Tinubu needs no crude oil to develop Nigeria. He is highly intelligent and he employs intelligent people to work for him. Lagos had no crude oil when started developing Lagos. Today, Lagos is far more developed than the best crude oil producing state in Nigeria.
Apparently you've not been to Rivers or Akwa Ibom. The one thing Lagos has going for is that it's the country's primary commercial hub & gateway with a significant Federal presence. Remove all that and it's basically another Osun state by the ocean

Please note that Buhari has not entirely failed. He has done some good and even near great things. He is far better than GEJ overall .

Where Buhari has failed, that no one could really anticipate, is letting his openly pro-Fulani and pro-North thinking cloud his judgement to then dictate his actions and inactions.

This has impacted negatively on security, the economy, ethnic cohesion and unity of Nigeria, critical appointments (like AGF), institutional reforms, the need for restructuring, retention of practices leading to bloated and inefficient governmenf parastatals mainly Northerners are beneficiaries of, constitutional reform, socio-economic policies etal.

Even decisions such as building a rail line to Niger Republic, complete with rail station, with Nigeria 's money and no counterpart funding, appear distinctly sentimental, ethnocentric and economically unjustifiable. Buhari could have gotten Nigeria to the next level.

Buhari failed because he fails to see all Nigerian region and people as equal. Buhari is not as efficient a President as he has the potential to be because of dogmatic devotion to his ethnic group and region above what is best for all. That is his own limitation Tinubu has never had. They are totally different people.

If Buhari was more objective and not so North-centric then he could easily have become the best President Nigeria has produced since 1999.

Every major decision Buhari takes has to pass the test of being in the best interest of the North and not Nigeria. Buhari has ended up failing everyone, especially the North, because of this.
I stopped reading at your first paragraph. Newsflash, the naira is still in freefall, fuel price at the depots just increased by N5.00 per litre. AGO price crossed the N300.00 mark. Prices of items continue to go up. And you say Buhari"s better than GEJ?? Is that a joke or what? Or do you enjoy suffering & poverty?

The military are really trying. Offensive have not started but alot of success have being recorded. Iswap have release a memo asking all there foot solider to move toward border community to avert air strike and foot attack. From troop. Within three month over 25 high ranking commander of iswap are dead. Unconfirmed report has it that iswap new commander may have died from yesterday attack from DSOF. 3 three iswap field commander killed. Right now an operation is going on. Some island are make for clearance and strike operation. All thank to CDS for joint operation between the military.. but the military should strike iswap base in Niger republic 50-100km it is housing major equipment and foot solider . It is there training ground. It is believe that some international country are supplying equipment and money to that base which then move to their operational base in Nigeria. A well airstrike is recommended
Hunting HVTs. Nice one. One question though: please which unit is DSOF?

What is missing in the lineup is a Tier 2 Force with 2-3 Commando Battalions with capabilities somewhere between SF and regular Army units.
I think Nigerian Army 72nd Special Forces battalion fits the role, along NAF's Panthers. But that's my opinion.

Before the proliferation of SFs, the NPF had the PMF, a true force to record with in curbing insurrection and communal wars. Within same PMF they had the QIF (Quick Intervention Force) who deploy within minutes from the state headquarters to offer assistance till such crisis is quelled and they returned to base.
Having SBS as tier one, the AFSF should be the Delta here with the ONSA. 72 SF Makurdi should be upgraded same as other Recce Battalion with full gear to become the Strike/Counter Force. Then a robust QIG Quick Intervention Group with dedicated Air wing and MRAPs. I see no reason we will be loosing young men and women in the field if the military adopt this structure. The regular army can handle mop ups.

As for intelligence gathering, countries are getting past human assets and relying upon communication gadgets and voice matching. Read where the NSA and FBI flooded the dark web with encrypted devices only to use same and track over 300 drug lords within South America and the US. Every handheld device today is a listening device.
I think AFSF is less of SFOD-Delta and more like the CIA Special Activities Division (SAD)...I think.

How else is the military supposed to take out these bandits? They always have human shields at every time.

The US military is also a gross violator of human rights. Many of their allies are also gross violators of human rights. It is pure politics.
War is ugly, especially when you are fighting people who are not subjected to any moral codes or laws made by man or God.
Maybe it's time we really think unconventionally. We want to carry out surgically, then I think we should really really REALLY look at improving our intelligence gathering and special operations capabilities and invest seriously/heavily in both our domestic intelligence service(s) and the military+police's special ops units/branches. Invest in our personnel, really invest in learning new skills (recon, hostage rescue, direct action, etc), invest in equipment, etc.

We can’t even secure the rail network we spent $800m on, worse part is we still owe the Chinese.
We go learn by force.
The NSCDC, Railway security branch of the NPF, and DSS should be held responsible for this security breach. These attacks are becoming really scary. What I don't get is that Kaduna is pretty much a military state based on the military facilities and institutions there. Just declare a damn state of emergency is the state and roll out the military against the bandits before the cut off Kaduna fully.

