onegentleguy:May the Lord continue to bless you for all the good that you continue to share on this forum. Kindest regards, stay strong and remain blessed in the Lord. |
eziokwunwoko:Just type "onegentleguy" into the search bar and click on the search bar. Click on the OneGentleGuy icon and go through all his previous posts when he quoted the stocks that he termed as favourable. Juxtapose the prices of the stocks he quoted as of that date with the recent prices, do your due diligence and decide if it is worth your while to purchase them at their current price. Kindest regards |
emmanuelewumi:A lot of time, those purchases by directors of companies are usually part of their emoluments or bonus pay for performance in the previous financial year. |
veecovee:Haba na! ![]() You know that the institution depicted by a word on the Nigerian Coat of Arms has a negative shareholder funds situation. ![]() |
Harvestock01:I suggest that dividends not paid into the client's bank account should be credited into the client's stockbroking account balance through which he bought the shares, pending when the client is able to access these funds via his stockbroking house. |
Napata77:One major thing you should note is that the United States of America can continue to borrow as much US Dollars they need to service their want as well as destroy it through hiking rates or other Monetary Policies because the United States of America actually prints the US Dollars the World uses and has a firm control over its distribution. Nigeria cannot continue to borrow as much US Dollars as it needs for development and embezzlement because it has no control over the US Dollar and would need to tweak its Fiscal Policies towards generating income or revenue to pay back otherwise it will get into a mega financial mess. |
No matter how low the price of Stanbic IBTC PLC goes, we should expect the Standard Bank Group Limited to purchase as much shares as it can to ensure that they continue to increase their higher percentage holding within the ownership structure. I also think this goal of increasing the percentage holding is one of the reasons for the dividend for shares policy as well as the higher dividend income they distribute to shareholders. |
I believe that the major parties are ignoring the indifferent or undecided voters who have always ignored voting at previous elections. They hold the keys to numbers that dwarfs the active voters over the years. This will be a major deciding factor in the elections. |
Why some people dey vex na? No be Religious Town Hall meeting Peter Obi dey do na? ![]() |
VickeBen:PTF which is the Petroleum Trust Fund was handled by Muhammadu Buhari. Are you referring to PTDF which is the Petroleum Technology Development Fund? |

Dr Peter Odili was a Senior Prefect at Christ the King College ("CKC") in 1967 but he and his Classmates could not write the O Levels Examinations because of the Civil War which had ravaged the Eastern part ofnthe Country. As a result of this, Dr Peter Odili wrote his O Levels Examinations in 1971 and proceeded to pend an additional 2 years at CKC to write his A Levels Examinations. Dr Odili was in CKC from 1962 to 1971 (O Levels) and 1971 to 1973 (A Levels aka HSC). As a result of this, when Dr Peter Odili was in his Upper 6th Form, Peter Obi was in his Junior Year. Dr Odili was a major talisman for CKC and their prestigious Striker in his School days which made him popular across all class levels in CKC. |

BabsO2:I'm not sure that China will allow its currency to appreciate because it would directly impact the pricing mechanism of their goods and services in comparison with other producers of such products and services for the world. Such an appreciation will lead to a decline in demand for their products and a shift towards other competing economies that can produce them.at a cheaper price. The production of goods and services at significantly reduced prices is where I think Nigeria ought to invest heavily to benefit the people and the economy. Labour is significantly cheap in Nigeria and the potential for creation of production and service hubs is massive. |
OsunOriginal:Nobody is too sure about anyone winning because enough permutations and recalculations are being thrown as the days gring on. Whoever thinks the Christians comprising of Catholics, Anglicans and Protestants in Borno Adamawa and the smaller Christian communal parts of Yobe will vote APC or PDP is drinking Kunu mixed with Burukutu. Bauchi is out of the way and will go the way of PDP because of its strong Fulani demographic except for the small Christian Community made up mostly of Catholics, ECWA and COCIN denominations. Regarding Borno, the Northern part consisting of the Kanuris will go the way of APC but the Southern Borno Christians consisting of the Magi, Lassa, Michika Uba, Askira, Gwoza, Limankara and Bura tribes in that State will vote Obi because of the influence of the Catholic Church. Same for the Christian part of Adamawa (Remember that the first Governor under this 4th Republic, Boni Haruna is a Christian). The ECWA and COCIN denominations across Adamawa, Yobe, Borno and Bauchi will go the way of Obi. Kwankwanso and his Shekarau group will takeover Kano, parts of Katsina and even Kaduna though Southern Christian Community in Kaduna will vote majorly for Obi. The battleground will gradually shift to the Middle Belt zone. |
