Going through all the comments on this thread, it's clear that economic poverty isn't the only affliction affecting us but one of common sense and bigotry. To imagine that there was only one comment prior that was preaching tolerance makes me realize that we the followers are our own problems.

One thing you can be certain about is that VP Osinbajo would not be involved in any form of illegality whatsoever. Even though they are on a joint ticket I would think that everyone would fully grasp the concept of Separation of powers and even when not in the know, a cursory glance through google would inform you of the constitutional powers of the Vice President of Nigeria. As for loyalty, it is in the same class as integrity. either you score 100 or u score 0, there are no in between's but then Nigerians are used to hedging their loyalties and shifting from pillar to post just to satisfy their selfish motives, they find the VP a strange bedfellow. Angelstudios: when the head is gone what happens to the body....this country is on auto. Buhari is brain dead or how do you explain what's going on. If Buhari cannot manage his family how will he manage a complex country like Nigeria. These people know what they are doing even Aisha knows Buhari is gone she also wants to form her own cabal. I blame Osinbajo for all these because he is on joint ticket with Buhari and when you know Buhari is no more capable you stand up and fight for the Country you took an Oath to defend when you have the constitutional backing. Now the first family want to hold on to power, Zahra and Aisha has suddenly become vocal, the cabals are doing their own but Osinbajo is forming loyalty to who? is it Buhari that's brain dead or to cabals that will silent every of his moves. We are just starting we are going to 2023 and am sure if Buhari is not careful the cabal will kill him and force Osinbajo to resign or force Osinbajo to resign then kill Buhari.... this Country is gone. Everything happen around Buhari is unknown to him, he is old and he hardly remember anything. |

Unfortunately, the VP is not omnipresent and cannot be at two places at the same time but now, he's come out to even explain that were he to be around, the timing would have been inappropriate to receive the award based on the conditions prevalent. these are attributes that are lacking in your everyday Nigerian politician who are always about their self-interests alone |

To say this then you must have very limited knowledge of the person of the VP. To butress my point you can read from the story itself where it is said that even the VP agrees that now might not be an appropriate time to bag the award hence it's postponement. Mr. Alaka added that Osinbajo “himself shares this awareness and the inappropriateness of the award at this point.” This line right here is the most powerful sentence in the whole piece. It show's the level of understanding and respect for the people that Prof Osinbajo has. As much as anyone might want to change the narrative we must all remember who it was that sacked the erstwhile DSS boss for invading the House of assembly; am incident I am sure played its part in making him meritorious of the award in the first place. |

You really have no knowledge of the Nigerian mindset. There is no win for Sowore, the average Nigerian is yet to come around to the revolutionary politics he represents. We need to see that most of the voters aren't even on social media Mannylex: The government Of Buhari would make Sowore Nigeria's Mandela or Martin Luther Jr
Sowore is gaining popularity as well as public sympathy both locally and internationally. This would greatly boost his image and in the future help his political dreams.
The only way Buhari can stop him is to kill him and if he dares to do that, there would be a very strong revolution Buhari would not know what hit him.
The biggest winner here in the long run is Sowore.

“You remember that it was the illegal invasion of the National Assembly by masked DSS men that led to the dismissal of the former DG, DSS, by this government. Pray, someone inform me who was acting president when this dismissal occurred. VP Osinbajo. “So for the same barbaric conduct to occur again We simply need to lay the buck at the exact feet of those to blame, and not just expect Ministers to act only on matters relating to lawyers including the four Senior Advocates of Nigeria.” Ecstasy154: Ade Adesomoju, Abuja
Human rights lawyer, Mr Femi Falana (SAN), who leads Mr Omoyele Sowore’s defence team, has asked the Nigerian Bar Association to take disciplinary actions against lawyers in President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet over what he described as desecration of the court with Sowore’s rearrest at the Federal High Court in Abuja, causing a disruption of court proceedings.
He said his legal team would meet on Saturday to determine the next line of action.
He said there were 10 lawyers with four of them Senior Advocates of Nigeria, who ought to live up to their oath to defend the Constitution and other laws of the country, by ensuring that the rule of law was observed by the government.
The SANs in the cabinet are Vice President Yemi Osinbajon (SAN), Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami; Minister of State for Labour, Mr Festus Keyamo; and Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola.
He said, “Even though President Muhammadu Buhari has a duty to caution the Department of State Services, the blame of the desecration of the court today (Friday) rests squarely on lawyers in government, who are under a duty to ensure that the rule of law is observed.

“They have all taken the oath to respect the Constitution and other laws of the country. That Constitution guarantees the independence and impartiality of the courts.
“They therefore cannot sit in a cabinet under a regime that terrorises the courts and subverts the rule of law.
“It is a matter the Nigerian Bar Association should take up against the lawyers in the cabinet by instituting disciplinary proceedings against them.”
Faulting the arrest of his client, he described it as contemptuous.
He also noted that it was not backed by any arrest warrant or detention order of court.
He said, “There is no warrant of arrest, there is no detention order. What the DSS did today was the height of contempt of court.
“Nobody is above the law. You either abolish the courts or allow them to function effectively.
“This is a situation where the DSS operatives invaded the court and forced the judge to adjourn proceedings; they chased the judge out of her court, disrupted the proceedings and forced the judge to adjourn all cases.
“These are manifestations of fascism, which cannot be accepted in any civilised society. This has never happened in Nigeria where you take over a court forcefully in order to arrest an unarmed citizen.
“You remember that it was the illegal invasion of the National Assembly by masked DSS men that led to the dismissal of the former DG, DSS, by this government.
“So for the same barbaric conduct to occur again is unacceptable. This is a regime that parades 10 senior lawyers, including four Senior Advocates of Nigeria.”
Asked if he had been informed of any reason why his client was rearrested or whether he was going to be freshly, he said “no”

Did we all blame or advice Atiku, when udi was leveled? If a doctor botches an operation would we expect the VP to speak or if a lecturer takes one of his students to the cold room. This hypocrisy simply because he's a lawyer needs to stop. He's the VP OF ALL NIGERIAN PROFESSIONS.
