iv4fb: Thank you. Very reasonable thoughts. |
iv4fb: Gbam!!! |
lakamua: And if you, your parents or any member of your family has ever indulged in any corrupt act, financial or otherwise, it means mansions are been prepared for you all in hell fire. |
iv4fb: Correct. Some people open their mouths and spit trash on what they know nothing about. Maybe it has been a long time he visited Lagos. He needs to take a trip to Oshodi, Ajegunle, Bariga,Obalende and the rest where dirts and filths decorate the environment and Fashola can't do a jack about it. What about more than 15 houses that collapsed under Fashola's reign why has he not tackled it just like Ebola? |
godsI: God bless you. So on point. |
mobuch: God bless you. I am happy there's someone like you on nairaland with such sense of positive reasoning. Just as you said, those rats abusing the president at any slightest opportunity are products of uncultured families and senile parents. There's is no way a child with proper home training would disparage a sitting president in such condemnable manner. As God Almighty lives, they shall reap their rewards now and their respective futures. |
BlackTechnology: SECONDED. |
barcanista: That's a little bit over bloated! You can never claim to love Nigeria more than I do. Anyway, that's not the crux of this discuss. There's nothing criminal about the transaction. Rather, it all went awry as a result of South Africa's disposition to us as a people. It's just a vendetta and pay back from Zuma and his once apartheid beaten nation. If there's any blame on Nigeria's side, it's the inability of our security echelon to read in between the lines judging from SA's attitudes to Nigeria and Nigerians living among them. In a nutshell, the transaction seemed legitimate but ran into the troubled waters of a presumed "friendly" country. I rest my case. |
deeobserver209: You are very right. It's astonishing how we rush into judgements and condemning others without justifications. What is rather appalling is the involvement of Nigerian youths (the adjudged leaders of tomorrow) joining the bandwagon. I am sure many of those that called Pastor Orishajefor many unprintable names are on their kneels begging for forgiveness. That's one of the reasons why Nigeria is in her present position. |
barcanista: I am convinced you know too well that those responses weren't based on emotions. If there's anybody whose analogies aren't mostly tied to rational thinking but blind distrust and political rigmarole, you are a sure bet candidate. Anyway, Nairaland should not be a platform for interpersonal diatribes but a medium for intellectualism and nation building. Let's be bridge builders and not destroyers! |
Sincere9gerian: Don't be surprised friend. Most Nigerians don't have the ability to conceded defeat even when it's beyond proportion. Instead of throwing up bribery as the reason for the latest recants from SA, silence should have been a better option. Blind criticism and spurious insinuations aren't good for liberal minds. |
barcanista: Rather, what has "not added up" is your unabated disenchantment with and disbelief in explanations or statements emanating from govt circle. The nation has been told of the secretive but legal nature of the cash-for-arms transaction and I think they should be given benefit of the doubt. There's nothing fishy if the govt in their wisdom decides to use private plane to convey officials and currency for foreign transactions if that's the best option to effect its smooth sail. As earlier told, this is not the first time such secrete arms purchase has been done and it won't be the last. For instance, we have seen Nigerian police using civilian commercial vehicles to effect arrest of notorious armed robbers in Lagos. If such action turns awry, should the authority be castigated for not using regular police vans? You might say that's a local inference, but using Orishajefor's chartered plane was not an anomaly but a clear strategy to avoid enemies' attention. That's my opinion, I may be wrong though. |
paramedic: There is still HOPE in this our Nigeria You are right. We just needy to be optimistic, patriotic, constructive and prayerful. Nigeria has potentials for greatness, all that is required is honesty from both the leaders and the led. |
manuelzz: *In D'banj's voice*..........OminiGEJ..!! Best, most hardworking and humble president Nigeria has ever had!!!! God bless you sir!!! Well said. |
