Religion / Sat Guru Maharaj Ji Speaks On His Knowledge Of Ebola by oludashmi(f): 11:27am On Sep 22, 2014
The self acclaimed creator of heaven and earth, Spiritual head of One Love Family, Sat Guru Maharaj Ji, spoke with City People Magazine about a couple of things. One of which was the secret behind Ebola, where he said Ebola disease is a political weapon to kill silently and secretly.

When asked as a spiritual leader, if Ebola was as a result of our many sins or the cause and solution to the Ebola killer disease, he said…
I don’t think Nigerians are aware of what sin is, because in a world where you can’t see the creator what is left? They say He is omnipotent these that in English Language. The creator is omnipotent there is no doubt about it. but then don’t forget that we are dramatising a script that Oyibos put down. They say we are Nigeria, you have to be Muslim, you have to be a Christian. You have to go to college, you have to go to University, you must get married etc. If you don’t go to America you can’t make a biro and all these things. So the issue is that our people are dying ignorantly. In the twentieth century they said the world was coming to an end. 1999, somebody said no the world will not come to an end, they persecuted him. The world naturally is there. Now we are in the 21st century somebody is proclaiming that you can see God alive, they say what? How dare he? But then you see man is a temple of God.

The Bible says that know that ye are gods. We are children of God, we are gods ourselves and we have the power. So how do we curtain it? this is where Ebola comes in. Ebola is not a disease, it is a virus invented by the Oyibos. Like the Condom, like the hand-tracts to HIV, to eliminate some people in Africa. Because if you look at it critically, the man who had the virus flew to America, to Liberia and from Liberia he entered here. The ancestors caught him even some weeks back, another diplomat who was carrying the virus died inside the plane. They said they suspected him of heart-attack, its a lie. He was being used to cause another problem in the diplomatic circle. So Ebola is part of what we stalwart program, ‘weapon of silent mass destruction’. That if they were to enter? They say don’t shake, is that what they said when Aids came. Already, I have told everybody about twenty five thirty years ago, the best way to great somebody is to bow. Now they said don’t eat bush meat, there is nothing wrong with bush meat. Even though we are aware that if you eat anything live your life will be shorten.

As the crown of creation, the creator has given us what to eat that we make us live longer, but anybody who tells who that Ebola is cause by eating bush meat, its a lie. It would have been cow meat because bush meat live inside the bush. But cow is being driven by people who hate, people who are in the habit of killing without any excuse. So I say it clean clearly, its part of stalwart program to finish the blacks in Africa. Who have today assembled in Nigeria and gradually with the perfect living master, the country is now becoming a threat to all the countries of the world. Because it is Nigeria you find the best things, best food, weather that is highly accommodating. We have enough raw materials and the grace that has touched Nigeria to have a living perfect master is something that is frighten all of them. So time is coming that Nigeria will start making cars, T.Vs, Radios through knowledge. So Nigerians should not be afraid of Ebola and if you are afraid all you need to do is to go and appeal the oguns. If you don’t have money go for divine knowledge, use Maharaji name, it will work. No disease with my presence. ‘’So Ebola is a political weapon to kill silently, secretly’’.

On why she thinks people were interested in her personal life, she said
“I honestly don’t know. People seemed interested in it I guess. There was just so much of both of us out there. The bible says all things work together for all those that trust God. So at that point, for me, I could have broken up and living my life and I was ready to be single again and I woke up one morning again here I am, I am married. Religion / Police Find 9 Pound Cocaine In Vatican Car by oludashmi(f): 11:14pm On Sep 21, 2014
Police in France found cocaine and marijuana in a vehicle with Holy See diplomatic plates belonging to Cardinal Jorge Maria Mejia.

Pope Francis may have often spoken out against the “evil” of drug use, but the Vatican was facing embarrassment on Tuesday after 9 pounds of cocaine was found in a car bearing diplomatic plates associated with the Holy See.

The car, which was stopped and searched in France, belonged to Argentinian Cardinal Jorge Maria Mejia, who had entrusted it to two Italian men.

Aged 91, the cardinal retired in 2003 and holds the title of emeritus librarian at the Holy See.

The two men, aged 30 and 41, had reportedly been told by his private secretary to take the car for a routine service.