ImperialCovfefe:It's only speculators cashing out on their profits (profit taking) via the appreciation we saw. The fundamental factors affecting the devaluation over the years are yet to be resolved and the CBN still maintains its foreign exchange control policy so we will be back there gradually. A quick review on how long it takes to get BTA or payment for school fees should give you an idea that it's just a pit stop. |
Soludo took over from Willie Obiano ("WO") so the queries should be directed to WO regarding what happened to the funds especially the over USD150 Million invested in Eurobonds at average yields of 10% per annum. This would have fetched USD15 Million per year whilst the principal amount of over USD150 will be repaid at the maturity of the Eurobond. It's cheap blackmail to be ascribing the depletion of the funds to Peter Obi when he handed over to WO and WO handed over to Soludo. Anyway, it was rumoured that WO liquidated the investments and used the funds to build the Airport. |
Britishpea:One of Papa Adebanjo's daughter is Mrs Adeola Azeez, a seasoned banker with over 20 years who rose to the position of the Deputy Country Representative/Deputy Managing Director of Deutsche Bank Nigeria and is currently a Senatorial candidate contesting for the Ijebu Central Senatorial. She also seats on the board of several local and international organizations and has been a staunch supporter and former Chairperson of the WIMBiz organization amongst many others. They come from an influential Ijebu family and her father has a palatial house in Ijebu which had been built several decades ago amongst several others in commercial areas. |
Happy birthday @OneGentleGuy also known as OGG. Wishing you good health, long life, grace and favour as you celebrate the new years ahead in joy and happiness. |
Nigerians should rather celebrate the man who discovered and mentored Tobi Amusam into Stardom. His name is Coach Solaja aka Buka T. He is the Founder of Buka Tigers athletics club in Ogun State. Tobi Amusan was discovered in 2009 while in Junior Secondary School and she started intensive athletics training in 2012 before leaving the shores of the Country in 2014 or 2015. The rest is now history. Tobi Amusan is officially won USD170,000,00 by setting world record worth USD100,000 and winning the event which had a prize money of USD70,000 leading to a total USD170,000. Parents and Children should please help your child and their peers to get involved in sporting activities. Children can combine their academic with sports effectively which a lot of schools abroad desire. With adequate supervision, every child is gifted with unlimited potentials. Sometimes, you may have to engage crowdfunding methods from extended family members and friends to propel them further. Families especially extended ones should set up Trust or Foundations for the young ones and even young adults to help them unleash the greatness in them through collaborative efforts and resources. Like the African proverb says that a Community trains and raises a child. It's time for Africans to harness their collaborative skills and resources for the development of their children. Once a family member enters a fantastic and supportive system abroad legally especially in places like the Canada and some other Countries, it's easier to get others into that system legally. May the Almighty allow the lines of fate continue fall in pleasant places and endear our hearts towards achieving success collectively. |
These Government officials should stop telling lies because the internet and fast access to it has made people to conquer ignorance about any topic. How come they never said all these when Tobi Amusan participated at several athletics meets over the past years? She was at the All African Games, Commonwealth Games and several meets over the years and nobody came to claim her when she even came 4th or won some medals? Tobi attended Our Lady of Apostle School (which I am sure they hardly visit to inspect the facilities there) in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. Her parents are domiciled in Ogun State and it was her coach who helped her leave the shores of Nigeria for a sports scholarship in the United States of America. I think she went to a Community College at first for an Associate Degree before going into a proper University System for a full Undergraduate degree. Through the persistent efforts and support of her local and international coach as well as the schools over there, which provided the infrastructure for development, she was able to get the support from the University to continue her sporting activities and obtain a Masters Degree student at the Postgraduate level of University study. There are a lot of athletic individuals from Ogun State especially the Ijebu area that have gone abroad to several countries through the assistance of their extended family members and good spirited coaches. Some have even changed nationality and religion to get the support they needed. Speaking about facilities, it will surprise many to know that even the Ijebu-Ode stadium is hardly open for these athletes to use freely so where will the infrastructural system needed or adoption come from? Nigerian politicians no dey get shame na. They just keep wasting the capital, natural and human resources of their respective States and the nation. Anyway, the Almighty is greater than these politicians and the Nigerian people especially the youths will get what is theirs even though it may tarry. |
