I often wonder the kind of people we are. We can't even peacefully disagree or agree on something. Must there always be rancor and insults when it comes to politics! We scream 'transformation' yet we cannot even transform our very own attitudes towards others! That some one would post that whoever votes GMB in the forthcoming election will never experience any good thing, calls for people's head to undergo psychoanalysis! Why do some people believe that their position or opinion at any point in time is right? I wonder the kind of 'transformation' these people preach about! May God help us all! |
Your opinion(s) don't count also,fool! |

THE Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 6, Calabar, Mr. Tunde Ogunsakin, has ordered the withdrawal of members of the special squad of the Rivers State Police Command known as C4I from all political appointees. Ogunsakin said the directive became necessary after allegations that members of the C4I police unit were being used for a plot to frame some individuals. He also instructed the C4I Unit of the Department of Operations not to make any deployment without the knowledge of the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Dan Bature. It will be recalled that the Peoples Democratic Party in the state had raised the alarm over an alleged plot by the All Progressives Congress in connivance with the C4I to frame some individuals. Ogunsakin, in a statement on Sunday, argued that the withdrawal of members of the police unit would make more policemen available for the provision of security during the forthcoming elections. “The C4I Unit of the Department of Operations must continue to operate as a formation of the Rivers State Police Command and in that light must not take any action or make any deployment without the knowledge of the Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Police Command “The Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Police Command and other Commissioners of Police in-charge of Akwa-Ibom, Cross River and Ebonyi states are ordered to immediately withdraw all officers attached to political appointees in line with the directive issued by the Inspector-General of Police. “This is premised on the fact that the Inspector-General of Police has withdrawn all previous approvals issued by him, as more men are needed by the Police Commands during this elections period. “Anyone desirous of police security should re-apply to the Commissioner of Police for a re-consideration based on the merit of his application and the need for deployment of policemen during the forthcoming elections,” he said. Speaking further on the operations of the C4I, Ogunsakin warned that members of the C4I squad trained in Israel should on no account be attached to any political appointee or any important personality. The AIG also cautioned that the special police unit of the State Command should not take part in any political campaign, just as he directed that police commands in Akwa Ibom, Ebonyi and Cross River states should commence the enforcement on the ban on tinted glasses. “The C4I Unit of the Department of Operations should, on no account, post their officers to any political appointee or VIP. The C4I unit should henceforth stop featuring in political campaigns. “The Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Police Command and other Commissioners of Police in charge of Akwa-Ibom, Cross River and Ebonyi to immediately enforce the ban on the use of tinted vehicles and vehicles with sirens in line with the directive issued by the Inspector-General of Police.” http://www.punchng.com/news/aig-orders-withdrawal-of-special-police-squad-from-politicians/ |
The Federal Government weekend, lamented that the social media is being used as a tool by unscrupulous individuals to tear the country apart, especially in the build up to the elections. Speaking at the send-forth ceremony organised by Galaxy Backbone Limited for Mr. Gerald Ilukwe, pioneer Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the organisation, Mr. Anyim Pius Anyim, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, stated that instead of using the social media and Information Communication Technology, ICT, to drive the growth and development of the country, it is instead being used to create animosity and rancour. Anyim, who was represented by Mr. Ferdinand Agu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Research & Documentation , said, “ It is unfortunate that ICT is being abused. If you go to the social media, you do not see love anymore, you do not see learning anymore, what you see is so much hate and violence.” “We seem not to be aware that the purpose of ICT is one and simple; it improves the human capacity of our nation by giving people the tool and weapons to understand and acquire knowledge and also unite us, for us to build a better country. “If ICT does not serve these purposes, it will not liberate our country from ignorance. We have to use the tools provided by ICT to bring our country together,” he added. Anyim commended Ilukwe and the management of Galaxy Backbone for their efforts at using ICT as a tool to contribute to Nigeria’s growth and development. He maintained that when the objective of the organisation is fully achieved, Nigeria will be wired and poised for greatness. “I am calling on everyone to use the opportunity we have with ICT to make this country a bigger and stronger nation,” he added. Also speaking, Mr. Yusuf Kazaure, the current Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Galaxy Backbone, stated that Ilukwe has during his tenure at the helm of affairs of the company, been able to grow the company to enviable heights. According to him, the company has been able to maintain standards that are comparable with standards anywhere in the world. He said, “Today, Gerald is leaving a vibrant company , with over 4,500 locations connected. He has left an organisation that will continue to grow. “Gerald was able to create a Galaxy Backbone with a culture that strives