ajalaolanr: It's really sad that you can not distinguish ones duty from taking ones discretion to perform , the first deserves no applause while the later deserves one. In this case of honoring the man that designed the Nigerian Flag, it is not the presidents duty but his discretion. Did you bother to carefully read my post? There was no part that says PDP should be applauded for GSM revolution in Nigeria. Rather, I was only trying to lay emphasis on it as one of PDP legacies. I know you don't consider it as a big deal but it is. Breaking the monopoly of old NITEL and its managers was a task achievable only by the strong livered. The administrators must have tried all means to frustrate the deregulation of telecommunication industry knowing what adverse effects it portended for their fortunes as individuals and corporate entity. But if OBJ and his PDP could break all odds to damn all ensuing consequent, it's worth of mention. |
lastpage: Thunder ke? Man, all those issues are top of GEJ's priorities 1. If Shekau could go down, Chibok abduction will soon be history. 2. This mighty sound offensive, you CAN NEVER get a politician in Nigeria who's not corrupt. It's a painful truth. 3 Lagos Ibadan Express Road is WIP. 4 Doctors are been paid as at when due except if they go on strike. 5 In all honesty, lecturers' welfare has witnessed unprecedented lift since the return of democracy under PDP govt. It's just that human needs can be insatiable. 6 GEJ has never played politics with our security outfits. His style is a little different from Odi case study. 7 Be fair my friend, if GEJ truly wants to use military against the opposition, APC will not win any election in Nigeria and Lai Mohammed would have been history. If you doubt this, ask OBJ 8 Unfortunately, you just have to live by it. Not everyone has power of oration! While some are good in writing, other's strong point is oral presentation. We all have diversified gifts but no one is a custodian of all gifts or talents. 9 I am sure the Minister of Agric hooks on to nairaland, maybe he will add your suggestion to his agric revolution agenda. 10 Who do you want him to sell to? His enemies? In as much as the beneficiaries are Nigerians, what we need is positive result, my man. Any other yearnings? Just be positive. Let's pray for Mr.President. |
ajalaolanr: Since return to democratic rule, this is the only thing the PDP Govt has done to deserve applause , but this man has very little time left on this earth, is he gonna live for ever as the president as said that he'd be paid salary forever? This should have been well though of and such gesture be extended to the mans children and lineage....just my opinion. Plus the GSM revolution and IT liberalisation. Can you still remember when only the rich could afford 090? When speaking to relatives overseas thru phone was a luxury and exclusive to well-to-dos? When NITEL was more brutal than NEPA? Breaking NITEL monopoly was a mean feat, courtesy PHEE DEE PHEE |
herryolu: watching that man going to receive the award l cried honestly I had never felt that emotional watch tv except while growing up that we watch India film n cannot help but cry.but today broke that record for me l wept for d man n my country Nigeria especially when the man introduced him as Nigeria flag design.the best news l heard today was placing the man on lifetime salary though it was rather late but am happy for the man n it shows Jonathan still have a bit of human feelings He has always exhibited human feelings. Forget the orchestrated and politically motivated Chibok "abduction". Remember he has repeatedly told Nigerians his ambition is not worth the life of any Nigerian. We know the bloodsuckers who don't mind youth corpers slaughtered for presidential ambition. |
Xplicitonu: God bless the most reasonable, democratic and solution provider president of nigeria. For this noble gesture... U've got my vote come 2015. Millions agree with you. |
xcolanto: GEJ the leader that has his citizens at heart! When GEJ said those that insulted him yesterday would rejoice and praise him today, many thought he was 'clueless' as opposition would say. Today this thread stands as a testimony to that. Well done Sir! My friend, you need to feel how elated I am today. I am happy because many nairalanders despite diverse opinions and political inclinations, have deemed it worthwhile to jettison sentiments in overwhelmingly praising the president for these gestures. My instinct always tells me GEJ is a good man and a good president. There are some qualities in him that endears him to me every time. Like I have always said, Jonathan has his shortcomings as a human born of flesh, so do all of us as mortals. What matters most is whether our buts outweighs merits or vice versa. In the case of the president, his good sides far surpasses any negatives and that's a fact. I have seen so many presidents in Nigeria and other parts of the world, GEJ's humility and tolerance is second to non. Aside this, the nation needs a Godfearing leader in this trying moment of our history as a nation and GEJ fits the bill. |
