This is certainly an organised effort by group of individuals to aggressively sell the lands. Going through the links you'll see the ad messages are similar and are mostly using same blog platform. http://amazingnaijainvestments..ca/2013/02/dominion-gardens-and-park-ibeju-lekki_9.html http://www.linkedin.com/groups/Dominion-Gardens-presents-several-Plots-759547.S.207355486 http://ibenemegroup..ca/ http://kingsrealityservices..ca/2013/02/over-120-plots-for-sale-at-dominion.html http://amazingnaijainvestments..ca/2013/02/dominion-gardens-and-park-ibeju-lekki_9.html http://nxtpropertygroup..ca/2012/12/dominion-gardens-land-up-for-sale-ibeju.html BUYERS BEWARE! Only four games to go and the 8th seed in the West still up for grabs. Will it be Lakers (41-37) or Jazz (41-38)? Jazz have the tie breaker. At the top, Spurs (57-20) and Thunder (57-21) still fighting for top gun. My sense: Spurs may try to avoid Lakers and drop to #2. Pop is a very sly coach and may be thinking of this. Thunder has a better chance beating the Lakers. Both are definitely rooting for the Jazz to clinch #8. A Harden led Rockets vs. Thunder will be an intriguing match up. Can the Beard upset the OKC Zombies? Spurs vs. Lakers; Thunder vs. Rockets are very juicy match ups that I’ll love to watch Men! I love the West |

Katsumoto: You've repeated a line by extreme racist groups to support their myopic vision of the world. No data or fact supports this notion. It was policy targeted at a certain group of immigrants (Asians, Africans) Paradoxically, preferred Hong Kong Chinese given British passports chose not to settle in the U.K. The passports were simply used as "insurance policy". Most settled in US,Canada or Australia |

One more reason to hate this woman: She enacted tighter immigration rules. Any child born in Britain but of foreign parents does not automatically become a British citizen. This was a very calculated and callous move to hold on to power. Why? knowing that only xenophobic minds will support her "white only" conservative ideas for Britain. She embraced ideas of the British National Party. Are the BNPs still on the rise? I doubt if a party like that can even exist today with more ethnic groups in Britain 1 Like |
Foreign Affairs / Re: Margaret Thatcher Is Dead by occam(m): 5:04pm On Apr 08, 2013 |
She was Perhaps the most divisive leader in modern Britain. Too many negatives: north/south divide in Britain, anti-immigration and xenophobic stand, staunch supporter of apartheid regime, decimation of manufacturing sector. And she with Reagan pushed corrupt African leaders to accept SAP measures However, her euro-sceptic attitude may have ensured Britain escaped the economic malaise engulfing Europe right now. Had the Labor party been in power, Britain may have sleep walked into the single European currency or EMS. With hindsight her approach to Europe was the correct one Ironic that her nationalist attitude and hatred of Europe may have saved Britain from dire economic problems today 1 Like |

ugodre: As we all now know, 2007/2008 was the year the Nigerian Stock Exchange bottomed out making Nigerians looses trillions of Naira. A lot of us have even vowed never to near that market again. However, last year the NSE All Share Index rose about 33% year to date making investors believe the stock market is now back to the good old days. While this is good, some of the problems and mistakes we made when we all went out to buy stocks are still there and will always be so far we still run capitalism. But that is not why we must not buy shares. Warren Buffet is absolutely right, where there is transparency in the market. The corruption and opaqueness in the Nigerian market is still a huge problem. Have they cleaned up the whole mess of 2007? Were any companies/individuals prosecuted for the massive frauds? Remember fraudulent malpractices was the main reason the Nigerian market collapsed Institutional investors with deep pockets can risk investing in the Nigerian market. Individuals have to pause before committing funds. I'll say for now, in Nigeria people should invest in tangible businesses or assets. Things you can see. Real estate, food processing etc Even eCommerce businesses has a huge growth potential 1 Like |

