Since we are good at writing petitions against our leaders here in the south, then Buhari should ride on appointing pple he trust. Let all his appointment come from kastina all we need is governance. I could recall how Buhari was so passionate about Raji Fosola but today they have killed relationship with their unfounded petition. The best stadium in nigeria today was the handy work of Rotimi Amaechi, even president jonafraud testified to during his campaign at the stadiuma.but today, they have destroyed the man with lies. Southerners are terrible pple. Buhari na your back I dey jare. |

Just because Saraki's wife was summoned by EFCC some weeks back, Saraki wants to bring down EFCC Boss. May he never succeed. Summoning his wife means that they could summon whoever, no matter their status. Instead of giving them support to hunt corrupt officials, he's trying to play pranks because he's corrupt. They're all bunch of thieves, they'll continue stealing all their lives and won't be satisfied. |
There was confusion at the Edo State Magistrates’ courts in Benin, the state capital, on Wednesday, when some soldiers reportedly beat up some officials of the Edo State Committee on War Against Indiscipline. The soldiers were also said to have stormed the premises of the Edo State Magistrates’ court complex on Sapele road at about 1pm and foiled an attempt by the WAI officials to arraign four persons for allegedly beating traffic. It was learnt that the soldiers, allegedly attached to Setraco, a construction firm, drove into the court premises in two Hilux vehicle and threatened menacingly with their riffles, causing policemen and courts officials to flee the court premises to take cover. It was gathered that the soldiers had earlier raided the office of the agency on Ezoti Street and the Ministry of Works, after a woman, who was among those arrested, put a call across to someone. The Chairman of WAI, Mr. David Olukoga, said two officials of the agency, including an elderly man, were hospitalised due to injuries sustained during the incident. He said, “In less than 10 minutes, an Army van pulled up with about seven military men and they started beating everybody in sight, injured all the workers and tried to remove the (impounded) vehicle but they could not, until rescue came. “And when rescue came, we were able to apprehend the woman and the person she called and brought them to the court premises for trial, for harassment, intimidation and molesting government workers. “While we were still at the court we heard that they (soldiers) went to the Ministry of Works, beat up people. And from there, they advanced to the court, chased away policemen, magistrates, everybody and released suspects under trial. Olukoga, who described the incident as disappointing, urged the leadership of the Four Brigade Command to caution the soldiers. “This is very sad and I don’t think we can continue like this. This is not the Nigerian Army we used to know. We are calling on their commandant to call them (soldiers) to order. “They (soldiers) are from Setraco. Action must be taken against this particular issue; we are not going to allow this issue to rest,” he added. When contacted, the spokesperson for the Four Brigade Command, Captain Jonah Unuakhalu, said he would get back to our correspondent. But he was yet to do so at the time of filing the report. http://www.punchng.com/news/soldiers-batter-edo-wai-officials-sack-magistrates-free-offenders/ |
Well that is all nicely put and indeed a powerful statement of intent. The problem here is the police service commission hasn't come out with a clear template on who and who amongst the numerous Nigerian VIP's would be entitled to have police security or escort. So the question of a team that will enforce compliance with Mr President's directives would be premature and a waste of time and amounts to the usual eye service. Lets us Nigerians know clearly who are entitled and who aren't chances are we as citizens might do a better job of whistle blowing on who are still using police escorts!! |
Seriously,they both look good together.cute couple |

Acting Comptroller-General of Customs John Atte yesterday directed Area Controllers to increase their weekly average revenue from the current N13 billion to N35 billion. According to a statement by the organisation’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Wale Adeniyi, in Abuja, Atte gave the directive at a strategic session of Customs Management and Area Controllers. The meeting deliberated with officers on various areas of revenue leakages and ways to put in place measures to plug them. Atte directed the immediate setting up of anti-corruption seats in all area commands to monitor officers’ conduct and report to his office accordingly. On anti-smuggling activities, Atte directed the Federal Operations Units to intensify their border patrols to bring smugglers to book. He also directed an immediate review of operational procedures to give maximum effect to the ban on all hinterland patrols in the country. “All Task Forces under any name or guise operating in all seaports, airports and land borders are disbanded with immediate effect. “Officers serving in these ad hoc units are to be withdrawn and redeployed immediately,’’ Atte said. Atte also directed Area Controllers to take full control of their areas, adding that they would be held responsible for staff conduct and discipline in their jurisdictions. http://thenationonlineng.net/customs-boss-jerks-up-weekly-revenue-from-n13bn-to-n35bn/ |
It is quite in order, because Obasanjo is not new to such kind of job. He is very much at home in assignments like this. He has perfectly handled similar ones hn the past. In any case the appointment is even timely as it will definately take the shines completely away from the hypocratical corrupt peace committee that has so much brought disrepute and shameless embarrassment to itself. |

