omonnakoda:undecided voters? Less than 1%. Everyone knows who they’re voting for and no interview will change this. Tinubu knows and just speaking to consolidate and assure his base. Also to send message to opponents he’s the main guy That’s why all this interview requests from Arise Tv and co is meaningless. How many people watches those dry Town Hall meetings on Arise that Obi & Atiku runs to. Tinubu’s choice of Chatham to present his ideas is a mastersroke. Election campaigns is about mapping out strategies and speaking to the right audiences. Chatham is Pre eminent place for political discussions. Evoking emotions everyday on Arise Tv and social media is worthless |
Tiinubu demonstrated unparalleled leadership. iKnowing you’re not the best, but best at finding and delegating to the best person to get the job done. As a leader you’re not a subject matter specialist. Your job is to surround yourself with people better than you. |
Tinubu just sent a subtle dig at social media user. Twitter, Facebook etc are just random noise and will have no impact on this election. How many real voters are sharing stuff on social media? The numbers are there to see. Of the mere 30 million registered Facebook users in Nigeria, only 15% are active users. Twitter is even smaller. Why waste energy talking to such irrelevant audience. It’s more productive to interact with market women, traders, rural folks etc who have greater sphere of influence in their communities. |
Which US court or Judge issued a subpoena compelling Deloite to confirm the name of its previous employee? A subpoena is a writ demanding an individual or organization provide evidence for an ongoing criminal investigation or attend a court hearing. A judge only issues a subpoena when evidence is required for an investigation. Why then is Deloitte being subpoenaed to confirm Tinubu's employment record when no ongoing criminal or civil investigation? This subpoena story doesn't add up A simple employee reference request to Deloitte's HR department will suffice to confirm if Tinubu worked there or not. You don't need the head of the legal department to confirm that information. This Hundeyin keeps playing Nigerians for fools and his so annoying. |
Too many holes in this story and doesn't make sense: 1. You can't deposit $80,000 cash in a US account without attracting scrutiny. The maximum is $10,000 to prevent money laundering. And if you deposit a cheque with so huge amount you will have to provide documents to support it. 2. Why will an individual involved in drug trafficking leave $1.8 million sitting in a US account for over 1year? Drug dealers move cash quickly and launder into real estate, jewelry, automobiles, or invest in a business. Today that's a huge amount to leave in an account talk less of 1991. 3. When was Tinubu arrested, charged, and convicted of drug dealing? The document presented in this story is an affidavit and that doesn't indicate a conviction. The US authorities will not enter plea bargaining with a top drug dealer that does not involve a jail term. The convicted dealer may get a reduced sentence but will never escape jail time. 4. Very curious that The US authorities only forfeited his cash and froze his account but DID NOT charge him with the distribution of illegal drugs. Why? Asset forfeiture is a slap on the wrist and doesn't mean involvement in drug dealing. This poorly written story is only making the rounds because Nigerians don't understand how the US judicial system works. If you're ever arrested for drug dealing on such a scale and there is probable cause to convict, you'll never get bail. I'm amazed Tinubu was allowed to walk freely for someone accused of drug dealing. Overall, the story is trash |
NwaIdeato:Kanu’s release is bad news for Obi. Kanu holds sway amongst Igbos and since he doesn’t support Nigeria as an entity, Obi will be sweating buckets. Will Kanu dissociate himself From Obi’s quest for presidency? Let’s wait and see. A lot of IPOBs have turned Obident and may just want Kanu to remain in prison until after elections. |
Reference:May I also add that India achieved independence just 13 yrs (1947) before Nigeria. Today the second richest man is an Indian, Adani ($143b) and Indians remain competitive in tech sector. In fact the British colonialists plundered more from India than Nigeria. Yet their economy is set to surpass Britain in 10 yrs Colonialism or the white man is not our problem. It’s our elites, leaders and most of our people. Who cares if King Charles is a racist or not? So if Charles loves black people it will reduce poverty levels in our country? Black man think! |
