Hello everyone,
I applied for an EA last two weeks Wednesday. I uploaded my Admission letter, sevis fee and I20. I didn't get any email of acknowledgement, denial or acceptance.

I checked my portal today and I realised that the status of my previous (first) appointment was changed to cancelled. Abeg which way��� laik this.

I am sure your EA has been approved, the mail for rescheduling will still come in, it happens to people last year too, and the outcome came positive.

August 15 is when classes begin while July 15 is earliest resumption date. So do I wait 60 days to earliest resumption date or 60 days to when classes begin to apply for EA.

You can request for emergency appointment by May ending or early June.

Choose any date you see first, and apply for emergency appointment, but you need to have the documents to upload with you such as sevis receipt, Ds-160 confirmation page, I-20, and offer letter. Best

Thank you for the response. Yes, I got the automatic reply when I applied on Friday. I will wait and continue to check my cgi profile. Hopefully I will get a positive response. And Yes, I think Abuja is currently approving EA. Someone got approved yesterday.

The surge inbox is treated based on date mail received, you should receive a response latest Friday. Best.

Yes, she actually got a surge date today, I checked it for her because she is a junior sister going for bachelor's degree, and she was scheduled for 15th December 2021.

Hi @ifedayosol. I have a complicated case. My EA in abuja was postponed. So I cancelled the appointment and applied for surge in Lagos. I haven’t gotten a response in Lagos and its been 3 working days. I will like to ask a question- if I cancel the appointment, pay new MRV fee and select Abuja. Will I be able to book a new emergency appointment on a new MRV application fee?

Just wait till Thursday, and try to be checking your cgi, once your appointment date in the cgi cancelled, you have been granted a surge interview, you just need to wait for their email in this regard. Someone that applied last week Wednesday, got it approved this morning, though her appointment date has been cancelled since yesterday morning. Hope this help.
Again, do you receive the automatic reply when you sent the mail? If you didn't see anything till Friday, you can go ahead with your plan but be sure Abuja is approving EA currently.

The reason for refusal was not your travel experience. I think the VO was looking at your profile...years in the job, and why you are just going for the Master's. I know the angle I am looking at your case may look weird to you, but as "Head" of that position, 10 years in the job, you are mostly at the steep of your career--in that position. Why now? MBA is a degree people get to get to that steep you are currently occupying.

Secondly, you are 36 and your Dad is the sponsor. As "Head" in your current position, the VO probably thought you should have your own money too. That is why I always tell applicants from here that if you have personal funds and you have a sponsor at the same time, state who is sponsoring you and ship in: " I have also saved about $10, 000 over the years and I will use this toward my living expenses."

I was not at the interview with you, but I am not convinced you utilize the time you had to give detailed answer to the VO questions. I would be expecting more answers to his questions. You can reapply, but craft strong answers to the potential questions you'd be asked.

No, university of Baltimore. I mailed the admission counselor about merit based scholarship, she said a message will be sent later regarding that. I don’t understand again, since all these days, and I was instructed to decide within 2 weeks, if not the admission will be withdrawn. Meanwhile, I’m still waiting for the admission decision of other schools I applied to.

Even if you decide to accept their admission now, and you find a better option in the future, you can still deny them to pick a better offer. Don't let this to disturb you at all.

First class information, can you kindly help on the assessment format?

The assessment will be questions ranging from mathematics, physics and Engineering related questions such as maintenance, types of maintenance, gears combination, pulleys questions, laws in physics such as ohms, faraday's laws, motion laws, safety, 5S, thermostat, scavenger, turbocharger, motors starter etc. The nullified virtual test should be a guideline and eye opener to you. If you don't attempt it, ask people who did to give you a clue. Best.

Click on update profile on your cgi, input the application ID number on the required area and submit. Then reprint your appointment page, the new number will be there..

If truly you scored 60%, you should have been invited for an interview and technical assessment. The interview started since on Monday and it will be ending tomorrow, Wednesday. Check your mail (inbox or spam mail) for any invite. All applicants that scored 50% and above were invited. Best

Good evening, I’m finding it difficult filling the ds-160 form. It keeps logging me out after generating the application Id. Once I click retrieve application , it asks for surname and year of birth and I haven’t imputed that cos I haven’t gotten to that section. If I go ahead to input the surname, it will say information doesn’t match. I don’t know what else to do. Kindly help

You will need to restart, until you scaled through that stage before you can retrieve application. Be fast in that stage, use atleast 3-5mins in a page.

