TheArchangel:That is exactly my point, I am shell shocked at the reactions of 'some' people who claim to be from the SE and SS and who claim to be defending the interests of the zones since this saga broke. I am very much opposed to the fact that the coastal rail project is being jeopardised and the funds diverted to the Lagos-Kano rail. I expected people of the SE and SS to naturally fight for this injustice to be immediately reversed, and the budget for the coastal rail returned. But that obviously is not the case, most have turned it into a Yoruba vs Igbo tribal war and I am greatly shocked at the reactions I have seen so far which drives me to wonder how any normal human would chose to cut their head off to spite their nose. If the project funds were diverted to fund seaports or other viable projects in the regions, then it is understandable, but for crying out loud, the funds were diverted to the Lagos-Kano line and some silly constituency projects in the north. My dear, the proverb you dropped is more suited for you and your colleagues who aren't speaking in favour of the reversal of this mess. |
Realman87:It is this bit of the reasoning that completely dumbfounds me. Kindly tell me how a rail line going from Calabar-Uyo-IkotEkpene-Aba-PH-Yenagua-Ughelli-Warri-Sapele-Benin-Lagos will benefit the SW more than the people of the SS and SE?... This reasoning is equivalent to saying the East-West road or the Onitsha-Benin-Lagos road benefits or is used more by SW people than the SS and SE. Is there really any written rule somewhere that says Nigerians must try to tribalise everything because we mostly end up making a mockery of ourselves in the process? Nobody argues that a seaport isn't useful, but just like the seaport, the importance of a modernised rail transport system can never be downplayed; there is a reason why a robust modern rail system is a typical feature in developed economies. |
OfoIgbo:Okay, this coastal rail project benefits the SS more than the SE so the entire opposition of ipob youths for this project is beginning to make sense. You don't give a damn if it benefits the SS, and you don't give a damn if part of the future plans is to have a spur from benin to onitsha, the project must not continue as long as it benefits the SS (which feeds the nation) more than the SE, bravo!!!. But I wonder how your online opposition will stop the SS from benefitting from this if it comes to pass. |
TheArchangel: TheArchangel: asha80:My bad, I didn't see the map posted earlier, I was only quoting the statement by the minister for transport at 05:20min in the video below where he stated there would be a spur from Benin-Onitsha. But come to think of it, why should I even believe a map (which is probably old) over a most recent statement by the minister?... Even if the rail crosses only Aba, @TheArchangel, are you suggesting that the SS (which feeds the entire nation) doesn't deserve a modern rail system traversing its domain because no modern rail has passed through several SE cities?... You need to grow up and stop being self-centred. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KE2XYj9Id4 |
TheArchangel:Well, sorry, you can't have it all. Everybody would like a rail line to pass their door-mouth and in fact, have a station right outside their gates. But that is impossible, the rail connectivity project must start from somewhere and the phase we are in right now is the Lagos-Kano and Lagos-Calabar lines. Obasanjo did the Ajaokuta-Warri standard gauge line, GEJ did the Abuja-Kaduna standard gauge line, Buhari hopes to start the Lagos-Calabar and Lagos-Kano standard gauge line. I see nothing wrong with the plan and I know one day, it will get to every major city of Nigeria. The last time I checked, Buhari is the president of Nigeria and not you so you have no right to tell him what to do or how he will do it (Besides, this is just fulfilling a rail modernisation master-plan which has been in existence since OBJ's first tenure so it is not even Buhari's plan). Now to get your exact point, are you suggesting that the present Lagos-Calabar line plan be scrapped because it passes more SS cities than SE cities?.... Are you by any chance suggesting that the SS people are irrelevant and don't deserve a robust high speed rail system in their domain or are you suggesting that the SS doesn't deserve a modern rail system until after a rail has been passed through every major city in the SE?.... Is this just a case of diabolic self-centredness or is this just a case of you wailing and protesting because you feel you have a duty to oppose any and everything Buhari proposes? |
