Who are these dumbos who keep asking if the project was originally in the budget?... What kind of silly question is that?.... If the Lagos-Calabar rail project wasn't in the budget, so how could something which wasn't in the budget be 'removed' from the budget? So why is it news if it wasnt ever in the budget? |
saintikechi:Delusion of grand proportions; you are either suffering from selective amnesia or you are just suffering from ignorance, or maybe it's just a case of sentiments blocking your ability for objective judgement. After squandering all your money on God knows what, the very second oil prices began to drop, GEJ your hero could not pay fuel importers their bills accruing from August 2014 till May 2015 when he handed over. Let me remind you of what happened in May 2015 under your GEJ since you claim to have forgotten, Nigeria suffered the worst fuel scarcity ever in history where banks had to close for business and airlines had to park their planes because there was a total lack of fuel. That is what you get when you irresponsibly spend money because you think it is plenty and then when the money dissappears, everything falls apart. Just a reminder to you that oil prices have since fallen to about half of what it was GEJ was handing over. I dont expect you to understand the implications of that though. Did you just say GEJ gave you uninterrupted power supply?.... Did you just say GEJ gave you constant light?... Idi sure na idi okay? Your sense of history has obviously been deflated by some stinking tribal/ethnic/religious bigotry. |
denko:You are right, I can't claim that I saw it in the budget too, but I cant also claim I saw the last version of the budget. But then again, if it was never in the budget, so why is it news?... Why is it news that something which was never in the budget has been removed?.... |
livebullet:OIL PRICE; anyone that does not yet appreciate the link between the present economic downturn and the oil crises is not worthy of an explanation cos even if explanations are given from now till next year, they would be too intellectually challenged or too angry to understand. As for those who claim it would have been better if the last useless locust administration continued, it would be in order to say such persons are suffering from selective amnesia, cos as at the time the last useless admin handed over, Nigeria was crippled by the worst fuel scarcity in history. Even though oil prices were still double what it is today, the last useless admin claimed it was also oil price which led to the scarcity of last year. A GEJ who enjoyed unprecedented oil revenue but couldn't build a single make-shift modular refinery, neither could he even save anything in the forex reserves for at least, there could have been some disposable forex to import more fuel today and the present scarcity wouldn't have been the case. But here we are, a confused Jonathanian claims GEJ was better. |
OLD NEWS!!! cc: Mynd44 |
Why is everyone digging up this old news?... Where is this confusion coming from? cc: Mynd44 |
denko:But the man who doesn't care about 5% budgeted billions for a projects in 5% zone and 5% senators cheered on while the senate removed the projects. Now the same man who hates the 5% has rejected the budget and returned it to the senate for the removed projects to be re-included, but some of you are insulting the man of being confused and delaying. You know before now I really underestimated the psychological damage that could arise from people having their preferred candidate losing an election. But it is now clear a lot of people are still in psychological trauma. |
xcuggsm:What is so articulate about assuming the purpose of building the Lagos-Calabar rail is mainly to carry goods?...What ever happened to humans? |
TheFreeOne:Sometimes I wonder why supposed adults reason like infants. For any mentally sound human with basic comprehension abilities, what is confusing about the fact that, since our refineries are presently rotten, it is more profitable at the moment to import fuel than to run the rotten refineries?.... And to remedy this situation, licenses are being issued to investors to build new efficient refineries. For the love of God, where has the brains of some Nigerian youths gone to? |
Amitex:The last time I checked, the Lagos-Kano line is also on the same 'concession.' |
mployer:Illiterate youths all over the place calling others illiterate. *spits* |
drss:Stop nagging man... I dont know what the cost was or tha amount she was accused of or how the case eventually ended, but the main allegation against Diezani was about the cost of chartering the plane. |
OgbonnaUbani:Like I said, you need help. Buhari is not your problem and neither am I. |
OgbonnaUbani:Go and see a psychologist. You need help. |
If my memory serves me right, the problem with Diezani wasnt the use of the hired jet, rather it was the vast amount she claimed she spent chattering the jet. |
OgbonnaUbani:Fool because he supports buhari? |
9jamentors:In the very utterance where Mbaka supported PMB over GEJ, he clearly stated that there would be much suffering at the beginning but things would get better later. Pretty simple if you ask me. |
Geniro:Okay sorry, you win!... Buhari is an incompetent thief. Hopefully I can now enjoy my Friday evening beer in peace. |
mekaboy:Oh. It has returned to general wailings?... oya bye! |
1wolex85:It's frustrating seeing the way people wish themselves and their nation so much evil because they think they are opposing Buhari. If things go completely south, no matter how bad things get, Buhari and his entire extended family would be comfortable, but some of these guys totally dont give a damn, they just want to oppose any and everything even if it would clearly hurt them. |