in a very ambivalent environment. We are a public company that strives like a private company.” Kazaure said since 2007 , Galaxy Backbone has leveraged its mandate to build a common services platform consisting of in-country and offshore VSAT hubs. “From this platform, Galaxy is growing its coverage of public institutions nationwide and currently connects about 4,000 locations spread across various parts of Nigeria representing over 350 Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDA,” he added. Gerald Ilukwe was Managing Director/Chief Executive officer of Galaxy Backbone between September 2006 and September 2014. Ilukwe, according to a brochure by Galaxy Backbone, oversaw the operations of over $180 million, about N36 billion of ICT infrastructure for the delivery of networks, data hosting and application services to customers primarily in the public sector. Continuing the company said, “Ilukwe had the responsibility for the negotiation and execution of ICT projects worth over $145 million through vendor financing and bi-national loan agreements.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/03/polls-social-media-tearing-nigeria-apart-fg/?utm_source=&utm_medium=facebook |
Two loud explosions were heard this evening around 9:56 p.m. in Maiduguri, capital of Borno State. The explosions came the same day that three bombs were discovered at a market earlier in the day. The loud explosions were followed by the sound of gunshots, but details of the specific location of the explosions as well as possible casualties and damage remained unclear. A resident of Maiduguri, Bitrus Wida, told our correspondent, “I heard loud explosions tonight but we don’t know the directions. As I am speaking to you, frightened children are crying all over the place.” Earlier today, two teenagers were arrested at the Monday market after they had planted some bombs, according to security agents. http://saharareporters.com/2015/03/15/two-loud-explosions-maiduguri |
Unknown gunmen attacked Afolayan Simon Awodola, the president of the National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS), a source familiar with the situation has told SaharaReporters. The source, who is also a member of the association, said that Mr. Awodola was seriously assaulted in Benin City, the capital of Edo State. “They used a cutlass to cut Awodola on the forehead after he tried to fight back,” the source said. The victim is an undergraduate student at the University of Benin (UNIBEN) where he is believed to be in his final year. "I understand that the assault happened around 9 p.m. on Saturday in Benin,” the source told our correspondent over the telephone. According to him, Mr. Awodola had been at loggerheads with some officials of the Ondo State government, especially Olumuyiwa Asagunla, the senior special assistant on youth and student affairs to Governor Olusegun Mimiko, and Aderotimi Adelola, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG). “These two officials have been sponsoring a leadership tussle against Awodola because they said he does not comply with orders,” our source said. In August last year, Ondo government officials barred Mr. Awodola from attending public functions organized by the Ondo State governments where student leaders were invited. “Mr. Asagunla has been fighting against Awodola because they accuse him of not siding with the government in power,” our source said. The source said he suspected that the gunmen who beat up the student leader were cultists hired by some politicians in the state. He alleged that the politicians had sponsored factions within the state students’ association, adding that an 18-seater bus the state government had donated to the union was also seized from Mr. Awodola. “Because of the coming elections, Awodola has been having issues with some political candidates in Ondo State,” our source said, adding that the wounded student leader “has been gathering support for some candidates and organizing students and youths to rally round certain candidates.” Mr. Awodola is reportedly receiving treatment at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) where he was rushed. One source said the police as well as university authorities had been informed about the attack. http://saharareporters.com/2015/03/15/gunmen-attack-nigerian-student-leader-ondo-state |
Well this is sure the same method that was used by the old republic burning down building Independent and NITEL, all because they wanted to hide evidence. Now its all because they want to rigg elections, so they reach this point of desperations, no real campaign its all about damaging oppostions, so its campaign and destructions. This campaign has not been fair, with the incumbent using dollars as a carpet of buying endorsment, from anyone who says I hawk, now that is not enough, its burning buildings ,INEC for that matter,no interim no military no PDP na APC. We need to evaluate why the PDP is willing to do anything to throw at the elections, its so sick, extremely vile, despite all, the public is still oPposed to PDP, the reality is PDP is so scared more of their corruption than losing the election. |

It is a pity that Nigerians have condescended so low to even imagine that the first lady is comparable to GMB in anyway. If not for the accidental way her husband was fortunate to become the president who is she for crying out loud? Even in the family circle where does she rank in comparison to that of Buhari. Everybody know Buhari's biological Children, where is her's. Everybody know Aisha intellectual prowess and beauty enumerataldo where is her's. She keep gloating about her husband coming back like a Two By Four shaparanpam and unlimitedly sharing cash and clothes to her sychophants whereas Aisha is quietly building empowering business network amongst muslim women around the north without castigating GEJ. If your so-called first lady has the guts let her challenge Aisha to a face to face verbal popularity contest for the world to see? Rather than blabing against Buhari as if she is a jealous ex-girlfriend. Let her face Buhari's Wife if she can. |
