shymmex: Will Nigeria back down, or tell David Cameron to go F himself? Your guess is as good as mineMy exact line of thoughts is in bold red. And purple ![]() |
@ lawyer, always on point. Thanks for your reply. God willing, look forward to doing biz with you sometime in future. Seems I may not have to use rent tribunals nor court sheriffs. I hear 1 of the tenants has started moving already though my fingers are still crossed on the other. If I may ask [so others can learn], if a tenant decides to act funny, can he/she be compelled to pay for his/her illegal extra time in the property? @ Sprumbaba, you bad O! lol. I guess stubborn tenants call for extreme measures. |
Yep most 9ja women do save those 9ja men who have instilled fear into their wives [saw this once with a neighbor] Thanks to NL, one learns more daily about the behavioral traits of the average 9ja woman not just only from Fela singing Lady. |
Hello NLers ![]() I would like your insights into how to go about ejecting tenants after they were given eviction notices which has now lapsed. The property in question is two 3 bedroom flats Both tenants received 6 months eviction notices which lapsed in February though their rents lapsed in November/December 2011 They approached the agent for a 1 month extension grace [end of March] which he [agent] granted unilaterally without the landlord's [my guardian's] consent nor documentation of the request ![]() My guardian is suspecting the 2 tenants are acting out a script to elongate their stay in consonance with the agent due to his foot dragging and lack of integrity in granting the 1 month extension I want to suggest to my guardian ;the disconnection of the flats from PHCN mains, changing of the main gate's padlocks and stopping of water to the flats once March ends this weekends to drive home the point the tenants are unwanted Yet I would like to receive insights from others who have encountered such challenges and how they solved it Also if there are other legal ways one can go about this [so I can offer this advice to my guardian] Thanks a bunch in advance ![]() |