maikbanj:I will advise you to cut off your relationship with her. Financial discipline and management is a major factor in many homes and is the major reason for infidelity, divorce, unhealthy relationships and even death. What makes it worse is how integrated our society has become with the western world which is where a lot of bad habits are learnt. When you get married, you become one and all your liabilities will be fused into one especially when you open joint accounts. Consider yourself lucky that all these came to the fore before you tied the knot. Go and read the Holy Book especially the book of Proverbs and it will guide you on the type of woman you should marry. You will discover that a good and disciplined character as well as someone who is financially disciplined is what every man needs. This woman you quoted in your post will lead you to ruin and destruction if you continue. She has made several wrong judgements which shows she is not remorseful and she will find it hard to depart from such actions. Be warned and heed to your gut feelings. |
yMcy56:Could this surge in the price of Airtel be tied to the strengthening of the USD? It looks like anytime the USD strengthens its position, the stock witnesses a surge. |
Looks like the times are about to get more interesting and some rides in certain markets will get very bumpy or be like bungee jumping. Brace up, US Inflation rate of 9.1% will be bad for the Naira https://nairametrics.com/2022/07/14/brace-up-us-inflation-rate-of-9-1-will-be-bad-for-the-naira/ Our elders and gurus on the platform, what are your views on the ongoing trend especially juxtaposing the performance of the equity markets or local bourse with the local fixed income markets and the international bond market? |
Toluway:Well said my brother but you know how things are in this Country. The only thing a lot of the people who act like Dinosaurs know is the word "Aggressive Change". I think we should set up a Cooperative that will assist people by getting necessary Court Orders to force the Registrars and the Stockbrokers to do their jobs and make the Capital Market transactions easier for people. I have been chasing a plethora of outstanding dividends for some time and a particular Registrar told me they would only accept a signed Share Transfer Form instead of a Banker's s Confirmation of Signature Letter ("BoCL" . I requested to see their Head of Operations and asked for an explanation on why a BoCL was not acceptable. I had to explain to her that a BoCLwas moresecure.and noteworthy than the signed STF they were requesting because it requires physical presence, pictures, signatures which are verified at the bank as well as a Bank account with details similar to what the Registrars have in their records. The Registrars agreed to accept the BoCL after my dogged explanation but they called several weeks later to tell me the signature was irregular. The signature wey I sign on the BoCL is the one I dey use withdraw money from the account o! I went to the Bank to resolve it and the Bank showed me that they confirmed the document to them. We still dey on the matter o! It was when I threatened them to take them to an Arbitration panel or Court that they started behaving like they were concerned about resolving it. I know say na format. |
RabbiDoracle:Oga mi Rabbi Onifa (@RabbiDoracle), Bitcoin is currently trading around USD20,000. The bloodbath in that market is too much o. Do you think if the Federal Reserve should raise the rate significantly higher, there may be more bloodbath? Na wah o! |
sonature1:You guys should stop worshipping these guys. A lot of them wasted a lot of scarce resources from their States on certain bogus projects that became white elephant projects. A good example is TINAPA wherein he was advised to build it in the Lekki Free Trade Zone area of Lagos State to enhance its economic viability and sustainability so that it can pay off the loans the State took to execute it. As a matter of fact, if it had been done that way, a lot of private equity funds would have gone into the project. This idea was proposed to him based on the disposition that it will also generate employment for Cross Riverians in Lagos within the transport and hospitality sectors as well as provide the State with income and cashflow pending when the State could become self sufficient in its economic viability and sustainability projections. Dude declined this part of the advice and we know what happened to TINAPA which has been taken over by AMCON. TINAPA ought to have been in Lagos generating cash for Cross River State and employment for its citizens. |