Instead they promptly drove to Spain, where they allegedly bought the cocaine and from there drove into France. They reportedly believed that the car’s diplomatic status would place them above suspicion.

But on Sunday they were stopped at a toll station near Chambery in the French Alps, en route back to Italy, where police found the cocaine hidden in suitcases and bags, along with seven ounces of cannabis.

They were arrested and will appear in front of a French magistrate on charges of drug trafficking.

Politics / Facebook Criticism: Katsina Gov Detains Student Indefinately by oludashmi(f): 9:44pm On Sep 20, 2014
A student of the National Open University of Nigeria, Abdulmalik Sa’idu, has been languishing in a police cell for over 20 days on the orders of the Governor of Katsina State, Ibrahim Shema, for posting details of an alleged fertiliser scam in the state on his Facebook timeline, premiumtimes reports.

He said Abdulmalik was arrested because he posted details of an alleged fertiliser scam by the governor on his Facebook page.

Abdulmalik was said to have been invited to the Katsina Government House on August 28 by a phone caller who claimed he had a message for him. But when Abdulmalik arrived at the governor’s office, he was promptly arrested, handcuffed and taken to Batagarawa Police Station just outside the state capital, Katsina, and detained on the orders of Mr. Shema’s aide-de-camp, Shehu Koko, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP.

According to his father, Maiyawo Sa’idu, while the young student was not charged with any offence, he was accused of cloning the governor’s phone number and using same to call the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affair, Sani Makana, with instructions that Mr. Makana deposit N3 million in his account.

Mr. Sa’idu said his son was innocent. He said if indeed Abdulmalik cloned the governor’s number to dupe a commissioner he wouldn’t be tricked to come to the Government House to be arrested.

“I think they are trying to frame him. I know my son cannot clone the governor’s number and call a commissioner to put three million into his account.

Mr. Saidu said prior to his son’s illegal detention, some officials of the state government had warned his son to desist from criticising the governor on Facebook.

On one occasion, the General Manager of Katsina State Road Maintenance Agency, Jamilu Umar, threatened to pay N2 million to thugs or policemen to kill Abdulmalik if he doesn’t stop criticising the governor publicly, Mr. Saidu said.

Governor Shema’s Chief Press Secretary, Sani Malumfashi, rejected repeated calls made to his mobile phone after this reporter told him he was calling about Abdumalik’s case.

Celebrities / I Do Not Bleach, I Have Sun Burns – Ayo Adesanya by oludashmi(f): 8:57pm On Sep 20, 2014
So you don’t bleach your skin?

No I do not bleach my skin. When you see somebody that bleaches, you will know. I have sun burns and it is not a hidden thing. I have tried a lot of things to make it fade away but it has refused and I have come to terms with it. I would never bleach my skin, a lot of people get confused about it but I don’t get bothered. I don’t owe anybody an explanation but when you meet me in person, you can always make up your mind.

What is your take on people that bleach their skin?

Some people are naturally fair and the weather in Nigeria is terrible, it is just recently that we have been experiencing cool weather. The sun is usually very hot and it is bad for the skin. For someone like me, a lot of people are usually confused when they see my picture. They are quick to assume things and they do not know me personally. When you see people in pictures, don’t be too quick to judge, do you know how many lights are focused on the person while taking the picture? Because of the weather in this country, there are some lotions people use to enhance their skin and make it softer. There are some lotions that are not harmful but people have some misconception. The weather is very bad and it can affect one’s skin if care is not taken. I have friends that are fair in complexion and I know what they go through to maintain their complexion. If you do not maintain it, it would appear as if your skin is dirty. I don’t believe people should bleach personally.

Some people believe that fair skinned women have an advantage over dark skinned women, do you agree with that?

I don’t agree with that. I have dark skinned friends that are very pretty. People have preferences, while some like fair skinned people, others can’t stand them. I don’t think a person’s skin colour should determine anything but their personality.

Politics / Tounching! Mike Awoyinfa Writes Tribute To Dimgba Igwe by oludashmi(f): 5:53pm On Sep 09, 2014
Mike Awoyinfa, friend and business partner to Dimgba Igwe, writes a touching tribute to his friend who died on September 6. He it is the most unimaginable nightmare. read the very touching tribute..

