makazona: i agree with ur take except dat ur respect for OBJ is clouding ur judgement.he didnt sacrifice his son.the son is a Nigerian soldier for Gods sake who fight for glory/medal and is paid/promoted for his bravery.

Other soldiers bleeding in the frontline nko?? oook bcz they dont hav OBJ as a father??
If you do not know the facts , then keep quiet.
Many see the kids of these so called "one nigeria patriots" aka thieves, cruising around in Ferraris,Lamborghinis, roll Royce etc ,at the age of 17.
At 35 , they have never had a job in their lives.
At 36,they are invited/appointed to come and eat.
Only doing what others do,OBJ could easily have nominated him for a ministerial post.
You see the son of an ex president in the nigerian army(an army I would not join even as an officer) and you are claiming it is not commendable.
The OP is right on the issue.
PoliticsVideo Of Nigerian Army "Tactically Manoeuvring" Away From Boko Haram. by oduastates(op): 8:58pm On Sep 09, 2014
Something is definitely not right with the conduct of this war against the terrorist group .
Reading the comments on YouTube shows the level, some people are either willing to descend ,or continue to live in self denial.
Something is simply not right.
With All the lies coming out of the government,
Many are still behaving like everything is fine in the south
This is nothing but an army advancing backwards(retreating).
There is no doubt that the government is losing the battle.
Are they capable of winning this war?
While what happens or what people choose to do with their land is not my own concern ,
My own concern,
I hope SW Leaders are not sleeping .
I saw this users submitted video on Sahara reporters.

Get well son.
This is why Obj will forever remain the best president ever.
Despite being able to use connection to move his son to a parastatal like NNPC,a nigerian embassy overseas or a desk job in Abuja .

At least,
He has a son fighting for a country he believes in.
Unlike the children of the other thieves ,who you will only see partying and shopping in London ,newyork , Paris ,milan and Dubai .
No job,
No Service ,
No Use,
Just simply a bunch of parasites.
PoliticsRe: FG Gives Nigerian Army N300B by oduastates: 9:35am On Sep 07, 2014
Give them the entire US defense budget and nothing will improve.as long as the process and institutions are corrupt, the result will remain the same.if these generals are the best in the nigerian army, then there is absolutely no hope.
However ,my gut feeling tells me there are probably are senior officers out there ,who has being marginalised ,shunted to a desk position and out of sight, because they are competent, discipline and incorruptible .these people are probably capable of rescuing a very bad situation.
This is how nigeria works.
The olodos are always on top.
PoliticsRe: Is Nigeria A Failed State? by oduastates: 3:17pm On Sep 06, 2014
Yes,
Nigeria is a failed state.
The institutions of government are no more working.
When individual/communities take over the role of the government when that government has failed to fulfil it's obligation ,it is called a failed .
Just like Somalia,Nigeria has evolved into a comglomeration of clans and unions;with each one guarding his /her own patch and looking after his/her own interest.
The period leading to the civil war in Somalia looks very similar to Nigeria's.
Let me remind you that Somalia used to be second largest producer of oil and gas in Africa ,and still has some of the largest reserves on the African continent
The dysfunction did not start today (in fact ,it started before independence.
The terminal nature is only just becoming visible.
Foreign AffairsRe: Why Is Obama Soft On The ISIS? by oduastates: 6:31am On Sep 06, 2014
This is from a neo conservative point of view.
It is far more complicated than sending soldiers into Iraq.
This is essentially a Sunni vs Shiite war with the Saudi ,Iranians ,Lebanese ,emirate etc all thrown in between .

Osgilliat: I'm tired of these lies that this government keep spewing.why not come clean inorder to solve the problem rather than keep lying to faces of Nigerians.
word for the wise: when our government said no problem my people start to panic.
Eternal optimist,
Do you still listen to this government?
Fact is ,there is no government .
Governance in Nigeria has never gone beyond aso rock .
Family evacuating today.
Soldiers will be "tactically manoeuvring" into Cameroon tomorrow.
Have you been following this conflict at all?
The commanders are nothing short of useless and brainless.
That assaulted bama barrack had a massive hill behind it .yet Boko haram took the damn place .imagine having such a physical obstacle yet they could not defend their own barracks.
Paying ordinary well diggers to build a network of caves and bunkers could have turn that place to well supplied bunkers capable of holding out for months.
Some soldiers from the east , who deserted their army post ,were asked why,
they said ," why should they die in/for a place that is not my home ".
That my friend ,is Nigeria.
A non -Nation.
The only glue holding the country together is the esprit de corp amongst the dying stupid ,corrupt ,power usurping and devious ex-military leaders.
I must also add oil.
As much as people want to deny it ,we share absolutely nothing of substance(things needed to forge a great nation) in common.

PoliticsRe: No, Northerners Are Not Parasites. by oduastates:
This is another kunbaaya "there is no problem with the idea of Nigeria " article.
People can choose to bury their heads in the sand .
We are not the same and Nigerians live their lives that way.
Lagos gets her tomato from the north but also gets her bad governance from Abuja ,bombs from the north .Lagos makes her star lager beer but that beer is banned in the north .
Are we talking about the same tomatoes which can be grown in a plant pot anywhere in the SW.
Let them take their tomatoes ,oil and onions.
We choose our sovereignty over crap anytime.
Despite all the evidence around ;the rot ,the crime ,the lawlessness, the infrastructural decay, the difference in aspiration /world view /attitudes to modernity.
I guess the writer is invested in the one Nigeria project because he directly benefits from it.
Even foreigners are wondering why haven't broken up something that is obviously not working.
We all know the answer,
OIL
it is difficult to let go of the easy money from which , only a few benefit.
Most Nigerians derive no benefit from oil .Most northerners included. However the northern leaders want the status quo to remain.likewise some southerners.
Useless article.

Victim with 2 private jets.
If the over 1 million street kids ( almajiris )had been put in school rather than being given a beggar's bowl ,maybe Boko haram would not have had the chance to spread their evil salafist/Wahhabi ideology.
Even with the bloated population figures from the rig census ,as well as the undeserved allocation from the FG.

PoliticsRe: Nigerian Airforce "Mistakenly" Bombs Nigerian Army Barracks? by oduastates: 1:52pm On Sep 03, 2014
The definition of incompetence .
After 5yrs of Boko haram,Nigeria still does not how the required gears for this war.
Jets are for hit and run attacks on mostly static targets, helicopter gunships remain on and hover over the battlefield.
Even America ,with her precision laser guided and gps guided system will never depend on jet for battlefield supports in a fluid battlefield .
Destroy enemy lines , YES
On a fluid battlefield ,NO
This why they use drones for this purpose .Drones can stay over the battlefield for 48hrs .
I refrained from making comments earlier ,thinking the bombing raid on the barrack was to destroy ammo dumps and military supplies so as to prevent the gears from falling into Boko haram's hand.Alas,I was wrong.it is just another in the life of this clueless government and the clueless generals who are only there to ensure the rigging of the next election.

I beg to differ.
The source of information on iherika is not credible(boko haram).
While I can not defend the Possibility of him running black flag operations on the side,it is obvious that someone is trying to get him out of circulation.
One thing I cannot deny is that he is corrupt and incompetent like all the other generals.
They definitely used the cover of boko haram to feather their own next.
They were busy with their looting frenzy rather than commanding the troops.
That way, they sponsor hook haram by stealing .
Passive collaboration(theft) rather than
Active collaboration (coordination with boko haram).
