earthrealm:Oh okay cool, I have learnt a new thing. However..your 2kw array can only do 60amps @24v. Since ur CC is 60amps, so you shud be fine.Actually my CC is 80amps but yes I have a array limitation for now. @ gassing yes again.gassing is minimal during normal charging,, unless if you set ur charging voltage setpoints rather high, then u will perceive acid vapours more often..Interesting indeed. Thanks |
earthrealm:Yes you are correct 4x150Ah 12v = 300ah 24v. The battery has max charge written on it to be 45ah so I was using that to determine the limit for the string. However from your message it seem I should double it so my charge limit will then be 90ah correct? the gassing you talk about occur more during equalization, which is every 1, 2, 3months..as you desire, i do mine every month, u can simply open the windows, and place a standing fan to blow the fumes away, for the 4 to 8 hrs, you may choose to do the equalizationIt means it does occur during normal operations? The house is relatively small and have got kids but will look into that option in future though.

Folks am trying to make a choice on air-condition to use on my inverter system, between GenCool and GenPal which one of them is more energy efficient? Anyone with usage experience? |
Hondajosh:How much o Bros |
Hello, Please how much is a 2008 Civic windscreen? |
Amypriti:I hear Civic is a better choice in terms of maintenance and durability |
earthrealm:It only shows realtime Hervest, it does not log it historically. What it logs is kwh for daily, week, year and since purchase. I guess u r using cheap panels as well, cos am beginning to see their output maxes out at 80 to 85%,. Ie 850w max from a 1kw array etc.My battery charge current has a maximum of 45amps so I had to limit the controller to 40amps which is around 1.2kw, I only get to see more Hervest if I load it up intentionally but even at that I don't get beyond the range you've indicated. Wonder if that means my panel is too cheap ![]() I would try canadian panels on my next setup.I will be curious to hear how well it performs, am not sure it will give so much more to justify the cost. Personally I think my panels are doing fine for now. When I was on 1.5kw, there was a day I got 8.2 amps generation from a panel with 8.3a ratings And flooded batts, if i dont hv enough funds for lipo4.I had considered this when I was about to procure my AGM batteries but some literature suggests that one should not put it in the household due to its occasional gassing.

earthrealm:From the previous graph I shared, I did 1.3kw today but I have seen 1.5+kw around 1pm before when I ramped it up with load because my battery is normally full by noon. What does instantaneous mean? as I don't have that on my CC. Perhaps if I know what it means, then I could find out on the CC or on my graph log. |
mammanbawa:It could be engine oil that is due for change of you believe that is not the case then you can simply reset the maintenance required countdown. It shows that when you drive 4 to 5k miles |
AyarmBoye:2kw panel and 300ah battery with 24v setup |
Busy and quit sunny day today, happy to see my harvest thus far, only wish i had more batteries ![]()

radautoworks:Hmm.... Not possible for one of your boys to visit the location in Lagos? Ride just pushed outside p around port area |
HeavenlyBang:C230K. Thanks |
Does anyone have an idea of the cost of c230 engine? |
Eddee:Cooling system is obviously bad as radiator was leaking when vehicle arrived. There will be need to change the radiator as well. Looking forward to timely response of those 2 monica Thanks |
Good morning, a friend bought Benz 230 at copart on getting here it's found to have a burnt head gasket (water in radiator was gushing out). Please how easy is it to fix? Is there any good mechanic in Lagos that can help with this? https://www.copart.com/lot/49755999 |
mcTrinity:I did in the reference post earlier am re-attaching again though. earthrealm:Noted with thanks ceaser:Thanks for the comment

ojeysky:Please am still hoping someone will advice me on this. I really need to know if 28.2 is appropriate for bulk or whether I should adjust to about 28.8 since that is the info on the battery says but I like to hear from experienced folks here. Do you guys run your battery at such a high bulk level? |
2 more Panels added to make 2kw, with 4 new 150Ah batteries, now I can say I am utilising my GK series inverter. Generating over 1kw in the morning. Quick question though, what would be idle float and bulk voltage for attached battery spec? I currently have 27.2 and 28.4 respectively, is that sufficient or should I up it further?
|
Magic1:I hope you've figured that is incorrect |
dicksonadams:Yup, when I learnt that I just went for the chinco shocks for my HL. It's serving for now |
Toyyinni:How about Pagna PGA0919? |
earthrealm:I don't think MPP allows shipment of the package via local post. It will be good if they do that as it will save a lot from the shipping cost |
paito:Your question is not clear but I will try to decode; it seem you are wondering if indeed the inverter can work without battery? The simple answer is Yes I have the 3kva GK series, so long as you can get your Voc above 230v it will work. I have not tried it myself because my panels are not at 230v yet but I know someone on NL with 5kva version who has tried and confirmed the batteryless option works. |
gameboy55:Kai Bros why you go that far na.....Kai! I hope you returned back to the previous brain box though. I had cylinder 2 misfire on my HL when it came in toks, swapped coils, plugs and injector to confirm that all those are fine. The valve was the culprit, so engine had to be opened to change the valve for cylinder 2. I am not a guru but am close to believe that is the issue you have as well. |
OgogoroFreak:Can the OP answer this |
earthrealm:Yes indeed that's correct, I know the fanguspan does daily logs and I wish my GK does that. I will be doing an external logging with my Pi3 or lemme break it down. i install a 1hp pump with a 2kw array,....if the surge rating issue is factored in..it implies i have to install upto a 6kw/8kw arraw, b4 the pump would be able to startI get your point, I must note that am not a guru in this stuff like folks like you but I read somewhere in the manual where it was indicated that my 3kw could surge up to 6kw. Now I don't know if that also puts the panel wattage Hervest into consideration. |
earthrealm:It does store cumulative for day, month and year. It does not for instance give the Hervest for yesterday. another question,,, in battery less mode, what happens if you connect it to a a load bigger than the solar harvest?I have not tried the batteryless feature before since I have battery and since am still using 6 250w panels and have not yet gotten to 230Voc. However I sure expect that it will trip off if it receives more load than it generates, that's pretty straightforward. |
dataking:One more con of GK is that due to its high Voc (which is a Pro) it means you need to wire lots of panel in series and that means that all the panels must clear sight on sunshine. So you may factor that in, because if one of the panels does not Hervest good sunshine it will affect all the strings. All the best as you make your choice |
hancock:I believe it should do this because the option is there on the settings, but I have not gotten to test that out since we've not had grid supply in my area since I bought the inverter (which is over 6 months now) ![]() |
dataking:You can check their documentation at their website below. A few differences: GK: Batteryless, and high Voc, 3KVA has 80amps charge controller, support 4000W panel MK: Parallel support, zero switching delay, low VOC, 3kva has 60amps charge controller, support 1500w panel https://www.mppsolar.com/v3/pip-mk-series/ Regards |
dataking:Why not go for the newer model; the GK or MK series |
