The way and manner churches are being scattered all over Nigeria is mind boggling and reprehensible! How many churches are there in America, Canada, United Kingdom or any other nations that are developed and organized? Go to Lagos and Ibadan everywhere is full of churches of all kinds, yet Nigeria has nothing to show for all this illogical proliferation of churches; empty barrels make the loudest noise. |
architectB: let me try to respond 2 just a few of ur message according to their numbers in ur post:Stop being cynical! Just believe what you like: Christianity, Hjnduism, Bhudism, or whatever. Take a cue from this piece of advise and don't be a jackass |
rigormortis: Some ppl don't even know the origin of their religion. May 72 virgins fvck you to deathWill you stop this nonsense before it spirals down the ugly phase! The holy Prophet Muhammed (s.a.w) never "lived" in a cave. What happened was, due to the evil ways of his Meccan brethren, he was always made uncomfortable by all the vices around him such as the polytheism, killing of girl-child, goring and immolating of animals, drinking of blood for rituals, blood letting, usury, human sacrifice, and etc. Thusly, he would take his wife, Khadijat, and other members of his household for what we modern folks call picnic today, to the base of a mountain just on the outskirts of the city. There they would eat and conversed together as family. But the Holy Prophet was always concerned about the society in general; he would walk around alone deep in thoughts. He would retreat further by climbing the mountain up high. There he could see the entire city of Mecca - he would reflect on those evil things going on there. There was a cave somewhere on that very mountain - he would enter into it and continue thinking: "There must be other ways of life than what these people engage in. There must be a better practice than polytheism, idol worshiping, frequent internecine wars and etc." Each time he took his family out for "picnic" at the mountain he would climb it and retreat to the cave for more spiritual reflection; he was always looking for an answer to what was going on down there in the city of Mecca. Until one day. The arch-angel, Jubril (Gabriel), emerged, and, as they say, the rest is history. So, please, stop this your stupid insinuation. The holy prophet was never a reclusive weirdo - he was a family man who only thought that there should be a better way, a Godly way, than what his people were used to. And the answer is Islam. Get over your Islamophobia, and stop wanking off over imaginary "72 virgins" because it will only darken and corrupt your mind further. A mind is a terrible thing to waste! Do the right thing by staying in school. |
Every blessed day across the Yorubaland, the Ibos can be seen running helter- skelter with pans in their hands entering into millions of bukateria where barrels of amala and red oily soup are served. Even their forefathers, Azikiwe ate it in both Ibadan and Lagos, Ojukwu ate it in Lagos, while Achebe ate his own when he attended the University of Ibadan. So, I don't know why the new generation Ibos are calling the Yoruba "o.fem.anu" when the whole world knows they eat our food also since millions of them find sanctuary in Yorubaland. I think the hypocritical Ibos are deceiving themselves. |
IYA NGBALI: God bless you my man I owe you 7 rounds of totoLOL! Thanks. When and how can I redeem them? |
You Ibos are nothing but kafirs. You're hypocritical, delusional and self-centered. When the Hausa/Fulani were repatriated back to their lands you were all here rejoicing. I remember vividly. Also, when the Yoruba were sent back to their hometowns you Ibo rogues were here on nairaland mocking them. However, when it's now your turn to feel the heat, you started invoking tribal discrimination. As someone said, you're indeed a bunch of cry babies. No be by force to live in Lagos and Ibadan. Leave. Just leave today! Nobody is fighting to keep you in Nigeria. Instead of you goats to hold your Non--performing misgovernors responsible for your unfortunate and nomadic lifestyle, you're here fighting to be addressed "Lagosian Ibos". You all should be ashamed of yourselves! I have never seen anyone as shameless as you Ibos. Go back to your hellhole in Biafra. Enough is enough, go back home. Stop the Exodus to the Yorubaland. Your home is in the East! |