This is it! The most unimaginable nightmare! This is it! The most painful column I have ever written or will ever write. The column I wished I never wrote. The agonizing column. The column written amidst sorrow, tears and blood. Please, pray for me.”

More than any time in my life, I need prayers. Prayer is the only healing balm for me now. Prayer is the only thing that can save me from these troubled waters, from this ocean of sorrow threatening to consume me. I write with a heart brimful with sadness. By the Orwell River in Ipswich, England, where I am sitting, I am scribbling these painful words. By the time you are reading this, I should be home to face the shocking reality.

You know why I am writing, you Father of the fatherless, you Creator of all things good and bad, you giver of life and taker. You gave him to me, now you have taken him. You gave me a friend and a brother. Now, you have taken both. Who will be my friend? Who will be my brother?

Sadness is now my name. Sadness like those missing girls stolen from us in the middle of the night and taken into captivity. Sadness is the tattoo mark emblazing my face like Mike Tyson’s facial tattoo. I have been reading Mike Tyson’s bizarre memoir: MIKE TYSON, UNDISPUTED TRUTH, MY AUTOBIOGRAPHY and I was planning to write on it. But I am compelled to jettison that to write this sad column.

Oh, my God! You know why I am sad. My best friend is gone. My twin brother is gone. A good man is gone. A generous man is gone. A man who gave all his life serving God and journalism is gone. A man who is the other part of me is gone. Dimgba Igwe is gone. What will I do now? Who will I turn to now? Who?

Why must all my friends and heroes in journalism die so cruelly, landing on the front page? My editor Dele Giwa died the same way: killed dastardly through a letter bomb on October 19, 1986. And up till today, the riddle of his death remains unsolved. It has become “a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma,” to use a phrase by Winston Churchill. Like Giwa, Dimgba Igwe in the throes of death was crying: “I don’t want to die.” For four hours, he was bleeding on the road to Golgotha. No ambulance. No oxygen mask. No Samaritan hospital. From St. Raphael Hospital to the General Hospital Isolo where there was no surgeon to attend to him, it was the story of Nigeria’s systemic failure as a country. He finally gave up at Lagos State University Hospital, Ikeja.

If I am angry at all, it is not with the bloody coward who killed him and fled in panic. I will forgive the hit-and-run killer. And the Dimgba Igwe I know, will forgive the man who killed him. What I cannot forgive is a nation with health institutions that can do nothing, once your life is in danger. It’s the same story all over Nigeria. Of course, you know that once you are taken to LUTH on emergency, you are as good as dead. And this is a country without a functional 911 which you dial in emergency and get help. Only in Nigeria will you commit this heinous crime and vanish. In a civilized country, the killer would have been caught on camera. The security agents would have tracked the car down. Not so in Nigeria.

I remember the sad death of my other Sunday Concord friend May Ellen Ezekiel whose death in a Lagos hospital shook the nation. Dimgba Igwe and I were at the helm in Weekend Concord where he was my deputy. The best decision I ever took in life was to choose Dimgba Igwe as my deputy. He complemented me in every way. Now, he is gone.

Like everyone else, I am confused. I am lost. Please, pray for me. More than any time in my life, I need prayers. Lots of them. Because I don’t know how I can cope without my friend, my business partner, my co-author, my soul mate, my chief critic. He was the voice of restraint—always fearing for my life, because of my constant prone to accidents. I remember an accident in Paris, when I stumbled, crashed on the street and seriously injured my arm in the bid to protect my camera and photos. Dimgba Igwe was there for me when I was down and out in Paris. And at the Golden Tulip, where we had lodged to write Governor Fashola’s biography, I had another accident in the night after my writing, resulting in a deep cut on my lower and upper lips. Again, Dimgba and the hotel medical staff quickly rushed me to hospital where I was told I could have bled to death, if the broken glass had cut my throat. You read it all in this column!

Against this backdrop, I was the one more prone to death. In his last interview, Dimgba Igwe told YES INTERNATIONAL MAGAZINE how he nicknamed me “Iniquity Man” because I won’t sit in one place. As his twin brother four years older, I used to imagine a future where two of us would be old and I would die first and Dimgba would be there, paying me tributes, looking back at the lives we lived. But alas, the imagined future is dead and Dimgba is gone in his prime.

