No one has resumed any work anywhere, the GMD doesn't have any power to even give such appointment, if it is a contract job or support service then i will agree with you but i know for sure all contract job in KRPC and WRPC will be expiring this June.No doubt people will be taking through recommendation but with the same process, list and resumption date. 2011 recruitment became inconclusive due to political interest that is why i wish this process come to reasonable conclusion before the political climate become balance, for now every politician is distracted with the happenings in the National assembly, after Tuesday they will start lobbying for various committees,in fact this same list is expected to pass through one of the committees for approval or so. cry

2011 recruitment was concluded. It was 2014 that was abandoned.

And pls GMD has power to give appointment o. Permanent job.

Are you telling me NNPC has not recruited permanent staff since 2012? Impossible.

One or two persons get in almost every month

For those of you who wrote nnpc test last week guess what!!! People have resumed already even before the test was written...My friend who happens to be a girl resumes two weeks back courtesy of slot she got,no exam,no interview,no nothing..As she told me,I just removed my mind from nnpc and I advise y’all to do same

Doomsday prophet.

No one has said NNPC has not recruited since the last open recruitment in 2012. 2 or 3 people resume job in NNPC every month.

That does not have anything to do with this general recruitment.

People like you said same thing in the 2011/2012 recruitment thread. Go to the end of the thread nd see people that got jobs from that general recruitment.

Someone said they will invite 14,000 people for interview.

That's practically impossible and very inefficient. I don't see NNPC doing that. They will rather raise the cut-off to prune down the list.

I will be surprised if they invite more than 5,000 for interview.

It takes a lot to interview 14,000 people. Interview is not test.

Meanwhile, I seriously doubt quota system will come up at this time.

I expect the cut-off to be the same across board. It is not possible that less than 100 candidates make it from each state.

I think they will either:

- use a uniform cut-off, or
- pick the top ranked from each state, say top 100 or 200 from each state.

Issue of quota will come up during final selection and after interview. Not at test stage, there will be enough people from each state that will pass the test.

Of course, there will be a few that will make it without writing test or irrespective of test score. But by and large, vast majority will be from this test and interview process.

I am from the North, and I hit 93.33% (precisely 56/60)! Another comment that made me laugh was some folks saying EH candidates can hardly remember their maths...I laughed and shook my head, hehehe grin

I was 8am batch.

I also have idea about how much I scored.

I missed the following:

- ECOWAS was formed 25th May 1975 (I chose 28th May)
- Antonio Guitteres is UN Sec Gen (How on earth did I pick Ban Ki Moon?!)
- Biafra start date (I think I picked 28 June/July 1967 or something, rather than 06 July)
- I picked SA for Swahili

Those are 4 I am sure I missed.

Give or take, I missed 2 more.

That's 54/60.

Worst case,50, which I seriously doubt!!!!

I have never predicted an exam score wrong!

On the SS categorization and salary scale, this is what I found guys. The salary figures with Q mark are estimates, all others are 100% correct. I hope this helps.
Many thanks @Jarus for perfectly quoting my solutions to the Combinatorics questions. Although I am an EH, but I managed to still remember those weird maths I used to play with like beans back then, 15 years ago! I am suprised that I got way too many answers perfectly correct, I am happy smiley grin

The annoying part was those past questions published by Naijabook store. Past questions sellers are scammers!

They are not scammers. They provided something for you for prepare with. They did not tell you to be mechanical, but practising with something at least gets you mentally prepared and brings some academic form to you before the exam.

This is not your school exam that you expect the exam of 7 years ago to be the same as that of today.

If you expect the test to be exactly like what you saw in the PQs, then it is no longer their issue.

They did not tell you what they were selling was leaked 2019 test. They called it past questions. Questions of 2012 were not going to be the questions of 2019 but past remains your best bet for guessing the future since no one had idea of what to expect in the 2019 test and we all needed something to use to prepare.

NNPC is not your school department.

You guys should please calm down with the questions review. I believe everyone has learnt one or two things already. Let’s forge ahead and discuss when we’re likely to get a feedback.

One thing I know for sure is that the test yesterday appeared easy because they’re things you’re pretty much familiar with. However, choosing the right answer was the major issue. In my opinion anyone that scores between 40-45/60 did well and will most likely be called for the next stage.

I think so too. I think anyone that scores 40 or above stands a very good chance of making it to the next stage.

Now am getting confused.... Please a quick question, I did not log in myself 4 d test... Was it d examination number or application Id dat was used to login 4 d test

I did not mention logging in for the test in my post.

The registration number is the number below your bar code or the number in your application slip or the application success email. Check the email you received after application in March.

The examination number is the centre+seat number which is only on the test invite (email and portal before test) ad which is also the one you used to log in.

For test login purposes, it is the exam number that you would have typed to login. It is also your exam registration number.

Greetings brave warriors from the battle of nnpc CBT, if 26 million applicants applied and approximately 60,000 applicants were called for CBT, how many will be called for interview I believe the estimated numbers will give an idea of the numbers to be called for interviews.

