Buhari is president and not you, when and if you become president you can say anything you like. He might be a tragedy to you, that does not mean he is a tragedy to over 180 million other Nigerians. Instead of ever whining of what ever Buhari says or does, start presenting alternative policies and candidate for the 2019 elections. If all you people do is wail and whine, then Buhari would have a smooth sailing in 2019.

Any govt that takes people's wailing with levity does so at its own peril. Since the people can't take the law into their hands, the best they can do is wail and wail. Can you remember what happened in August 1985? God forbid!

On the statement itself, its a dumb one because to my knowledge Metuh was never in government but was a party man, so fail to see how far he could have directly influenced building of hospitals, et al by government.

On topic, this govt is not really a disappointment, it shouldn't be to anyone who has even a rudimentary knowledge of Nigeria's political history, it was to be expected. The same things that made Buhari unelectable the first 3 times, are still present today; the decision to put him there despite the warning signs has already been made, Nigerians just have to suck it up and see where we land.

I , personally, even with my harsh criticism of this government, had an expectation that his speech would have been more reconciliatory, more humble, more recognition and acceptance of mistakes made in the past 12 months, taking full responsibility for current economic situation under his watch, and promising to consult more, listen more and do more.

Buhari is sure turning out to be a tragedy of misplaced trust.

The health concern if true, is self-inflicted rather than circumstantial. Choosing to personally attend most local and international engagements rather than delegating some to his VP and other lieutenants depicts lack of trust on one hand and overzealousness on the other.

6] 41 foreign companies mostly in service industry left the country.
7] 4.3 Million jobs lost in 10months - National Bureau of Statistics.
8] Food scarcity last experienced in Nigeria between 1983 to 1985 returned back to the country.
9] War on Corruption turned to war against his perceived enemies, any conviction by EFCC are cases meticulously started by previous govt(s). Buhari only win cases on pages of Newspapers.
10] Nigeria dropped from No.1 Investment destination in Africa to No.27 before South Sudan.
11] African Biggest economy shrink from a GDP of about 7% to -0.36%, the fastest decline in the world since record begins.
12] No.3 fastest growing economy in the world to No.83 in 365days.
13] WAR ON TERROR.
The last 3 LGAs under Boko Haram in Feb 2015, Abadam, Kala-Balge and Gwoza where all recovered before the general election and Buhari's ill-advised policy of banning Road blocks lead to Boko haram recovering more LGAs and have the potency to attack.
Buhari have all on his hand to succeed, but the extravagant President squandered all the funds, goodwill, and only delivered hardship to Nigerians in his first #‎365days‬.
As the Biblical Prodigal son, Buhari #‎Wasted‬ all the Ntrillion handed over to him. His Body language, Lies and Propaganda lost its potency about 6 months ago as the pains of his incompetence is felt by both the 97% and 5%.

If you've followed Nigerian politics vis-à-vis Presidents' speeches in the last one and a half decade, drawing conclusions on Buhari's maiden Democracy Day Speech shouldn't be a herculean task. Repeating what has been said many times in the last twelve months is crass display of emptiness.

As I said before, not that I found the speech inspiring, but people should stop making outlandish statements based on hate. What basis do you want me to establish other than the fact that the speech was a recap of statements already in public domain? How many hours or days do you expect me to use in matching Mr President's Democracy Day broadcast with his past speeches and promises?

If INEC shld announce a winner where there are cases of snatching of ballot boxea and over voting,am sure we still condemn INEC. Free and fair election does not include over voting and snatching of ballot boxes. Stop blaming INEC for what our politicians,security agencies and electorates are causing.

My friend, security at poll units is the sole responsibility of INEC as stipulated in the electoral statute. That's why Electoral Officers are empowered to announce postponement of elections where there's threat of violence or any act that runs foul of free and fair election. With Buhari's change agenda, Nigerians expect improved conduct of polls rather than gale of inconclusiveness.

