If the bride price is not returned and she remarries the children produced in the new marriage belongs to the previous husband.

This is why men must insist on paying #10,000,000 bride price as future investment so on the day the woman decides to return the bride price you can be sure of buying a new tear rubber car and clear some debts.

And this is why the woman's family should demand for only #20.00 as bride price so on the day your daughter runs away you will not carry gbese. Its not good to be greedy.

Young boys and girls and panel of judges hope i have been able to convince and confuse you with these few points of mine? grin

Hello people

Please help with your inputs....I will be very brief.

A man married a woman.. the marriage produced a kid. Along the line they had an unreconcilable issue...I called it unreconcilable because the man had begged the woman, called elders and everyone in sight to help beg but the woman is unforgiving. Now after some years of the woman staying out of their matrimonial home. (Cos she moved out with the children) she called the man and told him she wants to move on and remarry and that the man should tell her how to return the dowry paid on her. She is also making the man sign an undertaking that he can always come to see the children whenever he wants. Though the agreement didn't state that the children can always visit their father whenever they want.

Now my question,, should the man accept the dowry or he should reject it but let her move on?

Secondly, the agreement stating that he can only visit the children at her maybe new home. Is it proper? Cos as it is the children cant go to their fathers. Please ur opinions are welcomed.. DNT mind my typography.
This answer is simple, I am from the Eastern part of the country so i will take it from that point of view. If Hanti no wan do again and wants to remarry, she 'must' leave the children in their father's house then go ahead to remarry.

But if the man's family has refused to collect the paid bride price and the girls family is in agreement with her, they should simply go there (to the man's family house) with a jeg of palm wine and drop it for them whether they collected it or not.
But the woman must never under any circumstance take the children to another man's house without the permission of the man (ex) husband. There are implications to such behavior!

Go to court and seek redress why should she be the one drafting the agreements.
Which kin court?! This is where we all get it wrong. What happened to the traditional institution? That's the fairest place this kind of issue can be settled.

Family › Re: Is My Dad Trying To Have An Extramarital Affair? by od501: 7:43am On Apr 12, 2020
whyteteeth:
Eversince this lockdown I have been home with my parents and there is a way my dad looks at one particular lady whenever she comes around to buy things in my mother's shop which I think is inappropriate. He teases her and calls her sweet names also. As a guy I have tried not to take it serious since it's one thing a lot of men do but I am beginning to suspect my dad for trying to have an extramarital affair with this said woman. She is beautiful though and she is still a young woman while my dad is in his fifties.

Now today, My father asked this same woman who happens to be a female tailor and makes female clothes to help him fix a zip in one of his trousers, which has possibly gone bad.

The woman blushed and didn't really give him much attention or any reasonable answer while he was busy saying it repeatedly till the woman left. I find this a little bit disturbing and inappropriate and possibly giving wrong signals. I mean it's not like it's a new clothe the woman was making for him or something. .

Another reason why I find this inappropriate and indecent is that, the zip can actually be fixed by any of these aboki people that mend clothes. Aboki do pass around my area every now and then, even yesterday they passed. So I want to know if my dad is up to something? And if he is, well i will just know for knowing sake.
Which one is extra marital affair again? Make una keep deceiving yourselves. No go leave the man to live his existence.

Ma bro... It's not stubborness, how do you expect gov to lock someone indoors without food on top 7.5% increase and expect him to comply? If not for anything, how do you expect him to pay his house rent cos obviously gov is not considering that. These guys had rather open the markets than pay you a dime, so you are on your own here . If you sit at home, you die, if you go out, you still die. So it is better you hustle and die than dying slowly in your houses.

youngvikthor:
My brother was staying with my aunty since 2017 so early this year he decided to rent his own apartment after saving some money

So January this year, he told my mum that I should come and stay with him that he will look for work for me which he did. Since my arrival to this place, my cosin sister alway visits us. The house is not far from ours. She will come in name of helping us to cook.

While she and my brother will be touching themselves even when am around, most people in our compound thought she is my brother's girlfriend. I also noticed some used condoms in our room and my brother did not have girlfriend.

Fast forward to yesterday Monday, I went to work
and our boss said we should go back due to the issue of this covid 19, I reach House only for me to see my sister lying dawn with just singlet, playing game with my brother's phone.

And my brother was in the bathroom. I don't really know what to do, if I should tell my mother or not, my aunty is such a kind person she at times gives us food stuff and even money and I don't want my brother to get angry with me.

Please I need your help, he is 26, I'm just 21
My brother, i have read through comments here and only relised one thing, that this forum is full of either under aged fellows or people who has completely lost connection with their culture courtesy of the so-called western education with a spite of western religion.

My brother, what your brother did/doing is called an abomination of the highest degree! If something is not done about it, the implication is eminent. I don't know where you come from, but I come from the Eastern part of the country and in my place, you are required to go for cleansing which is associated with some other rituals i can't really start saying here.
What i have noticed in this generation is that everything goes, more reason we will continue to breed a generation of complete idiots who has lost connection with their heritage thus, moving around like a stray goat!