eldoradoxx: If you are a failure in Nigeria, then definitely you will be a failure anywhere. You see the mouse that smells knows that it cannot escape that trademark stench that oozes around him because the stench runs in the blood and not in the skin ! Many Nigerians are abroad living from hand to mouth, managing some small menial and degrading jobs to pay bills and service charges. How many of them send home more than 100 pounds or dollars or euro? Many of them are more broke than common folks back home. Is that what life is all about ? You see the richest Africans are still Nigerians. The richest and most progressive Nigerians are not living in UK, France, Germany, US or SA, they live and earn there living here, tapping into our potentials, cheap labour and about 160million market. I don't think of any country where you can make over 100% profit in just any business. Our tax policy is very liberal (that is when one decides to pay). We may not have 24 hours light here but how much is the tariff in areas where there are good supply of electricity. Nigeria of today is not what it was 13years back, I have in 13years seen forests turn into estates with mansions, in 13 years we have sparked off economic revival that has caused Chinese, Lebanse, Americans, German just name it, all flooding Nigeria for business purposes. So I don't see any reason any Nigeria should flee home. Those begging for visa in other countries embassy are the failures that we need to export, they are people have lost faith with themselves and can't cope with the rugged life in Nigeria. So people living abroad are "rats" that can't afford to send common $100 back home. This is a very **informed** opinion. Now we know **wise** one 5 Likes |

bebe2: Seriously, you are running a charity not a business. You want to help these folks and yourself? Sell that charity/business and move on. Chances of that "business" growing is almost nil. Relatives are the worst to involve in your business. Sentiment will kill the damn business since you can't take firm decisions. You're becoming a cash cow and they'll milk you dry. They're not paying school fees with that money . NO. The money is spent rocking at clubs, buying blackberry, paying mobile airtime, paying for asoebi, gallivanting from town to town. And you're struggling to pay you own bills. This is Nigeria today. Maybe your nieces/nephew are exceptions to the rule. 1 Like |
Politics / Re: The African Economic Revolution by occam(m): 5:45am On Apr 02, 2013 |
I'm sure we are familiar with this saying: "The greatest lie the Devil ever told was convincing humanity that he didn't exist." Selling gold dust to and convincing African countries that it's diamond has now become the "flavor of the month" for development practitioners. Some lies repeated in this video may indeed be more frightful than the devil's lie. We need to take heed lest we over imbibe the sweet words and lose focus. Pan African-ism is simply a cool slang that serves no purpose. Africa is not a monolithic block, but countries sharing a continent. Each country must therefore fashion its own path to development based on it's unique problem. Seminars touting GDP growth, low debt to GDP for African countries are increasingly commonn place. These seminars are deliberately quiet on the more important Human Development measurement which puts African countries at the bottom of the rankings. And according to the Global Competitiveness Report, most African countries are factor driven economy vs the innovation driven of North American & European countries. Yet some say we can catch up or surpass a country like Germany by 2055; 40 yrs time. Our goal is not to catch up with these countries. First and foremost: we have to reduce poverty to a manageable number. Too many poor in Nigeria and any year over year economic growth simply creates more poverty. This is what is going on in Nigeria today Who are those guys? what is their agenda? Pumping out selective aggregated statistics to support the narrative of rising economic power house in Africa is delusional at best and deceitful at worst. Even more dangerous, it may encourage our leaders and policy makers to make bad decisions. On a positive note the video has elicited, on this thread, vibrant discussions and diverse views on the path forward. |

