It is interesting that the fellows above claim to be Christians but they have denied power and influence of Christianity in their thought process. Rather than comment on the value or otherwise of the suggestions posted, they prefer to attack the faith they verbally claim to belong to.

The OP has given his own suggestions. Kindly give yours without exposing the confusion going on in your mind on whether to allow your faith to impact your thinking or refer only to contemporary psychology that you don't know where the thought behind it originated from.

Everyone that stayed in our home still count my mom as theirs! They still come arnd n worship her. Their spouses report them to my parents in any dispute.