If you visit me in my modest apartment tomorrow morning, I will not be in church. I believe strongly that the church has a mission to save a human civilization that is clearly adrift. I believe that I am only because God is. I believe not just in the historicity of Jesus Christ but in the enduring reality of his eternal presence. But then, why will I not be in church tomorrow? The answer is simple. It is unfortunate that the church itself, especially its Pentecostal variant, that claims moral and spiritual superiority is lost in the wilderness. I cannot understand the intense religiosity of a nation and the vulgar prosperity of its church amidst the abject material and spiritual poverty of its people. It is a study in contracts. Most of our Pentecostal leaders today lust after such titles as Bishop, Archbishop, Prophet, Apostle or Doctor. Amazingly, Jesus was simply Jesus! ...................................................................................Segun Ayobolu http://www.thenationonlineng.net/2011/index.php/columnist/saturday/segun-ayobolu/40040-i-will-not-be-in-church-tomorrow.html |
Now that he's shaken the monkey off his back, the PGA should get more interesting. Not forgetting more $$$$$$$$$$ in his billfold. ![]() |
RIP mama Haruna. |
Is this nonsense what this senators paid millions do in Abuja? ![]() Such a dumb suggestion. Last year it was Ekeremadu [deputy Senate president] speaking about legitimizing prostitution. Now this from another 'jobless' man been paid by the state. Why not suggest men should be banned from their wives at night? |
@ gbogboti and strangest, I doubt the coup in Mali played a part seeing both countries are different case scenarios. Also know that Senegal is only West African country yet to see a coup. In how many African countries does the incumbent call up his challenger before the results are officially announced to concede defeat ?We this mainly in the Occidental world. Old man wade has his faults but lets cut him some slack and applaud him on this. It shows Senegal is not a basket case democracy like 'giant of Africa[ ]' Nigeria. ![]() |
1 thing we seemingly and willingly seem to forget is that Nigeria [including the Army many are calling the messiah] is heavily fragmented along religious and tribal lines like never before. We have ethnic militias stocking up ammunition and running rings around our security forces. MEND dropped our oil production to 700k barrels from 2.1 million barrels BH has turned the north into ghost towns and some people are seeing the military as the savior. ![]() SMh in disbelief. ![]() |
Da infamous: rufai is a fool, does he think that military coup in nigeria will not result to braking up the last bolts that hold the country together? mali is in big trouble the rebels are taking over town by town in the south and these rebel have links with (AL Q) and you people think that MASSOB/MEND which have already secure Eastern Nigeria suppose to be a hint to rufai and boko haram sponsors that any military coup will lead to quick dismantling of nigeria watch the video and seeYou took the words out of my mouth. Most people seem not to know this. |
^^^^^^^^^^ if I may add, i recall reading an interview in a newspaper with a lawyer sometime back. cant recall his [lawyer's] name but recall him saying he went law book shopping in Britain some time back and was told the bookshop [which was a top notch one] has no book on election tribunal cases as such [election tribunals] was alien to British politics. If we cast our mind back, we recall Al Gore conceding defeat to George Bush in 2000 even though Florida had a lot of issues not allocating legitimate votes to him. 9ja must grow up or we blow up. |
afam4eva: This man is not totally bad afterall. This kind of action from an African leader is commendable.Exactly. like a commentator said, though he lost the election, he won the moral victory seeing he called Macky Sall to congratulate him thus conceding defeat. Which major Nigerian presidential aspirant has called the winner to concede defeat or congratulate the winner since 1999? ![]() Rather the lawyers make a killing at the electoral petition tribunals. Shows 9ja has a lot of growing up and learning to do. |
At long last, after the hydrant, the "transgressions," the Perkins waitress, the divorce, the injury, and the endless streams of jokes, Woods has finally won again. It's been 924 days since Woods won a tournament, 924 days during which, at some point, everyone who's ever followed Woods must have wondered if he'd ever win again. But he did on Sunday in comfortable confines, Bay Hill and the Arnold Palmer Invitational, a tournament he's now won seven times. He did so facing down one of his more persistent challengers in Graeme McDowell; it was McDowell who denied Woods a victory in 2010 by catching and passing him at the Chevron Classic. More at links below http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/golf-devil-ball-golf/tiger-woods-returns-winning-ways-long-last-victory-223050286.html http://www.mercurynews.com/golf/ci_20253540/tiger-woods-winner-tour-again-after-30-months |
Former golf number one ranked player Tiger Woods won his first PGA tournament in two and a half years when he won the Arnold Palmer invitational for the 7th time on Sunday. More to follow. |
News like this shows all hope is not lost for African democracy. Also that old man Wade didn't use the state apparatus to rig. He must be commended for this. Hope the PDP & ACN rigging machines [especially PDP] are imbibing this. |
Senegal's President Abdoulaye Wade admits defeat in a run-off election to his rival Macky Sall. All major news networks are reporting this story. http://www.aljazeera.com/news/africa/2012/03/2012325215047179839.html |
The same ghana that we burrowed money when OBJ was president? ![]() 9ja has to rethink her foreign policy and aid to other countries fast enough! |

@ OP, the issue is most likely from Access bank esp if you were banking before with Intercontinental Bank As of last week, you couldn't use your IB Plc ATM card to withdraw money ![]() Reason? ![]() They had disabled IB Plc's switch Now is that dumb or what! ![]() Prior to that IB Plc's ATMs work in starts and stops on their network I currently have a similar problem like yours& have filled the so called form I withdrew 80k but got billed for 120k on an Access bank ATM I only got to know when customer care helped me check my acct balance They have serious issues with integrating IB Plc's customers Except you use the cashier in withdrawing, you receive no alerts Money was deposited in my acct yesterday but I'm yet to be notified as I type Let's hope they solve it ASAP seeing many people had similar compliants whilst I was filling out the form |
How Chelsea no lose this match? ![]() Gareth Bale needs to become a team player instead of seeking self glory. Even Adebayor is a better team player now. |

Alams is a Convicted criminal and thief but the number 1 citizen sees no qualms in associating with him. Nigeria is a really sad story to behold and Jonahan is a sorry excuse for a President and C in C.Which Nigeria is the OP talking about? ![]() This present corrupt one or a new one been dreamt about? ![]() Welcome to reality bo. Jonathan is a bigger slime ball than Alams, face it! ![]() And 9ja as presently constituted is led by ex-cons and crooks. Sorry but so true ![]() |
Same 'ol story Does credit withdrawal limits not apply to public officials again? Was he the sole signatory? 9ja has long been a country that you see less as you look more. 9ja:a land domiciled by thieves of all hues, tongues and accents. |

Nigerian leaders are weaklings, if they can't stand up to the UK. We all saw how they back down during the ARIK thing - I'm sure they would do the same this time.
