I don't know how to stress this enough o, Bitcoin is an emerging e-currency. Fraudsters are only using it as the means of exchange on their fraudulent schemes.

I've been asking about Wema since last week o, no body answer. Now it's diamond bank I'm seeing offer = N3.1M, bid = 32.8M. I talk am last week too o, didn't expect it to be this soon.
Fitch ratings of Wema Bank is attracting certain investors.

The agency has affirmed the Long-Term IDRs of Zenith Bank Plc, Guaranty Trust Bank Plc (GTB), Access Bank Plc, United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA), Wema Bank Plc and Bank of Industry (BOI).

Meanwhile, Ibrahim has said that the emergence of Bitcoin transactions is an advanced “Wonder Bank” and for that reason, it has established a joint committee with the CBN to have a holistic study of this phenomenon.

Although he acknowledged that it is going to radically transform the banking and the entire financial system space, he said that very soon there would be regulations, if not legal framework to manage this emerging instrument.

“Some big banks in the United States have developed their own Bitcoins. Now, this has compelled regulators over there to wake up.”

http://guardian.ng/business-services/cbn-ndic-plan-amcons-replacement/

The part of the quote in bold above is borne of ignorance. An MLM scheme using bitcoins as it's payment currency may be a fraudulent scheme just like one using a regular currency like Naira or Dollar. Bitcoin is an emerging payment system and they should study and create policies to manage it just like I warned in my post a few days ago. It is good he acknowledged this important issue.
Bitcoin business going-on is an MLM scheme, it's even worse than MMM, how many people on this forum have made 100 Bitcoin since they started.

We should be careful with all this stuffs.

Main while, is seems their is a strategic investor coming to WEMA Bank.

Good question! because christianity has been hyjacked by crooked pastors and christians has become so gullible and selfish nawadays that they worship only their pastors not God, and they have become only interested in miracles properity and testimonies and completely ignored what christianity is all about. and churches has been divided into thousands of fractions and given different names were different doctrines is been conducted, and they have completely forgotten and ignored the truth that they are supposed to be worshipping one God, pastors are now like celebrities, actors, amature magicians and musicians who wears expensive designer clothings and drives expensives vehicles (while their members are poor and hungry) with body guards and security men protecting them even though they are preaching that God is the only protector, does it mean that they don't even believe in God to protect them? and so on and so forth.
Its better to stay at home, read your Bible and pray, than to attend some of these so called Churches.

You're very wrong. Every parent automatically belongs to the PTA. The PTA and school board are suposed to meet regularly and liase on issues. If a parent ignores these conflict resolution avenues and resorts to going online in the name of "concerned parents" or any other rubbish pseudonym, to complain about issues the parent would ordinarily have raised very easily at the PTA and expanded school board level, which court will listen to such parents? That's the way it works world over.
That's not the way it works in all over the world.

In US and UK, parents and students go to media houses and complain about the state of their school,

Why didn't Oyedepo expel student that criticize Covenant university online.

Parents, students and other stakeholders are not bound by any law against critiquing the schools on any medium.

This circular will be withdrawn when new gets to the President

SBG04:
Oga see its even worse in developed countries. In the US for instance, there's the school board consisting of parents and school administrators, similar to our PTA. If you have any issue with the school or the way your child is treated, you go through the school board. If you're not satisfied, you appeal to the local education board through the school board. Bypassing any of these would lead to serious sanctions.
This is a very simple matter of following procedure in laying complaints. See how the OP and the Mod turned it around to be an issue with Buhari and freedom of speech. Its very shameful. Extremely shameful. 95% of the comments on this thread are calling Buhari a dictator and oppressor of free speech when the topic itself has absolutely nothing to do with it.
And where is the Nigerian law that says people(parents and others) can't complain about the activities in government schools.

That circular will be thrown away by any court in Nigeria.

True, but you know embassies verify this certificate before accepting them.

It is easy to verify a Federal certificate, than s local government certificate from Osun state.

