Still Russia will think twice before invading turkey like they did Ukraine.
I don't think Russia wants a war with NATO.
That is true. Russia wouldn't want to start a war with NATO.

Turkey already shot down a Russian jet a few years ago, during the Syrian conflict. What did Russia do ? Nothing, zero, zilch. Putin is all mouth.

You probably need to read up on that incident again, and the Russian response that followed, particularly the massive carpet bombing of Turkmen area/holdouts in Syria, plus the establishment of S400 batteries and Su-35 Combat Air Patrols/Escorts. I won't call those "zilch, nada, nothing".

I'm sorry, but this report is a huge pile of BS. Let's get a few things straight: yes the Ukrainians are fighting back and are fighting back HARD. But 2800 Russians killed?? Abeg that is absolute nonsense. As for the lost aircraft, yes a Russian Kamov was forced to land after taking damage, and I think another helicopter was shot down. That said the other claims make absolutely no sense. The Ukrainians were able to shoot down highly maneuverable fighter jets, yet could only shoot down a few helicopters? C'mon! Who's buying this be? This is total disinformation.

Finally, look at the source. It's the Daily Mail.....nuff said.

So you're saying only Russia will face all NATO allies and no one will win.
Obviously, NATO Win.
Russia will only face the US. They can't fire at over 30 countries simultaneously with all those countries firing back.
NATO is the strongest alliance in the world. No country can win that alliance
Bros, I will repeat myself, if nukes go off, everyone will be touched including the Americans and Western Europe. Russia has the 2nd largest stockpile of nuclear weapons in the world and the delivery vehicles to launch strikes against NATO as a whole. Conventionally the advantage is definitely in NATO's favour. However when it comes to nukes, please forget it. No one wins, not Russia, not continental North America, and DEFINITELY not western Europe. We all lose.

The sole reason is the proximity of Kyiv to the Belarusian border. Has nothing to do with masterclass. In fact the Antonov airport meant to be used by Russian paratroopers to assault kyiv has been retaken.

According to the UK intelligence, over 450 spetsnaz were killed yesterday. But Moscow isn't reporting it. DW, Aljazeera, CNN has cameras on ground. Go watch them and see the amount of destroyed tanks Ukraine special forces were inspecting in Kharkiv. Meanwhile I haven't seen any Russia Today ground reports. All their reports are speeches from their Defence ministry. Why do you think we are hearing further russian reports in Kharkiv. The resistance there is something else. Every Russian soldier is a walking target. In Kiev almost all guns and snipers in stores are sold out.
450 Spetznas killed? As in 450 of Russian GRU Spetznas/Russian FSSO killed? I'm sorry, but that's a pile of BS (no disrespect to the Ukrainian military; I'm sure they're decent). But hey if there's a proven link to the story, pls share. Still call BS on that story.

This is Super Storyyyy. If the nukes go off, be rest assured that Russia will equally attack in full force. Good luck blocking a barrage of ICMBs with multiple warheads, each armed with kilotons of nuclear warheads, PLUS nuclear tipped hypersonic missiles. Continental United States and Europe will burn, so will the Russian motherland. No one wins.

Germany? Not even CLOSE. The German military is even considered a joke with the deep defence budget cuts. Russia will steamroll over Germany to Berlin. They did it before, they can do it again. That's why the Germans DO NOT joke with the Russians.

Putin has blundered so badly here it’s almost laughable.

His choices are simple:

He withdraws from the border and doesn’t invade, but that makes all his posturing look weak since he already is occupying Ukraine with his troops (Crimea, Donbass) and has issued a “red-line” statement against the West. Weakness is not a character trait Russians particularly respect.

He invades because he’s already tacitly committed himself to doing so and his country faces the wrath of pretty much the entire world. Sanctions would most certainly be extreme, and then possible loss of trade with the largest economies (U.S., E.U. U.K, Japan, Australia, etc.) How long do you think Russia can survive on its own? We wouldn’t even need to blockade Russian ports, we’d just embargo them into submission.
Yeah, Vlad got himself into a real geopolitical pickle here. He hasn’t left himself very many options that are good for himself or his shitty country.
You've not been following the news, haven't you? You really think the Russians have not been planning for this conflict ever since the 2014 conflict. As it stands today, Putin made the necessary arrangements to insulate the Russian economy to a certain degree. As an alternative to the much talked SWIFT system, the Russians built the SFPS system and equally rely heavily on crypto currencies. Even the Chinese have built their own CIPS system. Even the so-called sanctions raised so far targets just few people and relatively unknown banks. Sure the Ruble dropped to new lows, but the Russians will weather the storm.

Please note that this conflict is bound to affect western Europe even more. Russia controls 40% of the gas the gas western European homes and industries recieved, and there's no one to fill that gap in the short term as Nord Stream has been kept on hold indefinitely. That means Europe will buy gas at a way higher gas compared to cheap Russian gas, else they will freeze. Oh....and gas prices are presently quite high right now in western Europe. Russia now stands to gain a lot from the high oil and gas prices.

Where are Ukrainian forces?
You can't blame the Ukrainian forces. They were outgunned, outmanned, and over-ran. The Russians have gain air superiority while the Ukrainian air defence and air forces are totally destroyed. There's absolutely no hope. Let's just pray the Russians decide not to match towards western Ukraine.

cool

Where is that Donkey that was screaming Ukraine is wining the war on the other thread ?.

