Your new passport details wouldn’t match what’s on your CAS and application but you should be able to submit both passports + the new CAS to avoid having to put in another application. And then a cover letter to explain.

Probably best you ask your Uni this question as no one here would know for sure unless this has happened to them.

Do you know if you’d be able to get a new passport quickly?

Hello guys, please I need help. I went for my interview at TLS Ikeja today but on getting there, I was told my passport is defaced because it has a little patch on my forehead which was probably caused by heat. Meanwhile, I already uploaded all my documents on their site over 3 weeks ago. I was asked to get another passport and appointment. I want to know if I will have to start the whole process all over again like requesting for a new CAS, then proceeding to make a fresh application and appointment etc after I have gotten a new passport?

Funny thing about this is that majority of applicants are only using the study route as a way of leaving Nigeria.

They cannot answer these questions.
Infact, some of them ask agents to just apply to any course that will give them offer quickly .
Some will opt for courses that they will not even study for free, if it was to be taught in Nigeria. Their own is just to pay agent & go for application submission, nothing more.

Agent will choose the course, write personal statement & just send them offer when it’s out.

P:S: I’m just making a random statement, you guys should not pick offence o.

Why do you want to study in the UK and not Nigeria, other African countries, Canada, the US, Australia, Germany etc

Think about the answer to that and you’ll come up with something that doesn’t spell ‘I want to ja, ma’.

Whoever is paying doesn’t matter. UKVI has told you to get them to pay the money into the applicant’s account and you have done that.

I'm just thinking if it won't be more proper for her to say her husband? As long as your surname and first name are on it exactly as it is on your passport, you’re good and shouldn’t let ‘additional names’ delay the process.

I finally got my draft CAS today after I had pressured the school rep well.
I was supposed to check that all info on it matched with that on my passport and other docs and revert to them.
However, where they were to write other names/additional names, they didn't write anything. Just my Surname and Last name.
I called the school rep immediately on this, he said that particular issue doesn't matter.
I'm still not satisfied. I decided to wait till tomorrow before I send request for the CAS. But I also wrote back a mail to my query effect and copied the school rep

Pls guys what are your thoughts on this? Does this difference really not matter? Has anyone had a similar situation? I don't want any itch in this processes ooo abeg.

Anyway, I just wanted to add that you need to be able to explain what you have been doing since 2010. For example, was your previous application for a post graduate course? Are you applying at the same level this time?
If so, you’re basically saying you haven’t done much in ten whole years but wait for the ban to be lifted so you can ja pa.

I have my admission and I have all the tuition fund, maintainance, I will get my CAS anytime soon and my TB appointment is 17th of this month.

If so, 1. Do you have admission 2. Do you have the necessary tuition funds and maintenance 3. Have you gotten your CAS and started processing other relevant documents like TB etc.

We don't advice using lawyers or agents here, if you are SINCERE this time, you can do it by yourself. Be ready to address the BAN situation too

Company name wouldn’t mean anything to the visa officer so ‘marketing company’ is fine.

Re accommodation, just tell the truth. Say where you plan to go when you land (e.g. a friend’s, cousin’s etc) and then explain that you haven’t finalised accommodation because you want to view before you pay/commit. Or words to that effect.

No, it’s not.

Regardless of who is sponsoring you, unless it’s your parents, the maintenance funds need to be in your account.

Even if you’re staying at hers, you’d still need to show that you have the necessary funds in your account.

This isn’t correct. The question asked for the Tier4 application is:

‘For either the UK or any other country, have you ever been refused a visa‘

@Fame2me79 said he was denied in 2005. On the application form, he only needs to state refusals in the last 10 years. Still needs affidavit as there will be records if ECO needs to check.

You will still need to correct this error at some point. Or you would have to stick to the initial DOB ��‍♀️.
I sort of understand what you mean by naive (on a Naija level) but that wouldn’t fly to anyone else as a 19 year old is a grown man.

Yes i confirmed it was not Ecowas passport. But i was called in for fingerprint then, really cant remember very well. I am confused if i am to go ahead with the application.

The difference is less than £250. Instead of paying money into your account and restarting the count, it makes more sense to pay the Uni a bit more. Do £500-1k if you can.

This would increase your deposit and reduce the amount you need to show.

You can switch courses, doesn’t have to be the same field as your first degree. Management Information Systems and/or Information Systems should be OK.

For the Communication/Public Relations/Journalism course, I remember seeing someone on here talk about going to Sheffield Hallam to study Journalism or a related course. I believe it’s Aprokodaughter. Search for her handle and read her messages.

Also try Birmingham City Uni, Sunderland, Glasgow Caledonian Uni, Bournemouth...those are some of the typical ‘fair tuition fee’ Unis.

Also go through a few pages on here and use Dr Google.

Ah OK. London is not feasible and would make anyone looking at the case suspect you have ulterior motives. I seriously doubt you’d get a visa based on that commute.

I think the guidance is for the commute to be less than an hour. Best to hustle money for accommodation o.
You would spend more than £400 a month on train fares and I am sure you can get a room in Birmingham for less than that. (This is me assuming this London to Birmingham waka is to save cash.)

