SirShymex: Stark illiterate - you're like a gift that keeps on giving. Obviously, English language isn't your forte like majority of folks who occupy this forum. So, I'll break it down for you in simple terms.Foool!! Swallow your pride and accept reality! Listen to yourself! Does MasterCard require biometrics to verify ATM transactions? Stop displaying your folly and cover your face in shame. |
xier: To further add from gathered and reliable information, NIMC's relationship with Mastercard is simply transactional and has absolutely nothing to do with your biometric information which is stored in a database located somewhere in Nigeria but unknown to about 99.9% staff members of NIMC because of security reasons. If the Commission will hide this information from her own staff members, why would it release your biometric information to an outsider. The card as a payment solution is not even tied to Access Bank nor any bank account. If you need to use your card as a payment solution, you simply walk into any Access Bank and they will load the card with whatever amount you want them to load it with. You will pay the bank a commission for service rendered and will walk out of the bank with your loaded card not tied to any bank account. Ask questions before you open your mouth to praise or condemn. Thanks bro. This isn't rocket science. I didn't even need an insider to understand what is actually going on. Nigerians can be so pathetic..its sad! |
SirShymex: Like I said earlier, you're a stark illiterate! You and your ilk are the reason why Nigeria is a shiithole!Mr. Man did you do English in school, that's if you even went to one? Did you read the first paragraph in your quote? What you highlighted is a generic statement of what MasterCard has done in the past. It didn't state that MasterCard is storing our biometrics. To the best of my knowledge Cryptovision is providing NIMC with the technology to do this themselves. Olodo! ![]() |
xier: Some comments on this topic sincerely shows how illiterate most of us are. How can we have symbol of mastercard or even visa on the International Passport, the drivers's licence or even the voter's card when they are not equipped as payment solutions. The new e-identity card is a General Multi-purpose Card and for me, this is kudos to not Mr President nor to the DG of NIMC but to Nigerians for a job well done. Someone will ask, why did they not use Verve and I will quickly ask, which of the verve cards work abroad when even in Nigeria, verve doesn't work on all ATMs. Our new e-identity card can be used as a payment solution in any part of the world and as such must operate through an internationally accepted payment platform. If I may ask, why have we not asked why our banks issue us with ATM cards with Mastercard or Visa logos. We think are sounding patriotic by condemning this giant step in the right direction but I can bet we are rather showing how uninformed we are. Since we are talking about securing our data, how come your passport reads when we travel to other parts of the world. What information exactly do you think they see and what do they reconcile it with? For once in your life, commend government and it will not take away anything good from you.God bless you my brother. You couldn't have said it any better! |
SirShymex: This is from the article:Most Nigerians, including you are illiterates. That statement comes from the gross misunderstanding of the actual situation, and you're there highlighting it as a fact to base your conclusion on. Shows how educated you are. My conclusion is based from a statement from Mr. President and not mass speculation. I maintain my stand until I know otherwise. |
SirShymex: So, in Nigeria, when you open a bank account, they take your biometrics (fingerprints, eye retinas etc.), no? Do you even know what biometrics mean? Mr. Jonathan said.Bro read the article again! MasterCard is handling transactions not biometrics. Gosh! |
GodMode: only political f:ools like you think stupidly... no one cares if its GEJ'S admin cos all politicians are the same.... The west is experimenting with Nigeria but you're too dull to see beyond your nose.Only an eediot like you isn't bothered about security when you use your ATM but come on public platforms to display your ignorance and stupidity. Who processes your ATM transactions? Isn't it MasterCard and Visa? U must be a pathetic joker to think they don't have your data... The write up never even said MasterCard is storing sensitive data. They're just handling the transactions carried out with card. Illiterates like you with no common sense just spewing trash everywhere.. Cold blooded retardd! |
There's absolutely something wrong with your friend. TF? Who does that I'm sure he finds nothing wrong undressing in front of his mum too. |
Nigerians would always look for what to criticize. How many people among those talking don't use an ATM with the MasterCard or Visa logo. You weren't bothered about security when you were using it to make all your transactions I guess? So what makes this so different? Because it's coming under GEJ's administration haters will always have something to say. Hypocrisy at its peak! I'm not of the opinion that MasterCard will compromise our data, however I feel it's of no significance implementing a payment function in the identity cards. |

