Christianity Etc › Re: Oyedepo: "Marriage Vows, For Better For Worse, Sickness And Health" Is A Curse by OBAGADAFFI: 1:21pm On Mar 26, 2019 |
HigherEd: Hmm I u understand why ministers of the faith movement, the likes of Hagin, Oyedepo and Copeland would thoroughly hate that line because most believe the redemption package doesn't permit Christians to be sick or poor in the first place. But the reality is that many Christians live short of God's desire for their divine health and financial prosperity. And you don't want a situation where marriages collapse because of money or health issues.
Therefore, that line though Unscriptural was a necessary innovation from the medieval church to bring marriage partners into a vow bound by death. To ensure that no one jumps ship when things get low - which in many cases it does. In doing so, the church has removed the option of divorcing your partner for circumstantial reasons and reinforced that it would not be part to relationships inspired by benefits only.
My reservation is when major ministries abandon that line it would further weaken people's commitment to lifelong marital covenants.
The only evil the church has been culpable in is not encouraging victims of marital abuse to separate from their abusive spouses - something the church must work on. Faith preachers . |

Abokinah: The Igbos who declared their hospitable host land a "no man's land" will eat all their words by the time we are done with you! This is just the beginning! All markets in Eko shall be remodeled, then you guys will now pay thru your nose to acquire them! No more attachments and squatting. Lagos needs decent markets like Abuja. No more dirty , shady dealings in our markets in Eko! You guys will hear it in the next four years! You heard it here first! Nosy squatters planning to take over! Anuofia! And they will transfer that high cost to the product you buy from them. |

BeautifulMind2: Otondo Trade-fair land is own by FG, Lagos state government has been lobbing since the days of Tinubu for the place, I thought they will succeed during Buhari's first tenure when they where begging FG to handover most of their land and properties to Lagos state government, that's is why I know Fulani can't never hand power to Tinubu's camp go and mark it on the wall, most of the properties are Dawdan barracks Obalende, Naval camp Ikoyi, Police barrack Ikoyi and Ikeja, TBS, Trade-fair, Bonny camp. Lagos state government tried so hard during GEJ he refused, they had an agreement with Buhari he only allowed Presidency house Marina, and national stadium Surulere and National theater Oga, you have so much information. |

jideflash: If the company decides to pay out dividends, the earnings are taxed twice by the government because of the transfer of the money from the company to the shareholders. The first taxation occurs at the company's year-end when it must pay taxes on its earnings. The second taxation occurs when the shareholders receive the dividends, which come from the company's after-tax earnings. The shareholders pay taxes first as owners of a company that brings in earnings and then again as individuals, who must pay income taxes on their own personal dividend earnings.
This may not seem like a big deal to some people who don't really earn substantial amounts of dividend income, but it does bother those whose dividend earnings are larger.
The double taxation also poses a dilemma to CEOs of companies when deciding whether to reinvest the company's earnings internally. Because the government takes two bites out of the money paid as dividends, it may seem more logical for the company to reinvest the money into projects that may instead give shareholders earnings in capital gains. Some companies don't transfer dividend taxes to share holders. |
