poiZon:Nice response. I intentionally chose not to reply that guy. |
poiZon:Nice rew |
hotdi:As a point of correction, govt should be fighting for the interest of the citizenry rather than pursuing self-serving ones and that's what Buhari administration is doing. |
cyprex:Just take a look at your post again. A recognised faction of NLC decided to stage a walk-out and all the govt could do was to start negotiating with a parallel faction and you think that upholds similitude of decency? Common! |
tbaba1234:But government can further polarise the Union to pave way for the actualisation of its own oppressive agenda by negotiating with two warring factions at the same time? |
OrlandoOwoh:Agreed Buhari was not there when they held the election, must he further polarise the union by negotiating with warring factions? |
nonjebose:Are you suggesting govt should take advantage of division in the union to exploit the masses? |
hotdi:If Govt only recognised Wabba faction at inception why did they choose to negotiate with the other faction at this point in time? |
allthingsgood:The NLC as far as Nigeria is concerned is one. So, if there's a feud among vested stakeholders, govt efforts should gear toward mending fences instead of callously polarising them. That's the essence of my post. OK? |
allthingsgood:Is your problem centred around inability to comprehend simple fact or sheer cynicism? How many times would I say the govt should eschew divisiveness? Is it a crime if the warring factions are brought to round table for the sake of peace in the labour force? I am tired of you. |
allthingsgood:Firstly, I am not a wailer but a concerned Nigerian who's after a prosperous, egalitarian, unpolarized, progressive and peaceful nation. Secondly, yes it's true NLC was fractionalized before the advent of Buhari's administration but the last govt did not officialize or magnify the divisions. By negotiating with two factions of the same union, APC has proved to the world that they can even dine with Satan just to have their way. That's satanism at its peak. |
HurtgenForest:Truth be told, APC and Buhari have succeeded in creating an impression that what's good for the goose IS NOT good for the gander in the minds of many Nigerians. As far as it's APC any action taken by them is immune to public scrutiny and query. Very unhealthy for an egalitarian society. |
AZeD1:The inability of the Union members to put their house in order is down to political interference from government circle. Everyone knows Wabba led NLC is the officially recognized one but this administration has decided to play the devil's advocate for Ajero faction and in the same vein, courting two brides at the same time. That's a height of insensitivity and divisibility. |
AZeD1:My post is specifically about polarisation of NLC and Nigeria in general. What affects a tree also affects its branches. |
UmuEri:Friend, if that's the case, why does it look as if the strike is ineffective? |
AZeD1:You're narrowing it down to Labour unionism alone forgetting that members of NLC are Nigerians also. If the citizens are intentionally divided among different lines by a sitting government, where's the hope of a united Nigeria? |
kunta2simple:No please. The division exists both in facts and figures. |
Hmmmm. Very interesting. Similar scenario played out in 2012 when Industrial Court of Arbitration granted an order stopping NLC from going ahead with its proposed strike. Not only did the strike go ahead, the organisers of the infamous Occupy Nigeria Protest(who are now in Buhari's govt) but worked in conjunction with NLC did not raise a hoot about the court restriction. Let's try to do good in this world. I won't say more than that. |
bodejohn:Good reasoning. Thank you. |
UAE123:I am afraid that's the major reason why the strike is ineffective. NLC is a divided house. |
Topleague:Think like a lettered person lady. Does it imply that Buhari's govt can do whatever it likes with workers since there's no common front to fight their course? Besides, I am not pained because I am a govt employee but my concern is how the APC-led government is further polarising Nigeria. It's too evident for all to see. |
AZeD1:What's the fate of workers in this? |
If there's anybody out there who is not completely convinced about the divisive nature of Buhari's administration, such a person needs to take a cursory look at how the presidency has jettisoned all decency by negotiating with two feuding factions of the NLC in the ongoing fuel hike faceoff. For the reason best known to them, the APC government in its 11 months reign in power has not deemed it necessary to unite the labour unions, instead it has been embarking on actions that further polarize the body. Ironically, during the last May Day Parade, the same Federal Govt completely shut out the Ajero faction of the NLC but sent representations to the Wabba led parade. This clearly underscores how divisive Buhari's govt is. The implication of this is that this adminstration is poised to leave Nigeria more divided than it met it. If the pendulum swings tomorrow and the Ajero faction suddenly becomes antagonistic, where will the govt run to? It's a dangerous game. |
I won't waste too much time in replying your nonsensical post but if you expect me to have faith in a lying, inconsistent, indecisive, sentimental and discriminatory president, you must be joking. If you share similar traits with Buhari as a person, that's your headache;live with it. |