pappyrose: I think age and experience play a serious role in this. Another thing that I think contributed to mine was that people started insulting me for never taking anything serious. I made joke out of every issue either serious or trivial issues, I had to start learning how to 'couple'. I only catch fun with my inner caucus but when I'm in d midst of unfamiliar people, I play very safe cos I don't want to be embarrassed.Very true..i get so hyper with my close friends that they think i'm going crazy at times...lol. Good to know i share similarities with a lot of people tho.. sometimes i just wonder if i'm alone in my own world ![]() |
blink182: My friend e clear say you never follow women well well, you can not study a woman enough and there's no perfect marriage or anything even near it. What I look for is peace, a woman that gives peace. If you think courting a woman for long will fully expose her then you will be shocked.Different strokes for different folks. I don't claim to be a love expert but 6 months is quite short in my opinion. So gladly have it your way ![]() |
blink182: lol, well that's your pattern. I have never been in a relationship for up to one year at a stretch. I am very fast at profiling personality, if the girl talks a lot, after 5 meetings I know who she is. If she's reserved then it takes longer. I know what I want in a woman and I may know my wife for less than 6 months before we get married.Hmmn...6 months? Oh well, I tend to study people quickly too, but I should give at least a year for courtship. That's fair enough considering you're making a decision to spend the REST OF YOUR LIFE with her. There should be no rooms for mistakes. Mind you, some girls can fake a personality for that long and that begs for taking extra caution before making up your mind. |
pappyrose: U ve simply described me here. Sometimes I feel I'm too complex and people close to me say I am. I used to be an extrovert and somehow, I started withdrawing to myself till I got to this point. Sometimes I wish I could do without people. Can relate with that. Sometimes I guess there's a transition point between being introvert and extrovert in a person's life. My mum usually says if anyone told her I'd be this calm, she wouldn't have ever believed. As a child I was definition of extrovert and a real noise and trouble maker. Lol. I know something is usually responsible for this transition, but I wonder what it is. Ultimately, I'm glad I made the switch cos I love who I am now ![]() |

blink182: @32? Haba, this is bad advise. By 32 I should be done with having kids.Lool..was just being sarcastic tho So it's now he sees it needful to start a relationship? God knows how long they'll spend getting to know each other, before actual courting begins, then marriage. He should be approaching 40 by then. |
Keep playing around bro..there's still much time to get a gf. |
Really hot mamas! |
I think you should be asking why most guys don't use their pictures, not the other way round; because the feature was made to be used. I think most guys who have gf's leave flirty comments on NL, so they just wanna be lowkey while they play around to avoid getting busted. . |
This is what I call medicine after death. Why didn't you try identifying the root of the problem in your 2nd or third year. I know what being first class means, so, if you truly fell from a first class to a 2'2 then it's quite pathetic and i must admit something went wrong on your part. Nothing much can be done now except trying to make the best of your current status, perhaps seeing if you can push up to a 2'1. Masters should be what you should consider next and not acquiring a second degree. You're a lady and you should be conscious of time; but a guy can comfortably take that decision. Inasmuch as acquiring a good result isn't the only key to success, it makes your life much more easy and opens more opportunities for you. So concentrate on being extraordinary in your Masters. Good luck! |
chygoz3: The data loss wiped out data from January to May. 104 people were chosen.104 only? Recently read an article online that said 200 were chosen. 104 was probably for the first edition. |
Interesting thread. It's really cool to meet up with like-minded people... An introverts party wouldn't be a bad idea after all...lol As for my experience, I've come to understand myself better and I'm so proud of myself and glad that God made me in such a unique way. During my secondary school days I found it really hard to make friends or even approach people. My social life was literally nonexistent and occasionally I cried as I thought there was something wrong with me. It was a miserable period of my life and was quite depressing. I started reading books to find out why I was like that and learnt so much that really boosted my self-confidence. Ever since then I've been able to make the best of my personality. I challenge my self sometimes to do things that I naturally wouldn't e.g initiating conversations, especially with girls..etc ![]() To those who still find it as a big challenge, I'll advise you just accept your personality and the fact that you're special. We Rock! We're made for great things! |
blink182: are you certain about this? What bb10 device are you using? I was also hoping for price reduction of the z30, well if nothing happens by next year then I have no choice.yh..dont expect the price of subsequent bb devices to fall like before. I'm using a z10. |
Nice review @op. Those of you waiting for the price of BB devices to come down under this new BlackBerry management will be in for a very big surprise. The blackberry 10 OS is the best in the world!...especially the 10.3, it's crazyyy!!! Just installed the leak, couldn't wait for the official..lol ![]()

kennyone: As regards how it ended, i don't know what to say. What i know is that those who got it have since resumed in their respective schools. Though not all. The disaster that wiped out the data on nairaland won't allow you guys to see how it eventually ended.Oh well, thanks. I thought that data loss ish happened sometime around may or June, but there's no post between January and then. Let's hope for the best this time. Any idea how many were chosen? |

sifo: The hour has comeLol..yes oo. The much awaited hour. ![]() |
Hello guys, just came across this thread. Why the silence all of a sudden? How did the whole process turn out finally? Anyone here who was chosen? This year's edition is on and I just need to know how it ended up last year. Thanks |