DaLover: Spread over 5 yrs, that is $6 billion per year on infrastructure development. You tell me that's money Nigeria can't afford? Every country, even the richest have competing needs for development projects. Still, the works get done and citizens' life are better. Not in our case. We are still stuck in the bottom wrung of the development ladder. Our story is not lack of funds but the cancerous effects of corruption. This govt is behaving exactly same way as previous administrations. Spending meager funds to upgrade a derelict rail system is no recipe for sustained development. This is "show and tell". During 2015 campaign Jonathan will now tout the Lagos - Kano rail project as key achievement. Years of mismanagement in Nigeria has resulted in us playing catch up in all areas of development - transport, education, health, electricity and so on. And here we are, some folks applauding a 30 mph train in 2013? I took the Lagos - Minna train 15 yrs ago and the journey time was nearly 24 hrs. I vowed never to take that train again. Looking at that video, nothing has changed. |

ROSSIKE: Such comparison highlights the disconnect between our leaders and people; not about GEJ only. Fixing the rail system has been a mantra repeated In the past and nothing meaningful has been done Fixing the trains on one route without new tracks will not cut it. A specific mandate must guide investment decisions. For instance reducing the travel time from Lagos to Kano must be the goal. And based on this goal govt can set aside budget to achieve it. Given the potential to increase ridership and economic activity, this is a worthwhile investment Piecemeal investments like this will not work and transform nothing |

vizboy: hey man clap for yourself nice speech and if my guess is right you started running the moment you came out of your moms stomach. Give Gej a break he is just half way into his tenure and have taken a bold step if our past leaders has taken these steps we wouldnt be were we are today. USA as you see today wasnt built in 4 years but for more than 300 years. We need to invest billions of dollars to overhaul the entire system. Spending a paltry $153 million will get us nowhere. The opportunity lost for business means overhauling the entire rail system should be top priority with electricity. Moving at 31 mph will not attract more passengers to use the service. In 5 yrs time its back to square one since people will lose faith in the system. The latest Mercedes benz and SUVs ferry our leaders all over the place, yet they invest on a rail that moves at 31 mph. And people celebrate this as progress! 15 yrs ago the rail journey from Lagos to Kano was around 30 hrs, same as this. Progress really means something else in Nigeria The drop in goods move was even steeper from 3.3 million tons to a mere 57,000 tons. Above quote indicates how much the economy is losing yearly because of an ineffective rail system |

Omo_Tier1: This is like a man who has money to build a modern concrete house yet is celebrating living in a mud house as a life achievement How come when they want to do anything for themselves, they go for the world's best, yet when it's time to do anything for the Nigerian masses, they put up a mediocre! Absolutely correct. We need to build for the future, not just spending on projects to resuscitate the past. This rail projects looks like one and may not be sustainable in the long term. |

A-40: The Sheeed vs. KG thing will never be resolved. Both are very talented power forwards that battled a lot when playing for Wolves and Blazers. They both play tough interior defense and can score easily over any big man. Sheed is slightly better because defenders have to account for him at the 3 point line. One of the best 3 point shooting big man. His 3 point shots usually the drained opponents of any energy especially when trying to make a run. watch the tapes of his Piston days and you'll see what I mean |

Ada Nri1: if I say " my child stop behaving like a goat" to me that's giving the child an example of how she/he is acting. Na wa oooooooo shey na this una wan bring up children? If he goes out and another person calls him a cow he'll hang himself. Better bring up your children realistically or else bullies will target them everyday. I will never compare my child with a goat. Why not simply tell him to behave himself. Adults in Nigeria must be respected. True that. Kids too must be respected Bullies abound in schools and sadly kids are forced deal with it. However, children that have respectful and open conversations with their parents are more likely to tell their dad/mum about the bullying. If you insult your kid, he/she may be hesitant to report bullying in case you call him a "weak goat" |

Fhemmmy: I think there is a difference between insulting and cursing them . . . I tell my son most times that he is big head and he say it back to me too, but when a parent curse their kids like saying - I know you cant be anything in life, that is dangerous and such pronunciation do have a lasting effect. That's just playing. He finds it funny too that's why he's saying it back to you. Too many Nigerian parent's insult their kids at the slightest offence. Talking to kids is really alien in our society. A child asks a simple question and they tell him/her to shut up and mind his/her business. Nigerians don't like explaining things to children. |
