biafranqueen: Governor Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan's Secondary School that was built in 2012. Billionaire your My guy but you got to show me what Ibori did for your peopleDon't compare Ibori and Uduaghan, its like comparing day and night, Uduaghan will need to work like 10 more times to be compared to Ibori. Since you are asking what Ibori did, I will fill you on some. When Ibori came in in 1999, Delta was on fire, the Ijaws, Itsekiris and Urhobos were on each others throats in warri, everyone was moving out, companies were relocating to PH and lagos out of warri. Ibori leadership style brought relative peace to delta. How did he do it. he created de facto additional local governements in Delta and named them development areas in Warri South, Warri north and Warri south west so each fighting tribes can have a say in their local politics that was bring about all the war. As a comparism, Tinubu tried thesame thing only that Tinubu called his own local governments, you know the result, the FG impounded the allocation for lagos LGAs. Ibori suceeded in bringing peace to his people. To consolidate on that peace he tried to ensure that one tribe does not lord over other tribes in delta. That is why you were able to get James manager as a senator representing Delta south. Normally an ijaw man can not win an Isoko man or an Itsekiri man in a senatorial contest in thesame senatorial district. The Urhobos who produced the governor did not produce any minister under Ibori, he could have nominated his kinsmen as ministers, he didn't. thats why when he was arrested by EFCC, his cell was visited by all tribes from Delta, not just his tribe's men. Talking of infrastructure, I give you example of warri, between 1979 and 1999 not a single Trunk B road was built in warri. The last trunk B road built was Iyara Road built in 79. Several representations were made to the multitudes of governors that ruled over delta region within that time, none saw the need to build roads in the city. Passing through Enerhen junction those days in a car takes excess of 2 hrs, people resorted to taking bikes. Between 1999 and 2007, Warri saw unprecended construction of roads under Ibori, not tiny roads by dualised roads. It was like a miracle. I don't know how you intend to say those who did not build roads for 20 yrs are angels and the one who came and built roads is a devil. On school, Delta state schooling system is designed to have a public primary school within the walking distance of every child. Great design in the sense that it brings school within the reach of every one. But there is one problem, the schools are many, with over 3000 state owned primary schools as at 2000. The neglect of Delta was not limited to roads, prior to Ibori, schools were neglected and delapidated. Ibori could have renovated a few schools and asked the people to give him time to renovate the others, but as early as 2001 all the over 3000 primary schools in delta had been renovated, and being that you have a primary school within walking distance of every child, everyone could see the activity of govt with regards to school in his own community. Moreso the community were involved in choosing how the schools should be renovated, everyone was encourage to search for a school that requires renovation and put forward a bid for the renovation. The contracts were marked up uniformly at 50% so many people had their 1st millions just by renovating schools for the state govt. To those people, Ibori is a saviour. School issue did not stop at the primary school level, delta had only one university at Abraka that offered very limited courses. 3 polythecnics were set up by Ibori in 1 year, maybe you can tell me any gov that has set up and funded 3 polythecnics simultaneously before. The Federal University later establish at Effurun only happened because the leaders of delta under Ibori put their feet down that what they wanted was not PTI affiliated to Uniben but a seperate Federal university. Today delta state have a federal univerisity. The warri stadium is another thing you can use to judge how the governments of Nigeria treated delta state prior to Ibori's tenure. Bendel and by extension delta has always been a sports loving state. When The Warri Stadium collapsed in 1984, no government so the need to rebuild the stadium. Infact they did not even clear the debris of the collapsed stadium. It was those scavenging for wood and metals that carted away all the debris over time as scrap. between 1984 and 1999 was 15 yrs with different governors serving, non rebuilt the stadium. It was Ibori who saw the need to rebuild the stadium and not only that, proceeded to build 5 stadiums across the state because he knew sports is dear to the heart of his people. And there is the cold support for militants that made Niger delta militants a force to be reckoned with. The Niger delta was treated for many decades as an occupied territory, where people from all over the country come to steal their oil wealth without giving anything in return. Imagine not building a single major road in Warri for 20 yrs. Like it or not, whoever plans to leave his region to loot the resources of the delta today will have to worry about the militants. |
