alternatives.

6. Fortunately Ahmed is looking and getting better and now wish to be be an out patient.

7. What is paramount to us is getting the diagnosis right on point and Ahmed getting the right treatment, we wish it could have been faster and less costly but unfortunately it is not. This is one of the realities of healthcare challenges of this country.

Thank you.

OP, this is not a rocket science, the choice we have to make make is as clear as daylight for those who are sincere at heart and not sentimental, let me use the words of my governor:

…if we are unhappy with what we have, the logical thing to do is to attempt to change it with our votes and to change the next one too if we do not find what we want until we find what we all want. That is when the people would truly have attained power” – Babatunde Fashola

No one with the right conscience can claim this administration is anywhere near fair, I mean Nigerians deserve better. What is the legacy of this administration? To bluntly put it, Jonathan administration will only be remembered for the level of corruption it bred. We know many collected billions for petrol they never supply, who was jailed? Nobody. Pension scam; who was jailed? Nobody. Employment scam, nobody. Till date we are yet to see the result of audited account of NNPC to find the missing $20 Billion. Lets not even start to talk about insecurity, and let no one tell me that some people or a region made the country ungovernable for Jonathan, it only proves he is weak and clueless if despite the enormous power he commands he can not deal with them.

So the most sensible thing to do is to try another hand and another party on the job, if the new hand fails or unable to meet our expectation then we vote him out again and try another hand till we get it. That is the way it is done in advanced democracy all over the world.

But there is no bigger madness than to keep trying the same thing and expect a different result.

A retired general

Former head of state

Ptf chairman, do not have any single business, not even a pure water factory as you people want us to believe. How can such a man manage our economy?

No one is asking him to own a university or big businesses like other corrupt politicians, but investing or having any traceable business after holding those key positions tells about his thinking ability

Either the man is clueless for never investing after retirement or he's hiding something period. You can't tell me he contested three (3) elections with donations from friends and family members
Buhari has a cattle farm. He is content with the income from the farm and his pension.

Even the holy book says 'godliness with contentment is a great gain' and that 'a good name is better than gold (riches)'.

At this stage of our national life, we don't need greedy people who are accumulating billions they cannot spend in their lifetime, which they think they will use to better the life of their children and grand children not knowing they are destroying the lives of those children by not teaching them the dignity of labour and hard work.

We need someone to inspire our youth to simple godly living with respect and honour. Not all these corrupt people that are teaching our future generations how steal billions and get away, those to whom stealing is not corruption.

My comment on Buhari and Atiku will be put on hold until this wednesday when APC will hold presidential primaries.Whenever APC through their lying Mohammed tell us that it did not zone the presidency to the north,i can't help but laugh.

Why is there no yoruba man contesting for APC presidential primaries? A look at the contestants and their geographical leanings will reveal very clearly that it has been zoned to the north.

Kwankwaso - Kano (North)

Nda Isaiah - Kaduna (north)

Atiku - Adamawa (North)

Buhari - Katsina (North)

Okorocha is the only candidate from the south.

This born to rule mentality which APC is promoting must be stopped
What born to rule mentality? Since 1999 till now we have had southern men in charge for most of the years. How better are we? I think the present mentality of 'na our son, even though he his bad, he must continue to rule' is more dangerous for the country at this time.

Buhari's mantra is that he'd fight corruption to a standstill and most Nigerians have faith in him to keep that promise. Fix the scourge of corruption and you effectively fix 80%, or more, of our problems. What is was/is Jonathan's mantra?? "I had no shoes"!! How in God's gracious name is that our problemhuh Has shoelesness or "shoefulness" ever been a factor in determining how a country is governedhuh

Buhari towers over and above anything our present crop of politicians have to offer. At this point in our national life, we can ill afford any further deterioration in our economic indices especially as regards government's probity and fight against corruption.

Buhari is simply the man for the Job!
I believe there are better politicians in APC for the job but for the fact that Buhari has a large followership from his zone that many of those better candidates cannot boast of, those Buhari's followers will not even bother or need to watch any interview or debate involving him as their mind is made up on him. And politics is a game of number.

I agree more with the comment by Matthewbriggs below especially the bold:

Matthewbriggs:
We need the former general to be on more interviews, if possible debates. That would be cool, Nigerians need to know that His supporters are way smarter than who they are supporting.

Afraid of been caught... I am more afraid of the fact that, that he is not a master strategist with a deep understand of Nigerians economy, he does not have a clear cut strategy on ground ... just his fight against corruption mantra.

I like his stance on corruption, I am confident he would do his best to fight corruption if elected president, But the fact is he would be not be effective in fighting corruption reason been that he sounds to me like someone who detest democracy and thus may find it difficult adjusting, coupled with the fact that he does not strike me as a very good strategist ... He thinks linearly ... in one direction.

Watch Fashola speak and you'll understand where I am coming from. Fashola is a technocrat.

I will find it easy to support a Buhari/Fashola ticket. Because I know Fashola would be the brains, while he would be the muscle and moral compass. anything less is a disaster.

APC should ensure Buhari wins the primaries and pair him with Fashola
... because the rest of the other candidates are nothing to write home about.
I just hope APC will not sell off their best pair for the fair the 'Muslim-Muslim' campaign their distractors are using against them.

There are so many, but the question is will they also bring in more votes. Election is a game of numbers. With PDP rigging, use of force, fat wallet and more, APC will need all the votes possible to even secure a slim victory.

So there is only one attempt at getting it right. Apart from APC party campaign efforts, one team that can attract most votes in today's Nigeria, is a Buhari/Fashola Ticket.

All it is a fact that anyone who tell you he will not vote APC because they presented a Muslim/Muslim ticket, has already made up their mind not to vote APC, irrespective of the eventual candidate.

Jonathan already has the sympathy, sentiments, greed and selfish voters. To win,
APC need to target those who will vote for patriotism, competence, vision, independence, diligence, growth, development, etc.
Your post; especially your last paragraph and most especially the last sentence makes a lot of sense.