The writer of this piece must be drunk with Lai-infested concoction. This is how they twist facts just to deceive humanity similar to what Lucifer did in the Garden of Eden. If they care to know, opponents of fuel subsidy in 2012 clearly told us THERE WAS NOTHING LIKE SUBSIDY. Simple as ABC. Buhari, Lai Mohammed, Hell Rufai and many APC stalwarts were so vocal in denying the existence of subsidy. This has absolute nothing to do with trust. Jonathan was specifically accused of paying subsidy just to compensate the people that financed his election. They should now be asked why Buhari has not been able to fish out those Jonathan's cronies as alleged? Why they have to pay more than half a trillion in the last 11 months on what they claimed did not exist. I have come to realise that most Nigerians are at home with this govt 's deciets but let's see how far it will go. |
If such anomaly had been discovered in the last administration, hell would have been let loosed by APC's propaganda machinery. |
A captivating news item from major tabloids on March 4, 2016 was the report on an alleged leaked letter from the office of the Minister for Information, Lai Mohammed purportedly seeking a loan of N13.12millon from the National Broadcasting Commission, one of the agencies under its direct supervisory control, for the purpose of financing an official trip to China. To some Nigerians, the loan request, taken from its merit, does not deserve unnecessary roar having been explicit on its purpose. However, a careful look at the policy thrust of Buhari's administration in the areas of prudence and accountability when matched with govt grandstanding on implementation of TSA policy should make any patriotic citizen raise dust on the sincerity of major players of the administration. First, we were made to believe that there has been substantial compliance with the TSA policy by MDAs and also, that almost N3trillion had been mopped up from its implementation. If these were to be taken hook, line and sinker, how come there was an idle fund at the NBC from which a whopping sum of N13.12million was to be paid out in form of loan bearing in mind that at the time the loan request was made, all govt funds should be at the CBN. This, among the following questions must be asked Lai Mohammed and the President; 1. Was the N13.12m loan request a tip of the Icebag on underhand financial activities going on under the Ministry of Information and other govt agencies? 2. How urgent and important was the China trip such that the Minister could not wait until approval of the Budget before embarking on it? 3. Going by the fact that one of the reasons for which the former DG of NBC was relieved of his duties was the alleged partial compliance with the TSA under his watch. on what moral ground would Lai Mohammed speak about the policy and its implementation in Nigeria? 4. Has this govt been deceiving Nigerians on its success story on TSA implementation? 5. Do we have exceptions to the anti corruption drive of Buhari's govt? 6. And most importantly, do we have a set of govt officials who preach one thing but do exactly the opposite? No matter how long a lie is repeatedly told, it will never change its nomenclature from been called lie. |
989900:So your head was dead when Osinbajo said Subsidy wasn't removed? |
From all indications, the said Akpodoro must be working for agents of Buhari/APC who obviously have not relented from their resolve to continue denigrating and rubbing Jonathan's name in the mud. They are scared of been paid back in the same coin of making Nigeria ungovernable throughout Jonathan's reign in power but that would be accomplished in due time, not by Jonathan or any mortal but by the Creator Himself. |
If Buhari/APC hadn't won the election; 1. Fashola, Nigige, Ameachi, Tinubu and other pretenders would have been boasting around telling the world how they would have turned Nigeria to a first-world country under one year. 2. A particular section of this country would have used Boko haram to annihilate entire Nigeria. Forget the noise been made by this govt, Boko haram made a u-turn after power changed hands at Aso Rock. 3. Only God knows which part of Nigeria would still have its dogs and baboons not soaked in blood. |
huptin:Did you read my post before quoting me? Obj indeed fiddled with the idea of subsidy removal but he couldn't accomplish it.. |
OP, you sounded intelligent but unfortunately, your sense of intellect has been completely murdered on the altar of hate, spite, parochialism and dumb cynicism. According to your narratives, someone fiddled with the concept of subsidy removal(or deregulation as you called it) while another actually put his words into action. I don't think you need anybody to interpret the difference between those two comparatives. The long and short of it is that OBJ never removed subsidy but Jonathan did. No matter how you try to downplay the satanic roles played by APC stalwarts in the infamous Occupy Nigeria Protests, Nigerians with untainted conscience would never be deceived. APC is a congregation of heartless human beings who should be detested by all and sundry except people like you whose conscience have been mortgaged. |