This is only really doable on paper. You’re better off looking for a school in London.

Depending on where in London your uncle lives, it would take over two hours to get to Birmingham and would likely be a red flag. Another 2+ hours to get back. Also, the cost - if you plan to get on a train - no be here.

Why don’t you try Westminster, Sunderland’s London campus, GCU’s London campus etc? You still have time to sort out admission as long as you’re already on your 28 day bank statement journey.

Good day house please can I live with a uncle for the one year accommodation in London but my school is in another city Birmingham city. That should be about one hour or 45 minutes there about. Hope it won't raise concern during the Eco interview.

I have spotted some decent advice already but if what you’re saying about having a baby around the same time is true, I don’t know how else to say this but make sure you emphasise it because that is a BIG deal.

I am not saying you shouldn’t accept you are at fault. Accept. But also flog the child birth thing.

Does your CAS say you need to provide your WAEC certificate? The few I have seen don’t.

I don’t see any of this as an issue. My birth certificate has OluwaX and all my other documents just say OluX and it has never been an issue.

Just do an affidavit that shows all the variants if that would make you feel better.

You don’t need to show that your brother is accommodating you but like everyone else, you need to provide proof of your tuition and maintenance fees even though you’d be living with your brother.

UKVI definitely accept it for visiting visas so I would assume that’s the case for Tier 4. Hopefully, someone can confirm this.

This is generally in response to your query about GTB internet banking statements and their current policy, not specifically w.r.t Tier 4:

When I was renewing my Schengen visa early this year, I went to get a statement from GTB as usual, and they printed it out already stamped and signed and informed me that that pre-stamped and signed statement was what they now issue for visa purposes and that it was official and would be accepted. I argued with the lady in customer service for a while, she stood her ground, so I took it like that and left.

I got the visa, but again, I've had several Schengen visas in the past, so who knows if they even looked at the paperwork in detail.

I understand the anxiety but please save yourself the stress and apply from the UAE. It appears VFS is open so barring any delays in getting your CAS and/or bank statement, carry go.

Just be honest about the Canadian refusal.....that has nothing to do with the UK. You can even include a comment about you moving the funds to your Naija account because you were hoping to apply from Naija but Covid no gree you (if it makes you feel better).

Just send them your statement - they’re not the visa office (of which, TLS still isn’t open by the way). Also, the Uni’s request clearly states that what they want to see is that you have the required funds and that your proof of funds meets UKVI’s requirements.

If it’ll make you feel better, mention that you know you can’t apply until the ~29th of July. I don’t think there’s a need for any story.

As long as your first name is on there and your surname is the same, there is nothing to worry about.

Kindly assist. All my degree certificates states 3 of my names, but my passport carries 4 names. E.g Amina Okoro Adeshina, but passport Carries Amina Okoro Taiwo Adeshina. Would I be required to get an affidavit?

As others have said, please do yourself a favour and get rid of the agent.

It’s a pretty straightforward process and if you have all your documents, you could be sitting on a couple of offers before the end of the month.

Read through this forum and pretty much all your questions would be answered.

The agent who I plan on using asked for two reference letters, one from my employer and one from a lecturer and was wondering if the two reference letters could be gotten from two different lecturers as opposed to an employer and a lecturer.

I know a couple of people that got into Sunderland with a 3rd class. Engineering not MBA though but it’s worth a try.

If he doesn’t have any work experience, has he considered other courses? Just a thought.

Lol yes. It doesn’t matter how long it’s in your account for. What matters is that it is in your account for at least 28 days prior to your application (statement must be less than 30 days old etc)

You’d also need to have a valid residence permit for Ghana as you can’t apply from a country where you are visiting.

Council can’t do anything for you about childcare at that age.

Do a search for childcare providers using your school’s postcode (childminders, private nurseries etc). A lot of people keep kids at home or with family until the 15 hours kick in and then they can top it up as required. Have a look and you’d be able to work out what the hourly rate is. Just a note of warning, full time childcare is not cheap anywhere. It often costs as much if not more than your housing costs!

Alternatively, your school’s International Office might be able to help as they’d have had students in similar situations.

The local council is in charge of school systems and free childcare systems.if you know the postcode of your school use that to search for the local council under the GOV UK website and send a detailed email explaining that you need clarification so you can plan.i know they will insist that placement will only be done when your kids are here but atleast you get a certain guidance/cost and can plan accordingly. Unless you want a private school or childcare.

TLS Ghana will open on the 23rd then na Naija No go reopen with the significantly higher number of applicants (and as such, revenue). Doesn’t make sense. It is more likely due to the closure of the Nigerian air space.

Virus or no virus, money must be made so please get your accounts ready and shoot your shot as soon as TLS is ready for you. All this free money Uncle Boris is giving out, who is going to pay for it? It is inconceivable that they will shut out international students completely for September entry.

A family member will help with part of the fund for my account only on the condition that I will give him a letter he will take to my bank requesting that the same amount he will put into my account should be restricted and made available to only him at the end of the process.

the money will reflect on the balance but not all bank staff can print the account statement.

Will the embassy know that some part of the fund is restricted? if yes is it against the rules?