Which of the certificate verification is faster federal or local.

cheesy cheesy cheesy grin grin

You know, I was including the above in my previous post. There is this aura that the Ikoyi registry emits. Beyond the aura, a lot of people have subconsciously added class to it. They believe it is much more classy than other registries in Lagos. Interestingly, the ladies often times get to make the pick. Trust ladies and weddings. They'd always want to stand out even under the scorching sun, just so they could pose with the infamous Ikoyi 'Ministry of The Interior' signboard.
Well, Ikoyi and Abuja are the only two federal Marriage registries in Nigeria.

The rest are state registries.

Its like comparing federal university to state university.

Sentiments favors the federal.
Most embassies recognized the federal registry more than the state.

So at the end of the day both customary and church will approach the registry for the validation of their certificate

So, why not bypass all the stress and go do registry

Why do we complicate issues
Yes, registry is the final Bus-stop for Marriage registrations.

But, people go through these stress due to sentiments..

You know our people like owanbe too much.

Some will do introduction party, Traditional/engagement, Church ceremony and registry.

That is a different ball game....traditional marriage is good but it doesn't have legal backing. They don't issue certificate in trado ...,even most penticistal churches certificate isn't valid....you need to go to court to update it.

Its mostly catholic and Anglican with Orthodox churches certificate are recognised....most of these embassies won't recognise these one man church.

As an Igbo man....all you have to does pay bride price and do intro the same day. Just take few umunna

It doesn't cost much ...the main thing is bride price

But validity of marriage is in valid legal certificate
Traditional ( Customary Law Marriage) are legally recognized within Nigeria.

But for proper recognition, you need approach the registry with proof of the Customary Law Marriage.

Note: most Pentecostal Churches are now licenced by the registry to issues marriage certificates.

You are right. I actually did my wedding in church and got a registry certificate right there.
Yes that's how it's done now.

The Church Marriage committee/department handle all the process for you.

Even Traditional Marriages have started adopting the method, after the Traditional ceremony you just approach the registry for your certificate.

yes that is very correct, I have seen that happen.A good friend of mine got married in one of these Big churches and two weddings where going on same time. The Registrar was in church that day.

Those claiming they don't want Legalized marriage , should try try approach any foreign embassy without the Legalized marriage certificate. grin

Great stuff, however churches do issue certificate .I had that issued to me at the church I got wedded in but that was not law binding as I had to go to a local registry to obtain one.My friend however arranged for teh registrar to come to church and have it signed there and then but that was for a not so busy Registrar in a quiet and small lGA.
In the Uk the church of England issues wedding certificate and teh Home office are finding it challenging not to accept it cos teh Queen is the head of teh church of England and teh registry is under her royal highness.
Well most Churches in Nigeria are smarter.

These Churches assist their members to the registry and they issue the Government Certificates right in the Church.

These are big Churches, like Catholic, RCCG, Methodist etc

Why are you being silly,,you are here to learn and you are refusing to learn, there is no such thing as court wedding, its called Registry, this is how it is across the world, for Uk to US to Russia to south Africa.
Lawyers go to THE REGISTRY as well
I do not understand why you are finding this difficult to understand.
Oga, don't blame them, most people here are kids.

In the context:

Courts are for Divorce
Registry are for marriages

Irrespective of the type of marriage, all Certificates most come from the registry.

Please i will advise you to withdraw that statement of consent and court wedding since you are not a legal expert or have done a court wedding yourself.
Wedding may take place in a court premises but the certificate is issued by a LGA marriage registry.
What is the confusion here.
If had Church, Mosque, Traditional or in Court premises.

All Certificates most come from the Marriage registry.

There are Two (2) types of Marriage Registries in Nigeria

A. Federal Marriage Registries

a) LAGOS – Ikoyi Registry (covers all those resident in Lagos, South-South, South East and South West)
b) ABUJA – Wuse 2 (covers all those resident in the Northern region)

B. All States have various Registries at the State and Local Government level.