The Dimgba I know was a kind man who didn’t deserve this cruel death. If anything, he would have hated this big embarrassment of being on front page, killed doing what he loved best: jogging. He believed the best way to prolong life is by exercising, by running and pumping oxygen into the heart. He was the one who introduced me to jogging. And for more than 10 years, I have been jogging with him. Our houses are next to each other on that God-forsaken Dele Orisabiyi Street in Okota which has not for once seen any government repairing it in years. Recently after returning from a first-time trip to Banana Island where he had gone to visit our friend, Elder Ekeoma whose daughter was marrying, Dimgba Igwe had an epiphany. He was so sad that he would be leaving the well-tarred streets of Banana Island and be returning home to that hell of a street in Okota. “Ogbeni, we must work harder and have a place in Banana Island,” he told me. Dimgba was a hard-working man, a visionary who should have lived long to reap the fruits of his toil. The greatest honour that the Lagos State government can do in memory of my departed friend is to tar his street. I am sure even the inhabitants wouldn’t mind if the street is renamed Dimgba Igwe Street after this great son of Nigeria—if the road is tarred for his sake. That would make him happy in his grave. That was what he yearned for and even begged our friend, the governor who gave us his word that he would assist.

Every morning, we run on that bad road. I couldn’t join him last Saturday because I was in the UK with my family for my son’s graduation—a day I was looking forward to with the pride and joy of a father. Dimgba opted to stay and take care of the home front while I was away. Somehow, I feel guilty. If I had known it will end this way, I would have taken my beloved brother along.

Pastor Igwe must have prayed that morning. His first act at the break of every new day is to go on his knees. He sings in praise of God, blesses the name of the Lord, speaks in tongue and prays for the Lord to deliver him from all evils. But on that Black Saturday, the devil struck. On the eve of his death, I had called him from Ipswich and told him the books I had bought for him. Books like JFK’s Last Hundred Days, by Thurston Clarke, The Virgin Way, by Richard Branson, God is not a Christian, by Desmond Tutu and an epic book on the history of Jerusalem from the days of David up to the current day. He was so excited. He was waiting for the books. He loved books. Now, the evil forces have brought him to book.

Adieu, my friend, my brother. Like King David mourned his friend Jonathan, I cry: “How have the mighty fallen! Tell it not in Gath. Publish it not in Ashkelon.” For a great man of journalism has passed away. Our latest book is a book called 50 World Editors, featuring conversations with editors around the world whom we met in the course of our travels. We were planning to launch it, but see me now!

This morning, I came across the New Men’s Devotional Bible you gave me on my 60th birthday. Oh, you really tried on my 60th birthday and I was looking forward to celebrating in grand style your own 60thbirthday. But, see me now!

In the Bible you gave me, you wrote: “Ogbeni, be strong in the Lord and the power of His might.” (Ephesians 6: 10)

My friend, I will be strong in the Lord. I will fly the flag and search for heaven that you so much cared about. Ogbeni, thank you. Good night and enjoy your freedom.

Politics / You Will Lose In 2015, OOU Students Warn Gov. Amosun by oludashmi(f): 3:12pm On Sep 09, 2014
The students of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, OOU, have warned the Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, that he would lose the 2015 governorship election in the state if he doesn’t rescind his decision on the school fees.

“When masses say No, No Governor can say Yes,” a placard by one of the students said. “Gov Amosun, listen to the students now or you will…. 2015 election.”

The students have been at loggerheads with the state government since August following their demand for further reduction in the school’s tuition fees and immediate implementation of the reduction. Though, the state government had earlier announced a reduction which the students said was inadequate because the government said its reduction would commence from the next academic session.

While addressing journalists at a media briefing organised by the Joint Action Front, JAF, the students described the state government as a “set of shameless parents who chose to lie and deceive their children”.

“We are ever resolute to pursue this cause no matter what it takes, because the issue is very simple,” Olusegun Ifade, the President of the Students Union Government, SUG, said.

“If you are talking about reduction and you run to the media without having a conclusive or mutual agreement and the most annoying thing is you are saying the implementation will take effect next session, our own argument is logical and simple.

“Over 2000 students cannot pay and have applied for leave of absence for the 2012/2013 session, and many couldn’t return. If you now announce a reduction and you say it will take effect next session, what of this academic session of 2013/2014?