TheArchangel:What do you mean by 'only the southernmost tip of aba'?.... was the rail suppose to turn around aba township like an intracity metro before you agree it has gone through Aba?.... What sort of odious reasoning is this?.... Since GEJ lost this election, what sort of affliction have befallen Igbo youths?.... okay just like the poster above asked, did you wail over this project when GEJ was in power?... cos the plans for this project have been around for over 10 years. |
TheArchangel:What is even wrong with some of you wailers?... Is it any and everything you oppose?.... It is called the coastal rail and yes, it goes through all the coastal states, but with a stop at Aba and a spur from Benin to Onitsha; what else do you want before you understand that it is a good project?.... Ar you suggesting that a major project like this which benefits the entire SS should be scrapped because it would benefit the SS more than the SE?... Is this a case of evil selfishness that makes you hate the fact project goes through the SS?... or is it just a case of just senseless short-sightedness that makes you think a high speed train which connects Onitsha and Lagos and also Aba would not be beneficial to the SE?.... Once again, is it everything that we must play politics of division with? And by the way, the 2nd Niger bridge was never suspended by anyone but for the unavailability of funds for it in the 2015 budget. Nobody ever planned to stop the project and it is evil devisive souls like yourself that keep spreading this rumour of the bridge being cancelled by this govt purely to create disaffection and hate. God pass una and this evil folly will only consume you. Never in my life have I seen humans who are truly willing to cut their heads off to spite their nose. |
Oxenomy:You heard the transport minister in the video mentioning with his mouth, the towns where the proposed standard rail is meant to cross but you say you need a reliable source. There is no need to show you any map cos it is obvious your prejudice towards amaechi/buhari/apc has blocked your ability to be objective. 33xtr9r:Once again, you are nobody to talk for the SE let alone the SS. The rail goes through the SS and touches some SE cities, it is called the coastal railway and it is a highly welcome development. If this is supposed to be opposition, then I've never in my life seen this kind of foolish opposition where humans almost literally cut their heads off to spite their nose. Your senseless wailing and prejudice for amaechi/buhari/apc obviously makes you wish bad for the SE so you can justify your irrational hatred for apc. But this your wickedness will not fly, development will come to the SE and SS. All of you opposed to this project all because of some foolish tribal/regional politics, your mentalities all stink, Tufia! |
Hahaha... PDP going down as a useless regional party. They can keep playing tribal and religious divide politics. Even APGA is becoming national ![]() |
Everything in Nigeria is turned to foolish politics and every emeka, tunde and yusuf myopically becomes a political theorist, albeit dumb ones. What have Nigerian youths been turned into for Christ sake? How did the minds of Nigerian youths get so depraved to even think in this manner?... For all those in this thread saying they do not want a high speed rail, you guys should kindly speak for daft selves; there are many who need it. Op, the proposed rail passes through the entire SS region and it passes the SE city of Aba before getting to PH. There is also a spur from benin to Asaba and Onitsha. Quit playing dumb politics with everything. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KE2XYj9Id4 |
Mopolchi: Mopolchi:Yes you aren't justifying it, but from your statement which I quoted, you obviously imply that the fulani marauders started killing and sacking communities ''because buhari became president,' a very meaningless assertion if you ask me because the marauders have been marauding without hindrance since time immemorial. If they could kill freely under OBJ, Yaradua and GEJ, so kindly tell me why it would have been a better option voting GEJ who couldn't do jack about them and who didn't even speak? I'm sure you have no answer to this question but you obviously just use every opportunity (even disconnected events) to weep and wail about your candidate losing an election ages ago. |
33xtr0r:Okay I may be wrong in my assertions, but kindly explain the rationale behind people wishing hurt on themselves just to prove a political point?.... On more than one occasion I have encountered some strange characters saying PMB/APC should take away 'their' projects from the SE/SS, how do you explain such degenerative mentality? |