See as people just the dey use their own hand put themselves for ban list. Sign what ? |
Billyonaire: Ibori is a good person, but a career fraudster. In politics he was the youngest Godfather of a President. He singlehandedly purchased PDP Ticket for Y'aradua of blessed memory, he was Yaradua's silent Godfather and infact put some ministers on seats of power. With people like you who can see beyond what the media push around to sell their news, there is some hope. We need balanced analysis of situations before coming to a conclusion. Majority of people who have never been to Delta state and never bother to research what Ibori did for the people of his state always call for the killing of Ibori. Ibori brought a lot of govt presence to his people after many years of neglect. No matter what Ibori did, people will remember Ibori for the infrastructure he developed in his state, just as we remember Ambrose Ali for the schools he built across the former Bendel state, even though he cheated Delta by putting the state University in his home town of Ekpoma. |
Gamesmart: You are so concentratedly stttupid.Who cares about the hole you crawled from. People like you who are mentally challenged can not argue intelligently and to cover up for you lack of intelligence resort to insulting those a million times better than you. Go through all your posts and see how you try to cover your foolishness by insulting people. Lowlife slowpoke |
I want to borrow money from someone, I do not intend to pay back, can you draft the agreement for me so that I can collect the money. I suggest you also nominate someone who can loan me the money. I need money badly, I need to by a cruise boat |
The best part of coconut is the "eyes" if you eat it and jump 7 times you will grow very tall ![]() |
Gamesmart: You are so stttupid, you think the best defence for your stupidity is to say "leave our own thief" alone. Its your life that is so messed up. We can count the multitudes of project Ibori did entirely for the benefit of his people, what are your leaders doing for you today. Ibori you call a thief built trunk A roads across delta at 10million per km, today your saintly Fashola is building roads at 1 billion per km, you have not been able to challenge him. A blind man who does not even know he is blind |
pesty100: dis man actually stole so much that he couldnt hide it anymore... When will you people start see that he looted the wealth of your state mercilesslyI too know, if he looted the state mercilessly as you claim, where did the money come from that he used to build the projects people have been trying to drum into your head. I will not be surprised if you have never been to delta state. As usual those of you who live outside delta state know who should be a Saint and who should be a crook without setting foot on the state |
It is good that deltans decided to educate the illiterates this time around. They have been running their mouths, calling Ibori names while their governors are looting them silly. They sing praises of their looting yoruba leaders and fail to see that when it comes to development, Ibori towers high over the drug barons they are worshipping |
How we treat the poor says a lot about us. Hoarding the poor like cattle in a truck is not the way to go. Just a little help can do a lot to lighten the burden of these poor people. What is wrong if fashola give these poor each like 100k to start a petty trade to help themselves. Helping 70 of them like that will only cost 7million and thats nothing. Trampling on the down throdden should be discouraged by sane people. 1st it was okada riders, today it's the poor on the streets, tomorrow it might be hawkers or petty traders. The poor are always a part of a city, you can't escape it, trampling on them because they are poor and voiceless does not make us civil. |
Gamesmart: If Nigeria was a sane country, locals would have openly or secretly pour kerosene on that billboard and set it alight. No sane man will destroy that bill board where it is installed. People like who know nothing think you know something. Sit down let me educate you a little. That community where the billboard is now installed has 1 secondary health centre in form of state owned general hospital and 1 tertiary health centre in form the state owned university teaching hospital. They have a state owned polythechnic and a private university. They have hundreds of km or tarred roads with solar powered street lights. They also have a stadium and the nigerian navy has a tactical data center there. All these are courtesy of 1 man, you guessed right, IBORI. So once again, no sane man from that community can destroy that bill board. |
PDPwayoo: May God deliver u from ignorance and mystery. I wonder why u chose NL as an avenue to display your foolishness. You are the one living in misery here. If you need something to get you off your misery, just ask. Mumu, the time you should have spent learning how to spell, you spent insulting people |
