He did nothing in Lagos you kid. Apart from raising the IGR by over and double taxing people using Agberos, man did nothing!
Look at Lagos still looking like an expensive slum. Fashola even brought more development than this corrupt clown. Guess you were too young then.

I want APC to give him the ticket so Nigerians can embarrass him properly.
God bless you and your household a thousand folds for saying the truth. Post on point. Apart from turning Lagos to his personal fiefdom, placing himself as the sole collector of taxes, over taxing Lagosians, I don't see what Tinubu achieved in Lagos. Even Fashola performed way better, and most developments in Lagos are driven PRIMARILY by the private sector, all thanks to Lagos's massive population and enterprising spirit, inspite of the hardships thrown by govts.

Of course the Service has AK47s in armory.

As the most common automatic infantry weapon in the world, it only makes sense to have some, even if just for training and familiarity.

This is just like asking if the USA have AK47s in their numerous armouries.

As for use on DSS operations, I leave it to those who know more to answer you.

I always wondered about the trench coats too, but seeing as the local alternative is Agbada, it's kinda obvious why they chose the coats .

Not so. The Police have their SPU that gives close protection detail too. They're likely whom you saw
I'm not so sure about that. For Governor's, SPU Officers are used as ADCs while NCOs and Rank-&-File provide that 1st line of defence (part of the uniformed Counter-Assault team), pretty much the same work MOPOL units attached to State Government Houses did. They don't go around in black trench coats, and certainly are not a primary part of any Governor's close protection detail.

Wow...roll out this vehicle enmass and issue to the Army and Police Mobile Squadrons. Imagine our MOPOL officers operating these beasts up north in the style of the infamous Koevoet during the border wars in Namibia during the 80s.

It’s not a downgrade and it’s not Ak-47 either.

DSS is using Ak-103
It was actually the AK-47 I saw with wooden furniture, not any of the new AKs with polymer. At a point I thought the operators were Cops, but I know for a fact that only DSS provide close protection detail. Anyway I just thought it odd as the DSS usually gets top of the line fire-arms. Even a member of the Governor's Close Protection accidentally exposed his side arm tucked behind his suit and I was surprised that it was a good ole Beretta M9 favoured by the NPF (along with the Makarov) instead of the IWI Jericho. Oh well.
Foreign Affairs › Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by ocelot2006(m): 2:17pm On Jan 01, 2022
Another question for the house: since when did the DSS make a downgrade firearm-wise to the AK-47 with fold stocks? I ask because of 2 observations. (1)During MNK's first trial, some DSS agents were armed with AK-47s. (2)In a recent event in Akwa Ibom State, ALL the Governor's counter-assault team members were armed with AK-47 assault rifles with foldstocks concealed in their signature black trench coats. And I mean good ole AKs with basic wooden furniture, no piccantily rails or optics? Why? I thought the DSS got the very best when it comes to assault rifles. But now even the Prison Service has rifles. What's happening?

Oh, and why the black trenchcoats, especially with our hot weather? Dustin powder is expensive o .

Don't just blame the Nigerian populace because I have booked the vaccination twice and the first centre I went to I was told they are no more vaccinating and I was referred to another center still nothing happenednow I want book another one. The health workers themselves are not serious
Well my own story is absolutely different. 'checked 2 vaccination centres down here in Akwa Ibom and they were virtually empty. Only folks present were the Nurses equipped with the specialized containers with the vaccine jabs in them, and a NAFDAC officer. I had my first jab, and was promptly contacted via text for a my 2nd jab. Presently awaiting my booster shot. One thing is certain: turn out for the vaccine is ridiculously low and I blame it on stupid conspiracy theories being peddled around.

They got expires so quick. Is it the fault of the federal ministry to distribute to the various vaccination centers or what. People need this thing
They expired quickly because most require stringent temperature control measures. When a large chunk of Nigerians REFUSE to get vaccinated mostly for flimsy reasons, what do u expect?Keep in mind that nobody hoarded these vaccines.

One million lives saved by this action of destroying those Trojan horse gift called vaccines about to expire, Covid is now an endemic disease like malaria in Africa, we contract it and treat it as acute malaria, you get cured and develop herd immunity.

With 2% Vaccination, there's far less hospitalization than Europe which is using all draconian rules to force their people to get vaccinated.
You only develop herd immunity when 70% of the population is vaccinated. So how did you arrive at your point. However, thanks you conspiracy theories carried by folks like you, we've only vaccinated far less than 3% of the population, we've totally wasted the vaccines, we are now in a 4th wave, and the virus itself has once again EVOLVED, and people have died......all thanks to CONSPIRACY THEORIES.

Same youths later complain that the country's bad, there are no jobs, and that they're constantly harrassed and brutalized by cops.

You see why I have no hope in this nation?

Cobra helicopter procurement is not rubbish. Nigeria has been presenting the request since GEJ era. PMB administration is rə presenting it again. Nigeria has the cash to pay for 12 Cobras over 2 years at N330bn.
Choppers are needed for Nigeria's peculiar security situation and we can't depend on a single supplier, Russia.
The Cobras last very long and they have long airframe fatigueife
Well I guess there are spare part compatibility with the Bell 412 we already fly, so that should ease maintenance. But I would've preferred if they still went for the Russian Hinds before the Americans begin to dictate to us where and when we should use those Cobras. Btw arent the Cobras we're interested in those old Isreali Air force airframes the Isrealis wanted to sell?
