To be fair, i've heard a lot about Gadzama and he is quite competent. The nation stands to gain from his years of service in the intelligence services. |

iberu001: Says who, I said they are among the security units attached to the President and VP against foreign threat. The DSS primary job is to protect the President,VP and VIP. Let me cite u and example,few years back when Clinton was the president,he was on his way for a function in US when the CIA attached to his security team told his convoy to return back to due to possible attack from Al-Qaeda, so they returned back to WH then they later discovered a bomb underneath a bridge where his convoy have to pass. If not for CIA he might be dead now. So Al Qaeda no be foreign threat abi na domestic. I dey tell u Wetin I knw. The NIA is NOT attached to the President's close protection detail in ANY WAY. That is the sole responsibility of the DSS. NIA's sole focus is foreign espionage outside the shores of Nigeria. And with respect to your example, yes the CIA probably shared intelligence with the Secret Service about a threat to Clinton's life, and the Secret Service ACTED on that intel. THAT IS THEIR JOB. However, you DO NOT see CIA agents attached to the protective detail of the President. Hell, the CIA's espionage works within the territories of the United States is restricted and focussed EXTERNALLY. . That falls under the purview of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). |

Thurifer: U don't know what u are saying. *The DSS are trained on Defence Tactics and protection of Subject or Assetswhile the Military are trained on both Defence and Attacking Tactics (And of recent years now, they are trained on HOSTAGE RESCUE MISSION) *The DSS are the A-List of the biggest agency in terms of Defence Info, Intel, and Commencement (more of office agents) while the Military are the Defence Body that secure externals from the country (Field Agency) *I Would have love to enlighten u more but to cut the long coaching short, in terms of COMMAND, POWER and AUTHORITY... MILITARY is the highest Order. Be Guided 1) The DSS is PRIMARILY a domestic intelligence agency although it's functions mirrors that of the Isreali Shinbet. However it isn't the only Service trained in defence tactics. The Army's Military Police and the Police's SPU are equally trained. 2) I'm not sure about A list, but if I'm going to place one agency/service as the Top Dog, it will be the NIA, not DSS. Keep in mind that the Army is actually the most influential of the tri-services in the military. |

iberu001: Who says NIA isn't suppose to be among the security details, is there such in the constitution.My bro I'm telling u what I knw . NIA are not involved in close protection detail in any way. Their's is solely foreign intelligence (espionage). The DSS is the one responsible for close protection details, while the Police SPU (along with DSS agents) counter-assault the outer counter-assault teams in same detail. |

HarunaWest: lol...DSS civilian ke...If soldier go DSS training make I hear say he no confirm.....A DSS that is trained to take a bullet whereas army is taught to return fire...Except recent recruitments into the service, in terms of intellects and tactics, you shud compare the DSS to NIA or EFCC and not NA Physical wise, the DSS don't come close to the Army. The later's physical regimen is quite brutal. Intellect wise, the DSS obviously takes it as it is an intelligence service/organization. Finally, please don't compare DSS to NIA. The NIA is on a whole new level and draws from the very best from the DSS, military, and NPF. |
Politics › Re: DSS: We Didn’t Arrest Sowore In Court — His Supporters Were Only Acting by ocelot2006(m): 11:48pm On Dec 07, 2019 |
GeoAfrikana: Lalasticlala, other side of the story.
Emotions and sentiments apart;
First, sincerely when I watched the video yesterday I was confused. I didn't see any persona that looked like a DSS officer. I've once had an 'encounter' with DSS officers. They escorted the corpse of a federal icon from Abuja to our village for burial. They arrived early in the night, witnessed the burial, shot guns in the air and drove off.
It was an intimidating experience. They were so organised and gallant. Their men were heavily built and their guns were sophisticated. No one in that video is similar to the typical DSS officer in my imagination.
Secondly, the word REVOLUTION that Sowore used is enough crime against him. I'm almost certain that if someone tried a tenth of such in the US he would be corpse in less than a month. Or at least be undead in Guantanamo.
Note: I'm opened to objective counter-arguments. If you rationally, objectively and politely debate my points then I'll listen to you. I'm willing to engage in intellectual debates.
But if all you have is insults and curses then expect no response from me.
Thanks for reading. Typical DSS agents are meant to look discreet as the DSS is the nation's domestic intelligence service similar to the Isreali Shinbet. That's how they are able to blend in and gather information that's later processed into actionable. Those agents you saw are probably members of counter assaults teams of VIP close protection details (black outfits, body armour, Tavor CTAR-21s/FN-FS2000s/Galil ACE and Jericho 941 pistols). Actual field officers gathering intel from HUMINT sources are usually very secretive. So it's absolutely possible that DSS agents we're in the courtroom to effect the arrest of Sowore. |

Because of their lack of maturity during that particular phase of their lives. Most of them aren't always committed to whatever relationships they're in and will always two-time you. So dating them is simply not worth the effort, funds, or emotion. |

The Mi-35M are ok, but we need a considerable lift capability. Buying more Mi-17 Transport helos would've been preferable. And we need better fixed wing fighter jets like the Su-27 or Mig-29SMT |

I agree we should be using a lot of L-39s in the daytime. F7NI is useless on the battle field only good for destroying bases F7NI useless? I thought we acquired precision munition kit for the F7s, hence they employment in theatre up north. |

WARTHUNDER: The blood of 2,000 KIA Kurdish fighters and 10,000 WIA, defeated ISIS, not Iraqi army aviation. Helicopters will help but not the winning tool. We all read about it, and experts who witnessed the war tell the world that Kurdish men on ground were main key to victory over ISIS not helicopters. If you're referring to ISIS defeat in Iraq, what about Iraqi Special Operations Force (ISOF- Golden Brigade) that basically engaged ISIS from the very beginning when other Iraqi Army units fled, and the Shia Militia groups with backing from Iran? These units equally deserve commendation for the defeat of ISIS in Iraq. |
