The fact is that nobody gives what he doesn't have. Buhari was never intellectually and economically positioned to preside over a nation of more than 170million people in a 21st century era and that lays credence to his policy summersaults on fuel subsidy and currency devaluation. The so called feats achieved in 1984/85 were attributable to exploits of his lieutenants especially the late Idiagbon who was the defacto president. Buhari is a very clever character who often times portray a picture of who he's not. He thrives in the habit of harvesting and grandstanding with other people's glory.

We are truly in an interesting time. When Jonathan hinted the nation about the presence of Boko Haram in his government, one unrepentant alarmist and Chief Propagandist called Lai Mohammed almost brought down the roof on his head. These are the throws-up on this development;

1. Buhari's decision to grant subtle amnesty to the "repenting" members of Boko haram heightens suspicion about the presidency/APC's romance with the sect.

2. Fani Kayode and other Nigerians' position on APC's link and sympathy to Boko haram has some element of truth after all.

3. Many leaders of the sect (including Amirs, Amour bearers, IED improvisers, food suppliers etc) had been arrested by Buhari's govt in the last one year but none has been prosecuted. Does this revelation raise any eyebrow?

4. All the noise about military's defeat of Boko haram is a ruse. There's the likely hood that members of the sect were simply asked to cease fire and go home after accomplishing their mission.

It's actually aggravating and provocative to me, the way Buhari is systematically silencing the opposition. And by opposition, I mean the vocal PDP opposition. He first of all took out Metuh over flimsy charges of receiving money from Dasuki. He thereafter took out Fani-Kayode. Now he is focusing on the toughest of them all, Fayose - in spite of his immunity as a governor. This is flanked by the relentless media 'corruption' taint against the PDP by the ceaseless EFCC arrest and gleeful persecution of PDP faithfuls and officials who served under the outgone Jonathan administration.

Buhari is using a ruthless and ultra amplified draconian formula.

The endgame is to turn Nigeria into a one party state. Unfortunately, he will succeed unless Nigerians rise against this nonsense NOW.

This makes me regret Jonathan's naivety more and more everyday. Jonathan would have easily and ruthlessly ended the APC's dream from Day 1...prevented the useless party's formation and removed the bastard called Jega early enough. I can't forgive Jonathan for allowing himself be stampeded out of office in spite of all the power at his disposal. He didn't need to throw money around or appease foolish Yoruba or Northern leaders... Jonathan would have easily won that election and NOTHING would have happened.

You couldn't have said it better. Jonathan brought this upon himself and his party. Buhari and his party are gradually telling the world how dirty and crude politics should be played. I expect them(APC) to be magnanimous in victory and set out to bring smiles on the faces of Nigerians through people-oriented policy formulation instead of trying to annihilate the opposition. This is bad for our democracy.

Good talk. Has this double-mouthed chameleon ever heard talking about Buhari's WAEC Certificate debacle? Look at how he is twisting facts to justify his mischief. The constitution does not prevent investigating public officials (including governors) but it frowns at taking any action that leads to prosecutions including freezing of assets. Just because it's Fayose today, these politicians who parade themselves as social critics and democracy activists would turn our laws upside down in order to hang perceived enemies. Falana should just put on a full regalia of a politician instead of deceiving the nation in the name of legal luminary.

Did Jonathan run after Lai Mohammed and APC for publicly sympathizing with Boko haram? How many times did he victimize Fashola and Tinubu each time they upturned election results against the PDP in Lagos? Heaven will judge APC and their praise singers including you.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely. I don't really blame Buhari/APC for this reckless abuse of authority but Jonathan who allowed himself and his party to be stampeded out of office. If Jonathan had damned all the consequences, the likes of Buhari, Tinubu, Amaechi, Kwankwasso, Fayemi, Fashola and other pretenders should be inmates at Kuje prison. Despite the endless ridicule of Jonathan and his immediate family by APC leaders including sitting governors, he did not attempt to turn Nigeria into one-party state. Tens of Ekiti indigenes were allegedly murdered by Fayemi's political thugs, yet the man is walking freely as a Minister of the Federal Republic. Loads of petitions were written against him for fleecing Ekiti treasury but he's today a freeman. Why is Fayose earmarked for destruction by Buhari and his devilish govt? Why are they using power as if there's no tomorrow? A dog that's destined to go astray would refuse to heed the call of its owner.

God bless the writer of this letter. That has always been my problem with occupiers of Lagos State No.1 Seat of Government; always taking decision without considering its pros and cons. For God's sake, why stop people from trading on the streets when no feasible alternative or palliative is put in place. Agreed , street trading has its attendant demerits and hazards, has Lagos State Government provided alternative in form of affordable stalls and shops? The last govt took similar decisions by ejecting squatters from Makoko and other suburbs without adequate compensation and succor. We can't continue to maltreat ourselves as a people and expect a rancour/crime-free society.