A Nigerian actor has on Thursday emerged as the next James Bond, following long-standing rumours that Idris Elba from Britain is in line to replace the current Bond, Daniel Craig. David Oyelowo, who is also a producer, director, and writer played supporting roles in many movies like Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Middle of Nowhere, Lincoln and many more. He however played Martin Luther King Jr. in the biographical drama film Selma, for which he received a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actor (Drama). Although Oyelowo’s performance will be heard rather than seen – in an audiobook, he is currently considered the official James Bond Craig, who used to act 007, is due to step aside potentially in two movies’ time. Oyelowo says he is ‘very honoured’ being considered by the Ian Fleming estate to be the voice of 007 in upcoming thriller Trigger Mortis. http://thenationonlineng.net/nigerian-actor-officially-the-next-james-bond/ |

The Plateau Government has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew in Riyom and Barkin Ladi Local Government Areas following a resurgence of violence there. This contained in a statement signed by Rufus Bature, the Secretary to the State Government on Thursday. ``The curfew starts 6 p.m. and ends at 6 a.m.,'' the statement declared. It stated that enough security personnel would be deployed to protect life and property, and cautioned against actions that could worsen the security situation in the area. NAN reports that the warring Berom and Fulani communities, who only recently resolved to end hostilities, took up arms against each other early this week. The Special Task Force in charge of security in Plateau has confirmed that many have been killed in the past few days but said that its personnel had been deployed to affected areas to restore law and order. http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/news/news/plateau-imposes-curfew-in-riyom-bakin-ladi/106210.html |

Any senator that refuses to support pay-cut should be recalled immediately . they re defecting PDP senators and therefore used to their fraudulent ways of life. There's no difference between them and jonafraud . president Buhari should therefore take urgent steps at getting them out of the chamber otherwise they with sabotage his war against corruption . |
Mourinho needs his brain examine! With this singular action He has lost it completely, you are a Coach for crying out loud, & every coach knows that mistake is part of learning, you make mistake & you learn from it, but you don't dwell on it. A good example is Arsen Wenger on Sunday, he refuse to blame petr Czech for his mistake, even when we all know it was his, or is The so called Mourinho claiming to be perfect? Even with my little knowledge of the game I can not sell the likes of De-brune, Mata, Schrulle & buy Cuadrado, over my dead body. Eva is not the reason for our stale mate on Saturday, the reason is because we lack Alternatives, we lack innovations, & we lack cutting edge. I believe Chelsea is a disaster waiting to happen this season & only time will tell. |
PDP members defecting to APC in Bayelsa state are shame and serious disgrace to Nigeria democracy . they are not discipined and lack principles . had Jonathan won the election would they have detected to APC ? Or have they forgotten their roles against the apc during the campaigns ? Why are people nt disciplined in Africa? My prayer is that God will bless those that made this change in Nigeria possible . i specially pray that the good God shall reward Ashiwaju Bola Tinubu and Rotimi Amachi for their roles, efforts, risks and finances to ensure that this a change became a reality . and to those who voted for Buhari during the election , God bles u all. |