]“Most of the beggars are from neighbouring states and I can assure you that they will be removed from the streets and repatriated back to their respective states,” she said.By the above, at least we know those tribes that are Rivers state's neighbors; they are the Biafrans - mainly the parasitic Ibos! Now, where is the useless MASSOB? Where are those unfortunate, chest-pounding Ibo miscreants who were ranting emptily and threatening fire and brimstone? Why aren't they now railing on the riverine folks as they did to us Yoruba? Must you people live in Ibadan and Lagos? Why is it a must for you Ibos to live in our prosperous Western region? Why? You ought to know that we don't want you any longer. We don't like you - we never liked you! So, get the dock back to your lands in the Bight of Biafra. Na by force? You all should be ashamed of yourselves! |
PeterKbaba:Wow! Thanks, PeterKBaba, for this video of our beloved Yoruba city! Damn! Now the whole world can see why the Ibos, who are Biafrans anyway, are gong-ho and fixated on the Yorubaland. Oh, my God! Ile Yoruba ko ni baje lai lai; Ilu Ibadan ko ni baje lai lai, Ilu Eko ko ni baje lai lai(Amin, Ase Edumare). We really need to be proactive, so as to quicken the dislodgement of the Ibos (Biafrans) from the entire Yorubaland. The time is now if we want the posterity to judge us well, we must eradicate the ibos from our lands. Please, all Yoruba people must watch this video of "Lagos: Africa's Big Apple." I was so captivated and smitten with more love for my Yoruba heritage. This is wonderful. Also, I love the fact that no Easterner was permitted to feature in the video. Talk of "Ibo lagosian" yeah, right! What about Ibo otukpo? |
Well done, Yoruba warriors! May our forefathers continue to guard and guide us all. Amin. Kudos to @kulyie, @midastouch1, @yetunsbay, @shymexx, @LBT, and etc. You see, circa 2005, when nairaland.com was still in its infancy, the Ibos quickly found a convenient outpost where they insulted and derided the Yoruba; it was too much and nothing was done about it (maybe because @seun was struggling then to make his website popular). He and his fellow Yoruba couldn't do anything -- they were just sitting there like goons and faking what @shymexx would later coin as "pseudo-sophistication". The Ibos were raving mad across the forum while having what seemed like an eternal field day! Then, gbam! out of nowhere came the succor that the Yoruba race rightly needed. A brave Yoruba e-warrior by the handle of @ajisafe, suddenly emerged in the same Yoruba spirit of General Benjamin Adekunle's and waylaid the Ibos in a cyber sliding tackle and ended up digitally finishing off the Ibos. Man! The outcry was unending -- the Ibos cried blue murder and went behind the scene to lodge bitter complaints to @seun. This war became so e-bloody to the extent that eggheads such as @jakumo would take pity on the Ibos by appealing to @ajisafe to forgive the Biafrans! However, I guess @seun didn't want to lose his teeming Biafran visitors, so he had to ban the galant e-soldier, @ajisafe, for life. Well, years later, the hitherto docile, slumbering, and "pseudo-sophisticated" Yoruba intelligentsia have been aroused and taken up the gauntlet from where @ajisafe left it. We now have able Yoruba e-warriors like @dayokanu, @aigbofa, @shymexx, @desola, @prof. Corruption, @iyangbali, @ekoile, @ilekeidi (Texas cowgirl), @olaheavy (yours truly), and etc. The coast is now clear -- the sleeping giant in Yoruba people is now awoken and there's no going back; the pathetic Ibos are having it up in their a.r.ses, noses, mouths, ears, pvssies, and anywhere there's a hole in whatever is left of their ignoble and smelly carcass. Thank you, Omo Oduduwa. |
dayokanu: ^^ Ola,Ok |
rodbel: You're welcome brother to the state of many nations....... Help us develop lagos more.Exactly, before we pounce on them a la Boko Haram. But we still need to be very careful -- these Ibo folks' ambition is devilish. You can see it written on their foreheads. They want to take over the Yorubaland. They make no bones about it -- it's been their modus operandi from the get go. That's the reason why their forefather, eleti gbogada Nnamdi Azikiwe, left his accursed Ibo cave to contest an election for the position of the First Indigenous Prime Minister in our Western Region. Just imagine that charade - an Ibo man from the East coming to become the first Premier in the West? These Ibo people are the most dangerous in Africa! I think we need to wake up and smell the coffee; it's time we eschewed the "pseudo-sophistication," in @shymex's word. General Benjamin Adekunle's biafran era phrase readily comes to mind: "...Sorry, but, I have to kill the Ibos." |
