Cant believe this clown is actually our President. I was highly embarrassed after watching this. No one should ever call GEJ clueless again.

am so greatful for you response evidence of one to two month accommodation will it accept at the point of entry?
Like i said it varies from immigration officer to officer. But it's always better to act on the safe side. If you can convince them well enough with that, then it should be no problem.

Yes school fees
Get wire transfer details for your school and head to your bank with admission letter, international passport, statement of fees, etc. You will need to fill a form A for that. You can specifically call your bank to find out the requirement.

Quick one. I'm a lil confused on the embassy forms to fill, been seeing conflicting lists. Could someone help me list out the docs (name or code) of the forms I am to download and print.
When using paper route do I fill the form with a pen or on the computer before I print? If on the computer, what program do I use?
You don't need to download the form from any other source than the CIC website. When you fill their questionnaire on the site, it generates a personal code for you which you input when you want to begin with the application. The code generates the list of documents you need to submit based on the questionnaire you filled. From there you can download.

can I defer my admission for a semester or session after I receive my TRV so that I work before going back to school? also will evidence of tuition deposit and accommodation be ask at the POE
Do you mean working here in Canada? If so the answer i think is yes because your study permit also gives you authorization to work. Evidence of tuition deposit is usually required by most immigration officers. But i've learnt of certain cases where some officers didn't ask. I however advice that you get an evidence of payment, even if its not full.

Hi NL family. Greetings to you all from Manitoba, Canada. I'm sorry I couldn't update the house earlier. Due to personal reasons I had to move my flight from December 30th to this January. So far it's been a wonderful experience, but the cold here is something else. Yesterday it was - 18 degrees. I could feel my eye balls freezing up embarassed Na so I just dey talk say seriously we take our weather in naija for granted. Lol. I now understand why the whites are really orderly, because you can't misbehave with this kind of cold grin

I'm glad that God made my TV journey and many others on this thread a success and I pray for all those still expectant to receive positive news. For those who got denied recently, don't give up just yet. Just keep your faith up and restrategize. May God crown our efforts with glory. Amen.

Mehn...banks are refusing to send fees through Western Union. Thanks to the scarcity of dollars embarassed If I decide to do a bank wire, i hope I won't have problems at POE if it's not received by then? Plss anyone who has done bank wire transfer should tell me what they presented as proof of payment at POE.

Who is heading to Toronto on the 30th Dec...I just saw what seem to be the cheapest after 25th dec. Anyone interested in travelling on the 30th with Ethiopian airlines for 251k, 1 stop. Holla me!
I'll be leaving 30th too to Winnipeg. Though my route is Lagos-addis ababa-toronto-winnipeg. So we should be on the same flight to Toronto cos I noticed our arrival time is same. Have you submitted your passport already?

Finally!
All glory be to the Almighty God.

02 October - Online Application (M.Eng, UofR)
05 October - Biometrics Done
6 November - Medical Request
10 November - Medical Done
17 November - Medical Passed
02 December - Passport Request
03 December – Passport sent by UPS prepaid return courier
10 December- Application approved/correspondence letter
15 December – Passport with visa received from UPS.

Note: I applied with a conditional letter of admission wink. I saw in the Study Permit - Lagos Visa Office Instructions document that one can use a conditional LOA as long as you attach evidence of being able to meet the conditions.

Engaged in fasting and prayer.

Thanks to every one on this thread.

I wish all those waiting for their visas success

Cheers!
Big congrats to you man!

Use http://matrix.itasoftware.com/ to searh for flights over a range of dates. This software is what travel agents use.

I did a quick search for flights to Winnipeg and I see it is consistently above N400k.

But a trick you can use is to book a flight to Toronto using Egypt Air, and then book another separate flight from Toronto to Winnipeg.

A one-way via Egypt Air from Lagos to Toronto on Dec 27th is N180k. A one-way from Toronto to Winnipeg on Dec 28 is (300CAD).

The total estimate using this strategy is N180k+N45k=N225k.

I see your point about not wanting to fly thru Egypt, but it is not really a hot zone.
Thanks man. In fact I observed Egypt air is cheapest on Christmas day (cheaper than 27th), but I won't be able to leave till the new year for some reasons. I'm looking at 3rd of January for now. I'll try out your strategy, hopefully it works for a cheaper fare on the 3rd.

Try Lufthansa or klm but these ones will be so expensive. Nothing less than 360k.
Lufthansa says 430k+. Same with KLM. I checked them out this morning.

160k..yeah im flying with them
Woow! U must have booked quite early. Wish I did the same too.

Why is it that people are so scared about egypt air..well thats the cheapest during this period
Are you going to fly with them? How much did your flight ticket cost?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by obiscolly(m): 2:26pm On Dec 13, 2015
iykedare:
Check travelstart. Com or wakanow. Com. You should get something less than that.
My brother I've checked those sites several times... Even this morning. Egypt air is comparatively cheaper but that's a troubled region and don't wanna risk passing there.
