I still insist on something, most of us living in abuja drive ourselves to and fro, but I would tell you this -the distance between the area 3 junction and the newly *being* constructed bridge is like traveling from gwagwalada to the city centre, people have excuses not to cross using the pedestrian bridge, now look at this other example between karamajiji and khuchingoro they built a pedestrian bridge which it neither for that any of the towns, have you ever passed that expressway, around 10/11pm where the bridge's are situated its stone black, dark and when some *unfortunate few* pedestrian's do climb the bridges even in broad day light O! pick pockets, bag snatch er's and other molesters, just wait for the most vulnerable targets and do their thing-please N.B that's not to mean, I am in support of this in discipline, but I think the solution to this, mostly is -not giving people the room to break the law or behave lawlessly in the first place, by reducing the possibility of them doing what is wrong even when they know what is right.

Look at the larger picture people and look at the game being played love them or hate them, this is chess *politics* a game of intellectuals OBJ was the only good player - look very well at the options available, two performing available governors and another in waiting from the south south edo state, subsequently, their are other patterns I see panning out and a change from the norm, to performance Hmmm! I like where this is heading you want a igbo president Okorocha, you want yoruba president fashola, you want a south south option oshimole, this looks quite nice - no word President Obama is backing APC as a viable option. Riding on buhari acceptability in the core North which no body can get.

Very pathetic how children born yesterday and were not even in existence in 1983, when their was a coup that put Buhari in power talk about, what happened in the 1960's? - have you ever considered that, maybe their was a coup prior to this that killed tafawa balewa, and so many things were happening under ground artillery were being moved, and clandestine meetings taking place carried out by some south eastern soldiers emeka ezeogu and Co., and they, in their supposed *naivety* felt they were also cleansing the military or possible traitors, because from where I stand a civil war broke out in nigeria later, because of some patriotic igbo soldiers coupled with the fact that power in the military would have shifted in favour of the tribe that had the highest amount of personnel in the military - not forgetting that the military is autocratic *order from above* a LT. Col gives orders and a useless LT. Is standing against it, secondly how can a man lead a country without blood on his hands check the bible the greatest leaders had blood on their hands, but they were favoured by God, in my place they say- he who has not built a bungalow how can he build a 3 store building *word for the wise* look at the mess the man at the helm of authority now has put this country and is still putting this country *Rubbish*

@luvi I need your help O! Before my technicians would destroy my car!!! HELP -
Let me start like this, I make it a habit to change my ball joints 1ce every 2 months max 3mths, because- I don't want any disappointments, I changed them over the weekend and everything was fine except I was hearing this sharp noise (thou very faint) of a needle rubbing iron, I complained, but they said their was nothing wrong, until yesterday lo-and behold my greatest fear my ball joint nut, flew oFf just like that and my car parked well -right in the middle of the road, some road side mechanic worked on it and I moved it home and returned this morning to my mechanic, they de-assembled and reassembled the arms and legs of my car, I told them I was going to test run the car myself, believe you me I put the gear in R, and my car and tyre had not done a 360 rotation when the shaft pulled off, they insisted they tighten it well and they had to re-jack the car and run it while hanging it was vibrating as if the engine seats had cut so they changed the gear seat remaining one which they could loose that was extremely stiff, nah so O! I allowed them to test drive the and when they came back they said it was not going to affect the car, but lo- and behold the more I increase speed the from 0-40mph the car vibrates; as if the tyre is bad, 1. I hope its not the shaft cups, what. Should I tell them to look out for thanks.

This is a very serious issue * in my words the government is looking for how to reduce the population of Nigerian's, by purposely building pedestrian bridges at miles from where people actually cross the roads* I don't know what the intent is but its quite insane in abuja - for example people cross the roads at area 3 junction, and area 1 roundabout in abuja (Garki), but the government decided to construct and build a pedestrian bridge in the middle of nowhere, between area 1 and area 3, and we know our people they hate doing walking exercise, so they just alight from a commuter bus turn around the bus, and gbam! they hit the express, now who do we blame the architects and surveyors that chose the location or government that don't consider the actual points people cross or people themselves that are lawless, what a situation a tri-parte level of total decadence

Amya: Ridiculous thread!
Ridiculous poster!
Ridiculous commenters!

What I hate above every other thing here in Nairaland is ridiculous threads like this that almost always make the front page.
*please come up with something that is better- and its his own point of view*

Thread that just aim at robbing Nigeria of the little dignity it has left. If Oyinbo castigates Nigeria, you mumu son of the soil will also castigate. This is always spare headed by those diaspora Nigerians that want to use every opportunity to justify their migration to other lands.
Someone was walking along the streets of abuja and taking up close and personal pictures and you say it was spare headed by a diaspora(n)

Change policies my A**! Who is fooling who? Who is the government? Are they not Nigerians? Can you honestly say you would be different when you get up there to the helm of affairs. How has any of you running your mouths here tried in you own little way to make a change around you.

By venting their anger on this forum see what is happening to leadership news paper editor and journalist.
Have any of you engaged in community service just because we believe in the bigger picture? Spend our saturdays sweeping streets as volunteers?

Its people like this that flaunt the laws in nigeria don't use tinted glasses and they use it because they think they are above the law yet they are quick to say other should sweep for them - you sabi sweep at all?