shymexx: 144 Nigerians were deported back to their various states from Abuja last week. No one said nothing about it. Abia or Imo (I can't remember which one of the two did it) deported people between the two states. No one said anything. Northerners and other Yoruba's were deported from Lagos. No one said anything.First off, I remember you came on me so strong sometimes in 2012 when I viciously attacked these same folks (Ibos) you just wrote about. Anyway, that being said, I share in your frustration. That's exactly why I've been crusading for so long on nairaland against the Ibos. Your observation concerning "pseudo-sophistication" facade that some docile Yoruba people are putting up is well-taken. However, personally, I blame Christianity as a religion for the complacency of our people. I know, from the point-of-view of a Muslim, this assertion may not go down well with you and other Yoruba Christians. You see, the Yoruba Christians are do fanatical, emotional, and narrow-minded when it comes to their faith. The dangerous influx of the Ibos to our Yorubaland was necessitated and perverted and even encouraged by the subtle complacency of the Yoruba Christians. Anytime there is the need for us to move against the Eastern foreigners, fellow Yoruba who happen to be Christian will readily come to their rescue. They're the ones that always come to an illogical conclusion of: "ah, leave these people alone now. After all, they're not sitting on your head!" And this their bullcrap is predicated upon only one thing -- religion. I am from Ibadan -- and growing up in Ibadan was fun. There were no Ibos conspicuous enough to be seen anywhere in Ibadan. It was only the Hausa/Fulani wayfarers that were ubiquitously abound. And we loved it that way. Then after the war, the Ibos all left their Eastern abode en masse, and inundated us with such an unrelenting mass exodus of their people. It was mind-boggling for want of a better word. Look at Ibadan today! I mean - it's an eyesore. Ibo folks full ground well well. Our people actually wanted to do something about this anomaly before it went out of hand, but our fellow Yoruba who happen to be Christian (whether myopically or ignorantly) failed to see the looming danger until it became an albatross on our neck. The Ibos are so smart -- they studied our way of life, learnt our language (Ibos even speak fluent Yoruba better than some idiotic Yoruba who have given in to the "pseudo-sophistication" mentality), imbibed our culture, ate and perfected the preparation of our foods even though they hypocritically deride us as "oily soup ones", took advantage of our sound and free educational scheme. But, in the end, the Biafrans will still insult us and call us cowards for accommodating them and not slaughtering them like the Hausa/Fulani do to them in the North. You all know that the Ibos respect the Mallams up North! It's no longer secret that the reason that the Ibos are scared of the Mallams is because they butcher and roast them (Ibos) like suya. Yoruba are I inappropriately tagged cowards because we don't maim and kill them. Just like Louis Farrakhan opined that the white man only respects the black man when the black man becomes violent and meets force with force. The same thing is true here: the Ibos will only respect the Yoruba (Ibos' benefactors and hosts) when and only when we are ready to violently rail on them without the ridiculous interference from the hypocritical Yoruba Christians. My five cents. |
kreami diva:They can't jail him for sleeping with the girl; she's sixteen and 16 is the age of consent in Britain. However, the teacher can only be censured for abusing his position of trust as an authority over the teenager. As for sex, heck no, he won't be imprisoned. That's the law in Britain. |