What you saw was probably the Baretta ARX 160. Next to the SCAR it is probably the sexiest carbine in the world smiley

Why the prison service is using such a modern gun when most of the NA have rusty AK 47s is what I cannot explain.
EHEN!!!! That's exactly it . Damn I was impressed with the Prison Service guys. And you've raised an excellent point: if the NPS can arm it's men with the Berreta ARX, why can't the army do away with those damn Nigerian copy (OBJ-006) of a Chinese copy (Type 56) of the Russian AK-47? For the love of God make the Beryl standard issue with the carbine versions reserved for Army Special Ops units and Airborne while we phase out those other damn rust sticks. Hell, even the NSCDC uses newer AK-74s with polymer frames. Our soldiers deserve better.

My main point isn't even on the helicopter. It is on the people. Nigeria needs to have a Special forces up to the level of green berets or rangers or seals. We can then go further beyond airstrikes, offensives and defence. Imagine shooting or picking up top BHTs at 2am in their own backyard.
The Nigerian Navy SBS are our own Tier 1 Special Ops unit, and they've proven themselves over & over in the fight against Boko Haram.

This would be a game changer as well. Your thoughts?
Why not just reactivate our Bo-105s stored at PHC for this purpose and attach airframes to special ops units (army or NAF) for insertions during their operations? It beats purchasing new MH-6s. My opinion though.

Good evening house. A question: when did the Nigeria Prison Service implement their small arms upgrade? I ask for a reason. I was at the Federal High Court, Uyo, for a case. On leaving the courtroom, I came across 2 Prison Wardens armed with what looked like CZ 805 Brens (or AK-Alfa) assault rifles. I must say I was quite impressed. That's a nice upgrade from the old hand-me-down HK G3s from the Army. Can anyone else throw more light on this?

He be like say you dey work with Huawei hence your support.

Truth be told , huwei equipment is inferior to Western brands . A well known fact! Only advantage Chinese have over western own brands us in term of cost.

Since Nigeria telcos switch to having Huawei as their core and access network, since then everything spoil .

MTN used to be good before it switched to Chinese brand.
No good network in Nigeria.
Nope, I don't work for Huawei. But if I'm to choose btw a Huawei RTN series PDH MW radios over say Alcatel AWY PDH radios, BROS I will go for the former in a heartbeat. But that's my opinion.

Huawei equipment are not Good. Globacom started with Siemens in the north and Alcatel in the south. When the switched over to huawei switching systems voice quality dropped. I can tell you for a fact. In those days if a pin dropped at the other end of the conversation you will hear it at your end but today that 90% of the network elements are Chinese products you can't even hear the voice of the other party well. This happens a cross networks because they all use cheap Chinese network elements. The Chinese network elements appear cheap initially but on the long run licensing cost makes them far more expensive. Globacom is already considering swapping them out to Nokia systems.
Siemens up north? 'never came across that. Same Alcatel equipment were being used up north for both BSS and Tx (PDH and SDH), before being swapped for Huawei. The only Alcatel products still used are MW SDH radios. Again can't really say what's at the switching/NSS end or OSS.

Back door was the broader stance used.

Because anything that can be censored is already infiltrated.

Of recent lithuania sent a circular via their information ministry on the banning of chinese phones based on censorship architecture found in them.

The Chinese system works in sync from phones to internet to mobile.
....You do know what "censorship", especially when it comes to Chinese tech means....right? The whole great firewall of China meant to FILTER OUT western sourced apps and sites, plus massive use AI powered electronic surveillance in country.

That's the issue with chinese telecom that mostly the western nations of the world saw.

China Telco infrastructure producers build their equipment around the framework that heavily integrates the great firewall...

So you have series of auxiliary hardwares that run along side their Network infrastructure.

That period of aggressive push for 5G was just a ploy to get the millions of equipment already manufactured into every infrastructure globally.

But they forgot that the telecom started in the west, so there is no way of sneaking up on them with equipment that can be used for heavy censorship

In the case or africa the higher amount of power generation needed to run the entire infrastructure successfully was something they never saw. Most have a yearly phase integration of chinese equipments into their Network...

Those such as glo that achieved deeper implemention plan experienced serious drawdown in network because of a steep increase in power consumption.
The issue considered by the west was that of security with concerns of a backdoor into their respective networks as raised by the Americans. Then there's the concern of Chinese dominance when it comes to 5G and the need to "tame" China's leadership in that field. Quality and censorship are DEFINITELY not the issues here.

Huawei glaringly copied Alcatel, like for like. You can hardly differentiate their hardwares at first glance. Huawei has a way of not revealing much to the operator that even when your network is crashing, you will always believing you are doing well. They come with overhyped hardwares that cannot perform optimally at the specification they claim, but the operator will never know, their architecture conceals alot from the operator,

It’s no hidden fact that the moment GLO moved to Huawei, the network crashed. Users can attest to that fact
There's no doubt that Huawei, like other Chinese firms, copied the tech of other European tech firms like Alcatel. I can only speak for access/base station subsystem (BSS) and transmission only, but as one who worked in the industry, I can tell you that Huawei products were considered better and more user friendly compared to the old/legacy Alcatel equipment that were quite problematic. If it's all tied to Huawei's equipment, how come MTN made same switch as they swapped their legacy equipment for same Huawei years ago? Keep in mind that the running of Globacom's PLMN isn't outsourced to Huawei but is manned directly by Glo staff, so I don't really get the point you're trying to make on lack of transparency on Huawei's part.
