Do not give up! Sorry about the delays. Can you talk with the Illinois Institute guys, to make provision for you? Do you think you want to go through the MSc route for Western Michigan? Do you think you can try again Spring/Fall 2018? Just look at the options you have and decide what next to do. Your cgpa is good. If you are reapplying, re-write GRE and choose more schools. I always encourage PhD applicants to apply to many schools, minimum of 6 sef, because that 100% funding is crucial. aanexplus: This is very annoying. I don't know what to type. 2 turn down in a day.
Stat - 0/3
Illinois Institute of Technology - no funding Notre dame- declined Western Michigan - academic background too low for PhD. I can apply for msc. Of which a prof told me to apply for PhD. It's not funny
All this happened on my bday (5/5)
Shame!!!! |

Good morning pals.
To all admitted students without funding, keep pushing. Call them, write the director or any other staff you feel like reaching out to. Pray about it too, you will get positive results. I did. |

Take the BRT to CMS. From CMS enter Lekki bus and tell them to stop you at Kofo or just say Walter Carrington. They already know you are going to the Embassy. Jesusbabygirl: Pls house, how can i get to d embassy in Lagos by bus from Oshodi?. Thanks |

It depends. The thing is to check all of them and see which is cheaper at the time you are booking. Last week, I saw a cheaper deal on wakanow compared to travelstart, same flight and date. And I always believed travelstart was cheaper, but nah, not all the time seeker88: Hey guys!
For those who are already booking their flight, you could check this site out: www.travelden.com, their rates seem far better than those from wakanow. Also, travelstart.com seems cheaper than wakanow...

No. Washington DC. I forgot to be specific. log1: I thought you wanted to land at New York, Chicago or Washington DC. Since you are going to Washington, that's amount is fair. But if you really want to cut cost, land at JFK and take a greyhound bus but it will take you 2days to arrive your destination. |

I wonder how much it should be. Thats why I came here to ask, knowing people might have booked flight recently. I saw a cheaper one for 326k. Maybe its because of my travel date - July ending. tolajay: That's quite much. You can use that money to secure a plot of land in Ambode's village.
Do more research. |

You can ask the school if you can upload unofficial copy, that is the doc from school you have with you. I did that in my case. Ask! aamstih: Hi, If the schools one is applying only states 'official transcripts' and no mention of WES, hope this means transcript sent by one's alma mater and not a transcript evaluated by WES. |

Yes. The school wants me to enrol for the Econs courses and complete them before the fall session starts (same as yours?) I dont know if conditional admission affects visas, in my opinion it wouldn't. You can ask the International Student office if you are eligible to apply for visa before completion of the foundation courses. And if they have International students who got their visas even with conditional admission, you should be fine. PS: I haven't applied for visa yet, I haven't decided which school. Awesu122: ... moreover does conditional admission guarantees VISA? Or let me put it this way does VOs give visa to students with conditional admission ? Did you have same conditional admission? Because you talked about foundation classes as well |

I remember someone mentioned that there is a portion of the visa application that asks if you have falsified info/doc i.e. misrepresentation before. @DimmyCho, did you answer yes to this ques and you clarified what went down? And then you might need to contact the embassy to find out if you have been banned (for 10 years). Just saying.
I would recommend you visit the USA Visit thread, more info there partaining to visit visas |

[quote I applied to another school in Kentucky and my admission. Was granted yesterday waiting for my i20 to be shipped all necessary fee settled, here is my question ? On that admission letter I was told I have been accepted for masters in business administration but as a post baccalaureate student, and that I have to do foundation courses ? Please what does that word means Thanks
The school should have outlined the guidelines in your admission letter or follow up emails. They didn't? Then it's best to ask them which courses and where you can take them. In my case, they explained everything to me with deadlines |

Am always wary of agents. So did this agent fill something you know is false? I'm sure you read through the application before it was submitted. Because if there is a contrasting info in your first and subsequent applications, then its not a good situation at all. DimmyCho: Thanks for your response,i was the guy who sent you PM. For the rejection, it was based on visiting and I was giving the 214(b) blue paper. The first was through and agent(2012) before I entered Uni. While the last two was to attend my brother's wedding. I have a diploma in performing and media arts from Pefti and a Bachelor's of Art in Theatre and Media Arts. Did my internships at NTA, Ait and other private film companies. Im workongbas a production manager since Oct later years after my grad. New York film academy is one of the best film schools in US where pple like Stephnie Okereke, Jungle Afolayan, bank w, Dr. Sid , producer of Ije and Kemi Adetiba ( Director or Wedding Party, all studied .Seeing these people's works, i fell on love with the schools that's why I wish to do my Masters there. Just want to do it right that's why I came to make enquiries. You're appreciated |

Ok. I will ask her about her contact detail. I also suggested she contacts the hosp to be sure the problem is not from there. She said they did and the hosp wants to give them a letter to take to the embassy, that there is no issue customised87: The denial may have something to do with the person she intends staying with in the US. Maybe he/she has a bad history with them. IMO |

And I know people who made the mistake of applying for tourist visa instead of tellling the VOs its solely for child birth, they were denied. But when they reapplied the second time for child birth purpose, they all got their visas. |

Good morning house. I am so new on this thread. I would love to hear your opinions regarding my friend's case (seriously not me ) She applied for tourist visa with her hubby, she is visibly pregnant at this time, during the visa interview she was asked if she is preg, she told them yes. They were denied visa. She reapplied, this time she plainly stated its for the purpose of child birth, the VOs took their passports and hosp docs and told them to come back a week later. My friend picked up the passports but to her shock, still denial. Please what could have happened? Am confused. She has travelled with her hubby before (not USA), they are employed in good organisations so money is not the issue. She intended staying with someone in the US. |

How many more left? tuffpuff: Update! Got a second decision and second rejection! This time from University of Rochester I sent them an email, requesting to know the part(s) of my application that wasn't competitive enough to secure me an offer. Their reply was that the decision does not necessarily reflect a significant shortcoming in my application. They had over 100 applications for only 5 slots!
It is well is all I can say right now. But its hurting at the same time |
