How much did you get the Intl flight and to where again? I saw 292k Qatar Airways to D.C gaviria: Good evening all, Please I want to ask a question, I want to book a ticket online using flight network. But I had booked the ticket and used my GT card to initiate payment before I remembered that GTBank doesn't allow more than $100 transaction daily. They deducted the service fee for the agency tho. But couldn't deduct the rest since it was over the transaction limit. I'm booking my connecting flight. I have booked the international flight using an agency but the price I was given for the connecting was way more than what I saw online. Hence, why I decided to do it myself. Please is there a way for me to make that payment or is there another bank card I can use to do the transaction. Or how can I book it anyhow. The transaction is about $170 in total. Thanks. |

Sorry you had to go through the stress. It's okay you mentioned this at least people will get to hear. Someone might take up the case, so other students are not affected (if they havent changed what they used then). It will be totally unfair for me not to speak up in your favour in the midst of backlash when I had similar case. So they can take back their words and learn to give people the benefit of doubt. They haven't seen it all I just saw your new cgpa. First class Congrats!!!! adey2014: God bless u. i did then and i went with my uncle in 2009 and i was assured it was going to be rectified my cpga dropped to 2.38/5.0 and that it will reflect in the convocation of 2008/2009 which will be done in jan 2010. i went for service just for me to call my friend to check the convocation list which bought out my name but no rectification was done. if only two of the four courses . che 101 (4 units) and che 102 (2 units) which i didnt register for or even sat for cause İ was direct entry was removed then i wud av entered 2.40. i still went back after my service and applied for pgd in education. i was not admitted and by that time, the dean of education (prof busari) who knew my case had died and by 2011 after going up and down. the new hod for science and tech edu siad she had never had of my case. i gave up at that point and thank God for my parents encouraged me to do another undergraduate. it was not as if i didnt fight. i just chased a better dream and thank God it turned out well. its just a pity people who dont know anything about unilag all come out here talking. the days of ibidapo obe when course form was by paper and results were in broadsheets. |

If I had this kind of issue, I for no gree. The press and other agencies will get involved. Huh? No C in your result plus best graduating student being taken from you....I wee not keep kwayet ooo. Its really sad how things are trivialised in this country. I was told shebi I am already on 2.1 that I am fine like that. I didn't know so many other students were involved, we for carry placard and march till Unilag gives us our right cgpa I.T money, person dey chop that one. 15k, wonder if anyone got their pay. I remember the day they called us to come and put down our account details, see rushing and excitement, we waitied for ages...no alert. We moved on. neahyo: Bro, I empathize with you and I know how it feels. In my final year in the University, a course i had a B was turned to a C. How do i know i had a B you may ask? The course was a 300 level course and the result was on my portal and i printed it out. With this printed copy i had an evidence which i use to complain to the department severally. To cut the long story short, guess what i was told? I was told i already had a first class degree why should i still bother over a grade that was changed and it makes little difference in my CGPA. Moreover, from my transcript i never had a C, so at least it shows the department is very strict with marks. Do you know the difference of 0.01 costs me from being the Best Graduating student in the school? The Best graduating student's CGPA was higher than mine with 0.01.
This is just to give an insight on what is happening in our institutions. All said, i was asked to do my MSc in that same school, me? Only if they know the resentment i hold against them.
Bro, never give up, you don't have to prove anything to anyone and with God by your side your best is yet to come.
Grades alone cannot define your future but Grace can. Do your best, this American Dream must be achieved.
Sorry for the long epistle, I've never said all these to anyone. |

You dont need to prove anything to anyone, as long as you are sure of what you are saying. Leave people who are quick to rain abuse on others for nothing, forgetting they need to err on the side of caution when they are in doubt. I am still asking, why did you accept something you know will hinder your academic plans Did your parents/guardian not contest this? adey2014: instead of coming here to use abusive words. y not contact me personally to confirm and then come back to tell the whole world am lying instead of coming here to just prove what is wrong. may i ask when did u graduate from unilag and i am begging u to pls send a personal mail so i can show u this cos am really shocked at ur level of reasoning. anyways i dont need u to tell me what words to tell myself cos u dont even know what led to me saying those words. i wont comment on this again cos we are ignoring the main reason for this thread. thank u for ur comment and best of luck in the future. |

