Did i just see Nairaland on the list of "No political affiliation"?
And please remove TVC as an affiliate of APC or any other party. They too are neutral! You are spoiling their reputation. Who sent you? TVC is 100%, in fact 1000% APC. I beg, stop committing sacrilege on nairaland. |

donmalcolm21: Taking a cusory look at 2015 elections and the lies and propaganda being spewed out, I've decided to list out Nigeria media leanings and their political affiliation so that you can "judge the book by its cover".
PDP: Vanguard, Sun, Thisday, Tribune, LIB AIT, NTA, FRCN, VON, Champion, Daily Independent.
APC: Nation, Punch, Saharareporters, Premiumtimes, TVC, Inspiration Fm, ereporters, Leadership, Dailytrust, etc
NO Political Affiliation:Guardian, Nig info, Nairaland, Channels. OP, Nigeria Info(Lagos and Abuja) are 100% APC. Moreover, you forgot to add the third most dominant but unregistered political party; the Boko Haram. Report says they are affiliated with APC but it has not yet been officially confirmed. Their Media Houses are Sahara Reporters, Daily Post, CNN, BBC, AFP, Aljazeera, ,TVC, The Nation and some supporter of APC freelance bloggers. |

busayochic: Why do we like lying to ourselves? The 1st pic on this thread is a building on banana island and I ask myself; how many nairalanders can afford a bq there? I personally think the lagos state govt laid so much emphasis on the major commercial parts of lagos and totally ignored the residential bit of the state. Most residential roads are either not tarred or filled with sooo many potholes... from Okota to ago palace way to gbagada, oshodi, mushin, ajao estate, ilasa etc the list is endless; the state of the roads in the inner streets are suicidal death traps! yet they say lagos is working ? Okota road and ago palace way road has been bad for years and nothing is being done there.... there are so many other residential roads like that... soo hard to even visit friends and family members around lagos! the first thing u would want to ask is: "how is the road leading to ur house"? What a piece! You have virtually spoken my mind on those salient points you touched. Moreover, I am yet to come to term with the real intent of the OP. Is he trying to diffuse the following; * That more than 80% of households in Lagos lack pipe-borne water? * That the menace of Area Boys is on the increase? *That those pictures represent a fractional 15% of beautiful buildings in Lagos? * That Lagos is the only "mega city" in the world where beautification is on the surface and not a true representation of its inward and entire outlook? While it's not a crime to celebrate our own, any sincere Lagosian will not reel in ecstasy looking at those fantasy pictures. |

As a tip, just place your ears near the heart of any angry woman around you and you will hear some beeps(sometimes sounding chio, chio, chio) and that's the hormone in action. Anyway, don't bother yourself, you're too young for such metaphysicals. Just face your studies and I will advise your mum and dad to make Homonology your first choice in the university. Very unfortunate............ Friend, that town and Nigeria as a whole has never had real peace, it has just been an easy calm. We are a people that like sweeping the truth under the carpet and pretending that all is well when we know it's the contrary. In a country where a religion is claiming supremacy over the other religions; where some people believe they are superior to others politically, its just a matter of time before hell is loosed. Nigeria is not a nation but a forced union. |

Can you see your life? So you want a southern president to surrender to those power mongers? No way. I am not a tribalist, but history tells us that no southern president had enjoyed smooth sail in power courtesy of those that believe it's their right to rule Nigeria. Let me briefly go down the memory lane; in 1993, these were the same people that ensured MKO Abiola was not sworn in as the president. Between 1999 and 2007, the same bloodhounds and power hungry beings initiated Sharia to scuttle OBJ's administration when it dawned on them that he( OBJ )was unusable and becoming a man of his own. Now, it's Boko haram under the disguise of religion. Anybody expecting GEJ to declare total onslaught on Boko haram is not been sincere. Were we not in the country when Buhari, EL Rufai, NEF and the rest accused him of committing genocide against the north when he ordered partial bombardment? Nigerians should wake up and stop keying into the agenda of born to rule north. Period. |