Even if we accept this unscientific poll, the numbers still indicate tepid support for Obi His numbers are highly skewed by the 68% from SE (the region with lowest voters). On the other hand he scored very poorly (less than 12%) in voter rich regions of NW, NE & SW. He has No support in regions that will decide elections. Whoever posted this as a “win” for Obi lacks understanding of basic arithmetic. Winning an election is getting high next numbers in voter rich regions |
She’s writing from the comfort of her American home, sharing her thoughts through western technology (Twitter) and throwing tantrums on the corpse of a British queen. And Remember it was the British that migrated to the Americas to form modern day USA. Yet this lady doesn’t see the irony of earning her living in an anglo Saxon society and belly aching about the Queen. The closest friends to the Brits and the monarchy is the USA. What’s the difference between Britain & USA (where she comfortably lives)? Nothing |
None of them will vote in the elections. Why? They’re Not registered and will not come home to vote. This is a fact. Obi knows this and he’s just there to raise campaign funds. Obidients are just using social media to sucking in gullible disaporans. Telling them Obi’s victory is a slam dunk. And once he wins they can come back home. Illogical, emotional claptrap. Some diasporans have even promised to raise $150million for Obi campaign. Are you kidding me? |
Ogurube:He's goal is to solicit some campaign funds from Diasporans. Simple. Majority of Nigerians abroad will not participate nor vote in the election. The real campaign is with grassroots in Nigeria. Talking to and interacting with rural people, the jobless urbanites and masses is where you'll get REAL insight into the problems of this country. Many disaporans, not all, have a disposition to exaggerate the issues and negative things happening back home. Phrases like "failed state", "Nigeria will collapse" permeates the diasporan social media discussions. The conferences Obi will attend in USA, Canada, Germany are organized by resident Igbo associations in those countries. And of course, attendance will be skewed towards Igbos. So what's the value in help him understanding problems facing all Nigerians? |
The NBA conference is an elitist event. The grassroots is what matters. Tinubu was smart not to attend. The NBA has participated in and enthroned these disreputable politicians into power. NBA is an arm of the elite group that continues to subjugate the will of the people. Politically the event is irrelevant and a photo op that no one will remember by end of the week. Ironically, the Shettima suit has diverted attention from what was discussed in the event. An own goal by the Obi movement to showcase Peter Obi’s speech; One of his best speech to date |
ednut1:Exactly. Wearing trainers or crepe sole shoes is more comfortable and better for the feet. And what has this go to do with his capacity to govern? After all, Suit and tie is Western culture. When will Naija people be free from colonial mentality? |
What if OBJ frowns his face? So what? Tinubu knows he and Obasanjo aren't political friends and may never be. This is all a photo op by Tinubu's team to show he's consulting and talking with everyone including those against him. It's all just politics and campaign kick-off moves. How many votes can Obasanjo deliver for anyone? very few. I mean which region, state, or voting group will be persuaded to vote for a candidate because of Obasanjo's support? His relevance in today's politics is rather low. I'm waiting for the campaign proper to kick off next month, then we can gauge where the wind of victory is blowing. For now, just stay tune and watch. |
29kobo:Excellent points and great observations. Question is which government has the balls to raise taxes and remove petrol subsidy? The next President has to bite the bullet and then phase out or remove petroleum subsidy. Simple. But Nigerians will fight very hard to keep paying for cheap petrol (cheapest in Africa) Also will next President be willing to raise taxes? Nigeria has the lowest tax to GDP ratio in Africa. Looking at the top 3 aspirants, none of them has the will to implement this twin unpopular measures. |
casualobserver:I tire o! Most reputable universities don't reply to 3rd party inquiries about student graduation status. They give you a certificate and if you loose it, send a letter to registrar for replacement. The university will respond to student only (that is Tinubu). All these random groups claiming the university sent them a letter' is all lies. Something is fishy |
NSNA:So he spent only 2 yrs for a bachelor degree. Why are things not adding up? Most degree courses in North America is 4 yrs. Even if you do summer courses, you’ll still spend 3 yrs. This one tire me o |