Emekamex:First of all, not everyone you encounter online is inherently silly enough to be given to the tribal games or to play politics with any and everything even to my own detriment (you can go read my posts). I do not know what you mean by "y'all masturbating and making fun of the SE." On the thread whose link you shared, I remember sharing exactly the same feelings which I expressed earlier; the 2nd Niger bridge was never cancelled and as a matter of fact, it was set aside as a priority project. Here is my post from the thread you shared so next time, try not to generalise: obailala:With these info available to the public, I strongly believe that those who still spread this falsehood about the bridge being abandoned are just devilishly trying to distort public opinion and fuel more hatred for Buhari/APC (c'mon man, next elections are very far away so it's too early for this). Regarding the 2nd Niger Bridge, the Lagos-Calabar rail, the resuscitation of dead ports or building of new ones in the SS/SE and any other major economic projects, I am in total support of anything that uplifts the economy of these zones. Contrary to your quick assumptions, I am from the SE zone (even though I totally support PMB and do not support balkanisation); I would not be silly enough to politicise projects that could be beneficial to me and my family so try and stop your generalisations. Furthermore, irrespective of where a project is located, I would never be childish/foolish enough to oppose something that can uplift the nation; not everything should be politicised. |
Emekamex:Some of you have a toxic heart of hatred which only magnets falsehoods to nurture your hatred. Kindly explain how the ministry of works shelved the 2nd Niger bridge project? The last time I checked, it was one of the prioritised projects in the budget of the ministry of work. I'm sure this is the falsehood some devils have been spreading in the SE to ferment hatred and create a silly justification for your hatred for APC/Buhari, but you will surely be disgraced; lies always have an expiry date. |
GreatSE:How can jobs be created for a railway project that hasn't begun? |
GreatSE:Considering that the refineries in the nation have all already packed up, how does Dangote building a refinery in the SW stop investors from building refineries in the SE? |
dondo83:Sometimes you need to ignore the foolishness proceeding from some of those imbeciles who claim they are speaking for the SS/SE. Some of these guys lost their sanity since Jonathan lost the election. In order to justify their hatred and decision to reject APC/Buhari, they fervently pray everyday that no developmental projects should be done in the SE/SS. In their hearts, they would be very sad if the Buhari/APC whom they hate does more for the SE/SS zones in terms of infrastructural development than the one they call their hero; more than once, I have read comments like "Buhari should take his projects to the north and SW, 'WE' don't need his railway." These guys fervently pray for doom in the nation, they celebrate the current economic hardship and they rejoice at any hint of bad news. They have sold their minds and souls to the devil and have been rewarded with foolishness. Sometimes they really don't deserve a response. |
Mopolchi:Were fulani herdsmen not killing people before this administration?... Is Buhari the first northern president to rule Nigeria and will he be the last?... If Jonathan had won the election, wouldn't the presidency still have been revolved back to the north in 2019?.... Why do you jonathanians always display myopic reasoning on national issues?... Apparently in your head, fulani killing is a political justification why everyone should have voted your jonathan, and one would begin to wonder what GEJ did about the killings when he was president. Must you play politics with everything including human lives? You guys should just grow up out of your infancy and sink it into your skull that GEJ has lost the election over a year ago and cannot lead Nigeria any more. |
2cato:What exactly do you want him to do because his people are slaughtered?... Support Jonathan? ![]() |
samogo1:Oh yes they knew the problems they were going to inherit and they knew it was going to take time to stabilise things and move the nation forward. The only persons involved in the blame games here are the evil men who created the problems originally and their confused supporters who are wailing and mounting pressure on the new government to solve the problems their heroes created in one day. |
bejeiodus:What lie did the presidency lie? |
All these useless blogs that are incapable of verifying even the most basic information. Several people have unknowingly been spreading this stale news for weeks now both on NL and on facebook. And even with all the clarifications that this is stale news, NL mods have eventually put trash on the frontpage. ![]() |