This is what you will do, first they 'must stop' that Sacrelage at once! I don't care how you do it but it 'must' stop. Then you guys must consult an elder asap, to be on a safer side your parents are the best alternative. If your parents are well grounded with the culture, they know to take it up from there, (I can't really start saying stuffs here). But you guys are not traditional type, prooceed to your spiritual adviser, he knows what to do.

Never for one second think that these things are primitive and lacks relevance. I always tell people never let any prof, pastor, or whosoever make you think that the ways of your ancestors are demonic or devilish. These are people we once existed when God himself still walk the earth, their laws are the laws of God himself. Ignore it to your peril.

This is not to scare you, but I won't be fair my generation if i fall to let you know the simple reality. If you fail to expose your brother, whatever calamity that will befall him, you are bound to have a fare share of it. Go to churches today and see how many people seeking to be delivered or to get one spiritual intervention or the other. Most of them are self-afflicted, some are so easy that all they need to do to go and confess to their victims, etc.

From your age and with the way you talk, I have assumed that you lack the experience and understanding of life as an African. I don't blame you though, our education system has been so westernized that we are slowly forgetting who we are as a people, what works for us and what doesn't. I rest my case, do the right thing no matter how difficult it looks.

Mind you a whole lot of people sleep with their cousin. I personally know two of my friends who did it. People just don’t talk about it since it’s a taboo. They are both grown enough to know this.

Say no to incest. And for that man quoting me down there. I know people who did it doesn’t mean I support incest. It’s a taboo where I am from and I know the detriment of it both traditionally and medically.
I used a whole lot, I shouldn’t have, but try going to sites like quora and reddit and see a lot of story foreigners who do it even when it’s a taboo there as well.
My point is people do it here, even some who will open this thread cheesy cheesy ;DBut you know how Nigerians are
My broda, i am relived to see your comment, at least you still recognize the culture here. The bad side of this is that the implications lingers through out one's life. And at the end of the day they start jumping from one pastor to another looking for solution.

First of all, i hail the Nigerian doctors who have successfully treated the Italian who brought the virus to the country, who now turns negative. They've done it again as they did in ebola virus days and they deserve commendation for that.

The government of the day must now do the needful to equip our hospitals, provide basic health facilities and improve the conditions of our health workers nationwide because epidemics no dey send warning signs before striking. Our government's primary assignment is to save the lives of those they govern as they're seen as servants to them and not masters.

On cloroquine issue, it can never finish lol. Local pharmaceutical companies would rather commence mass production to help prevent any possible scarcity.
But how come nobody is asking how he was cured all of a sudden. This same virus is killing Italian every 30 minutes.

Hi everyone.

I am new here, in fact this is going to be my first post on nairaland. Forgive me if I break any rule, I will keep it very simple.

I'm a fresh graduate, just graduated last year, was not able to go for NYSC due to my age. Simply want to ask, what are the chances of securing a job considering I am above 30.

Before I forget, I studied Business Administration (KASU) with a second class upper. Thanks everyone.
I have been reading comments here and all I can say is that Nigerian youths still have a alooooong way to go when it comes to career and social issues. So cos you are 30 years old authormatically there is no job for u?! Where is your sense of pragmatism? I even saw some guy saying something like "no time", no time for what exactly?! See... We should shun this life our society have designed for us! Go to school, graduate at a certain age, get married at a certain age, have ur children at a certain age, bla bla bla..... Have asked yourself your purpose in life? Or you are just here to get married, have endless sex and reproductive?

See, we are our source of depression in this country. If you continue thinking like this my bro I guarantee you will definitely be depressed before the year ends, and believe me u don't want to fall in that category.

As for the job thing, baba, don't waste much time looking for a job in this country, not cos your age or anything like it, but for the fact that there is none. Find a way to raise funds and engage in any lucrative trade, but still have your eye on the labor market just in case. Focus more on building your business and yourself as well, and never make the mistake of getting a wife cos u are running out of time... Never!

Lastly, enjoy everything bit of your life as it comes.

I'm talking from experience bro... I graduated and served at 29, though still single, but plan to have children at 36 (never a fan of marriage). I'm into the IT world and can work from anywhere, right now, I even go to the pool on a Monday morning! That's how I roll now, but It wasn't easy at first cos u have to build these things till it reaches an autopilot stage. Not a millionaire yet, but I have my future right on my palms, and I want you to do the same.

Never let either parents or relative to talk you down with that "there is no time dullshit". Look inwards and ask yourself what is that you really want, the kinda life u want to live, then work towards achieving it at all cost. Finally bro.... Entrepreneurship is bae I tell u, start small, but build from there. It won't be easy but trust me it worth it.

And please don't disturb my eyes with such pathetic story again! Always creating problems where there are none! Adieu!

From the ancient times their have been female warriors, administrators, strategist, etc who have been widely celebrated in their different communities till date, e.g. Emota in ancient Benin, queen Amina, of Zaria....