•Four soldiers, one policeman killed in night operation •Arms, ammunition, gunboat seized Fear about the return of militancy in the Niger Delta yesterday enveloped Bayelsa State following a daring attack by unknown gunmen on a military base at Ogbolomabiri in Nembe Local Government Area, Bayelsa State. The gunmen suspected to be militants overran and sacked the Joint Task Force (JTF)/Operation Pulo Shield base, killing four soldiers and a mobile policeman. They struck in four speed boats loaded. The task force is charged with the responsibility of keeping the peace in the state which was notorious for kidnapping, piracy and illegal bunkering. Oil bunkering has long been a major cost to Nigeria’s treasury, which depends on oil for around 70 percent of its earnings. Another mobile policeman went missing after the incident which occurred at 11:30pm on Friday. The gunmen were said to have invaded the base in a coordinated land and water operation. Sources said they ransacked the base and took their time to cart away all the rifles and ammunition of the security operatives. An army gunboat was also said to have been taken away by them. A source who described the incident as horrific said the security operatives were overwhelmed by the number and sophisticated weapons of the attackers. The source said the gunmen operated for over 30 minutes shooting unceasingly. He said: “It was a shooting spree. Though the security operatives were caught unawares, there was little or nothing they could do because of the number of the gunmen and the kind of arms they came with. “Some of the gunmen engaged the military base from the waterways while others were shooting from land. The security operatives tried unsuccessfully to stop them. They paid with their lives. Some few fortunate ones escaped”, he said. He added: “It was obvious that they came for the arms and ammunition of the soldiers. They carted away all the arms and rifles and fled with a military gunboat. “We don’t know the motive behind the stealing of arms in this area. Could it be because of the forthcoming election or could it be a plan to start a fresh round of militancy in the region?” A top security source who also spoke in confidence described the attack as planned, coordinated and executed with the evil intention of stealing and stockpiling arms. He said the action of the gunmen caused panic in Nembe communities. The bodies of the murdered security operatives were recovered and deposited at the mortuary of the Nembe General Hospital. Continuing, the source said:”there is a serious problem in the Niger Delta region. We have been raising the alarm of functional and active militant camps operating in the region despite the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP). “The most disturbing one is this trend of attacking security operatives and stealing their arms. They have been doing this. The one they did in Cross River State was also massive. They are stockpiling arms.” Defence spokesman Colonel Rabe Abubakar blamed the attack on “suspected oil bunkerers”. He said: “The Joint Task Force Operation PULO SHIELD has moved into action to arrest and apprehend the perpetrators of this unpatriotic and callous attacks. “The military will deal decisively with anybody or group involved in this and similar acts of attacks or sabotage on the nation’s economy.” He advised the general public in the affected community to go about their normal business activities, and solicited their cooperation by given timely information to the military or any other security agencies to avert future re-occurrence of the ‘ugly incidence’. The Defence Headquarters also reiterated its commitment to ensuring the protection of lives and property of innocent citizens nationwide. Speaking separately on the development, JTF’s Coordinator, Joint Campaign Media Centre (JMCC), Lt. Col. Isa Ado, said : “We are working on getting the real details. The JTF is on the move to apprehend the hoodlums. We won’t relent on our efforts of fighting criminality in the region.” The Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), Mr. Butswat Asinim, said details at the disposal of the police suggested that four soldiers and a policeman were killed in the attack. He said: “On the 7 August, 2015, at about 11:30pm, four speedboats loaded with unknown gunmen, suspected to be sea pirates attacked the Joint Task Force (JTF) Base, at Nembe Water front, in Nembe LGA, killing four soldiers and one policeman. “The gunmen carted away two HP Guns and other arms from the Base. A combined team of the JTF, Marine Police and the Navy are combing the creeks to recover the arms and arrest the culprits”. A combined military and police team was searching local creeks to find the attackers last night. http://thenationonlineng.net/gunmen-sack-military-base-in-bayelsa/ |
Most times when we walk into big malls, boutiques, supermarkets, we never question their prices. We pay exactly what we see on the price tags and even hand out tips to the staff. But the moment we are out of these shops and want to buy banana, our bargaining game gets off to the roof. Poor widow with 12 hungry children at home tells you banana is N100. She even takes out her time to explain how difficult it was for her to even buy it, how the economy is so tough. But we insist that if it's not N50, we are not paying. Some of us even step back into our cars and make to drive away. But because 'half bread is better chin chin', this woman is forced to call you back and sell to you at little or no gain. In her heart, she cries, she's worried about how she'll survive with her children. She silently reassures herself that 'It's well. God will definitely provide.'' While you happily chop the luscious banana. Take some seconds out and think about this, guys. Am always moved to tears when I see people who genuinely and helplessly hawk petty goods to feed and survive for that day, especially women and children. Please don't bargain hard with small vendors like this. They do business not to buy designer bags, Gucci shoes and designer clothes but to LIVE and EAT for that day and the children share the remaining money among themselves to take to school the next day (that's if there's any left). "He who gives to the poor lends to his maker" SHARE this message and let the CHANGE start from you today. GOD BLESS YOU |
