Benikuuse:Jonathan gave you and your entire family nothing. Stop using the word "us". OK? |
What a daft suggestion! What is the ratio of civil servants to entire Nigerian workforce? Are market women and men, artisans and private business employees also dependent on minimum wage? This surely is not commonsense. Please! |
This synchronises with what I said sometime ago on this platform; APC and its entire leadership (including Buhari) can be likened to a cat that suddenly becomes friendlier with an old woman just for the sake of stealing from her pot. These people never have genuine interest for the Nigerian masses but their glutinous bellies. All Elderstatemen are elders but not all elders are Elderstatemen. |
Love Machine:True talk. Though it's sometimes bitter but truth will always be truth. |
BeardedMeat:Good points. They see him as a leader who's easily manipulable.. |
doyinisaac:You've got mental issue. The entire nation including your family is crying for buying fuel at N145/litre. Be reasonable for once. |
Standing5:A misplaced and foolish trust you mean? Anyway, those with impaired reasoning ability and credibility issue will always trust him. |
omenka:Mention those 'great things' happening around you for the world to hear. |
doyinisaac:Haba! Human brains are not meant to work like programmed robots. What's the news about releasing money from a signed budget? Must you hail any inconsequential statement from this propagandist govt? What a generation! |
That Kachukwu's Press statement was crafted to give the nation the impression that all the attendees of the meeting including NLC, TUC, Senate Leadership and the rest indeed sanctioned the subsidy removal. We have in our hands a govt whose trickery and 419 is second to none in the annal of our nationhood. Personally, each time I see Kachukwu on TV, something tells me the man is the craftiest when placed side by side with Lai Mohammed and IBB. Nigeria is in a deep mess. |
AngryNigerian:Is diesel sold at N10 per litre? This guy don't annoy me this afternoon. |
Ehisod:Op, whoever sent you must be a twin brother to Lucifer. |
tete7000:Maybe they've scammed them with a promise of paying the N56,000 minimum wage. Those NLC guys can be so irresponsible. |
sammyj:Exchanging diatribes with people like you is sheer waste of time and data but Nigerians who still have their senses intact know who is now clueless between Buhari and Jonathan. By the time you begin to trek 5 kilometers to your place of work, you'll know what's up. |
Louiscutedude:When a good man (like Jonathan) passes, many choose to close their eyes but whenever a demon in human clothing(I won't mention his name) surfaces, 15million men and women incredibly shout hossana!. That's one irony of life. |
Quakertellicus1:Did Jonathan foresee escalation in the activities of Boko haram,, a menace that warranted spending substantial part of his budgets on security? Instead of venting your anger on Buhari's deceitful govt, you're here writing rubbish. |
1984/1985 fast forwarded. So, arrest and detention of suspects now precede background investigation! Nigerians, welcome to Buhari's militocracy. |
papparatzzi2013:Is something wrong with your psyche? Why do you always fall for the propaganda of this deceitful govt? What's the difference between making an official pronouncement of amnesty and rehabilitating "repentant" terrorists. Would the repentance of murderers atone for the lives wasted in almost a decade? As for the Defence HQ, the military is a core professional institution which must never be politicised under any guise. They should not have it at the back of their minds that all Nigerians are fools. Very soon, confirmed Assassins, Armed Robbers and kidnappers would be pardoned and rehabilitated after snuffing lives out of innocent citizens. We know the game they're playing with Nigerians but heaven will judge. |
The whole essence of the so-called Town-Hall meetings is to placate the citizenry having failed woefully to deliver on its campaign promises. With virtually nothing in their first-year scorecard, Buhari and APC are using the town hall meetings to further extend the hoax played on hapless Nigerians before the last polls. It's an avenue to repackage a kindergarten presidency. |
Aside democracy being redefined through unethical propaganda, the process of preparing and signing budget has never been this childish and cosmetic in Nigeria's history. From the president personally presenting a padded and error-filled budget proposal to the National Assembly amidst fanfare, down to unnecessary time-wasting theatrics in signing the budget proper during which the entire National Assembly top ranking echelon was in attendance, everything was characterised by naivety and dramas similar to Babasuwe and Mr. Ibu's cosmic shows. Governance has never been this pedestrian and kiddish since our return to democracy APC is ruling Nigeria as if they were never near corridor of power at any level in time past. So disgusting. |
NorthernParrot:That's a half truth. The initial budget submitted to the NA by Buhari was padded by the executive. Why were directors in budget office sacked? |
chinchong:You're absolutely right. |
And there seem to be conspiratorial alliance among social crusaders not to speak out on this anomaly. |