kevins ndeobi: BUT DO YOU KNOW THAT THIS MAN POSITIVELY AFFECTED THE LIFE OF MANY PEOPLE ?I met a young man sometime ago working with one of the international oil companies in PH. On discussion, I found out the guy graduated from the Delta state poly Oghara. Immediately I could see the impact of Ibori on the guys life. People from the guy's locality do not easily go the tertiary schools previously, they are more into timber business, having a tertiary school nearby encouraged him to to get a degree. How is anyone going to convince that young man that Ibori is a devil? when a school Ibori built from scratch afforded him the opportunity to get higher education and a good paying job. |
Is Rochas joining APC as: an individual merging partner? As an individual or as APGA? INEC did not recognise APGA as a merging party in the APC contraction. That leaves 2 options Rochas is joining APC either as an individual merging partner or simply as an individual. Individuals can not merge with a party, only parties merge. So Rochas is simply joining APC as an individual. In essence, Rochas has decamped from his party and joined APC. He opens himself to several legal and political challenges, can a sitting governor of an existing party, change his party and remain governor with the mandate he got in his previous party? And why did it take APGA this long to suspend him and clarify that they are not part of the merger? |
At times I sit back and count the number of people of delta origin that had to change their states of Origin to other states back in those days just to be a ble to secure admission. With no federal university and only one state university offering very limited number of courses, Delta children were at the mercy of other states to get admission. We endured discrimination in admissions. Ibori govt littered the state with tertiary institutions. Today a child growing up in delta state has several options of tertiary institutions to attend. Look at the Warri stadium that collapsed in 1984, No one deemed it fit to rebuild it for 16 yrs. It took a "thief" to realise that the stadium has to be rebuilt and he proceeded to build 5 stadiums across the state. Just let us celebrate Ibori, When yoruba people agree that Tinubu is a common thief and drug pusher then we can start calling Ibori a thief. |
Happy Bithday to Ibori. Believe it or not, Ibori remains the best governor Delta state has had since her creation in 1991. Love him or hate him, you can't take that away from him. But, why do people from other states hate Ibori so much. He was governor of Delta state, not that of your state, so give chance to delta indegenes to celebrate their best governor. You can go and kill your thieving governors instead of coming here to cry over other people's governor. Tell your governors to work, when they leave office, no matter the travails they pass through, people will remeber their efforts and actions and celebrate them, just as we are doing to Ibori today. Ibori stepped on GEJ toes, and he was crushed by federal might and international conspiracy, simple. There are bigger thieves in Nigeria walking free compared to Ibori. Once again Happy Birthday to Ibori, The odidigborigbo of Africa |
mgbeketoto: It is out turn. . .TIME TO MOVE BACK TO NIGERIA.you are very correct. Its anioma's turn to chop urhobo and Itsekiri oil money. funny enough, that's the real reason why the gladiators want public office, to chop the state's money. If we get a good candidate from anywhere, lets support him, supporting someone from your LG to chop is no guaranty that the chopping will impact positively on you. |
Tam David West is distorting facts to fool people. If buhari is so clean why did he avoid the oputa truth and reconciliation panel. It was clearly documented how buhari shortchanged several regions of nigeria while at the helm of affairs at ptf. Spending 80% of ptf fund on his northwest region at the detriment of other zones is nepotism at its peak. And nepotism is a form of corruption. Am sure tam david west will be among the first to scream blue murder if gej decides to spend 80% of the federal budget on bayelsa state. But that same action done by buhari is not condenmed by tam david west because he wants to be on some people's good books |
If you want to live in peace in this mad world, someone has to watch the neigbourhood. Some will call that spying on the citizens. In Nigeria there is minimal spying and others see that as evidence to bomb us at will. |
Where is the source of the news that said the case has been thrown out. The link you providedonly state that he has been charged to court. Any way how does throwing out the case bring justice to the man he battered with a mace. Or justice to you is for an accused to walk free and the victim suffer in vain or the victim should resort to self help |
