today Presidency responded to issues earlier raised with respect to the President's promise to abolish the office of the First lady. For Instance 1. The media aide claims that "There will be no access to public funds. It will be purely private and voluntary” How then does he explain the secret appointment of Senior Special assistants and other official aides who are paid by tax payer's ? 2. Garba Shehu says the President intends to set the office of the Wife of the President What is the difference between the two offices? From March 29 Buhari already Knew he was going to be president two months later he was sworn in . despite having a 2 month's head start GMB appears "Clueless" as to how to Lead the greatest black Nation on earth! This was Buhari's promise on INEC Create a functionally independent and well-resourced Electoral Commission which is free from political interference. Those who saw the office as a waste of public resources switched camps and aligned with him 2. Those who saw the "overbearing" influence of the former first lady screamed the messiah has come!!!! 3.those who simply wanted GEJ out because of his wife found a leader in the retired general. Believe it or not that statement gave him a good number of votes However, Like the Promise of 20,000 megawatts vanished with a simple statement from Lai Mohammed and the Public assets declaration metamorphosed into an APC promise, the pledge not to have an office for the first Lady has all but disappeared. The Punch Newspapers this week reported that unknown to public the Hajia Aisha Buhari who moved into the Villa before her husband had since taken over the office of the first lady with full parafenlia and retinue of aides. http://www.punchng.com/news/aisha-buhari-takes-over-patience-jonathans-office/ The deception was further taken to another level when the President secretly appointed Hajo Sani as Senior Special assistant for an office he promised not to entertain under his administration. Even when confronted with the facts Femi Adeshina and Garba Shehu were unable to provide explanations as to why they refused to announce the appointment until it was leaked to the public. The only change that has taken place is the change in nomenclature from first Lady to Wife of the President. This post election change in behavioural pattern raises a lot of questions 1 . Does changing goal post after election amounts to obtaining votes by false pretence? 2. Does re defining electoral promises by one party after hoodwinking the other party to do its bidding amount to a betrayal of trust ? 3. Does a man who could not keep his own words have the moral right to ask others to do so ? Why will a President who has previously declared an office unconstitutional turn around to allocate public funds and appoint senior public officers to an office that he promised to scrap? For the antagonists I have these few words.... This thread is not about Wailing far from it 1. It's about asking a Party and an individual to keep the Promises and pledges they made to Nigerians 2. It's about asking a man who many claim is a man of honour to do what is Honourable 3. The word "pledge" used here is stronger than the word "Promise" although I am not an authority in english . He also promised to get his appointees to do same as a PRE- condition for appointments! We are yet to see the Asset Declaration of the following people 1. Lawan Daura DG SSS/ self appointed EFCC chairman 2. Adeshina himself and Garba Shehu 3. GMD NNPC, NIMASA MD, and a host of other appointments made. Like Fayose said Buhari's Government makes so much noise without substance, informing Armed robbers you are coming is simply telling them with me you will always have a head start ,so flee ! Buhari has no moral justification to alleniate himself from the party that gave him the ticket! When Saraki referred to Prof Yemi Osinbajo as a mere commissioner many did not find it funny at all including yours sincerely. Nevertheless, as we are beginning to understand, it seems nobody within the APC power block sees Professor Osinbajo beyond that appellation ............. Protocol wise it is unthinkinble for the Vice President's protocol officers to be fighting for space with a governors aide, to make matters worse the same Governor did not even show up for the event. For a governor o to abandon a sitting vice president of thesame party to attend to an impromtu meeting outside the state not minding the fact the event was the burial of no other person but the Ooni of Ife Himself shows how highly revered the petit VP is within the APC power circle. The claim by the governor that he was invited to Lagos for a very urgent meeting further complicates issues for Mr Osinbajo who suddenly found himself as chief host and special guest simultaneously. 27 years AGO, Auma Obama picked her brother Barack from the Airport in Kenya when he traveled home to visit his paternal family. She drove him home in her "old Volkswagen" car. She did not mind that he probably came from America with nothing. Years AFTER, he returned home few days ago. He arrived at the same Airport, and his sister was there again to meet him. This time around, he lifted her in the most technogically sophisticated car in the world known as the BEAST. He arrived home this time, not as the ordinary Barack who had to hang around the airport about 4 hours waiting for his sister, but as the most powerful and most influential and most important political figure in the world. Dabbling into INEC related matters when a competent tribunal has been constituted to handle election related matters, was the Lowest! It's like passing a vote of No confidence on the tribunals if the APC or DSS feels their Principals were cheated they should make their case before the Judge's at the tribunal instead of "Kidnapping" molesting Electoral umpires and detaining Tribunal members it is simple unacceptable!!! 18 Likes 1 Share |
