I'm no financial expert, but I'll say this: I don't think the west fully understand the man (Putin) they're dealing with. This is a man with a long history in counter-intelligence. What I'm basically trying to get at is that Putin has never been known to be a man who rushes to a decision without taking his time to thoroughly analyze a situation. I'm willing to bet that Putin did his homework before initiating this war. And so far he's played his card close to his chest, and played the world well until 24th February, 2022.
But hey, it's my opinion. |

EVEN IF THEY DID ASK FOR MILITARY ASSISTANCE DO U THINK CHINA WOULD BE DUMB ENOUGH TO DIVULGE SUCH INFORMATION.... NOBODY WEY NO DEY FEAR SANCTION
EVEN THE CHINESE UNDERSTANDS THAT GOING HEAD TO HEAD WITH NATO AND EUROPEAN UNION IS A BAD IDEA... RUSSIA ECONOMY IS NOT THE MOST PROFITABLE SOIL RIGHT NOW FOR EVERY RIGHT THINKING BUSINESS MAN Not the most fruitful. Russia is the 5tj largest supplier of oil and gas. China is the number ONE energy consumer. Russia is equally one of the largest producers of wheat. At a time that oil prices have gone up along with the commodity prices, imagine China buying Russian oil and gas for it's hungry industries at a discount, or wheat for it's teaming masses. You still think that's not lucrative? |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Chinese Embassy Responds To Claims Moscow Asked For Military Assistance by ocelot2006(m): 4:45pm On Mar 14, 2022 |
This is strange. The Chinese usually rely on the Russians for the purchase of weapons, especially aircraft, aircraft engines, missiles, etc. The Chinese UAV/UCAV tech is extremely sophisticated, but the Russians can equally hold their own. This claim from the Americans make no sense. Anyway if true I don't see the Chinese honour the demand from the Americans. |

Betterprospect: Good day Nairalander. I'm single, 30 years old. I studied agriculture related course at University level, and I presently worked in that field and I earned about 120k monthly.
I feel unfulfilled and I'm lacking interest day after day. The unfulfillment brewed mostly from my bosses egoistic and narcissistic approach to his employee, the insane working hours, and the lack of liberty, and most importantly, I feel I could do better. Now I have a meagre 2 million naira saved up, small? I know. Buy I'd like to pursue my passion in tech albeit from ground zero.
Now my dilemma is:
1. Seeing that I'm old and already past my prime for a career change at 30 yrs old, does a pursue of another career make sense?
2. Knowing that 2 million is small and would not last long. Does is it make sense to just up and leave?
3. I have a small biz I ideal which I feel could give me close to 50k monthly, but thing is, this is Nigeria and I might be wrong.
4. Should I just suck it up and continue for another year or two? Everyone I asked seems to think I should.
P,S. I worked 12 hours a day and its impossible I merge the two together. You are still very young and you can definitely make a switch to tech. Don't be so hard on yourself. People are even making that switch at 40+. I suggest you draw up an action plan for yourself. Determine what intend to do in the tech field and how you intend to achieve it. Then INVEST in yourself (online courses, ebooks, etc). It will take a considerable sacrifice, but you will be fine. |

respect80: A lot of Putin supporters are yet to come to terms with the simple reality that Putin has made a mockery of himself and Russian military might in this invasion of Ukraine. Imagine the number of worn out and abandoned Russian military artillery all over Ukraine. Russia should be ready to give a critical thought before trying to engage any country more sophisticated than Ukraine in the slightest because they may not survive it. All I see is that minus nukes, Russia is just another average country that can't easily over run any country that is ready to go head on with them It took the combined arms of USA, UK, Poland, etc to defeat a much weaker Iraq in 40+ days during the 2nd Gulf War of 2003. Yet Russia is expected to have run over Ukraine in just 17 days? Sure they've lost some assets, but has that stopped the Russian advance? Right now Mariupol I about to fall and seige of Kyiv has begun. Russian air and missile strikes are already hitting targets in west Ukraine near Lviv. The Russians have only begun. By the time they're through, the Ukrainians will fully understand why Vladimir Putin won the 2nd Chechen War. |

Assad has lost half of his country and this ecomony is in shambles. He lost the war. You better go and look at the situation map of Syria again. A few things: *NATO is not directly involved in the Syrian war *The Assad regime presently controls MOST of Syria *The Americans had withdrawn to the eastern oilfields under Trump. *The Turks have a buffer zone only at Erbil, Northern Syria. |

Help us beg Putin make he no use that thing for Ukraine oh Multiple TOS-1 systems have been deployed. One was used on Saturday night. Less than a week into the war and he wants to press the Nuclear button already... This tells you how weak Putin's army is.
Almost half of the offensive have crossed borders into Ukraine. Yet, he is left with no option than to go nuclear.
If Putin nukes Ukraine or any country, he is a sore loser. What if he was fighting USA, NK or UK?
Russian heavy armour just crossed in yesterday. Ukrainian power plants are being captured while oil depot's and gas lines are blown up. Major cities are being encircled. Soon the cordon round each city will begin to tighten. Systems like the TOR-1 are even yet to unleash their thermobaric rounds. Russia has not started yet. |

Truly, the Ukrainians are resorting to misinformation. The Russians initially used just a part of it's invasion force (mostly VDV Paratroopers). They rolled in the heavy stuff today (T72B3 MBTs, TOR-1 platforms with thermobaric rockets, more BTRs and BMPs, etc). Right now Kharkiv is experiencing it's worst shelling. And the Russians haven't even rolled out it's Su-34 Fullback fighter bombers, or even the heavy Backfire bombers. So when did they approach Kazakhstan for troops? It makes absolutely no sense. |

Frankly I don't think it was a wise last stance. 13 Border Guards against 1 Russian Warship armed with cruise missiles, cannons, CIWS, heavy machine guns, and probably its own contingent of Russian marine infantry onboard? In my opinion the Island was indefensible and they should've withdrawn to the mainland to fight another day. That said, peace to the fallen warriors. Balls of steel right there. |