Interestingly, he worked in Mobil Nigeria for just 9 yrs (1983 - 1992) Yet, the keep telling us he amassed all those wealth while working in Mobil. Who works in an organization for only 9yrs and becomes a multimillionaire? Too many mysteries regarding this man. Even if certificate is lost, just tell us I went to XY schools between this year and this year. Simple. No doubt he has formal secondary education But why isn’t he telling? What is he hiding |
OneCandleAway:Very valid point. But then how did he successfully graduate from university without formal secondary education? Too much mystery surrounding this man’s early years. Don’t we have investigative journalists in this Naija to unravel things about Tinubu |
thesicilian:You're absolutely right. Nigerians have been brainwashed and don't know what "winning" means. People need to read more and understand how great nations thrive and win. In societies that understand leadership, someone like Tinubu will probably be in the gallows and not seen as a role model to emulate. |
BlackBaron:No patriotic Nigerian will supports this druggy. He's so desperate to be President and disrespects a sitting Governor. He exhibits pride, lack of decorum, and dictatorial tendency. Governor Abiodun has the right to support anyone he likes. That insult from Tinubu is totally uncalled for. Pointing at Gov Abiodun and saying "this one", is the height of disrespect It's time Lagosians and other Yorubas unshackle themselves from the grip of this potential dictator. |
Sonyboom:Very painful to watch. He sounds incoherent and only telling tales of past glory instead of espousing a clear vision of the future. Besides why remind Nigerians of his association with the fabulously corrupt Enron? Enron committed one of the most accounting deceptions in US History. Yet Tinubu is proud to mention them as one of his achievements. |
It’s so easy to blame government for everything but not in this case So did engineers and maintenance crew check level of fuel before train left Lagos? Did they do thorough check up to ensure no fault on engine? Pathetic! After government spent billions on trains, workers can’t do simple maintenance People just do things anyhow and expect to get paid and worse blame Buhari |
Twitter revenue world wide was $3.7b. Where did you get this outrageous figures? The only loss is ad revenue for Twitter from Nigeria market; which is less than $1m. Also business shifted ad spending to Facebook, Instagram & Tik Tok and other media platforms Stop all these noise lies |
Nigerians have to be careful and smart with the narrative cooked up for immigration. This a true story about a man that sought refugee status: The man applied for refugee as a gay man running from prosecution from Nigerian government. This was during Jonathan’s regime. The Canadians accepted his refugee claim and he became a permanent resident. Four years later, he applied to sponsor his wife and children into Canada to join him. Of course Canadian immigration picked this huge hole of crap in his application. How can you a gay man be married in a heterosexual relationship with 2 children? A man claiming gay now wants to sponsor his wife & children. You can’t make this stuff up |
PeachtreeReside:That Danladi story was funny and full of crap. How can a Fulani herdsman trace you from Delta to Lagos and destroy your generator? They tell lies believing everyone is a fool like them too. |
A case of Cut your nose to spite your face. Few Canadians come to Nigeria. It’s only Nigerians living there that will be hurt by these knucklehead tit for tat. Also, Air Canada doesn’t fly to Nigeria anyway. So this announcement is just random noise. Naija government needs to take its head out of its ass before announcing policies. |
FisifunKododada:In a nutshell, you've stated all that's required to change this country. Convincing people to let go of their Pastors/Imams and embrace logical/critical thinking is a misson impossible. |
PlanktonX:Even with all these due diligence, they’ll still find a way to scam you. Best thing is to invest your money in Mama Sikira’s Amala & egufe buka. At least you can sit in the buka all afternoon and watch how your investment is doing. Shikena |
When Yoruba says Kagba fun Olurun (accept my fate) it means the struggle is over. Igboho will no longer fight for Yoruba Nassion as I sense bitterness in the statement. Why not? His Lawyers scammed him, his social media PR scammed him, laughing all the way to the bank. Even followers have deserted him. Now he's left holding the short end of the stick, eating ewa agonyin every day in a Beninoise gallows. As wise ones will say, that is life |