cramjones: I remember a bomb hit Boston and killed 2 Americans who participated in the Boston Marathon. The whole media was awash with the news. CNN and other mainstream media gave us minute-by-minute update on how the two suspects were being tracked. Nigerians got so interested and emotional about people they knew very little about. The Nigerian social media space trended with things like "Pray for Boston", "America we are with you," Even the Federal Government of Nigeria extended their sympathy to the people of the United States. While the hollywood-like search for the two suspects went on, there was at least 7 bomb blasts in Nigeria that killed scores of people, yet the same Nigerian's that were all over social media "praying" for Americans moved on and kept mute like nothing happened. What did the GEJ do? He went on a campaign rally dancing behind a twerking woman, whose picture was circulated by my friend and brother Nasir El-Rufai.
Fast forward till today, in less than two weeks we have had over 100 people killed by the Haramites using bombs! Upper and lower limbs littered all over the place, innocent blood soaking and drenching our land; Cities captured and renamed, and a whole lot of atrocities. Yet, our media has focused on Tambuwal. Other new media such as Linda Ikeji and Nairaland preferred to turn their focus on big booties. And what did our president do? He jetted out to Burkina Faso to broker a change in power, while his people and his country are under siege by the haramites. No presidential statement have been made about the captured Nigerian territories. No presidential statement on the bombed people of Gombe and Bauchi people, and the list goes on and on.
Are we as Nigerians and our government now thick-skinned to the loss of Nigerian lives? Does Jonathan even deserve to be called the President of Nigeria. Why do people living south, make such outrageous statements as "Let them keep killing themselves?" Is this now the level of Nigerian humanity?
I have said this and I will say it again, If this haramite madness continues, we must be prepared to kiss Nigeria goodbye come 2015. There is imminent war and violence brewing in all parts of Nigeria, except the South West and North-West. This war and violence will definitely consume Nigeria, and Jonathan will be our last president if he attempts to rig. Again, if this incompetent and wicked leader rigs this elections, then I can tell you with all sincerity, we must kiss Nigeria good bye. History is a good teacher, and we cannot ignore the American Intelligence report on the existence of Nigeria beyond 2015. As for me. I have refurnished my house Iowa, United States ready to be occupied if GEJ presses that botton. Unfortunately not all Nigerians can escape a burning country. For this reason, we must fight this government out of power for the survival of Nigeria.
It is not all gloomy. We have a chance to change the status quo. We have a chance to change the rot of corruption in Nigeria and allow Nigeria exist beyond 2015. We have that chance in General Mohammadu Buhari. I can tell you, the people's General will certainly make politics unattractive to looters, once they have been locked up in jail and the keys thrown away.
A word is enough for the wise!

In nigeria education is not an escape route from poverty if it is ,we wont have hungry graduates out there.the poor are still poor because they believe the government is a charity organisation that needs to give them education and after that education give jobs . like I said , I would have no problems if the government gives automatic jobs to students in our public institutions. can you compare the state of uniben in the 80's to its current state. thats where we keep getting it wrong . the university of then cannot be compared to the university of now in quality . it is a failed system and bringing it back to what it used to be is a long term investment . do you think there will be no ASUU strike again .... Yes , if the federal govt realises they cannot bring back the standard alone . Stop justifying imperialism my friend. LASU fee hike was gross oppression and nothing less. Are you saying this govt was better than GMB's?? Sincerely and in all honesty ?? Is that what you are saying OP ??
Well, you can not ask me to make the same mistake I made in 2011. I have sincerely asked myself if I was proud of my choice last term and my answer is No.
As for Buhari, he may not be the best but you can't deny he is the lesser of two (2) evils (since everyone believes there are no good Nigerians) How many past president lives his kind of life? How many Ex-president's daughter teaches or lead the everyday life Nigerians live? Therefore, going by my assessment, logic and what I can feel of my environment... My natural choice is CHANGE.
And my choice as of today remains Buhari -- if for anything to kick out cluelessness and irresponsibility out of govt. Moreso, i will be correcting my mistake of last term.