mekaboy:What manner of reasoning is this?.. So if I come online and say APC will do A or B, does that mean "APC said A or B"? Nigeria is suffering from a negative balance of trade presently, the amount of forex coming in is less than the forex going out. That's why the CBN has imposed those biting restrictions to limit the forex going out and prevent our reserves from falling to zero. Yes it is killing businesses and it is increasing sufferings, but if the restrictions aren't there, the reserves would have run out since and the sufferings you have now would be nothing compared to the pestilence that would follow if reserves drop to zero. No amount of foreign investments can instantly bridge the gap in forex demand. Oh yes the forex reserves is still going down, but at least almost 1 year down the line, it hasn't dropped by up to $1bn from what Buhari met and this is because of these restrictions. Remember in the last 6 months of GEJ when these forex restrictions weren't there, the reserves fell by $10bn in 6 months. That was even when most of the foreign investors were still there. I'm sure you know it's been 11 months since Buhari took over, you can only imagine what would have been the case now if the restrictions weren't put. The FG/CBN is sticking its neck out and even sacrificing some businesses to save the larger society but you just can't see that because you prefer to hate Buhari and anything he does. This is common sense but your prejudice towards the govt wouldn't let you give a damn. How can you hate you country so bad all because you want to hate Buhari?... I don taya for una! |
gentleheart1:It beats my imagination how an ignorant person just comes online and starts exposing her ignorance and also insults people too. Jesus Christ! Madam do you know the difference between ECA and forex reserves?... You obviously have no clue yet you just called someone daft. ![]() |
mekaboy:You know exactly what what you are doing is called?.. It's called nagging!... Quit nagging boy. If you are angry, go out there and get a chilled bottle of beer, if you can't afford it, hang out with your friends who can and quit lamenting from point A to point B cos you are obviously deviating from the point of this thread into general wailing. Regarding fuel subsidy and many more, the govt is not confused, rather you are the one who has failed to comprehend a simple explanation. Landing cost of fuel fell below the govt fixed price so subsidy payment stopped and the govt pocketed and saved the excess. Today the landing cost has risen above the fixed price so the govt has resumed payment of the difference (subsidy); the govt isn't confused in this, rather you are the one confused about the simple explanation. Again regarding forex, there is a serious shortfall in forex supply so the govt is trying to save your asss by restricting its distribution, but you obviously want the govt to open CBN vaults as the exploitative foreign powers advise, and then after 3 months, when the country runs out of forex reserves and the pestilence starts, we would be a failed state like Venezuela etc and you will jump up in your suffering and blame Buhari. Yet today you pitch your tents with foreign slave drivers and exploiters of 3rd world countries because you think opposition entails that you MUST stand against any and every decision of the president you hate. Guy, go drink beer abeg! or alternatively, gaa kporo otu nwa agbogho lakpuo and stop worrying me ![]() |
All these strange statistics sef ![]() |
Pidggin:What do you think a budget is?..... So you think all the money made from daily crude sales would be kept in a savings account to be used for expenses next year? ![]() My dear, if I am to borrow your words, YES! we run a hand-to-mouth system of government, the budget document contains a forecast of how much the nation HOPES to make in the year and how it plans to spend the money. |
Geniro:The total value of the anomalies (paddings) when summed up wasn't up to 1% of the total budget. So please hold your peace, you aren't talking to a kid. And by the way, a surgical cleaning has been done by the NASS to remove those anomalies hence the budget value fell from N6.08 to N6.06 trillion, the president hasn't also refused to sign the passed budget pending when he does his own surgical review; so quit deceiving yourself, this will be the cleanest budget in Nigeria's history. |
Pidggin:That oil prices fall does not mean the country does not sell oil daily. The money gotten from oil sales is used to fund the government; the estimate of money to be made and money to be spent has already been captured in the prevailing budget. In a nutshell, the money spent on those foreign trips weren't necessarily moneys saved in any particular account. |
mekaboy:What is money?... I suppose I am talking to an adult or at least an older teenager?... A nation loses almost 70% of its income and you claim not to know what that entails in the business climate? What silly economic policy are you talking about?... Besides the pressure on Buhari to devalue the Naira, what else is this so called 'economic policy'?... The exiting foreign investors simply want the Naira devalued so they can make mega profits; they also want CBN vaults opened so they can gain free access and repatriate forex to their home countries to the detriment of Nigeria and Nigerians. The FG/CBN's refusal to do assent to these exploitative demands is responsible for the dubious foreign exploiters arm-twisting and leaving Nigeria. To hell with them! |
Geniro:This source says Jonathan spent $8.26bn, Yaradua $5.375bn and OBJ $16bn http://www.ibtimes.com/nigerian-senate-probe-goodluck-jonathan-previous-administrations-mismanaged-funds-2053823 http://allafrica.com/stories/201508140826.html http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/08/power-sector-senate-probes-obj-yaradua-jonathan/ http://www.channelstv.com/2015/02/20/president-jonathan-commissions-750-megawatts-power-plant/ |
Geniro:You asked of the essence of having a high budget in time of recession, I gave you the answer. In your confusion, you diverted the story to padding. Budget padding is part and parcel of Nigeria's corrupt history, but for the first time in history, the padding is being fought and cleaned out of our budget, that is progress whether you like it or not. Several evidences of padding in past budgets have just been shown to you. Your GEJ did not even request to see budget details before he signed successive budgets, so there goes your folly. |
Geniro:You are the one insulting your ancestors... To whom brain is given, sense is expected. I suppose you have a brain in your skull?... You should be able to do a simple google search to learn the simple economic logic of increasing spendings on infrastructure to boost the economy at hard times like this. |