1oracle: So Lagos is now another man's land not part of Nigeria again. Those who shout One Nigeria are the same people who is making it impossible for us to be one.How many times have you Ibos contested and wrestled Lagos State with the Yoruba. First, you called it a "no man's land." Second, you referred to it as a "Bini Settlement." These days, it is either you lay a claim to it by saying that you're 95% of Lagos State or threaten that if you leave Yorubaland heaven will fall. In the past, you had dared the Yoruba to try dislodging you from Lagos and see what would happen. Some of you even called us cowards and threatened to drive the Yoruba into the Atlantic Ocean or the Republic of Benin or flank us in between them and the Hausa/Fulani from the North. My questions are: if you owe 95% of a particular place how possible for the minority to now deport you back to the East? If you're that strong a band, how would it be possible for Raji Fashola to close down Ladipo market and arrest your thugs from MASSOB and MEND for months while you did nothing but cried of hunger and exaggerated your daily losses? If truly Lagos is not Yoruba land, how come the Bini of Edo have not joined you in your madness to win back "their land" or "no man's land"? You Ibos can never win this battle - the best thing for you to do is to go back to your Ibo land. Period. |
Lagosbabe1: Dont mind them lolHonestly, it 'll be nice to see both Ladipo and Alaba markets demolished and rebuilt - afterwards redistributed or reallocated with the Yoruba traders getting most of the stalls. There's nothing unfair about this. The Ibos would do the same in their land. Also, the Trade Fair must be reallocated to favor the Yoruba - I mean what I am spewing because I am a straight shooter. IIt is ridiculous for our people (Yoruba) to be suffering in their own land. This is too much - it's time for the Ibos to go back to their land and develop it. In the early to mid-'70s, the only tribe that was prevalent or ubiquitous in Yorubaland was the Hausa tribe. They were seen everywhere in Ibadan and Lagos and other cities and towns in the Western region. We were cool with them - no fight or war, but the insignificant and occasional skirmishes every now and then. Importantly, we never told them to go back to their land. What I am saying is that the Yoruba had never said to the Hausa people "go back to the North" with the same fervor, religion, persistence as we are wont to mete out to the Ibos. With the exceptions of the free-for-all fights that happened in the mid and late "90s in Sagamu and Lagos during the murder of MKO Abiola, no other major frcacas between Yoruba and. Hausa. What does that tell us? It means that we Yoruba are "cool like that" with the Hausa. Why is it that the Ibos are the only tribe in Nigeria that Yoruba people have problem with? Go figure. |
victorazy: I thought your talking about Islam why mentioning Igbo leaving Housa? Why is it that you Igbos are annoyingly testy? You hate being talked about, but you're quick to comment topics that have nothing to do with you! If the debate is on other ethnic groups and religion, e.g. Yoruba and Hausa/Fulani, and Islam, you Igbos will readily jump in and begin to insult them. However, nobody must mention Igbos or say anything about them. I think the guy didn't mention Hausa/Fulani simply because (apart from them being mostly Islamic) he knows nothing about their culture. And he probably used Igbos as an example because the majority of you live and search for your daily bread in Yorubaland -- so, the guy is aware of your culture because you RESIDE permanently in Yorubaland! |
@DemDem, you're doing a good job here. Keep it up, man. @Jarus' piece is also a blockbuster! Now I know why he's highly respected on this Website. Salaam, bro. Well, over to those myopic Easterners and their 'follow follow' Yoruba christian nitwits, saying two Muslim can't be president/VP. You're all confused bigots! Why did you goats vote for MKO Abiola and Kingibe (Muslims) in lieu of Bashir Tofa and Sylvester Ugoh (Muslim-christian)? You have no choice, punks! When you see good candidates embrace them without bias. Look at it this way, the present political dispensation has more Igbos and other Easterners in the military, ministerial appointments, and other plum jobs, but what good have all these done for our country? None. Even your president, the highly ret.ar.ded Retardeen, is so annoying to say the least. But have you heard any complaints from the West (Yoruba)? No. Why? Because we're not the unfortunate and laughable whiners like you human eaters. Just accept the fact that you Igbos can never be trusted with the presidency of this nation. The current goings-on in Johnaslow's government is a further attestation to what is already an obviou eye opener! Go figure! My take: with Fashola's recent activities (his almost daily negative criticism of GEJ - the just concluded visit by Roaches, sorry, Rochas to him) indicate that he's being readied for the highest office in the land. Methinks Fashola and whoever will surely win - as long as Fashola is the presidential candidate. Even a Fashola-Okorocha ticket will suffice. |
