PoliticsRe: Niger Exports Fuel To Nigeria As Egypt, Algeria Build 13 Refineries by olmoRoc: 10:01am On Sep 09, 2020
As have been mentioned above, the refinery will most probably belong to the thieves bleeding the country's treasury.

In building the refinery there, they've succeeded in eliminating much of the costs of freighting some of the imported petroleum products from Eastern Europe and South America, and creating jobs for the citizens of Niger.

May God judge those robbing our children of their birth right.

Amotolongbo:
It won’t be surprising if told Nigerians own some/many of the refineries in Egypt, Algeria and Niger .

The excuse now is waiting for the Dangote Refinery to commence operations, though it may likely solve the problem of importing the refined fuel, I don’t see it lowering the cost of buying these products cos of the monopoly involved.
To solve the problem, Dangote oil monopolizing the oil market, our 4 refineries must be privatized to viable individuals or corporates who are capable, not like the PHCN privatization.

It is so evident that we are not mentally and morally capable to as a nation run and maintain the operation of our refineries. We invest an elephant-size resources into our refineries, but they churn out sheep-size products. What sense is in that?

Now that the subsidy has been removed from the fuel being imported, let us see what they are going to invest it on
Their pockets of course.

I don't see why they should all be underrated. civil engineering and marketing are the only courses which I feel sould be a no no.

I was advised against studying marketing about 30 years ago, and today, I believe the person knew why he frowned against my proposal.

Civil engineering was my number one choice growing up because I wanted to be like my dad, but looking back today, I thank God I got a P in chemistry.
TravelRe: Types Of People You Meet In A Transit Bus(pics) by olmoRoc: 6:09am On Sep 08, 2020
I can remember completing the transport fare for a guy 2 yrs ago on a trip to Lagos only for him to be one of the people who engineered the driver to stop in Ore to eat. On getting there, I was shocked to see him spending money on food, drink and snacks like someone with plenty to spare.

Will I fall for such trick again? Well, I'll think carefully, and make sure they're not a trader like the man was.

He invested the proceeds in Nigeria, and created employment for hundreds of people.

What about those buying up mansions and apartments all over Atlanta and other States with warm climate, and having fat bank accounts?

Maybe he would have been left off the hooks if he'd invested the proceeds in the States.

Mistakemaker:
Then what do the fg stand to gain by keeping it in the exclusive list and suffering the people.. To me states should be allowed to generate power and supply their states, you will find out some states will have stable electricity
States have been talking about generating power for a long time. Lagos State under thief tinubu had a very bright idea and the power generation ship was supposed to have docked in the waters off the State. The very same idea that's been working effectively in Indonesia was what he proposed.

However, I don't think the arrangements were actually executed before the Canadian company, Enron, went bankrupt (Lagosians, please help!).

And that wasn't an excuse for not enlisting the services of other companies. It was the lack of the will to elevate the electorate who elected him and Lagosians in general.

Similarly, thief lucky igbinedion's first term in office was characterized by the incessant announcement of forging a partnership with Kogi State to enable both states generate power from the white elephant problem steel plant in Kogi State.

However, nothing ever came out of all the recommendations from the various adhoc committees which were constituted.

There have been suggestions about nuclear energy in the past. However, nothing fruitful has ever come out of it.

I was already a teenager in 1984, so I knew what he was like then, and I knew he was still very much the same person in 2015.

Those who wanted a change and voted for him can see for themselves.

They listened to thieves parading a wolf in sheep's clothing instead of concerned citizens.

Na Nigerians sabi.

Have you not heard you mush count your change before leaving a store? The same goes for buying any electrical/electronic gadgets.

PoliticsRe: Transformation Of Nigeria’s Corruption From Outrage To Comedy - Farooq Kperogi by olmoRoc: 8:06am On Aug 16, 2020
Until the students say enough is enough, nothing will change. In our time, there were no cellphones, nor electronic mail. It was by word of mouth that the respective SUG organized anti government protests in most states.

Some people are definitely going to be beaten up and possibly killed by those murderous and trigger happy frustrated animals in uniform that buhari and his acolytes are going to quell the protests. However, victory is sure with persistent and unwavering protests.

Take a leaf from Hong Kong. Even with the prospect of rotting in a Chinese prison, those students and activist have persisted. We might have also read about the Belarusians in the last few days.

We as Nigerians are not only wicked and greedy, we're also cowards. Nobody or nation is going to come to liberate us from the clutches of the so-called elites.

Peradventure there's a successful uprising, would Nigerians be brave enough to say no to the likes of tinube and co who'd want to hijack the running of the affairs of the nation? That was the mistake in 1999. The same old thieves vying for office, and then appointing their partners in crime to hold the destiny and development of the country to ransom.

This is proof that our leaders should stop wasting time, resources, and effort on the ECOWAS if they're not going to be taking Ghana to the ECOWAS court.

What's illegal entry supposed to mean in the community?

It's high time the government start retaliatory moves against Ghana.
