I don’t see a problem with this. 14 days on your own in a new city is long. Chill with your aunt....her picking you up makes things easier - no dragging suitcases on the train and what not. After the two weeks you can find your way to Wolverhampton. You can quarantine at a friend’s so I don’t see why you need to have mentioned them in your visa application. phadexzhi01: |

Your best bet is to fly into Edinburgh or Glasgow and then get a local coach or taxi.m (it’s about 90 minutes sha so taxi would be expensive). As you’d be flying with at least 3 suitcases, doing the journey from Heathrow into central London to get the train to Scotland would be quite difficult without help. The coach is long but is easier than trying to get to central London. Bashybabe2020: |

Kids under the age of 2 pay a nominal fee, typically about 10% of the adult fare. Age 2-11, the fare is about 90% of the adult fare. chiwelaw: |

No problem with the Istanbul stopover (Turkey is on the UK’s OK list sef). Turkish Airlines don’t require you to have a Covid test result. My cousin flew them, is quarantining at mine and didn’t need to do one. But as things change all the time, it’s best you check to confirm. And yes, you can quarantine anywhere in the UK. Some people have found it difficult to find accommodation for the two weeks so end up staying with friends/family. Bashybabe2020: |

Ahem....the question the application form asks is whether or not the applicant has family in the UK - it goes on to explain what they mean by family and in-laws don’t appear anywhere in said explanation. Neither do cousins. I think TheGuyFromHR already mentioned this but for the avoidance of doubt, see attached screenshot! justwise:

As with everything, it just depends on date and time. I can see tickets for £86 on Skyscanner for Oct 1st (random date I looked at). Local flights would only include one suitcase but if you buy both tickets (Lagos to London and then London to Newcastle) together, it’ll be the 2 suitcases you’re allowed from Lagos). Pricing is the same on BA’s site and I’m quoting the first flight out 9.50am since you’ll arrive before 6am from Lagos. The flights later in the day are slightly cheaper but the difference isn’t significant enough for you to hang around the airport. gracedforever: |

Unfortunately, this is not 100% correct. If it was true, agents wouldn’t exist. Airlines typically offer agents bulk seats at discounted prices not available on their websites because they have the reach and can often attract the numbers required. These discounted tickets would normally have some sort of restrictions and it is a way for them to push sales especially when they’re struggling to put bums on seats. As an individual, you can’t buy more than say <365 tickets a year assuming you travel every day of the year. Which is pretty much impossible. An agent can sell that in a matter of hours/days hence the exclusive deals they get. It’s pretty standard and makes business sense. justwise: 6 Likes |

BA only fly to London from Nigeria. So to buy a ticket to any other airport in the UK, it would be Lagos/Abuja - London - Third City e.g. Newcastle in this case. So the 266k fare is the 215k promo fare + the cost of a ticket from London to Newcastle. gracedforever: |

To avoid stories that touch, insist that the agent sends you a pdf copy of the application before he submits it so you can see what’s there. It’s YOUR application and you should take full responsibility for it. Someone just said how an agent ‘lied’ about a previous refusal and he/she was banned because of that. As @Dami24 insinuated, tread carefully o. utaraji2: |

International licence, not Naija licence. And the insurance premium would be significantly more expensive. Best to apply for a provisional licence once you collect your BRP, do a few lessons, the theory test and then the practical test. Since you can already drive, 5-10 lessons should be adequate. The lessons aren’t essential but would be helpful. You can download the theory test app and start studying for that now if you have some free time. Southhost: |

Yeah, that makes sense. I was just checking that you weren’t applying for one of the more ‘popular’ courses on here. What Unis offer the course? Someone here might have experience on their CAS process or whether they typically frown on applicants with precious refusals. Agitude17: |

There’s no blanket rule that covers this so you’d have to just shoot your shot (and be honest about it) and see what happens. It is likely you’d be asked if you have been denied a visa before at some stage and then asked for the reason for refusal. So for Canada, you would need to answer yes and then explain. You have to seriously think about how you word both (US and Canada) explanations. Blaming it on an agent wouldn’t help much so might be better to go along the line of ‘human error’. Have you been to the UK before? Have you done a postgraduate course/degree before? Was the Canadian visa application for a visit or study visa? This would determine if it is ‘clear’ that you just want to ja pa or not. I think it would be more difficult if you have done some sort of postgraduate course before. Also, make sure there’s logical progression in terms of your choice of course. It would be significantly harder if you, for example, studied a non-relevant course at undergrad level and have no work experience in the field you are applying for. That PLUS the previous refusals and ban portrays something else. I don’t think anyone can tell you Unis that would sponsor you unless they’ve been in this specific situation before (or know someone who has) but I would suggest you apply to a number of Unis and not just a couple. It just means you can’t be too picky about Unis. All the best. Agitude17: 3 Likes |

Your best bet is to try other Unis. I have seen a couple of suggestions on here but please note that from what you have written, it is not just because of your previous refusals. The issue of progression also seems to be a key factor so you need to address that. It appears your personal statement doesn’t sufficiently address why you’re doing another masters as the Uni clearly told you this and it brings up clear red flags (why would someone want to pay crazy international fees twice?) Add that to the previous visa refusals from different countries and you’ll see things from their perspective. The onus is on you to make your personal statement as solid as possible so any questions or doubts they have are addressed. To me, this is where you have fallen short. Try running your personal statement by a couple of people just to be sure you have covered all bases. I wouldn’t suggest you withhold the information about your previous refusals but that’s your call to make. SegunWamiri: 4 Likes |

Council tax is paid per property/household. Not per person. Students are exempt but if your partner lives with you and isn’t a student, you’d have to pay it. https://www.gov.uk/council-tax/who-has-to-pay mdeeokoye: |

Yeah, Qatar allow one piece at 30kg compared to the European airlines which typically do two pieces of 23kg. You could buy the student BA ticket to London mentioned earlier and then buy yourself another BA ticket to Manchester which I can see for £85. Flights leave from the same terminal so you shouldn’t have any problems connecting. Or check BA direct yourself for a Lagos to Manchester ticket. I suspect that Qatar would be cheaper than this option sha. Capitalbase: 1 Like |

You wouldn’t find anything for £5k. Is there a reason why you’re restricting yourself to Manchester? Free accommodation? If so, you can also try Bolton and the Unis in Liverpool (Liverpool John Moore and Liverpool Hope). Neither of them would be as low as £5k sha and you’d have to pay for the commute. Fees are typically around £10-11k (if you graduated with a 2.1 and can get some discounts) but more like £12-14k. The Uni of Liverpool and Manchester types are all over £20k. Tinadear: |

You don’t need to have paid for accommodation. Just know details about where you plan to live (on or off campus, cost, location, commuting distance etc). Passsegun: |
