ibedun:How can you have a VP from SW and also canvass No3 postion for someone from SW? Na only SW waka come? ![]() Saraki is from NC geopolitical zone... so it might go to him since no APC senator comes from SS and SE. |
coogar:Lets be careful not to also overate him. He was also building a local empire (Yoruba Party) just like Awo till PDP forced all of them to build a solid alliance. The credit of PDP's defeat doesn't go to him alone. Buhari himself should be given credit for his compromise to work with the likes of 'corrupt tagged' Tinubu to defeat PDP. And as far as I am also concerned, the major credit for PDP's fall goes to PDP itself for its inability to manage success and giving Nigeria a clueless leader like GEJ. Shollypopzz:If I must, then permit me to shift base to your heart ![]() |
Maximum respect to Jagaban Borgu! The lion of Bourdillon I dont like him that much, but you just have to give it to him, he is perhaps the best politician in Nigeria today. Sentiments aside, as far as Yoruba nation is concerned, you cannot compare him to Great Awo in terms of putting Yoruba interest 1st, development of Yoruba land and achievements. Awo is a Yoruba Legend! But when it comes to playing the National politics for the interest of Yorubas, he is better strategist and negotiator than Awo. |
oloriooko:Forget, that case will never be concluded till GMB is sworn in by May 29 |

raumdeuter:Niger gives a good result, but Benue margin is very low. |
blank:blank, PDP mathematics is out of this world, those guys are capable of anything. It is safer to work with their extreme possibilities. Rivers current written result is 1.4M and Delta is abt 800k but the news underground is that they are planning to double Delta to close the gap and damm the consequences. Delta has a voting population of about 1.8M. Though I learnt the INEC guy is not cooperating, but anything can change overnight. |
raumdeuter:I like your confidence and optimism. Fingers crossed, let's see how it goes. |
raumdeuter:The calculation is that they will get 3M from Rivers and Delta only and another differential of 1.5M from Bayelsa, Edo, Ebonyi, Cross River and Taraba. Giving them a total of 4.5M Differential. The challenge is for APC to produce a differential that is well above 2.5M from their remaining states, as it stands...its not so easy am not sure Bauchi diffrential is as much as you stated. |
Mrbigman1:Bro, Kaduna is NW. NC includes Niger, Kwara, Kogi, Plateau, Nasarawa and Benue. If results of Rivers and Delta stay at 1.4M and 800k respectively, then APC will win cos APC is still expecting good showings from Sokoto, Zamfara, Niger, Gombe and Bauchi with the 2M+ they have already. But the rumor flying around is that PDP is planning to double the result of Delta to 1.6M (Even though total PVC collected in Delta is Delta 1,900,055), if they succeed, that might change the whole equation. |
Obiagelli:PDP is cooking more than 3M votes from Rivers and Delta alone.... Real cause for worry. |
The challenge for APC is the expectation of about 3 million votes for PDP from Rivers and Delta |
Add Taraba for PDP. The challenge for APC is the expectation of about 3 million votes for PDP from Rivers and Delta |
Mynd44:Hmmm....ok. Still keeping my wine and champagne in cooler. |
johnny1980:lol LWKMD ![]() |
Mynd44:Hmmm.... Are you sure APC has enough absorber and arsenal to handle the remaining results to come from remaining 10 states of SS and SE? You go fear 70-90% voters turnout in these places compare to the average of about 40% in SW and North. Some of the figures being dish out from SE/SS are frightening. |
PointB:Those who surround him like Osinbajo, Fashola, Ogbonaiya Onu, Kwankwaso, Fayemi, Pat Utomi, Ngige.... hmnnnn, for me I am hopeful. |
Mrbigman1:Are you kidding me with the bold or you are just ignorant of one of the most popular statistics on Nigeria websites at the moment? |
Mynd44:I am expecting 99.99% voters turnout in SS and SE (except Edo and Imo) with the same percentage voting for PDP even though the reporter who covered Jonathan's polling boot reported that only about 200 of the 500 registered voters in his polling unit were accredited. Also in PDP's mathematics anything is possible, like 15 > 19 |
ifyalways:Lol. I expect PDP rigging machine to be in top gear in SS and SE. I won't be surprised to see 99.99 voters turnout and 99.99 win for PDP except in Imo and Edo. But APC results from NE and NW might cancel the effect. So Jonna and PDP need to do something urgent in SW and NC otherwise and with the early results from these regions... Otueke calls... Don't forget Jonna won these regions in 2011 |
Elections come and go, likewise politicians come and go, the country remains and wise citizens are able to witness many elections in their lifetime while the foolish ones waste their lives for nothing. As we vote from Saturday 28th March, we wish to appeal to all Nairalanders to shun violence and embrace peace before, during and after the election irrespective of the happenings around you. For the truth is, No politicians is worth the shedding of your blood. Vote for the candidate of your choice and leave the rest to INEC and God. Whatever will be will be. I came across this and feel like sharing it with you all: 1. In 2011, Governor Shekarau of Kano State contested for the Presidency on the platform of ANPP against President Jonathan of PDP. So did Nuhu Ribadu of ACN. Today, Gov. Shekarau is a Minister in President Jonathan's cabinet & a member of the President's party & Mallam Nuhu Ribadu is the PDP's candidate for governorship of Adamawa State. How many were killed because of them in 2011? 2. President Obasanjo and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu were thought to be sworn enemies. When President Obasanjo took over SW Nigeria in 2003, Gov. Tinubu became "last man standing" against him in ACN/Lagos. Today, Obasanjo is Tinubu's "Navigator" & Tinubu is treasured guest at Obasanjo's birthday. How many died believing they were enemies? 3. Fmr Govs, Engr. Segun Oni and Dr. Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti used to be political foes and now they belong to the same party. Both are alive as friends & some folks had died fighting for them. 4. Fmr. Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola never saw eye to eye with Governor Aregbesola. Now, they belong to the same party, some people died for both, but were they not always friends? 5. President Obasanjo was prepared to throw VP Atiku Abubakar out of Aso Rock. Who would have thought that Atiku would visit Obasanjo in Otta farm after all the brouhaha; and today, they are both anti-PDP. How many of us abusing, attacking ourselves and creating enmity today because of these politicians (GMB & his supporters, GEJ & his supporters) will be able to take back our abusing words when we find out that they all belong to the same party tomorrow? Or do we think it's not possible? It has happened in the past. It's happening presently and it will still happen again tomorrow. politicians belong to one big family. They have their interest at stake, do not die for them especially when you have nothing at stake. Vote, that is your obligation. You do not owe anyone a duty to die. Value your life, if you are still alive you can be better than them. Say no to violence, say no to blood letting. Make a choice with your PVC & let Nigeria be the winner! Spread the word # Our Votes Count # Election No Be War # Vote Not Fight We the elections are done and over, we will still remain Nairalanders and Nigerians. - Moderators Nairaland Politics Section |

Thank you all for all your contributions. Just to clarify the accommodation part of option 3. We think her having a change of environment is a good/positive change after losing a child in her current address. We are not planning to go and get them a house at Lekki or VGC, the kind of accommodation the family suggested for the mum costs about N5,000 a month and that means N60,000 for a year and about N120,000 for 2 years; give and take N150,000 for 2 years including all other fees. Our hope is that since we are also empowering DJ's mum, she should be able to maintain that kind of an accommodation after 2 years. But then whatever happens after 2 years is left to the family. |
Sweetguy25:If you must ask someone to do something important for you, TRUST becomes everything. The day I stop trusting anyone I hired to do a job I hired him or her for, then his or her sack becomes imminent. TRUST is key, even in relationships. So earn it, lots of it. |
As someone who did his NYSC in the North, I can tell you that an average northerner is one that keeps his word and hates thieves. Forget about their corrupt elites and politicians, I found more simple and honest people in the north than any other part of Nigeria. Buhari by his lifestyle and past actions is a man they can identify with and trust. One of my uncles lives in Kaduna and he told me that the common saying in the North is, 'all I need from Buhari is his word and I can go to bank with it'. Since the days of Ahmadu Bello and Tafawa Balewa, there has not been any other politician the Northerners trust to keep his words and look after their welfare like Buhari, that is why even those that will vote for PDP governors will vote for Buhari presidency. |
PointB:Blessed art thou Point the son of B. May the Lord answer thy prayer and grant also unto thee that which you prayeth for me. Mumu son of Hari did NOT put all our fathers in dungeons, only the elders of the land that wickedly spoiled the goodness of Naij did he put in dungeons. Oh Point the son of B, will thou also join Jonah the Able, Son of Locki to ask how much did Nwo the son of Bodo 'STOLE'? For if truly Nwo the son of Bodo STOLE, though little, his place is in the deepest pit where there is gnashing of teeth and not to sit among the nobles. Truly, Mumu son of Hari did beat our young men with horsewhips but not for evil but for the good of our young men, that they might know order and the laws of discipline. As it is written, spare the rod and spoil the child. |
naijababe:Really a nice piece worth sharing. The world will be a more peaceful place if we have less hypocrites and holier than thou people, who despite their claims, one cannot sleep with 2 eyes closed around them. |
@PointB Point the son of B ma nigga! ![]() 1. Indeed thou art blessed by the Most High with the gift of The Scribes, for you are truly one of the noble wordsmiths in the kingdom. 2. But let it be known unto you, O Point the son of B, that the matter thou speaketh about are filled with lies and deception. 3. For Jonah the Able, Son of Locki, is a man of small mind with no clue, a man of little understanding, one that is unfit to rule a kingdom as great is Naij. 4. Many are the false accusations against Mumu the son of Hari, but the eyes of people of the land are opened and they have come to understand that Mumu the son of Hari is indeed an upright man, one among the nobles, a man whose heart is only after the prosperity of the land. 5. For Jonah the Able, Son of Locki, is afraid of Mumu the son of Hari, he knoweth that he and his chiefs shall not enjoy their spoils of the land which they have wickedly spoiled the people of Naij should Mumu the son of Hari reign over the land. 6. The deeds of Mumu the son of Hari are written in the Chronicles of Hari. How he defeated the band of thieves that raided the land before him, how he brought orderliness to the land, and after he was removed from the throne, how he was begged by one those who plotted against him to come and supervise the sharing of the milk of the land which he did to the pleasing of many people. 7. As for me and my house we have decided to support Mumu the son of Hari, for in times like this, he is good for the land and many nobles of the land of naij seek after him. 8. Therefore I counsel thee and thy followers to chose Mumu the son of Hari so that the land mayest prosper. |
Well even if the printer mistakenly write Jonathan Buhari and Goodluck Osinbajo as APC Presidential and VP candidates on the billboards, Come March 28, there will be no mistake on where to thumbprint, and that is the real deal. |
