Sometimes traveling is not just about making money but creating opportunities for your generation.
First you will live a more decent life, give your kids access to the world, secure their lives to some extent but most importantly you could also make more money if you plan yourself well.
I used to make around 2m before I left but now it’s double yet happier, all my kids are citizens too, do you think your 15m can buy it?

One thing is clear, ONLY the people who do not have a clear understanding of what opportunities are there for the kids will say abroad is a waste of time and resources.

The child should attend Covenant for undergrad and do MSc at an elite university abroad as a graduate student preferably with a scholarship or funding.

People want to have active plan in place, not just HOPE that someday, their child will win scholarship. It is good if your child gets the scholarship, but taking the child abroad from childhood opens him or her to a wide array of opportunities. A lot of talents have wasted because they were limited to the confines of Nigeria.
People don't want their children to be limited based on their location, people want their kids to use things like playing soccer, basketball, dancing, gymnastics to win scholarships to those elite universities at for bachelors, instead of waiting to finish from covenant and then start looking for interview dates at embassy and start looking for 40million naira(it will keep increasing) to fund the child's MSc and then have the child start competing on a global field as an international student where global companies will now start denying the child for some roles because visa sponsorship is stressful for the company(when they actually have a pool of similar talent that they do not have to file for).

If you make up to 1.5M a month pls stay back, make more, invest and build ur own empire. U may earn 3 to 4M a month in UK, Canada, but minus ur rent and bills and u would be shock at what u have left. Japa is for us who hardly make 200 to 300k a month in naija. Anyone with stable 600 to 1.5M monthly income is living a good life in naija.

hmmm na so person go think until its time to send your child to attend university abroad and you discover your 36million naira yearly income will only pay tuition for 1 year, and your child will still need to go and hustle for upkeep on his own, that's assuming dollar does not depreciate further.

He will not see it, Living abroad and doing vacation abroad are 2 different things. So so so different, different experience, different pressure, different necessities, diffferent realities. Living abroad will test and stretch ur endurance, especially in the first 2 years.

I'm a lawyer, called in 2016. I'm married with a kid and I'm in my early 30s. My wife is not working, so I have been the one shouldering the responsibility, despite that, God has given me my own house. Three bedrooms flat in front and three bedrooms flat at the back, all with full pop, water heater, full tiles, in fact all the modern facilities.
In all honesty I made between 600k-1.5m per month.

Just of recent, the zeal to Japa to Canada has been on my mind through school route. I currently have like 7m in my account and I know I could raise it till 15m before the end of the year. The cost of schooling keep giving me issue. How will someone travel abroad and spend over 15m when I could used the money to buy hostel from people who desperately needs money or invest in real estate.

Another concern of mine is that the future of legal profession is reducing because of the amount clients are paying particularly in the area of agreement and other things.

Definitely, I won't be selling the house if I decide to relocate, the rent from the two flats will go to my mom and the least could only be 500k per year. I won't have issues sending money at home.

Please, I really need advice from lawyers that are there, how do you cope migrating. Is it advisable I leave, if yes, what are the first things I might encounter, if am relocating it will be with my family. I just don't want to regret relocating. The exchange rate is just too much

Its even difficult to advice you now. ALthough, ultimately abroad will present you a better life and earning than what u currently earn, the question is that are you ready to go through the early phase of struggle abroad, which may be from 2 to 3 years or maybe more in some cases. Will you moving abroad not endanger your marriage in a way. What exactly are you going to study in Canada? You seem to see little hope with the situation of things in Nigeria and sincerely only u know what u do and ur prospect in what u do. If I were you I would go, the tricky one is the family part whether u can have them go with you(difficult) OR join u in less than 2 years. Again weytin u wan go study matter.

And Why does it have to be Canada, why not PhD in US. Gives you an opportunity to either go with your family immediately OR have them join u as quickly as possible. Gives u that basic stipend that can take care of your family bills, and good health insurance, then whatever u and ur wife make from the other side things u decide to do will surely be more than 600k-1.5m naira u make now. With PhD you also have as much as 5 years to plan whatever you want to plan, and even if e come bad bad bad u have to go back after 5 years(most definitely not likely with your PhD), u will go back better equipped in terms of qualification, exposure and even financially(if u make sound investment choices)

They want to attract top quality migrants but they dont mind collecting tuition from the students that are not top quality. The want to eat their cake and still have it. They will need to create some sort of balance, those ones that are not top quality are the ones doing the shit jobs that their own citizens will not do....
Their own citizens will always need emotional support from family, dogs, cats, lizard, frog , to be able to function and do simple tasks. your fear is a very very valid one, u are smart
this life ehn, to get anything worthwhile u most likely will pay a price. Its now left for you on this journey to decide what price you want to pay, and sincerely that is a personal decision. Personally I would not want to have kids with someone I would divorce, especially in the US where child support is crazy(its beyond money).
If you are not married, why not hold on/out for someone you really like and can build a family/home with. ANd if you are married already, just maybe there are other PRICES u can pay to get what you desire.

Well it depends on what the individual is looking for or what gives makes them fulfilled. I totally agree with you those 2 places are great in their own ways, but based on what I personally want, US gives me a better chance.

Fact still remains that some organizations sponsor International Students for H1B. I think what you can say with respect to the employers' market will be the fact that most do not pay so great which unfortunately, is the trade off one has to go through.

A lot of People on H1B still looking out for who to get married to. H1B is tricky, ur organization sponsors you, then u enter a lottery pool. You live in a constant state of uncertainty, ur visa and stay in the country is conditioned on being with that your organization. With massive random layoff these days, H1B is an unstable route, still a very good one though.
