AbujaNIV, the yellow paper states the review will take 2 weeks. Yet someone has been waiting for more than 2 weeks. And the response he got was that the visa officer hasnt looked at it.
Resumption is very close. I am surprised he hasnt gotten any feedback/update. His interview was July 21st. Does Abuja take this long? Na wa ooo |

Why the red font na? sayilousnwa: [color=#990000]Noted LagosNIV, Well besides the reason I gave initially, I think I made mention of, they have an attractive course curriculum which best suits my profession. in addendum to that, there are some courses I discovered that are super interesting and I have this enthusiasm to learn them, eg. Management organisation and leadership, Technology and Computer Innovation, which would help me after my studies. From my research, I would have access to their well equipped Electronic Library which is updated every session with affordable electronic textbooks, for some students like me who would rather opt for books than food |

The bolded is not correct. This is what I got from the school's site, italicized below. So they never said get 85% or you are out. At least three out of four criteria, of which we know there are outliers who didn't get as much. Even the 80% stated translates to V158Q160 (318) which many people can get. There are no specific minimums for the GRE or GPA, however, the successful applicants are those students who are strong in at least 3 out of the 4 areas below:
GPA of 3.7 or above on a 4.0 scale GRE scores in the 80th-90th percentile in the verbal and quantitative sections Letters of recommendation Statement of Purpose (SOP) and Personal Statement (PS)
DreManuel: We are speaking from our limited experiences that are not hard and fast. But could you clarify what course/ program the person that got into UC Berkeley with 307/309 is doing and if they got full-funding? And what year they got in, and what their GRE score breakdown is, and overall academic profile? That can help people here make informed decision and not run the risk of making hasty generalization.
And before someone understates the importance of GRE, they might dig more into their program/schools of choice. I applied to University of Michigan and on their site for Mech Engr., it was stated that GRE scores of min 85 percentile in Verbal and Quant is required with a CGPA of 3.7/4.0. So anyone who doesn't meet the initial criteria won't likely have a chance talkless of funding. Well, that's for Mech engr @UMich, i can't say for other schools.
In a nutshell, in this age of overwhelming complexity, accelerated change and tremendous competition, I would have no weak link in my profile, such as my GRE score, when I can do something about it. When the push comes to shove, every aspect of admission req is essential and you can't predict which would undermine you in the face of your competition. |

If you get admitted to Ashland, would you opt for that? Okesima24: @Fenix, thank you for your suggestion. Could be true. But 3 of my friends got admission to that same school. 2 of them towards end of last year and one who we work in the same office got his in that same Abuja in April and is now in US. The other two got theirs in Lagos embassy. So I really don't know. But I will consider your suggestion to relax for now and perhaps pick other schools. Thank you all. |

If Morgan state gave him some funding, he should state that as part of the reason or just find out key things about Morgan state's nursing program. Pockets are not the same and people travel for diff purposes, some have their spouse working abroad or have a business meeting or for healthcare... and so must travel Again, the cost of travelling is peanut to some folks. They go to those countries to relax in a calm environment unlike here, to them the benefit is higher. Some dont pay even for the travel, they are sponsored. Another example: When the dollar margin was high, people made money just by travelling. I mean money!!! So when they are a bit broke; they plan to travel. Or they dont get to spend a dime from their pocket when they travel. It was at a point I understand, I kept wondering how they could afford multiple trips a year. Some people have the information the rest dont have. Information is power Many other reasons sha... Time2Smile: Congratulations. Please can someone enligten me, what is all the fuss about B1/B2 visa? Work on "why you chose bgsu". Read past transcripts and learn the key points. Please dont use that line again Are you really going to do research? After high school, you joined the govt's football club in 2014 where you... Then if you did any work there or taught exercise sessions or did some courses related to sports and science, state them. You said you prepared towards bgsu requirements, you can include them. Then they might ask why you didn't choose to go for undergrad immediately after high school, have answers to this. teebriz45: Was denied visa today for the second time this month at Lagos CG. Please help me review my transcripts.
Vo- Tell me where you are going to in US?
Me- Bowling Green state university in ohio for my bachelor's degree Exercise Science.
Vo- Why bgsu?
Me- they have low students ratio majoring in exercise science. (VO CUTS IN) |
