Tinubu is the Political Jagaban of Nigeria. If you are not satisfied you are free to take a walk!. Two of his former Chiefs of Staff are now Ministers. One was a former two time governor. Very soon the haters will compose themselves and read the colossus like a book. Use him like a compass to navigate themselves out of political wilderness they box themselves! |
Fashola answered questions posed to him by the Senators that we the people elected. If the Senators are satisfied with his answers then it means that we the people that elected the Senators are satisfied.QED |
Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, has ordered an immediate suspension of work on the airport project going on the outskirts of Ado Ekiti, the state capital. This followed a meeting he held with land owners and farmers who has plantations on the land earmarked for the project at Jibowu Hall of the Government House on Tuesday. An oil palm plantation farmer, Tijani Hakeem, was said to have died of shock over destruction of his plantations by bulldozers mobilized to the site. The Nation gathered on Tuesday that the corpse of Hakeem, who was said to be an Ebira man, has been conveyed to his village in Kogi State for burial. Following the tension generated by commencement of work on the site without prior notice and compensation, the governor summoned a meeting with the farmers to resolve the problem. At the meeting which was also attended by officials of the Ministry of Works and Transportation saw Fayose appealing to land owners and farmers for calm, promising to pay them compensation. governor said his administration has resolved to suspend work on the airport project until December to allow for enumeration of the land owners and farmers to be compensated. He noted that stoppage of work for now would also give plantation owners and farmers an opportunity to harvest their crops. http://thenationonlineng.net/fayose-suspends-ekiti-airport-project/ |
The power crisis in Ghana is set to worsen in the coming days as Nigeria threatens to cut gas supply to the Aboadze Thermal Plant. The development has been occasioned by the failure of government to settle its indebtedness to the Nigerian gas authorities. According to sources within the Power sector, Ghana owes the Nigerian authorities over GHC100million. Currently, Ghana receives in excess of 140 million standard cubic feet per day of gas from Nigeria. The supply, although not enough, has greatly enhanced power supply in the country over the last few weeks. Speaking on recent developments in the power sector, a former Chief Executive Officer of the Volta River Authority Dr. Charles Wireku-Brobbey told Accra-based Joy FM that constant power supply in the country is not dependent on the incoming power barges from Turkey. “The problem for us not the arrival or non-arrival of the power barges. As we speak the government owes Nigeria over GHC100million, which we are yet to settle, and that is the problem that should concern us,” he said. http://sunnewsonline.com/new/nigeria-to-cut-gas-supplies-to-ghana-over-debt/ |

Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Authority (LCDA) is currently embroiled in crisis over the decision of the authorities of the council area to sack 60 street sweepers, who are mostly widows. Incidentally, the head of the LCDA is a woman, Alhaja Funmilayo Mohammed. Mohammed was the vice chairman of the LCDA for six year before her appointment as the interim head. Of the 100 sweepers in the council, she said 60 had to go because they were too old for the job, adding that she planned for a fresh recruitment. It was learnt that she had claimed that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode directed her to sack the widows who were on a salary of N10,000 per month. She reportedly claimed that insufficient fund was also responsible for the directive. When Tribune Online told her that the LCDA allocation in July was N67 million, N77 million in August and N50 million in September, she got angry and said: "Those who reported to you, are they saying I can't fire anyone again. Is what I did beyond my power?" When told that mostly old women do the sweeping job coupled with the fact that they are widows, she replied: "I screened them before sacking them. I want to replace them with those who can work. Other local government simply sacked all of them. I still screened them. They are old women. If you can't come to the council for us to talk one-on-one, so I can see your Tribune I.D card, I don't have anything to say to you again." http://tribuneonlineng.com/female-local-government-boss-lagos-sacks-60-widow-street-sweepers-being-too-old |