Nobody can sack me –Fasehun Members of the Dr Fredrick Fasehun faction of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) have appointed Comrades Dare Adesope and Odunayo Ogunmoye as President and Vice President of the association respectively. The action, it was learnt, was taken to reject the earlier executives announced by Dr Fasehun last October. The aggrieved members who carried various placards with inscriptions like “Dr Fasehun is no more our leader, O.P.C is tired of bad leadership”, “Dr Fasehun is misleading the Yoruba race, O.P.C must move forward, enough of this stagnancy”, “Give us comrade Dare Adesope as our president, a lot of souls are being wasted without compensation”, “Enough of this slavery, Dr Fasehun has no right to expel any member of O.P.C”, among others, accused the founder of the group of hand-picking executive members, financial misappropriation, lack of rule of law, failure to keep to promises among others. The straw that broke the camel’s back was said to have happened two weeks ago, when one of Fasehun’s executive member, allegedly ordered the shooting of some members which led to the wounding of one Biodun Oyepeju. Speaking to the press in Ado Ekiti yesterday, Comrade Ajayi Edward Olusola, the new Director of Publicity of the OPC reiterated the fact that Fasehun remains the founder and should function only in that capacity. He said the reason for a new leadership was due to the need for young, energetic, reliable and credible individuals to take over from Fasehun who is over 80 and needs to hand over the baton to the younger generation. Olusola accused Fasehun of financial misappropriation, stating that the national secretariat’s land was bought by a former governor of Lagos State and ever since, the land has remained under development and uncompleted. ‘’ For an association of over 20 years, nobody knows where the financial account of O.P.C is”, he said. He described the leadership style as one man government who never cared for the members and he is autocratic in his dealings with everyone which is the opposite of what he preaches as a self-acclaimed democrat. “Once you oppose the decision of Baba, he‘ll say you are expelled. There was never a time when Baba slept, woke up and say let me go and visit the family of members that lost their lives’’, he alleged. Olusola calls on the nation to stop dealings with Fasehun as he is no more the president of the OPC but the founder. Those who attended the press conference included National leader Alhaji Bature Gbada, former Personal Assistant to Dr Fasehun, Alhaji Adeyemi Taofeek, the Ekiti State OPCcoordinator, Dele Olorunfemi and his counterparts from Osun ,Ogun, Ondo and Kogi. Reacting to the news of his sack, Fasheun described Adesope and others as jokers. While describing Adesope and members of his group as renegades, Fasheun said; “Nigerians should not take Adesope and his supporters serious. They have been expelled from OPC since December last year.Is it not funny, how can a tenant say he want to eject his landlord? It is not possible. I remain OPC leader as long as I’m alive.Adesope and his co-travellers are greedy fellows who want to use OPC as an instrument of harassment and extortion, and when reports of their nefarious activities were brought to our notice, a panel was set up to investigate them, and they were found guilty, and consequently they were expelled from the organisation’. Urging members of the public not to take Adesope serious,Fasheun said;’’I urge these impostors to stop parading themselves as OPC members, and if they fail to do so we are going to inform relevant security agencies about their illegal activities’’. http://sunnewsonline.com/new/?p=109137 |
tit:When in an argument with someone, face the issues and not the personality! I can't really explain more to you my dear friend if in the first place, you do not possess the capacity to read and understand, cos I will only be wasting my time! |
An unrepentant PDP Elder asked me if I have watched the documentary, I asked which one, he said the documentary showing how Tinubu owes 75% of Lagos revenue, that Tinubu is highly corrupt. And I asked him, Daddy, does Tinubu have immunity, he said NO. Is Tinubu a spirit? he said NO. Is Tinubu in Nigeria, he said yes. Has Tinubu been invited by EFCC? he said NO. I shook my head, and told him, Sir, I pray never to be like you when I grow up. He became sad and walked away. Instead of a sane government to prosecute an alleged corrupt man, they are busy running wasteful documentary with tax payers money. What a shame! |
As we march to the month of march let the wind of CHANGE begin in your house.VOTE GMB,VOTE APC. |

Soldiers on guard in troubled Southern Kaduna, on Sunday allegedly opened fire on Church workers killing six and injuring three others. The Soldiers allegedly shot watchmen of St. Peters Catholic Church Gidan-Waya area of Jama’a local government who had mounted a temporary stop and search check point in front of their Church as service was on in the morning. According to Christopher, a resident of Gidan-Waya ” It all started when a Soldier who has been in the area went to the Church’s watch men popularly known as Cadet and ordered them to dismantle the temporary check point during the Church service. The boys refused the Soldier’s order on the excuse that Church service was on and that they will do so as soon as service is over. ” But dissatisfied with the explanation, the Soldier went back and mobilised his other colleagues who came and started firing at the local guards. “The gunshot automatically ended the church service. Women and youths immediately reacted to the shooting by confronting the soldiers and as a result one soldier and three other civilians got wounded,” said Christopher. The situation led to a serious clashed between residents and the army personnel. http://thenationonlineng.net/new/soldiers-shoot-worshippers-in-kaduna-kill-six/ |