The munguns screaming about the "Six-DayWar'' are really dunces. It was the US that beamed its satelite onto the numerous airbases across the Arab countries thereby guiding the evil Jewish Airforce to carpet bomb and render the Arabs' jets useless - affording the devilish Jews air superiority. The so-called 'Isreal' is nothing without America! Let the US stop the annual 10-billion dollar cash and military aids to the lazy, stinking animals and see if the damned thing will not cease to exist within months. Ordinary Hisbollah disgraced the fools and whooped their a.rs.es when they engaged them in ground combat. I implore them to make that mistake of bombing Iran just once and let's see if it will not be deadly for the illegal land grabbers. |
Frostyzone: The reason is pretty straight forward. The so-called 'Isreal,' which was founded illegally by the useless Britain in Palestine, is an evil jewish state, so their half-blind christian eyes see nothing sensible but partiality. And, to those munguns taunting Iran by rating Isreal higher, you're all nincompoops. Just an organization, Hibollah, wooped their ars.es. |
PehaKaso: Going thru all d posts on dis thread, I discovered dat Hausa/Fulani muslims are d only ones in support of Iran. Can som1 pls tel me why it is so?And I discovered that only the cannibalistic Easterners and the brain-washed (follow-follow) Yoruba christians are defending the evil Jews - why is it so? |
babyosisi: Folks are saying the pictures are mainly from the university and some are not IbadanI knew this fool would be at the centre stage. Biiitch hates Ibadan with a passion. Last year, here on Nairaland, she referred to Ibadan as a 'glorified ghetto or big village' or some shhhhit like that. I think it has to do with the fact that Ibadan was the residence of most of the eggheads and brilliant heroes who saw to the destruction of Biafra. Or, what else can it be? |
Paul John: ibadanCORRECTION: Largest city in AFRICA Former Capital of: old Western Region, old Western State, old Oyo State, and the present (new) Oyo State! Population: I am quite sure that the 3-million estimation was wrong. Given the fact that Nigeria isn't known for accurate census and record keeping/taking. Some fools wasted our resources on the so-called 2006 Census and the previous ones -- they would throw the 'official' figure out the window and come up with a bogus result. I can never accept that Nigeria's population is 160-million. I think it's higher than that. If an accurate census is taken and the correct figure is submitted, I think Nigeria's population is in the neighborhood of 300- or 400-million. And, I don't think the North (Hausa/Fulani) are the majority. I think the Yoruba folks are the majority - although we don't make noise. We don't do 'gragra' until someone puts his/her finger in our mouth - then and only then shall we BITE it. Hard! And it will then result into a case of: ''I did not choose this war.... So, I have to kill the....'' |
boborosky: whether it makes sense to you or not does not change the fact. The correct expression is.. You can not have your cake and eat it. British. You can not have your cake and eat it too. AmericanNoted. I'll surely make amends - if it's indeed a 'common mistake' (don't mean to be cocky, though) - I'm also guilty of this particular one. Thanks.. |
Wallie: "Each other" is not wrong...here's something you can work with:I didn't say 'each other' is wrong. I said that using 'each other' in lieu of 'one another' when making reference to MORE THAN TWO PERSONS is a 'common mistake' in English. Simplistically, your example of 'between A and B' actually proved my 'theory' to be right. Or, what do you think? |
vivichocs: you cant eat your cake and have it instead of you cant have your cake and eat it'cant' instead of can't! ''You can't eat your cake and have it'' makes a lot of sense to me. How can you possess 'something' after you have expended it or used it up? Well, it will take more than a miracle for you to do so. |
And I cringe when I hear folks say 'each other' instead of 'one another' when referring to more than two persons. Also, I feel like kicking some dullards' behind when I see: 'its' instead of it's. 'cant' instead of can't. 'dont' instead of don't . 'what of' instead of what about. |