Doing good just for the sake of it! We don't do that! Only come to public forums and whine about government and their policies! Like you'll do better when you are in power. Charity begins at home. The mindset of the average Nigerian is the mindset of the government.

*This particular phrase is a lie* the average nigerian wants food and peace a clean environment- what is AEPB doing apart from arrest bike riders and seizing food vendors items without proper re-orientation.

That change we so seek starts with me and you. Till we change our personal orientation, we will be stuck In this rut till eternity!

Phewwwww!!! I'm exhausted! I'll be back.
Some people talk for the sake of talking looking for where to pass the bulk of failure -this one is a typical example- if the grass root people change and try to enforce their change it would be termed a revolution and people would be killed for nothing sake - but if the leaders change it would be term a wind of change what orientation are we changing when all our leaders need to do, is change theirs?
Romance › Re: How True Is "Once A Cheat, Always A Cheat?" by olajide8(m): 4:06pm On May 01, 2013
DnigerianPrince: I recently met this girl and she was honest enough to tell me that she cheated twice on her ex twice shocked

First time with a guy, second time with another. They eventually broke up and she attributed it to her ex finding out and breaking up with her and how she was also done, according to her, she wasn't getting enough attention, care and love and had been long over the relationship before it waas over. As a matter of fact, the guy has been begging her to come back which is kinda weird considering she cheated so, might be true about the neglect.

To be fair to her, it was a long distance relationship (same country) and the guy never for once attempted to see her for over 3 months.
She was very honest with me about everything and i'm not sure many girls will do that.

With that said, this girl likes me a lot and seems to be in love with me, i'm falling for her as well and she's said the ball is in my court. My fear is that i've been a victim of a serious infidelity in a relationship, my ex cheated on me which was shattering and left me scarred sad sad

It's been a long time since that and i've pretty much been single since my ex and i'm long over it but is this the right way to get back in the game? For those hwo have cheated in previous reltionships, do you see/find yourself doing it again?

Serious reponses only
Sounds very familiar, don't worry wait till when she grows older and I can bet this she would have so many alternatives that you would be just one of them begging to marry her and she wouldn't make a decision out of confusion

I guess you don't know some of them would be collecting some terminal benefits, that is if they get theirs and manage well, they would be able to make something out of it, moreso they are good for nothing- the harm they are doing, because they have the right to enter/work on transformers, is more then the harm, lack of distribution lines/channels do!!

Its now about GEJonathan, and the baga crisis, now the military are being blamed woe betide the devils in this country- so also mixed with LG polls in Edo state which has pasted, scrapping of JAMB and NECO- hmm - The BUDGET- has been passed, but still is not being implemented by the executive, because GEJ wants his supplementary passed first *wicked person*- I guess, we that have to pay salaries, are being the worst hit, we don't produce consumer goods (FMCG), real estate business is being affected the manufacturing industries is shrinking, the capital market is only being held together as a result of *FDI*, inflation is reducing but businesses are closing, again salaries are being paid to those in government employ, corruption is sustained there, while those in the private sector/practice(s) the standards are being raised, the bar/targets are more salient but they are higher.

Rossikk: Not one single point you mentioned here has anything to do with the op's question.
Influence is not just derived from swag its derived from a number of variables, and yes since the question was a blanket one a blanket answer would be best provided if the question was in international relations who has the most influence then Nigeria, in sports who hs the most influence Nigeria, military poweress who has the most influence, but if he had asked the question about who had the most power economically its S.A, and every one should have a right to subjective responses based on his/her understanding of the comparism.
Politics › Re: South Africa Vs Nigeria: Which Is More Influential In Africa? by olajide8(m): 12:14pm On Apr 04, 2013
Sometimes I think about it myself
1. Power- S.A has power nigeria is struggling with it
2.Security- nigeria is better its just the level of in discipline in the NPF compared to their south african counter parts
3. Corruption is openly brazen in the nigerian system S.A they still have a bit of shame
4. Nigeria gained independence b4 south africa *i think*
5. Nigeria has a larger population when compared to S.A which makes us a good market for products that's why shoprite is in nigeria for our girls to go and take pictures at *LOL*
6. Life can be started easily in south africa, in nigeria nah herculean task.
7. Level of education when compared against each other nigeria (0) S.A (10) practically oriented.
8.Tourism nigeria is below par S.A is way better and neater.
9. Intelligence nigerian's get brain S.A they are using their brains to walk aand they don't have manners a majority of them are rude.
10.Accommodation - nigerian's are more accommodating, S.A are very hostile.
11. Small arms are all over S.A, nigeria nah only thief and official armed robbers *govt officials* dey carry gun
12. The judicial system in S.A is better then that of nigeria
The list is getting longer, I guess these are the antecedents that determine who is more influential, no be for mouth O!

Politics › Re: How Can We End Corruption In Nigeria: From Top To Bottom, Or Bottom To Top? by olajide8(m): 6:10am On Apr 02, 2013
If you try and fight corruption from the bottom it would be termed a revolution, and bros head go roll soldiers would kill people for free, but if u fight from the top, it would be called the wind of change e.g during the fuel subsidy protest * a protest against corruption* soldiers were deployed to all the streets of major cities, but when Gen., buhari were in power it was called the war against indiscipline and was called the wind of change - so in my conclusion corruption is better fought from the top
