The 21-year old son to the general managing director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Maikanti Baru is dead, Per Second News reports. that the boy died in Dubai, United Arab Emirate (UE) on Thursday, May 18 Baru had earlier lost his mother Hajiya Fatima in April in their hometown Misau in Bauchi state. Also, a few weeks ago, Baru's sister died on the eve of one of his trip to Houston in Texas for a conference. Tragedy also struck at the Baru's family when some guest returning from his daughter's wedding died in an accident. Baru's son died in Dubai, United Arab Emirate (UE) on Thursday, May 18 l Sources said the Baru family are inconsolable of the tragedy that has happened within a short period of time. However, the family is yet to issue an official statement regarding the loss of Baru's son.

Acting President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo is under pressure mounted on him by some powerful cabal to resign according to former minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode.

In an article published on Thursday, titled ‘THE RINGING OF COUP BELLS AND A CAUSE FOR DEEP CONCERN’, Fani-Kayode said he is worried about an impending coup in Nigeria over the ill-health of President Muhammadu Buhari

He further noted that ever since 1966, the northern ruling class had always effected a coup d’etat whenever they feel sufficiently threatened with the loss of power.

“The only time that they failed to do this, to their eternal regret, was when President Goodluck Jonathan succeeded President Umaru Yar’adua after the latter’s death in 2010.

“Up until today they blame my friend and brother Lt. Abdulrahman General Dambazau for that failure and they felt he was weak and cowardly.This is because he was the Chief of Army Staff at the time and he did not strike.

“He paid a heavy price for his “weakness” and for not doing their bidding a few years later because when Buhari came to power in 2015 instead of appointing him Minister of Defence or National Security Advisor, which is what he had originally been penned down for, he appointed him as Minister of Interior which is far less strategic and important.

“As a consequence of his “failure” to strike they had to endure Jonathan for 5 long years and their response was to covertly support and encourage Boko Haram to make parts of the country “ungovernable” and to organise the whole Chibok girls affair, in collusion with a notable foreign intelligence agency and foreign Government, to get him out by 2015.

“President Muhammadu Buhari was “elected” into office that year and now his fate is similar to Yar’Adua’s. He is chronically ill and he is NOT coming back to lead and rule as he once did because he will NEVER be the same again.

“Once he dies the northern ruling class have already decided on what to do.They will give Vice President Yemi Osinbajo an ultimatum and they will threaten him and ask him to resign.

“They have resolved that they will not allow power to go to the south and they will encourage their senior officers in the military to effect a coup.

A Barber simply identified as Chinedu, has accidentally killed his baby after a fight erupted between him and his wife on Monday Morning.
This happened at Umuchima Village, in Owerri West Local Government Area.
Umuchima is one of the villages, where off-campus lodges are located in IMO State, especially for students of from Federal University of Technology, Owerri and students of Federal Polytechnic Nekede.
It happened that at that particular morning that there was a minor issue, which escalated to the man bartering his wife.
As this was going on, the woman carried the three months old baby, thinking that at least this will subside his husband’s anger. But the worst came out of that decision as the baby hit his head, while the mum was evading another punch from the husband.
If you take a closer look at the woman’s left arm, you will notice the scars, which was as a result of the beatings she got from her husband.
This prompted the indigenes, to alert the Vigilante Group, who quickly swang into action and arrested the man.
As the man was being questioned, he was shedding tears, after thr result of his actions dawned on him.
He also complained that the woman never bothers to wash his clothes, never says the truth, that she cannot be trusted

A total of 34 ships laden with petroleum products, food items and other goods are expected to arrive Apapa and Tin-Can Island ports in Lagos from May 16 to June 3.

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) stated this in its publication, `Shipping Position’, a copy of which was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Lagos.

NPA said that the ships contained buck wheat, frozen fish, bulk fertiliser, sugar, general cargo,empty containers, petrol and containers laden with goods.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that 11 ships had arrived the ports, waiting to berth with bulk fertiliser, aviation fuel and petrol.

NAN reports that 10 other ships are at the ports discharging empty containers, bulk wheat, frozen fish, ethanol, bulk corn, containers and petrol. (NAN)

Police in Kiambu, Kenya last Sunday arrested a suspected serial rapist Laban Wekesa, believed to be part of a gang that has been posing as women while preying on victims.

The officers from Karuri Police Station in Kiambaa Sub-County also arrested three other suspects who are believed to be Wekesa's accomplices. One of them has already been positively identified by one of the robbery victims.


