2n2k: It is the malls (owned by Nigerians) that are commissioned by the governors. Shoprite, Game, etc just happen to be anchor tenants in those malls.
Shoprite and Game stores have a policy of NOT owning the buildings they operate in. Yes ke! Foreign companies don't take the risk of owning properties in Nigeria. But the governor inside shoprite store with microphone, they didn't bother show us the full picture of the Mall. Most of this foreign companies operating in Nigeria, are franchises own by Nigerian politicians. |

Hint: I'm saying exactly the same thing you're saying, only adding that sometimes, when a daughter-in-law insists on gatecrashing, two sets are taken. Since the OP stated that she has joined them(family members) for other Photoshoots, it is immature of her to insist on joining the celebrants kids Photoshoot. Oga, their are Photoshoot for the whole family, Photoshoot for the friends of the family/celebrant and Photoshoot for specifically for the celebrants kids. A matured mind should know where to belong. |

proffemi: Your post is a very sensible one, and reflects how many wise people would approach this matter.
BUT:
Other wise people differ.
OP was not being careless, neither was his family being unreasonable. He does not need to apologize to his wife. There's been a disagreement, but this is not one of those I'm-right-you're-wrong things.
If push comes to shove, I'd say the family is 100% right. When a man marries a good woman, and she's welcomed and told she's now family, nobody takes that to mean that she's now a biological daughter! And neither does she need to become a biological daughter to act as one! Would she for example insist on being recognized by name in the will (for example) of her father-in-law as a child Maturity and careful reflection should help a woman determine in such cases when to assert herself, and when to pipe down.
I've witnessed similar scenarios on numerous occasions, and indeed, there's usually the daughter-in-law who insists she's now family. Often, two sets of pictures are taken, one with the children, and the other with (wink, wink) all the children. It's all fun, usually, but remember, when push comes to shove, she's NOT a biological daughter, and that's perfectly fine. She does not (as you imply) need to see herself as a de jure biological daughter to act as a de facto one. Wrong, in a proper ceremony when call is made for the children of the celebrants photoshoot, it is strictly for children of the celebrants and not in-law. The reasons for that are memorial. The wife should have respected herself and wait for invitations before joining them. It's not her husband's family event and not her husband's. |

freeze001: There is no point attempting to attack my person, I am only playing the game the like to play and I refuse to be unnecessarily sentimental about their useless power games because they're all of one stock ie the APC and their formation was flawed from day one with only one agenda. Now they've got that which they seek, they should deal with their madness. I've no compassion or support for Magu or d DSS or d Presidency or d APC dominated NASS because they are all dirty thieves and Magu is not exempt.
The proper change would have been this:
With this, a lot of rubbish will be avoided but because of too much greed and vested interests to show a set of people as superior to the other, we are in this nonsense today. Is it proper that a supposed serious govt is unable to develop a synergy with the Senate and get appointments settled so that d institutions actually work? I refuse to be part of their political drama because when people like us were pointing out pitfalls, u were all forming supporters club.
For the rebuttal, I maintain my position that for now it is nothing but stories on the news and holds no water in the general scheme of things. If that counter position cannot get into the formal quarters to be considered, it not worth more than the piece of paper it is written on. The bolded part is childish but I'll be the bigger peron and excuse that for now. Kindly ignore @Playa0ne rants. NFF like MDA's? Seriously?
Who appoints the head of NFF and who appoints the heads of MDA's? Duh, FG has been funding the NFF for the past 16years , every football tournament get funds from the youth and sports ministry to NFF. The election of the NFF board is a FIFA rule, but the NFF is still under the ministry of youths and sports. The FG can decide Nigeria isn't going for any football tournament and what NFF will do is cry to FIFA. If the FG withdraw their funding of every football tournament, NFF will go broke. Bye |

Manonamission: If I remember correctly, he prefers the 100% strategy. Do your DD on PZ and UACN. There are many others but I am of the opinion that if the economy stabilizes next year, these two stocks should do a 100% effortlessly. There's little attention on them too. 9M unaudited of PZ is poor but still do your own DD. Consumer goods/conglomerates have a way of passing costs over to consumers. 2017 quarterly results could confirm this.
Disclaimer: Consult your investment adviser. My post could be misleading. Both UACN and PZ belongs to the FMCG industry, their rally depends on CPI. But UACN is vary profitable at the current price, considering the profits they are making from their subsidiarity(CAP PLC, UACN properties etc) |
Politics › Re: Crude Oil Discovered In Borno State....... FG by OBAGADAFFI: 10:51am On Dec 16, 2016 |
QuotaSystem: 1. With regard to tendency towards crime and fraudulent activities within this context, yes.
2. You should be specific because terrorism and IDP's are restricted to the NE, not the entire North, and they are products of Islamic extremism which is not a Northern, but global phenomenon.
3. The IDP situation is a direct offshoot of No. 2 above, and any lapses in management is attributable to the twin factors of the sheer mass of the victims and the current economic recession which leaves government with minimal funds to mitigate the crisis.
Oil exploration in the North will definitely be a different kettle of fish to what currently obtains in the South which is plagued with fraudulent & selfish community leaders and youths that shortchange their own communities, though it's important that the insurgency is eliminated in order to minimize disruptions. But Borno State is also the NE and terrorism is still active in that region. Well my point, is that their no difference between the Northern communities and Southern communities. I once lived in the North, and you will be shocked with what some community leader do for money. |

Politics › Re: Crude Oil Discovered In Borno State....... FG by OBAGADAFFI: 10:17am On Dec 16, 2016 |
QuotaSystem: Wrong. It's the way the oil is managed that determines whether it's a curse or a blessing. Oil is and remains a blessing for other desert nations like Saudi Arabia, UAE and Qatar because of the way it's managed.
I can assure you than you will not find situations where northern youths and community leaders like their southern counterparts, would collude with oil companies to selfishly and irresponsibly collect money from them instead of ensuring that they are environmentally responsible for their activities.
A Niger Delta President abandoned the UNEP report for cleanup of the Niger Delta for 6 years, and it took a Northern President to start its implementation. That says a lot. Are the Northern youths better than their southern counterparts? Are all the crisis and destruction coming from the North caused by the southerners? The IDP situation is a pointer to the fact that mismanagement is not a regional issue but a Nation crisis. Go and investigate lead exploration mess in the north , then come and tell u how oil exploration will be better. |