The funny thing is the cgpa was accurate from year 1 till final year first semester. Then after our second semester final exam results came out, the cgpa pasted was diff. So we confronted them, "Sir see the cgpa as of first semester year 4, add the second semester results and you will get this not that". They all agreed. Osinachi1: Joining you soon in faith
I am rounding up my Second year of studying Biochemistry.
I have read about people complaining about Results computation errors.
In my first year, I had a missing script. I reported, wrote letter, followed up... Sent messages, result didn't show.
I went to Admin and requested for my First year transcript ( paid N1,150). Lo, in the transcript, None of my score was missing. I said Okay o.
What I will do is, after every session, I will go and request for Transcript to make sure no error is made from the Result pasted by the department.
Everybody is vexing in this country these days, they can use vex and Scatter somebody's result.
And, some people don't like checking results when they are pasted, Ahh... Please Whenever your results are released, Copy and Keep Safe. If you have any problems with the scores, report immediately. |

I didnt want to go about telling people, whether unilag image is affected or not, but hey I know something happened, although the poster's story is very different from what we experienced in our dept then. I still love unilag and they are owing me 0.04 points I even went there this year about the matter but nothing. I'm sure they will be saying after 7 years, this student no wan gree. My good friend dropped from 2.1 to 2.2. Was a small margin and it took it down to less than 3.5. She wasn't the only one. We all tabled our cases and she told me hers was corrected. I was happy for her, imagine carying a 2.2 because of some miscalculations. And no, they didnt dash them marks, the manual calculation showed the true cgpa. I guess they took their own seriously because of the impact. I had a diff of 0.04 less my cgpa and I am not very okay with it. So poster, why didnt your HOD assist resolve yours? Did you say your lecturer introduced that software? Because that's not what I heard. gaviria: They changed 2:2 to third class for you Mistakes like that can only come from CITS and it can't be that bad or else it'll affect the whole department in which case it'll be resolved. So accept your Grade and don't blame Software sir. |

My own grades were not changed. The prob was the summation. I didnt know anyone with this kind of issue. How can you let them put an F when you got a C or record new courses for you? Were you the only one in your dept affected? What did your HOD say? I am asking because what you stated below is a major case which should be looked into with immediate effect. This is not a witch matter, major cases call for drastic actions. So were you the only one affected? Why did you stop disturbing them? adey2014: maybe because God wanted a better life for me. i did direct entry to enter the program. chemistry education unilag and in my final year. my then departmental hod (dr busari may her soul rip) introduced a software for results calculation and as unlucky as i cud get. thw software operator went to record year 1 courses which i didnt do for me and put E along with a year four course which i did and scored C then recorded as F. u cud say my hometown witches followed me well. lolx but thank God cos everything in life has a reason for happening |

Hello. I remember there was a problem with cgpa calculation. I finished 2010 and my cgpa was lower than when I calculated myself, same with some other students. We reported and they said they will work on them. I remember someone saying it's the software used at that time. Well mine wasn't changed, I think some people who were very negatively affected were resolved. I got tired of going there, complaining and writing to HOD and CITS. It didnt affect my grade, I was still on 2.1. The diff was small sha but I felt I should have my EXACT cgpa and not less by 0.01 or more. People please do not be quick to call someone a liar. That you haven't heard a case before doesn't mean it couldnt have happened. Do you know everything? How can you tell whether something is possible or not. The best is to ask/ probe further and see if your doubt will be cleared. adey2014: why i like people like you is that u always think people are lying when u havent heard of such a case before, well i graduated in 2008. chemistry education. you dont know me and i had no reason to put up the story. i only did when someone made mention of why someone had to do a second undergraduate. well i did a second undergraduate. did exceptionally well and still doin fine till today. but saying i sud accept my grades and not blame the dept. i wont take that from u. if u feel am lying. contact me personally and İ will show u my transcript and u will have to come to the thread and apoligize cos u clearly said words u knew nothing about |