jpphilips: Mr Jonathan, your statements are embarrassing for most Nigerians, since the inception of your administration, the level of unguarded utterances tolerated from different hopeless quarters including militants is unprecedented. While it's your excuseable right to like or dislike the president, citing utterances from David Cameron, Obama or any other Western leaders to condemn the way our president speaks sound incongruent. I can say without any iota of reservation that those world leaders can never be more responsive and responsible than our president. In all ramifications I am yet to be convinced that Obama, for instance stands a better president than GEJ. Having a power of oration is one thing, been committed to putting those words into reality is another. The David Camerons of this world will make hundreds of empty promises using oratory prowess to convince their audience but achieve little at the end. Whatever might be GEJ's shortcomings as a human, the most important thing is his commitment to a prosperous and egalitarian country and I am not sure he has underperformed in those responsibilities. |
superfour: This is terrible ooo! How sombody Said that the president of his own Country was lookin like sheep? Really, really terrible. I was closed to tears reading that guy's post. Saying your president looks like a sheep? That's appalling. Being disrespectiful has not been this bad. |
nijanigga: Even thou Obasanjo no mean am,he should thank Obasanjo. He made him with the blessings of God to be who is he today. But the man endorsed and harbor corruption, thou he initially told us that he will do the will of God,that's why he will pay dearly for it. You are completely wrong. Obasanjo is just a vessel used by God to fulfil his wish for GEJ's destiny. So was Moses used to secure the release of Israelites from Pharaoh's bondage. No man can share God's glory with him and in this particular case of the president, let 100% of the glory go to God Almighty. |
juman: Yeah. A disappointment to you and your family but surely not to other millions of Nigerians. |
anonimi: I thought your cluelessness was simply a flash in the pan but I was mistaken as it seems well embedded and ingrained. I thank God for this country with people like you around. You're amongst those who do not allow sentiment to kill their conscience. Pls keep it up. |
uchdollar111: Right on Mr. President, we that are with U are greater than those that are against U. Anyway check out www.myeventsgallery.com sign up to receive free gifts b/4 our launching party. God bless you and the Federal Republic of Nigeria. |
1stola: Coming from a niggà from the flàthead lizard clan, I don't blame you. Even though I can't see you physically, your response has sold you out! A nobrainer. Instead of responding to either confirm or counter my post, you are busy using putrid and incongruent slangs. Whatever they spent on your education is a total waste. |
Ayostically: Which victory? After d loss of over a thousand citizens and the chibok girls stil missin! Stop fooling yourself. Whether Boko haram is crushed or not, whether Chibok girls (who were carefully hidden by Shetima and his Boko boys) are found or not, GEJ will rule till 2019. |
adonis89: may God punish u for insulting d president And the hosts of heaven say Amen. |
JEITO: Why e dey pain some people say OUR PRESIDENT dey boast say e go crush BH? Abi dem get stake inside the group ni Demons will not say Amen to such. Rather, they are silently sulking. |
JEITO: why are you angry because he said he was going to crush BH? Was it Lagos state that restricted entries into Nigeria after patrick sawyer? Or was it lagos state that set up ebola testing and isolation centres in all the geo-political regions of this country? And ensured those who were infected were adequately quarantined and those that escape to other states brought back? Or was it lagos state that did mass sensitization of Nigerians on ebola Thank you. Their reasoning faculties are seriously impaired. |
1stola: Gej is retàrded Your own soul is under severe punishment already. So GEJ is smarter to have conceived and hatched all these under the nooses of IBB, Abdussallam, Tinubu, Fashola, Gowon, Obj, Kwankwaso, Ameachi and the rest who are very close to the government and have their footsoldiers in the military? You are a disgrace to whoever sent you to school. |
