biancalove: hello my lovely friends. I hv 3rd class in statistics ( Jst regretting) bt I hv skill like ( MSOFT WORD, EXCEL, POWER POINT AND ACCESS). currently doing my NYSC. Wats my faith of getting job in LAGOS cos I based in LAGOS bt serving Akwaibom. Tnx. pls I nid reasonable answers
Trust me it's going to be a big deal, but it's not impossible with the grace of God. Even first class and 2'1 are still struggling to get. My advice is that you enrol for a masters program, probably part-time, to help yourself while you still search for jobs so you don't loose time. What's your course of study though?

PhonesRe: Apple Responds To Complaints Of Bent Iphones by obiscolly(m): 8:32am On Sep 26, 2014
I hope y'all didn't expect Apple to take the blame on this #EpicFail; just like they did in the iCloud hack saga. Only stupid and deluded people would go for the i6 without taking time to compare the specs with the previous ones to know what new iPhone has to offer- which in actual sense is "nothing". Since the death of Steve Jobs, iPhone has been selling based on brand. Security is crappy and phone specs suck. Imagine the battery ain't even up to 2000mAH. Those guys are jokers!

Why is the DHQ always hasty to make statements they're not sure of. Does Chris Olukolade know how stupid and unserious he makes Nigeria look to the international community huh

Fishy...better be careful. Over 4 months then just today. Coincidence?!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Need Help by obiscolly(m): 4:08pm On Sep 23, 2014
If you've not gotten a single test invitation in 4 months then you should check ur CV again and compare with those that have been invited for some tests. Maybe you're doing something wrong in that aspect. Your cover letters also matter a lot. Also, what's your course of study? Do you subscribe to job alerts?..cos not all job vacancies are advertised on nairaland.

Emasel: A day
You mean exactly 24 hours? If I leave 6am I'll get there by 6am the next day? Pls clarify..
Jobs/VacanciesRe: UNICEM Recruitment For Graduate Trainee 2014 by obiscolly(m): 5:09pm On Sep 19, 2014
Emasel: Try AKTC or Goshen at Ojuelegba,I know they leave very early in the morning but don't know if they also have move in the night.

But you could break the journey by taking night bus to PH and from PH,you could leave for Calabar. From PH to Calabar is about 5 to 6 hours.
How long is a direct journey from lag to Calabar?

Jobs/VacanciesRe: 3 Misconceptions That Fresh Graduates Make About Getting Jobs In Nigeria by obiscolly(m): 10:20pm On Sep 18, 2014
xfire: Yes, it was counted in my interviews. Experience always count. Even for well-paying entry level positions, employers seems to be a bit more favourably disposed to graduates that have had similar or related experiences or activities. But fresh graduates have a bright chance.
Thank you very much. Really appreciate!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 3 Misconceptions That Fresh Graduates Make About Getting Jobs In Nigeria by obiscolly(m): 11:03am On Sep 18, 2014
Thank you very much for the very educative piece. Pls Mr xfire, when moving from the FCMG firm to oil and gas, did they consider your previous experience or you applied as an entry level engineer?

Jobs/VacanciesRe: PZ Interview by obiscolly(m): 10:27am On Sep 18, 2014
It's not 50% pass mark for the CBT. It's actually 50th percentile. That means your score is compared to a database of all previous candidates and if it falls within the top 50% on both test, you've passed. So don't aim for 50%. 70% could even be the 50th percentile.
PropertiesRe: Abuja’s Abandoned Mansions by obiscolly(m): 9:06am On Sep 18, 2014
I've heard similar stories of abandoned buildings in abj. Though I've not been there since I was a baby, I've always thought of it as a very boring place to live. Our politicians are the curse of Nigeria.
