Let’s play a little game, as you read, tick the ones you are familiar with. 1. She avoids you: This is usually one of the very first signs that she is not as available as she used to be anymore. When you ask to hang out with her, its one excuse or the other. Maybe she is just looking for a way to boot you out. 2. She ignores your calls and messages: First, she does not want to see you very often and now it is a chore to pick up your calls. Remember when you started dating and she practically picks up your call before it even rings. This time, it’s the other way round. It could ring for a long time and when you ask her she would probably say, “I did not see your missed call” or “I was busy” etc. Guys, when this happens often, it’s a sign. 3. She starts talking to new guys: Not all guys will notice this, but if you are vigilant, you will notice she will start giving some guys more attention than before. The truth is, she can even tell you herself. While telling you, she will make it look like they are just friends. Don’t get me wrong, in some cases, they probably are but sometimes, she might not want to sugar-coat it. When she starts hanging out with this particular male friend a lot, watch it! 4. She starts asking certain questions: In her mind, she wants out and expects you to read in-between lines. She starts to ask you questions like “Baby, what if we don’t end up together”, “if we don’t end up together, I will date an older guy, I think they can be more understanding” etc. This way, she is probably not thinking of you in her future. So, kindly pack your bags and leave her life. 5. She starts to collect gifts from the toasters: Now, she is ignoring your calls, messages and talking to new guys, you start to see her with new gifts. On a normal day, you know she will not have collected gifts from another guy in a million years. She is saying they are just friendly gifts. Something might be cooking up there. 6. She gets upset at everything you do: She starts a quarrel over the smallest things. That is because she is done with you. 7. She could care less about what you do: You can complain about her, tell her how much you love her from morning till night. It won’t change anything because she really can’t be bothered. Remember, I said you should tick the points you are familiar with in your relationship. If you tick five out of the seven, Congratulations, you are about to get dumped. http://www.metroparrot.net/2015/05/7-signs-your-girlfriend-is-about-to.html |

Rivers state Governor, Rotimi Amaechi says the governor elect of his state, Nyesom Wike cannot accuse him of being corrupt and wanting to probe him because according to him "a thief cannot call me corrupt". Wike had on Monday said in a press release that he will be probing Governor Ameachi once he assumes power as Governor on Friday May 29th. Speaking yesterday May 26th at a public lecture at the Dr. Obi Wali International Convention Centre as part of the activities to mark his 50th birthday which is today May 27th, Gov Amaechi said he had being listening to Wike who should not forget was once his Chief of staff and that if he had no other records at all, he has the records of Wike while he served as his COS. Governor Amaechi in his speech said he had never killed anyone and will never kill anyone for whatever reason. "I have been listening to Mr. Nyesom Wike and I have been trying not to reply him. He has been accusing me of corruption and I have been trying to keep quiet over the issue of corruption. A thief cannot call me corrupt. The first lesson he needs to learn is that he was Chief of Staff to my government. If I have no records, I have records on him. One way we succeeded in moving this state forward was that we refused to probe Dr. Peter Odili’s government, despite the pressure on me to probe Dr. Odili’s government, because at the end of the day, they will not ask me the number of persons I probed, but what I did while in government. This convention centre (built by his government) is one of the testimonies. If we had gone to the Obi Wali Cultural Centre (in Mile One, Diobu, Port Harcourt, now taken over by Sliverbird Cinema), the hall would have looked very full. This hall accommodates 2,200 persons. The convention centre is very big. On top of the roof is a plenty space for big parties, for those who want to organise ‘Owambe’ and there are many conference/committee rooms in the hall. “The road to Nyesom Wike’s father’s house was built by me. A relation of mine was killed in front of Wike’s father’s house, during the 2015 general elections. I am a Christian. I have never killed anybody and I will never kill anybody. Instead of killing somebody, I will give up my ambition. Anybody’s life is greater than any ambition I will have on earth. Nigerians need to be honest and transparent. I recently had a conversation with my first son on the phone and he said he was proud of me, because they cannot write the history of Nigeria, and the transition from one civilian government to another, without including me. I laughed and my son said everybody knew the role I played, the struggle and the fact that my family was torn into different parts and my children could not see me, but that they are proud to have a father like me. That, for me, is my greatest achievement. God did not put me to shame. I will be leaving office as Rivers Governor very proud. President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife (Dame Patience); Nyesom Wike; soldiers and police could not remove me from office. When I pray, in front of me all the time is God. That is why I am always victorious. If you want to fight me, you must first defeat God, which is impossible. Nobody can overcome God. I have won already.”he said http://www.metronaija.com/2015/05/a-thief-cannot-call-me-corrupt-gov.html |

President Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday, said the peace and tranquility currently enjoying in the country is an answer to the prayer he prayed to God in 2007. The President also appealed to all Nigerians including clerics to always pray for the success of the incoming administration. Jonathan, who spoke at the 2015 Presidential Thanksgiving and Inauguration Interdenominational Church Service, in Abuja, canvassed support for the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari and his team to ensure good governance in the country. The President noted that Nigeria as a country had all reasons to be grateful to God, adding that the country since the almagamation had been from one problems to another, and God in His mercy still keeps it together. He noted that when he was about taken the mantle of leadership in 2007, he prayed God to guide him in all his decisions, to avoid plunging the entire country in to chaos. “We are quite please today, in 2007 when I was here, I can remembered what one thing I can remember is that, I asked God that any decision that I am going to take that will affect this nation, that He should guide me in whatever I do. “And today, we are here not celebrate the breaking of this nation, we here to celebrate the unity of this country, we here not having mass service for mass burial. We are here to inaugurate an incoming government. “I call on you to pray for us, because probably today is last day I will speak to you here as a president of Nigeria, if I have reason to speak here again, I will be referred to as former president. “I appeal to you, to pray for incoming government, because they need more prayer than we do, if Jonathan make mistake today, it will only affect me and my family, but if incoming government do it, it will affect the whole Nigeria. “All what Nigerians home and abroad want is good governance,” Jonathan noted, while thanking God for His mercy over the country. He continued, “As a nation we have all reasons to be grateful to God. Nigeria is relatively young, almagamation is just 101 years old, and from independence, 55years ago, to compare ourselves to other nations, who have spent 200 years of existence. “Within this period, we have series of challenges, we had the civil war that lasted for about three years, in the political realm, it has never been that easy. First Republic is just about five years plus, second republic lasted four years, the third republic was aborted half way for about three years president was not elected, and this is 4th republic that we have started in 1999, now is 16 years. “The first 16 years when one party rule the nation and of course they have four successors, Obasanjo to Yar,adua, to Jonathan. And today this transition, as PDP is handling over to conglomeration of so many political parties, APC.” In his message, the Primate, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), the Most Revd Nicholas Okoh urged Nigerians to be patient with the incoming administration, adding that it takes time to build, therefore, people must avoid the syndrome of Hossanah today, crucify him tomorrow. The Primate also warned the incoming government against abandoning ongoing projects started by the Jonathan administration. His words: “We must be patient with incoming government. It takes time to build, unless you do not want to build what we endure. If you want what will endure you need time to build. “They need time to study, to organize, to plan and to start. So, we appeal to Nigerians to aviod the syndrome of ‘hossanah today, crucify him tomorrow’. “I appeal to the incoming government, particularly with the regard to previous investment in all the communities around Nigeria. We pleads with you, complete these projects. Because its Nigerians, who are leaving office, again its Nigerians who are coming into office, its benefit for everyone for old, young and incoming generation.” In his remarks, the Vice President-elect, Prof Yemi Osinbajo joined other great clerics to prayed for the peace and progress of the country. President Jonathan and his wife were presented with an Award of Outstanding Christian Community in Public Service by the President of the Christian Association of Nigerian (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor. http://www.metronaija.com/2015/05/god-answered-my-prayer-for-nigeria.html |

Senegalese-American singer Akon, whose Akon Lighting Africa initiative aims to bring electricity to some of the 600 million Africans who lack it, announced on Thursday the launch of a new "Solar Academy" for the continent. The institution, scheduled to open this summer in Bamako, Mali's capital, will try to give African engineers and entrepreneurs the skills needed to develop solar power. European experts will help supply training equipment and programs. The academy will aim to teach people how to install and maintain solar-powered electricity systems as well as micro grids, "which are really taking off in rural Africa," Akon Lighting Africa said. Africa has 320 days of sunshine a year, the organization said in a statement, so harnessing solar energy is an ideal way to enable those without electricity to get it. "We have the sun and innovative technologies to bring electricity to homes and communities. We now need to consolidate African expertise," said Samba Baithily, who founded Akon Lighting Africa with Akon and Thione Niang. Seventy percent of Africans are under 35, and creating sustainable jobs is vital, the group said, so investing in solar power for the future can help in more ways than one. "We expect the Africans who graduate from this centre to devise new, innovative, technical solutions," said Niang. "With this Academy, we can capitalize on Akon Lighting Africa and go further." The group announced the launch of the academy at the second United Nations Sustainable Energy for All Forum in New York. http://www.metroparrot.net/2015/05/akon-launches-academy-to-help-provide.html |