It’s a Pity Zelenskyy allowed Sleepy Joe to deceive him. He didn’t learn from the 2008 Russia/Georgia war where George Bush a Republican who loved war couldn’t confront Russia after pushing Georgia to war with Russia. I have said this and will keep seeing it. The West won’t go to war with Russia over Ukraine. These Nuclear Powers honors MAD (Mutual Assured Destruction ). They know it would be disastrous to go to war with themselves. A Third World War is equivalent to a full scale nuclear war. Stop comparing what happened in 1939 that caused the Second World War when Hitler Invaded Poland to current happenings now, times have changed. Ukraine will just suffer the brunt and nothing will happen. We the student of history knew what happened during the 1962 missile crisis in Cuba. US shouldn’t allow what they won’t take. US won’t allow Russia to site a military base around any country close to them. Russia is a big name in the league too. Putin is only fighting for the future security of his Nation.
THANK YOU!! I keep telling people that Ukraine and NATO FAILED to learn the lessons from the 2008 Ossetian War between Russia and Georgia. I dare say that NATO set this precedent with Kosovo, now it has come to bite them. Here's an advice: DO NOT POKE THE RUSSIAN BEAR!! You will get mauled! Simple.

They will soon come and tell you how US and Japan will supply EU gas as if it is that easy and cheap. Imagine buying something for 2 naira per litre and claiming it's expensive only for you to quarrel with your supplier and now start looking for a new seller to buy from at around 4 naira just because you are quarreling with previous supplier. How long will it take for you before you start feeling the extra expenses from your pocket? Besides, most suppliers out of Europe like the US are already operating exports at full capacity and as such, it would not be very easy to shake off the effects of losing the supply of Russian gas. Prices would eventually skyrocket and of course, people would start protesting when it gets out of hands. They have forgotten the whole of Europe is just coming out of the economic downturn experienced due to Covid... As it is, the whole of Europe and Russia need each other more than anything. No one would benefit from this crisis. I was reading comments of certain novices claiming that EU and US had placed sanctions on Russia and I laughed. They actually didn't even realize the sanctions are not against Russia's economy directly but were issued against investments in the 2 regions that had just declared their sovereignty from Ukraine. These sanctions have nothing to do with Russia's current businesses with EU and the US.
That will be fun to watch. The western supporters equally forgot something: the west actually needs Russia and China's support in the containment of Iran and China's nuclear ambitions. As the Americans are trying to rescuscitate the JCPOA initially killed by Pres. Trump, they need Russia's support for any future agreement to work. If the Russians decide to play spoiler and throw full support to the Iranians, that's it. Coupled with Iran's ballistic missile tech as proven during the missile strike in Iraq years ago and even with the Houthies missile strikes against Saudi Arabia, Iran will be untouchable as a nuclear power. No wonder the Americans are being cautious with their sanctions, as the sanctions are focussed on Luhansk and Donbas.

You lots don't even understand the dynamics of the EU market where Russia supplies the whole of Europe over 40% of basic energy needs that they can't possibly get elsewhere. Tell me how the US wants to supply gas to the whole of Europe and at what cost? Are they going to construct new delivery channels? You guys just sit on Nairaland and type away without even knowing the dynamics of the things you say.
I blame too many Hollywood movies and Tom Clancy fantasies. Western Europe's already suffering from high gas prices. Let's see what happens when Russia turns off the gas valves and watch Western European homes and industry freeze when the next winter come. Meanwhile Russia will be supplying China gas via the Siberian pipeline as Chinese industries switch from dirty coal to cleaner gas.

No need arguing this mate. More sanctions are waiting; weightier ones for that matter. Sanctions don't finish. And there is no new world order. If ever there was something like that it will be China. Russia is a poor country. Till date Russia cannot even match Portugal's GDP per capita and they have been trying for ages. Apart from Moscow and St. Petersburg most other Russian cities are messed up.

New world order? Lol... China would be laughing at your statement. Even China no want war. Many people for the sake of hatred or pure boredom want a change of the guard, but no, the US is centuries ahead of every other country when it comes to military abilities and intelligence. For me: US, UK, Israel, then others

Even China cannot afford a full blown confrontation with India. India is in space, medicine, nuclear warfare, everything and they don't make noise. Let Putin go and sit down. This one he will lose it a million times over. The West actually want him to make a move so they will cordon him off and he knows hence the merry go round.
The highlighted statement is a joke, right? You're comparing India, a country still suffering from extreme poverty and a lack of adequate toilets, with CHINA?? As in China, the world's TECHNOLOGY POWER and the NEWEST MILITARY SUPER POWER?? Same China that trashed India during their border war in the 60s? THAT CHINA?? Uncle, keep dreaming.

Putin himself can't say what you just typed.

Do you know that United States can target Russia's financial institutions and telecommunications through "SWIFT" (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications).

Once that happens, their economy that is already batterd is going to collapse.

That is the last card of sanctions.
You do know the Russians and the Chinese already have an alternative to the SWIFT system, right? The SWIFT system isn't the all-in-all and the Russians have already done their homework. Why do you Putin has damned the sanctions and gone ahead with his decisions? This is a man that calculates before making EVERY move. Being an ex-member of KGB isn't beans.