NorthernParrot:Pls stop that. Despite contesting for presidency for 12 years, your hero took a padded document to the NA and called it budget of change. Nobody would have known that the budget was padded and full of errors if not for the prying eyes of the Legislators and members of the public . |
Abeymills:Mental pic from the scenes of Abuja bombings makes me sick up till this moment. The blood of the dead will surely cry for justice. |
Firefire:Good question. Why waste billions of naira in prosecuting the war when pardon is on the card. |
kossyablaze:I think this is even beyond human intellectual capability, it speaks volume of one's conscience and respect for human lives. Those sent to the great beyond in their prime may not forgive this govt. |
chidekings:A stitch in time saves nine. Buhari and the military authority can still retrace their steps by making prompt corrections. It's a dangerous precedence to give amnesty to terrorists. |
LoveMachine:Only the court of law can determine the extent of involvement of an accused in any crime. In other words, those forcefully conscripted into the sect should exploit the window of defence whenever they go on trial. |
For those with functional and prejudice-free third eyes, the news of Federal Government granting amnesty in the form of rehabilitation to repentant Boko Haram terrorists through the Safe Corridor Initiative did not strike any semblance of surprise. In other words, we had seen this coming. What should constitute worry to Nigerians with discerning minds is the audacity at which the Buhari admisitration is going about with the initiative with little or no emphasis on its ripple effects. We should be concerned with apparent silence of international bodies and social critics on the danger and repercussionary effects of such initiative at this stage of our nationhood when sectional agitations seem to be on the increase. In the rundown to the last elections, President Buhari as the candidate of All Progressives Congress was quoted to have vowed to defeat Boko Haram and ensure rescue of the abducted Chibok girls within a short period of time if elected as the president. Eleven months down the lane, not only has the Buhari govt failed to effect the release of the girls from Boko haram captivity, attacks by the sect are yet to completely abate This now triggers question on the rationale for a decision to place those responsible for kidnap and monumental destruction of lives and property in the country on amnesty without trial. We may also like to ask the Military authority if these sect members have jettisoned the ideologies for which they brought terror on the nation and other neighbouring countries. They owe the nation explanations on whether or not those responsible for sponsoring Boko haram activities had been unmasked through confessional statements from the "repentant" members of the sect before considering them for rehabilitation and pardon. If these had not been done, then Nigeria is sitting on a keg of gunpowder the result of which may shake its foundation to unprecedented collapse. Question should also be thrown to Buhari's government what amnesty to Boko haram in whatever form portends for the continued peace of the nation. Does it mean that people with criminal intentions now have the licence to kill, maim and destroy lives and property under the disguise of fighting for religious, political or socio-ethinic relevance in future knowing that after all said and done, the govt in power would not have any choice other than granting them amnesty? Do we know if among the 800 repentant insurgents were killers of innocent citizens at Emab Plaza, Yanya Motor Park, Jos Terminus, Church and mosque premises etc? Will the relatives of those killed by the terrorists in the last 6-7 years take this govt's action with a pinch of salt and move on with their lives as if nothing had happened? Are we not setting a dangerous precedence for future hostilities and national discord if criminals are now rewarded with amnesty for doing a good job in rendering fellow citizens physically, emotionally and financially decapitated? Let it be echoed to all and sundry home and abroad that the Nigerian govt may have succeeded in rewarding criminality with a pat in the back instead of allowing justice to take its full course. We may have sent a wrong signal to our neighbours who are involved in the ongoing fight against Boko haram. We may have surreptitiously given free licence to militants, terrorists and other criminally-minded persons to take up arms against their fatherland. This govt may have established the culture of making the country ungovernable by those who may have one or two grouses against our continued peace, collective will and existence. God bless Nigeria. Cc; Lalasticlala. |
Yungbitz:Your entre lineage are fools. Next... |
menxer:Patriotism seed only thrives on a ground that's enriched with manures of justice, fairness, sincerity of purpose, inclusiveness and upholding basic tenets of democracy. But this administration, going by its selective judgment and persecution, vindictiveness, economic and political missteps, policy summersaults etc has not encouraged many citizens to believe in Nigeria's future. That's the truth unless we just want to continue with the voyage of pretence which we have always embarked on since 1960. |