I dey tell you!!! That sevis alone ehhh..both far and wide go there to study. Those people are on the gaining side, they know. Which is actually a good thing for a country, they have built their country so they should enjoy the gains. But 400/$ higher than normal rate.. lie lie. If we accept this 400, those cabals will move it higher again. That is how it starts. Na today? LagosismyHome: Imagine the money made in SEVIS $200 alone.... that is enough self so lets not talk of $160....$ 360 na kwa compared to $210 |
Travel › Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 11 by OGreene: 8:32am On May 09, 2017*. Modified: 4:28pm On May 10, 2017 |
I don't get how people defend this 400/$ because the fee is $160. So tomorrow they should tell us the exchange rate is now 1000/$ because we are paying lesser amount of $160, that time you people will sit up. If the embassy sets it at $160, they have their reason and I bet you they are still gaining. Other countries that is getting it at $160, is the exchange rate higher than normal rate? Even you can't compare the number of people who pay US visa fees (visiting, Sevis, settlement etc). The difference covers up the fee margin and more. (My opinion). We want normal or lesser exchange rate abeg. US doesn't have fx issues like us. Their currency is stronger. From 197 to 360 in 2 years, but theirs is stable. We have had it hard enough. NB: If you give me something at a cheaper price and use style to collect more, you are no longer being fair to me. I will still feel cheated. Yea I know its the officials and Banks setting the rate, why are you guys supporting a higher rate? The rate of naira depreciation is appalling and embarrassing and its sad to see people giving excuse for 400 to a dollar. LagosismyHome: My dear it is not take it or leave it .... The US Embassy is not doing anyone a favour. The benefit is mutual, they gain a lot in tourism, students been there, skills and man power. Same way my employer is not doing me a favour. We are both benefiting as my skill set is needed on the project. Nigeria has a lot of foreigners as well.
No Country is an island ,UK will soon find out hard with brexit. Nursing applications is down , house prices now on a free fall. ...let them continue , na them go dey beg people to come. Watch this space..... same way with Thrump gra gra, their tourism industry go hear am....Tourism helps their economy |
Travel › Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 11 by OGreene: 8:31am On May 08, 2017 |
The banks set the rate...I thought as much @bolded, none is close to this 400. We have an idea of the rates, that's why we are against 400. VisaOfficer: A couple points about the visa fee charged and the exchange rates used:
1) All U.S. missions (all Embassies and Consulates around the world) use reciprocity when charging visa fees. It is a negotiated fee between the two governments. This fee is almost always the same fee that is charged to U.S. citizens who wish to get a visa to that country. In rare cases, such as with Nigeria, the fees differ. With regard to Nigeria, the United States charges less for a U.S. visa ($160) than the Nigerian government charges U.S. citizens ($210).
2) We are required to use a bank rate that is contracted to us. If you look at the "official" rates used by other banks, you will get an idea of what the exchange rate is. We do not set the rate charged to you. That is set by Nigerian officials and Nigerian banking institutions.
Regards, VO |

Supported!!! We can even come together and use the power of social media. We have the number (population). Posting on fb and tweeting Another thing, is it GTB or the Embassy that sets the rate? How does it work sef? LagosismyHome: Visa fee is $160 ..... so at 54000k they were using 337.50 which is still high compared to official rate
Now US embassy is using 400 naira times $160 making it 64,000 naira .
Does anyone know how they make formal complain in Nigeria......i definitely want to join the complain.... This is not right and i think bloggers and others should complain so that they can review and use official rate |

Visa fee of $340 (160 + 180) @400 will be N136k. Thats an extra N3,400 compared to 390/$ black market rate. What is the justification 390 is already painful enough. By the way, what rate were they using before? |