Ladies and gentlemen, from previous experience about govt recruitments, it's after test the orders from above and special forces becomes active irrespective of ur score/merit from CBT...so buckle up people, the race is about to be competitive

26million people did not apply. It was fake news. Less than 1 million did. Did you see anyone with a 7 digit registration number?

The test wasn't cheap o, it's only fair!
The 10AM batch, I'm sure we can testify that there was a particular Simple Interest question that the answer wasn't there among the options. The current affairs nko? E bin get as e be!

Questions bordering on the fraction of Africa to the total land mass of the earth. Who wasn't a past premier of Nigeria (I gallantly failed that one, the answer was supposed to be Aminu Kanu, I went for Dennis Osadebey). What the administrative head of the Nigerian Senate is called. Who invented the light bulb (here, they intentionally didn't feature the popular Thomas Edison in the options and I banged the answer again). What the Chief Law Officer in Nigeria is called (here again, they gave tight options such as Chief Judge, Chief Justice, the Attorney General of the Fed republic of Nigeria which was the answer). Who coined the concept of neocolonialism? I thought it was Nelson Mandela due to his fight against apartheid, not knowing that it's Nkrumah of Ghana. Date British took over RNC and the year it came to an end. The year the Soviet Union collapsed and then the very delicate one that asked for the major impediment of Nigeria development since 1960 (the notable options were, bad leadership, corruption, and overdependence on crude oil... Which would you have picked? )

The English part nko? Like what's the opposite of option? But overall, the questions were fair, you never had to rack your brain that much. In all, God's grace is what we ask for!

These are obviously tougher questions than the ones we 8am batch did. None of the above came out in our own batch - or well, in the type I wrote.

The shape is called an oval (the word `oval' comes from the Latin word for egg, and means `having the shape of an egg'). You can see that it looks like an ellipse which has been slightly squished at one end. Nevertheless, an ellipse is pretty close to the right shape.

We know oval was not part of the options. So is it sphere, ellipse or ellipsoid from the options? Not sure ellipse was part of the options sef

Is egg really a sphere or an ellipsoid?

Since the popular answer, oval, is not in the options, I still think ellipsoid is the nearest correct answer

I reviewed some of my CBT questions with the motive to LEARN from my mistakes. I was enthusiastic about knowing what led to the collapse of the Soviet Union, who coined the word "neo-colonialism", the river Niger company and many more. I was occupied with surfing the web to find answers to most of the questions I couldn't answer and I must admit I feel better for it now.

My answers to some of those questions were wrong but I take solace in the fact that I've learned something new and even more encouraged to keep learning and re-learning.

Oftentimes, such mistakes presents us with an opportunity to learn something new and become better, if only we can approach them with the right motive.

Wishing everyone tremendous success!

This is it. Exactly.

People don't know that current affairs and general knowledge in particular, are not learnt in classrooms, but in informal gatherings and random discussions like this.

By discussing answers here, no one is impressing anyone, we are only learning from each other. You never can tell where you will need this knowledge again, where you will need to write similar test again. I just got to know on this thread that Swahili is not spoken in SA. That's something new, even though I missed that question. But I never can tell where I will need that new knowledge in the future. It could even be in office discussions or a presentation.

We are also providing resource for people that will come and read this thread in the future while preparing for a future test to be organized by JAMB.

But some folks here want us to not talk about it.

Seriously, just wait...... If NNPC employ some of you guys fighting over each other's comment on cheap or not cheap, you will end up turning your offices to a boxing ground. It shows that during staff meeting you can't tolerate one another.....lol. Maybe NNPC should come on nairaland and note you guys.....this Job should be awarded in character and in test performance no company would want to employ an "I too know or know it all" attitude, it's not a good thing at all. As future leaders, must learn to accept the opinions of others, look for a way to fine tune it without necessarily creating a scene.

Also, the truth is that all of us are not meant to be in NNPC. Some of us will find relevance elsewhere like Custom, Academia, UK, Canada, US etc..... just be open minded.

Success to those who are meant to be in NNPC. cheesy

You're assuming we are not working already. Some of us applied for managerial position. We are not new to workplace, Oga. We hold regular meetings even with NNPC staff in the course of our work.

So spare us the sermon that it is Nairaland difference of opinions that will reflect ability to work in a team in the workplace. Some of us lead big departments sef.

If they re going to apply speed accuracy, that may affect very many persons if not everyone. In centre where I wrote, almost everyone finished before 30minutes. But we had to While away the time thinking that another set of questions may come ( that was because the officials told us to wait). It was surprising though

I don't see any reason why they will assess speed. If they wanted to assess speed with accuracy, they would have made the test 30 minutes.

By the way, I will be a beneficiary of that because I ended the test after 25 minutes having completed the 60 questions.

GMAT is easier than SHL but even GMAT is tougher than this.