ochejoseph: Steering the ship of state could be a Herculean task a look at two pictures of the president Goodluck Jonathan one taken just last week at the Abati's Residence and the other in 2011 shows the president is ''Olding '' quite fast .......You are comparing 2011 and 2013 pictures, do you know what it takes to lead a nation full of people like you. Even a baby will age in that position |
OP, this is very repulsive to say the least. With 170million people in the country, you mean you can not find someone saner than the terrorist and regional leader to foist on us? |
You did not ask for permission from the president, and the president did not call you to step down. So how did the name of the president come into all this all along? Is it that you brought up the name of the president just to make people believe that the president is after you? Anyway, since you don't need anyones permission to run, why do you want Wike to have your permission before running for gov or Senate? |
Omen100: Better self & as things stand's now. I said, nobody, person's or group of person's can near Gov. Amaechi with any form or forms of treat because Gov. Amaechi has just won all of them put together, including the "HIPPOS"did you read the part of the report that state " In its findings, the committee observed that “The crisis in the assembly on July 9, 2013 was the expression of deep-rooted political crisis occasioned by the alleged highhandedness of Governor Amaechi and the perceived undue interference with the political and security structure of the state by the President, his wife and the national leadership of the PDP.” Amaechi has a hand in the problems of the state due to his highhandedness. Or you don't understand the statement. The Gov of a state is not elected to lord over others, he his expected to serve the people and listen to them and reason with them. Not dish out orders that must be carried out, like saying peoples acestral homes MUST be demolished. |
Immunity removal DOA. Do we really want a president every Haruna, Okoro and Shola will be dragging to court daily? I support removal of immunity for criminal proceedings not total immunity removal. |
We want another court for ogun worshippers, Abasimor worshippers, those that sleep and swear at Okija shrine, even those that worship mamiwater and papiwater need their seperate court, its their constitutional right. Since the moslems think they are very smart to ask for special courts to authorise amputation of limbs, stoning and flogging of people, we want a court that will authorise killing of twins, animal and human sacrifices to cleans the land and banishment of people to evil forests ![]() |
The pastor only wanted to bless the house, the bed and the woman. Why are they harassing a man of god. |
How are you so sure he is under some evil influence? Was he also under your evil influence previously and you are now conversant with the signs? As for advice, keep your advice to yourself, the guy will not believe you. You can't be thousands of miles away and claim to know the guy's business partner more than the man dealing with her daily |
greatgod2012: unfortunately, they wont do both...........the northerners would neither develop the northern areas and neither would they hand-off the leadership position of the country. They believe they are born to rule, even when their IQ is obviously very low. Then it is the responsibility of all Nigerians to be drumming it it their deaf ears, that charity begins at home. They should lead their people on the path of development before aspiring to lead others |
The 96km warri Benin road took 17 yrs to complete. The 200km ph warri road was awarded in 2006, 7 yrs after, the road is not yet completed. Hope GEJ will use the death of his in-law on the road to stop the criminal negligence of protects in the Niger delta. |
Charity begins at home. If the northerners can bring development to the North then and only thenwill it be fair for them to try to bring development to others. With the dismal development statistics from the North, they should hands off the nations leadership and put their region in the path of development before aspiring to lead others |
Lord this my prayer. There is a man who wants to be governor of delta state in 2015, lord do not let it come to pass The man is the minister of Niger Delta ministry. His name is Orubebe, Lord in your infinite wisdom do not let this man come close to the govt house at Asaba in 2015, otherwise delta will be finished. The only major road project under his ministry is the east west road, that project has been moving at snail speed. If Orubebe had completed the road, our president's in-law would not have died of accident travelling between ph and bayelsa. Lord all our previous governors are either working crooks like Ibori, or non working saints like Ibru. We have never had non working crooks as governors. Orubebe has all the penchant of a non working crook. Give the president and 1st lady the wisdom to understand that this tragedy was directly caused by the ineptitude of his ministers of works and that of the Niger Delta. Lord this we pray through our saviour. Amen |