“Do they go out of school because they can’t pay and return next session? Is it logical? It’s not logical. Implementation and further reduction of the fees is non-negotiable”.

“Let me also address the rumour that we are being motivated by politicians,” Mr. Ifade said. “We all remember the Ali-must-go protest in the 70s, we heard the students accused of being sponsored by the opposition.”

“During the LASU struggle, they said the 5th columnist and some politicians motivated it, but at the end of the day, the success of the struggle showed that it was a student motivated struggle.

“It is always like that in this part of the world, when we have a highly irresponsible government who always look for excuse to justify their irresponsibility and that’s why they are saying the struggle of Olabisi Onabanjo University is a politically motivated one. It is not and it will never be,” Mr. Ifade stated.

“They said it’s only 1 out of 9 tertiary institutions that is complaining,” he said. “But it is only that one that is in 2013/2014 academic session; it is only one that pays the highest tuition fees in the entire Nigeria; it is only that one that is still standing and it will continue to stand.”

“I saw her at dinner and she twice made a toast drinking water instead of wine. That and the prominent stomach bulge got people talking,” a source was quoted as saying.

“It’s highly unusual to toast with anything but a full glass of wine,” added the source.

manuell1021: if dis man is saying d truth, den Asari Dokubo shld be takin serious henceforth. who knws wat dey re cookin up where dey re ryt nw? maybe we shld b expecting anoda terrorist insurgence in d nearest future.

You may be right.
But Asari was once quoted (long time ago, can't find it online now) he changed from Christianity cos he couldn't go aggressive like he wanted to. Thant Islam allows him to vent his anger while Christianity doesn't. I don't know how true but he was said to be a member of Deeper Life.

computerboy:

Sweet? OK Will you like to give birth before your boyfriend proposes?

Not the best though. But if it happens, is it not better than denying the innocent child and mother?

Also, probably the guy didn't want to stress her up during pregnancy and was looking for a more romantic way to do it. Just saying.

Celebrities / Kcee Reconciles With Wife, Buys Her 2014 Camry by oludashmi(f): 1:24pm On Sep 08, 2014
Well, according to City People, Singer Kcee, has reconciled with his estranged wife, Ijeoma. He even bought her a 2014 Toyota Camry.

For all those who were aware of the crisis that rocked top singer Kcee’s home a couple of months ago, City People can authoritatively reveal that the award-winning crooner and his wife Ijeoma, the mother of his two adorable kids, are back together. And this time around, the love is waxing even stronger than it has ever been. The dazzling beauty has also relocated back to Nigeria after her long stay in Germany.

Recall the marriage started experiencing hiccups when it was alleged that the big boy music act renewed his old flame with screen diva Ebube Nwagbo, and the news of their romance became the topic of the day. Among the many pointers that made people believe strongly that Kcee ‘s marriage was having a great lull was the interview he went on air to grant TV personality, Toolz.

He was alleged to have referred to his wife and kids as past tense, stating he didn’t even know their whereabouts. In the interview, when Toolz asked Who is Ijeoma Okonkwo?, he replied, “She is my younger sister”. Although his manager debunked the story saying it was all a publicity stunt, those in the know affirmed all was not well.

However, the good news is that the two lovebirds who got engaged in the most romantic manner ever recorded by any showbiz guy in Nigeria, are back together. And to mark her birthday, KCEE bought a brand new 2014 Toyota Camry car for his wife. This is the second official car he is specially buying for her in 3 years. The first was a customised 2010 Honda Ridgeline with which he proposed to her before they got married. Among the other cars his pretty wife cruises are a G-Wagon, and Range Rover Sport.

Would you rather be happy with a matured man that rub pancake and smile in public but be battered by a young guy?

The ball is in your court if numbers matter to you than happiness.

texaco1: if what I read here on nairaland about amosun performance in ogun state is true ,then it will take a miracle for any party to unseat amosun in the next elections .

Gbam! I second this.

I believe so too because I went to some part of ogun state and was shocked. I remember missing my way for over an hour at Akute. It took a good samaritan for me to retrace my steps.
A bro of mine who schooled at OOU confirmed he saw lots of changes when he visited recently.