According to the police, Wekesa has also been engaging in robbery incidents Muchatha and Ruaka areas. Police who were working on a tip off from members of the public recovered stolen electronic goods, gas cylinders and mobile phones at his house in Muchatha.

Area police boss, Wilberforce Scharani, who confirmed the arrest said Wekesa has at least five rape cases that have been reported against him adding that they had unsuccessfully trailed him since January this year.

Mr Scharani said after his arrest, two of his rape victims positively identified him, and have already recorded statements. The police, he said, have a watertight case against the suspect.
"Already, we have five cases which we will file against him in court. Already we have two complainants who have already recorded statement and are expecting the remaining ones to come on board," Mr Scharani said on Monday.
Police said they tracked him using his mobile phone and those of some of his victims. He added that the suspect’s communications had implicated him in the rape cases. The suspect, according to the police, would wear women dresses to ensure his victims do not suspect him or get frightened.
"They would waylay women who were returning home late in the night and with the female dressing, the targets would even comfortably walk alongside them oblivious of their intentions.
"Somewhere along the way, the suspect would draw knives to intimidate and rape them before making away with their money and any other valuables," he said.
The gang is believed to be behind a series of robberies in the area, which Mr Scharani said had reached alarming levels.

Some of the victims have identified their items which included flat screen TV sets, computers, mobile phone, gas cylinders, and decoders, among other household goods.

Former Governor of Niger State, Babangida Aliyu and his former Chief of Staff, Umar Nasko, were today arraigned in a court in Abuja over money laundering allegations. Babangida and Umar are alleged to have diverted N3 billion while they were in office. One of the counts against them reads:

being the former Commissioner for Environment/Chief of Staff to Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu, sometime between April 7, 2015 and December 7, 2015 in Minna within the jurisdiction of this honourable court while being entrusted with dominion over money belonging to Niger State Government dishonestly converted to your own use the sum of N1,090, 000,000, which formed part of the proceeds of the sale of 16 per cent shares of the sale of Niger State in the North South Power Company Limited and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 312 of the Penal Code.”

Minister of Health, Prof Isaac Adewole, has called for heightened vigilance and intensified awareness efforts on symptoms of hemorrhagic fevers following the outbreak of Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

he issued a statement on Saturday in Abuja through Boade Akinola, Director for Media and Public Relations, Ministry of Health following the announcement by the World Health Organization (WHO) on confirmed cases of Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

He said the government had directed health officials stationed at the ports, to step up inspection activities.

He also advised health care providers and members of the public, to report any sign of illness to public health officials. He added that the symptoms to look out for included fever, fatigue, weakness, dizziness and muscle aches. He explained that patients with more severe cases would show bleeding under the skin, internal organs or even from mouth and ears.

The Minister urged Nigerians not to panic as the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) was equipped to secure the health of citizens.

He called on states to begin social mobilization and media awareness efforts, via TV, Radio, Print and Social Media.

Lagos State commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, said on Saturday that the police were on the trail of a family who allegedly raised the false alarm that resulted in the killing of 4 persons in the Ikorodu area of the state.

Owoseni said the family had a brawl with another family over an undisclosed matter, stressing that it raised a false alarm that the victims were members of the notorious Badoo cult.

4 persons, who were branded to be members of the notorious Badoo cult group in Adamo area of Ikorodu, were on Friday lynched by residents. It was, however, later discovered that the slain persons were just land speculators.



3 houses, two vehicles and motorcycles were set ablaze in a reprisal attack by colleagues of the slain persons. An unnamed person was said to have started a building project in the area.

Some land speculators reportedly invaded the building site and demanded for royalty from the owner of the building, who refused and they went away with a threat that they were coming back.

True to their threat, they mobilised and returned on Friday but unknown to them, the owner of the building had also mobilised some youths in the area.

A clash was said to have ensued between the land speculators and the residents, forcing them to flee from the site of the building project. The land speculators were escaping when residents raised the alarm that they were members of the Badoo cult group.

It was also gathered that the residents had lied that the slain land speculators had earlier in the day killed a family of four people.

More residents were mobilised and they reportedly chased the land speculators to where they were caught and beaten to stupor, with four of them eventually dying.

The death of the land speculators sparked instant crisis as hoodlums mobilised themselves and invaded Adamo where three houses were burnt. It took the intervention of policemen before the angry hoodlums were dispersed.

PEACE, i have been dating this girl since January this year. I really like her but there are so many things she does that makes me feel very uncomfortable with her and kills the trust i have for her.