TrumpDonald:Wishful thinking... With the prolonged high BP that is still worrying jonathanians today (1 year after election), I cant imagine the triple high BP that would happen in 2019 when PDP loses again ![]() www.nairaland.com/attachments/1935021_goathead_jpg58c9135e15c847001910ac9a4ffd97bc |
I wouldn't want to imagine what would happen if a person takes a loan from the haramites and defaults in the repayment. ![]() |
Fellywood:Lol.. the joke is on you bro... 16 months ago, nobody ever believed Buhari would contest, let alone win or rule Nigeria again. I remember the GEJ till 2019 and till infinity crew excusing and laughing at me then ![]() gimakon:Na you wan kill am?... THe way this man has been travelling every 2 weeks, I as a young man would have waned out if I travelled that frequently. |
They tried bokoharam, we subdued them, they trued ipob, that phase passed, now it seems they are trying the fulani herdsmen's murderous approach. But God still pass them. |
babyoy:Everything isnt politics you know. There are criminals out there who want to feed irrespective of who is in power. |
PRXPERT:Apologies if my generalised opinion irks you. But I was seriously appalled by the responses I got in a similar thread, hence my generalisations. |
YES I would! Before the elections I actually knew things would turn out like this and it was very clear for any discerning mind to see especially when the reserves fell by $10bn in barely 6 months to $28bn, the Naira fell rapidly from 160 to 220, GDP growth rate fell from 6-7% to 2% and the FG was already borrowing to pay salaries. Besides, Prof Soludo clearly predicted this and NOI also predicted this even when oil was still selling above $65. Under such dire situation, I trusted buhari more to handle the hard times than GEJ who couldnt say NO to his thieving friends. Everything wrong in the economy started going wrong as soon as oil prices began to crash, and that was under GEJ. So it is only ignoramuses that would compare the high oil price days (when money was surplus) to these low oil price days (when money is scarce). It was clearly predicted by experts that things would be bad and I knew it would definitely have been worse if GEJ and his incompetence was still in charge under these low oil price days; all any sensible person need do is to examine the economy in the last 6 months of GEJ to appreciate this fact. Hardcore jonathanian wailers wouldnt understand this though. |
tuale4u:Sometimes you dont need to respond to some of the imbeciles you meet online who believe anyone with a contrary opinion from their cannot be from the SS or SE. It's difficult to completely ignore them though. |
saintikechi: saintikechi:My Ikechi, no apologies but you are irredeemably daft character. You claim GEJ handed over power generation of over 4000mw, no body argues with you about the installed power generating capacity of the country. After all, the power generating capacity in the country today is over 5000mw, but the issue being discussed is how much of power is actually being generated. As at the time of GEJ's handover in May 2015, power generation in the country fell to as low as 1327mw, just the same way it fell to 2000mw and even zero recently (the excuse has always been pipeline vandalism). So quit being a dafto by posting links to news reports of 2014 when I have already presented more recent debunking reports from 2015. Regarding the links I sent you, your exbitch obviously bleeped the last brains out of your skull reducing you to a screwed rettard, else I do not understand what the links I posted have to do with your dumb exbitch. I have a good memory of what happened to power generation in May 2015 (it's less than a year ago) and all I needed to do was a simple google search to dig up those links. If you truly saw the links I posted on this site, then I am probably the one who first used the links to deflate the ignorance of someone like you. |
ba7man:You know I've actually been wondering whether that guy is an slowpoke or a normal human or just a robot programmed to be stupidd. He claims that power generation when GEJ handed over was steadily above 4000mw. I showed him several reports which stated that power fell to as low as 1327mw in May 2015, but he still insists on his argument and then returns with a news report from September 2014 which said power peaked at 4044mw. I can't understand whether he can't read or whether he's just programmed to be silly, but he still insists he knows what he's talking about. Abeg make una help me ask am whether him dey okay ![]() |