The Nigerian Army has banned the wearing of unauthorized Army uniforms, accoutrement and kits by Ex-Students of Nigerian Military School Zaria (aka Ex-Boys) in civil institutions. The illegal practice of wearing Nigerian Army uniforms and kits by Ex-Boys apart from obvious security implications, impacts negatively on the image of Nigerian Army. Army, according to a statement signed by its Director of Public Relations, Col Sani Kukasheka Usman yesterday, says, “It is pertinent to reiterate that wearing of military uniforms or kits on campus by anyone is absolutely unlawful” adding “More worrisome, is the fact that most of the offenders are Ex-students who have deserted the Army, and are not legally entitled to have military uniforms or items within their possessions”. The statement reminded those affected that “the Ex-Boys who left Nigerian Military School from 2012 when the school ceased to be a military institution, are expected to surrender their military uniforms and kits after graduation”. The Army also discloses “that illegal possession of military accoutrement is punishable under sections 109,110 and 251 of Nigerian Criminal Code”. It said it is working with other security agencies to apprehend defaulters/impostors in all civil institutions of higher learning in Nigeria. “The security departments of civil institutions and the general public are also requested to report suspected impostors to nearest Nigerian Army formations or Security Agencies,” the acting spokesman said. In another development, the COAS Barracks Investment Initiative Programme (COAS BIIP) Sensitization exercise is to commence from 5th – 9th October 2015 in all cantonments and barracks across the country. The investment scheme is an initiative of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai as part of his welfare drive for officers and soldiers by engaging their spouses and dependants living in the barracks on income yielding agricultural ventures such as animal husbandry, fish farming, poultry and other profit making agricultural activities. The programme is aimed at empowering them financially and it is open to all spouses, dependants of serving and late Nigerian Army personnel living within the various Nigerian Army barracks and cantonments across the country. “Empowering barracks personnel are expected to contribute to the nation’s economy apart from providing the beneficiaries with a means of sustenance”, the Army stated. http://leadership.ng/news/464961/army-bans-use-of-military-uniforms-by-ex-boys-of-military-schools |

Saraki's false declaration of assets must be fought to a logical conclusion and won, while his pending forgery case(senate rules) alongside ekweramadu should be revisited with sanctions imposed on all the principal actors. This will go a long way in sending a strong signals to other public office holders dat the era of impunity has gone and stealing is now corruption. No doubt, GOOD GOVERNANCE IS BETTER THAN THE BIG CERTIFICATE. Thank God for blessing us with this responsible president. Thank you too my responsible president. May almighty God continue to guide and guard you in all your steps. By the special grace of God, you will live to see the end of all your enemies. |
Technocrats implement the law (do the job) under the supervision of ministers who are representatives of the president in the various sectors or ministries and who also intercede between the legislature and the executive. The president can not all by himself alone supervise activities in all sectors of the economy. The civil service is expected to be neutral in its role and restrict itself to implementing government policies and not the formulation of them. |
• Deflate his tyres, extort cash from him The Koko Master, D’banj is learning the hard way that celebrities can’t hop around town like normal people. Trouble began for the singer last Saturday, at Tin Can Port, Lagos, when he showed up for a video shoot in a Toyota RAV 4 with registration number KJA6158BE. According to eyewitness accounts, as soon as the area boys laid their eyes on him, they laid siege on him and demanded he settle them by parting with cash but before he could speak a word, they deflated his tyres to his chagrin! Obviously aware that there was no point arguing with the area boys who numbered over 50, D’banj had disembarked and they had escorted him to an ATM where he withdrew an undisclosed sum to settle them. However, the area boys refused to disperse and stripped him of his wristwatch and other jewellery including his shoes. They only shifted ground after police men came to his rescue. According to an eyewitness who spoke to Entertainer: “I’m so excited, D’banj came to Tin Can Island to shoot a video and guys saw him. They burst his tires and held him hostage. He had to embrace every one of them and later he took them to an ATM where he withdrew some cash for them and shared among them. I love D’banj; it’s good to be a star.” http://sunnewsonline.com/new/see-what-area-boys-did-to-dbanj/ |