NB: if you see that you are taking too long time in a page, click on save and complete later then immediately click to start again.

I graduated from a Nigerian university with a very good result and I wish to further my education oversea. I do not have complete five credits (as per UTME requirement) for the course I want to study in postgraduate. My question is; is O'level result with minimum of relevant five credit passes in WAEC, NECO or NABTEB a compulsory requirement for processing Msc admission Abroad?

You don't need your o level to apply for master in US for example, you only need your BSC transcript, since you had a very good result as you claimed, you are good to go.. best

He hasn't received any sort of funding from them but he is currently looking out for one.

You don't necessarily need to evaluate your hnd transcript for university of Alabama if your both ND and HND are from same school, a friend of mine was admitted this month for fall 2022 and he didn't evaluate his transcripts. Kindly apply for masters... Best

I applied for Fall 2021 but I couldn't travel because my emergency date was denied and I was asked to stick to the regular date given to me by the Us embassy in Lagos which is dated Jan 20th, 2022, I never went for the interview at all...so I immediately emailed my school to tell them my situation and they told me to defer my admission to spring 2022, which have done that and a new I-20 has been created for me, and Spring classes start on Jan 18th, 2022.
Now the question is...I want to still leave the Jan 20th, 2022 date given to me for the interview, and also I want to buy another visa fee and change my location to Abuja and fill a new DS-160 form...pls guys is this possible?

Have you reschedule before? If you haven't, then you don't need to pay another mrv fee to choose Abuja, create/update a new ds160 form, cancel your appointment from the cgi, click on on new appointment and proceed to choose Abuja as your interview location. NB: it applies if you only schedule once.

And my school said I must submit my score in two weeks time to be consider for admission and scholarship. Please gurus in the house how can I go about it please. Thanks in advance

Use zenith bank card, it works fine for paying duolingo.

You can use your previous CGI details, create/update your ds160, pay for another mrv fee, click on new appointment on cgi to schedule, you will actually see where you will input the new reference number of the visa fee.

He has used it once this year when he was denied, so he paid for a new Visa appointment, i don't think he qualifies for an emergency appointment again .

If the emergency appointment tab is available on his CGI portal, then he can use it 60 days to the school start date.

The solution to this has been explained so many times here, update your profile plus bank details and re-upload your documents (nysc cert, school cert, passport and means of identification) submit and and retry the stuff. Hope you are done with physical verification.

I’m considering getting a new passport but I was wondering how do I update my current application which has already been confirmed with this old passport number to the new passport when I get it. Will I have to fill a brand new Ds 160, if so what happens to the already confirmed one or how do I go about this please. Would appreciate a response.

When you get the new passport, you will fill a new ds160 form, then update your CGI portal and put the new passport number and ds160 app number, then reprint your appointment letter.

Edit your profile, put your new passport and also upload other documents. You should be good to go. I still edit for someone today.

I don't understand. Isn't the trip a flight? Why the need to select a sponsor when I know I am the one paying for the trip? I don't understand.

In this context on ds160, trip cost isn't the flight alone but includes other areas of expenses such as tuition fees and living expenses (housing, foods etc). You should put the person covering your deficit, if you have any, but if it is fully funded then the school or organisation name should be inputted. Best.

Before redeployment you must first resume at your place of primary assignment, then discuss with your assigned supervisor or go to your Educational District they will tell you what to do, I have explained this issue before, most of you guys do not extract important points from my post, all you do is to shower abuses on me

you are a great guy, I love the way you handled those insults, it really shows you are mature and know where to venture your energy into. I never see where you claimed to be a npower official but you are trying to give info based on your findings and research, then I don't think those insults are necessary since he is not the minister of humanitarian and blabala, you cannot expect everything he is dishing out to be fact hence, you can only take anything he writes here with a pinch of salt and move on.

When exactly is your interview date? If your interview date falls in September, you can go with the new I-20 for spring.