Where is d fault of INEC in this case? It was said that d marginal diff btw the leading candidate and d first runner up is less than cancelled votes. And i think there was a court verdict on this issue and this is what INEC has been clinging onto in case like this. Is it INEC dat told d electorates to have over-voting? Is it INEC dat is causing violence or snatching of ballot boxes? Then why do we always blame INEC wenever there is an inconclusive election? INEC is guided by laws. If at all declaring an election inconclusive is illegal,why dont political parties/candidates/civil societies/even d electorates approach court to argue dis out?

So APC's Change does not include departure from the usual snatching of ballot papers and over voting? Whose responsibility is it to conduct free and fair election?

While this is going on an unprecedented social protection programme is being out in place as a palliative while labour and government has set up a commitee to work out a new minimum wage . We Buhari supporters are ready and willing to bear a little discomfort in order to have a brighter and better future in a nation we will all be proud of you unlike the opposition who prefer not to tackle situations but rather use those challenges to enrich themselves and cronies.

Even if the minimum wage is increased, what is the percentage of its beneficiaries to the nation's labour force? In other words, what's the ratio of civil servants to employees in the private sector? From the list of those earmarked for the so-called social welfare scheme, it represents less than 2% of the nation's 170milliom population, so what are you taking about?

Did you just say the school feeding programme has been "tried and tested"? Take a trip to Osun State where it was pioneered and come back with feedbacks on its implementation. That programme is one of the reasons Osun State is in debt today. Besides, the last WAEC performance statistics actually placed Osun as one of the states with lowest pass level. What does that connote? It simply means the school feeding programme has done nothing to improve the state's school enrolment and academic performance. Quote me anytime, the Fed Govt would regret threading the same crooked lane.

He was speaking to both 95% and 5%. Nigeria is Mr. President's first constituency.

Listening to Mr. President's Democracy Day broadcast which ended few minutes ago, I cannot but shake my head in utter disbelief, despondency, disappointment and consternation. Empty and shallow, the difference between the speech and APC 2015 campaigns from my own observation, is the difference between half a dozen and six. Characterised by the usual lamentations about the ruins of the past, rhetorics about implementation of the TSA policy, discovery of 43,000 ghost workers in govt payroll, establishment of Efficiency Unit and the much hyped Social Intervention Programmes( which had already been exhaustively echoed by the Ministers of Finance and Information at different fora), nothing suggests this govt has a gilt-edge agenda for speedy recovery of lost grounds economically, politically and socioculturally. On looted fund recovery, the president must have disappointed many of his ardent supporters by failing once again, to give specific figure on amount recovered so far and the number of culprits involved. On security, the president betrayed his "Maitatsine Insurgency feat" by celebrating the rescue of 2 Chibok Girls from a list of 217. Mediocrity has never been this bad in our nation's history. Going as far as threatening Niger Delta agitators in the face of helpless bombings of oil installations would do more harm than good to the nation's fragile economy and peace. Curiously, did anybody notice that the president avoided commenting on herdsmen escapades or was it an unintended omission? If after one year in office, the best President Buhari could offer on his maiden Democracy Day broadcast was the usual loads of seemingly unending promises, the nation needs to fret about its future.

The lies are legendary. Virtually all the major media houses have been compromised and cowed by this adminstration. Yesterday, it was the President's turn to buy the media's conscience through the so-called media parley after Lai Mohammed had finished his own. The signs are not heartwarming at all.

Coming right from the Jagaban's colony. Only enemies of Nigeria would counteract this LCCI position. All the stories of empty treasury and PDP's alleged 16-year ruinous rule coming from APC and the Presidency are nothing but concocted attempts to play down Buhari's crudity, inexperience, primitivity and analogous misrule.

Obasanjo did not use military's mismanagement of Nigeria's economy pre-1999 as an excuse to slow down our pace of development neither did Obama lash on Bush's 8-year misrule as an alibi not to steer America out of dangling recession. Both scenarios were more precarious and pitiable than the one met by Buhari in 2015. The simple fact is that neither Buhari nor his team has the intellectual and managerial capabilities to reposition the country from its economic doldrum. All they would do till 2019 is the usual trial and error.
